CD/DVD all of a sudden drive to detect a problem, will not read disks
My original title CD player does not...
My CD player was working fine yesterday. Now when I load the software into the drive, the drive doen't read. I even tried to click the icon on the start menu, and nothing happens. A message appears on the display "insert CD in Drive...". The "Fix - It Center" Microsoft detects a problem, but for some reason, is not able to fix it.

According to the description of the connection of the power supply or you have a problem with the power outlet (perhaps folded ut of shape enough to cause free adjustment) or Charger (connection flashing in-house, exit misfeed or simply that bad). If I was in your position I would take back and get one without load problems. You can send it through Acer support and they will fix it for you, but back to the seller will be faster.

Satellite Pro A100: DVD UJ850 of disk I/O error - will not read disks
I got a glance at other posts on the site of the people who have had a similar problem and I'm starting to think that my drive is defekt!
The defective hard drives after extracting audio from a CD to store on my MP3 player. I arrived at almost the end of the CD and the drive started to jump so I took out the cd.
After that, he would not read the discs and returned the device IO error that others have had.First thing I did was install the driver and cleaned the lens. No luck. Then I removed the device in Device Manager and reinstalled windows, still no luck. Then I tried the registery fix. I even removed the drive and put it back in, my same experience if this can sometimes fix things. Still no joy.
As a last resort, I tried to find the firmware for the drive a Matsu * UJ850, but could ony find another OEM manufacturing of the firmware.Firmware is for the toshiba Variant? I have really no idea why he left after the extraction of a CD. He had a very light use and is more than 1 year. If there is a way to repair rather than shell out on a new, one I would welcome suggestions.
I saw you first posted thread here in the forum on the problems of drive CD/DVD device.

You solve it? It of the same problem? The problem described here sounds a bit like a hardware malfunction. Especially the drive cannot read or write CD or DVD due to the lens of the drive failure.
But maybe you are a lucky guy and the material is okI noticed that the Sonic software could be responsible or IO errors.
Remove the software Sonic add it & remove programs, reboot the laptop and clean the registry with CCleaner software recheck player features. -

DVD / CD-Rom drive will not read disks.
I don't know if it's a hardware problem or a software problem.
When I put a disc in, it runs for 1-2 seconds, stops, turns for 1-2 seconds, stops, turns for like 1-2 seconds, stops (model repeats 3 times at once) and then silence.
After trying several times to put in and taking the disc, it runs at full speed and I knew that it is a success that it's reading the disc to replay the video. But why it fails then back working again constantly. Solution?
Also, when my computer is in "sleep" and I wake up, disk she could read his way 'sleep' cannot be detected anymore. Solution?
The drive model is HP DVD Ram UJ8A2.
I tried all the solutions software. None of them worked. I have actually used a piece of tissue paper to gently clean the DVD / CD lens a few times and now it works fine. I think the lens must attend a gentle cleaning. Resolved issues.

computer printing problem saying "Error exporting" and printer saying just 1 copy. I tried troubleshooting on mine, doesn't have the verified maintenance on the printer, but still saying error. Help, please!
Hi @kelley22,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see that your HP PSC 2100 printer is stuck on copy and will not be printed on Windows 8. I'm happy to help you!
The first step, I would like to recommend is a hard reset. Please see this message, How to perform a hard reset, by @Rich1. It is very important that the power cable from the printer is plugged directly into the wall outlet, not a surge protector. See this article, questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power, for more information. This is true for printers and ink jet.
Once this step is finished, please try to print a self-test report, to check the printer hardware is fully functional.
To print a self-test report, follow these steps:
- On the product control panel, press Setup.
The installation menu appears. - Press the right arrow ( ) until print report displays and then press OK. The menu print report appears.
- Press the right arrow ( ) until the self-assessment report and press OK. The self-test report prints.
If the test report print, then on the computer, please try our HP print and Scan Doctorand let me know what happens!
Hope this helps and have a great day!
"Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for having responded."
- On the product control panel, press Setup.

My CD drive was working fine, then suddenly the door opens, and when I inserted a disc manually (on the computer has read very well just a few hours earlier), I got a message saying that there no disc.
If the door does not open and must be opened means that one cable to connect the drive to the motherboard or power has failed, or that the drive itself does not.

Dimension 4550 DVD-ROM and DVD-RAM will not read disks
My daughter has a Dimension 4550. The engraver has recently left working, so we replaced it with a Lite-On DH-20A4P-08 DVD - RAM drive. We played a couple of moview and a CD on the new drive. Today the old DVD-ROM new DVD-RAM both refuse to recognize that a disc is in the disc (DVD or CD); He says: no disc in the drive. We have checked the cable connections and updated the driver for the new drive with no luck. We also tried the Dell store without success.
Any other ideas?
How to run diagnostics on these discs?

Toshiba cd/dvd drive will not read or eject or anything like that!
Cd/dvd driver for my Toshiba laptop will not work. It lasted about a year, then he became gradually sporadic to read/write or ejection and by last winter, he stopped all together. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for it, and in Device Manager, it says that the device is functioning normally; every once in a blue moon it will suddenly eject, but then if you put something in nothing happens, even not with the original disks. With the repair utility, it says something like unreadable media, at best. I'm a little confused as to what is happening here, so, what steps should I take to verify if it is indeed the drive disc or something in the software?
Thanks, Bruce

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total

Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.

Combo CDR/DVD SDR2102 drive will not read CDs or DVDs
Hello
I have a mobile Ergo Elite 4.
The hard drive crashed and I bought a new one.
I have loaded windows XP by using a boot disk but cannot get the Toshiba SDR2102 CDR/DVD combo drive to work. I had to load windows on via USB
using a USB port.I can see the drive in windows Explorer, but it will not read the CD or DVD.
I looked in the Device Manager, and it came with no warning mark.
I tried deleteting, re-startup and he's back in the Device Manager.I'm trying to find a better driver, but it says that I use the best driver.
I tried various Web sites using sand everywhere tells me that I do not need a driver for this drive.
What I do, it seems as if the Combo driver is recognized but it will not be read whatever it is inserted, he said only: insert the disc.Does anyone know what I can try? or know where I can get drivers for it or software to test the drive?
any help would be appreciated. :-(
Some.Hello
You n t need a special driver for the CD/DVD drive.
CD/DVD players use the current Microsoft drivers already contained in the Windows operating system. In my opinion, you should first test different types of media. Please note that not all CD or DVD s are compatible. Distribute readers can't handle bad quality mediums.
But we shouldn't t rule out a risk of hardware malfunction.
Disk failure and you may wish to contact your dealer for a replacement. -

Hello, tyINtrouble
The device is listed as a DVD player?
You can check by clicking on start, click computer, and to check the label of the hard drive, he may mention DVD or DVD - RW etc.
You can also check your connections are secure.
If possible, you can try to test the drive in another machine, or another drive in your computer to see if it works properly.
If your hard drive and DVD/CD player are on the same parallel cable connection, it can cause problems as well.
We can't wait to hear back on your part.

Optical drive will not read anything else professional films
So, I am owner of a 2012 MacBook Pro 13 ". The computer comes with Intel Core i7 processor and has the maximum of 8 GB of Ram. The problem is that the optical drive that is built into the computer will read nothing else done professionally movies. It can read disks of movies like the Lord of the rings and Wargames, to name a few, I tested, but it will not read any DVD-R disc or to a CD. I tried the CDs as Metallica music... And Justice for all after try in another computer and a radio and get good results when it just won't play on my Mac.
I have had this problem in the past , but at the time the optical drive not read anything at all. This occurred in early December and I fixed it on 20 December. To solve the problem, I went to the Apple Store and they can Reset the P - RAM. The Apple guy he told me to make sure to disable every night. I did this because it's what I did in the past. After that, I was able to play any CD or DVD and burn them. I also tested it every two weeks by playing a DVD in there to check that it still works. But I discovered that it was broken again when tried to insert a DVD-R to burn things on it and the computer only it spun and then ejected it. I've known this current problem since around mid-April.
I did some research on it and what I have read I believe that I must buy a cleaning disc and run it in my optical drive to clean the lens of the eye out, but I don't understand how I am able to read some disks and not others if that is the problem.
Can I take it again in the Apple Store and get it looked like or should I buy a cleaning disc and run it through my optical drive, and then decide what to do next? I'm in no hurry to get this problem fixed because my guarantee does not expire until the end of July this year.
I don't know why you want to put some words in BOLD and a few words in normal font. Frankly I find it a bit annoying when someone does something like that, but oh well... what you could do is to try a cleaning disc (the one with little brushes this topic) or a good breath of air compressed. In addition, some brands of DVD - R Virgin do not work as well as others. I found verbatim to be good, maybe maxell or Taiyo Yuden. Your mileage may vary...
If this still does not work, feel free to zap the pram x 2-3) and do an smc reset. Shut down the computer, plug power adapter, hold down the left shift, control, option, and button works / stop for about 45 seconds, let go of all of them, then press the power button to restart. If none of this works, then by all means to make a genius bar appointment and bring it in to your local Apple store. Hey, if you have an extended warranty, might as well use it, right?
Good luck

Hello.
I've had my A210-12U for about five months now, and recently for the past few months I had some problems with the dvd player.
The thing is that the player will not play all discs, the drive will detect that a disc has been inserted, but it will not read. It happened for about a month but its only recently I really know whats been wrong with it.
The drive I currently use is a CARPET * A DVD - RAM UJ-8505 ATA
I scanned the disk for problems with the support toshiba but utility that came with something so I decided to check the drivers.
Windows Vista gave this Message: Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
I uninstalled the drivers and drivers on there and installed new ones that I downloaded here on the toshiba site.
What I really want to know is: is this a problem with the drivers? is it a case that the operating system does not detect the hardware? or is this a situation where I should have the disk fixed on its guarantee?
was soon Dan
