Hello

1. how the recovery disks have been created?
2. is this an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) disc?
3. what operating system is installed on the computer?

You can make settings in the BIOS (Basic Input Output Device), to change the first boot device in the CD/DVD and see that it helps.

You must contact the manufacturer of the computer to perform this task.

Warning: be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly. BIOS update should be made only if necessary (to solve a compatibility problem, for example). It can be a complicated process, and if an error occurs, your computer could be rendered inoperative. Be sure to observe the instructions of the manufacturer.

My CD/DVD drive does not seem to start DVD, it runs and runs and the only way I can run a DVD (i.e. film) is using Windows Media Center, while the software to install must be enabled in Windows Explorer.

    Anyone?

    Help, please.
    Thank you!

Open Control Panel and Auto game options. Enable the option Use AutoPlay for all media and devices. Also change other options, especially for DVD movies, software and games.

  • I bought a laptop mini dell who doesn't have a cd/dvd drive and would like to get my photos from my camera on it.

    Computer: Dell Inspiron mini 910

Camera: Vivitar ViviCam X 024 digital camera

Program: Vivitar experience Image Manager software

I've tried connecting the camera to the computer, downloading the software directly from vivitar.com (invalid email supposedly), control panel addition and the removal of the cameras (not on the list of cameras), ect... I am now at a loss what to try next so if someone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

The camera uses media that can be deleted?  If so, download a USB drive for this type of media nd it allows to read the media when you remove it from the camera.

Regarding the "no CD/DVD drive" - If you really think you want - buy one - USB external.

If you have a ViviCam X 024 and looking at technical specifications and web Vivitar support page you can see the Manual of the camera that shows what you can / should use a SD memory card.  With a decent USB drive for the type of card, you should be able to remove it and read it as any external USB drive.

Well, to tell you the truth, however, the manual (page 48) makes it sound like the camera is - somehow - just a SD card reader.

Transfer media from my camera to my computer manually (using Windows)

    1. use the USB cable that came with your camera to connect your device to your computer.
    2. a window appears with a list of options, select open folder to view files, and click OK.
    3. open the DCIM folder and the folder to view multimedia files.
    4. Select support and copy the files in this folder to your computer. Optionally, select the files and choose copy from the Edit menu. Select a folder, then choose Paste from the Edit menu.
    5. We recommend that you copy the images in the photos / folder my pictures and videos in the videos / folder my videos.
    6. do not disconnect the cable during transfer. This will cancel the file transfer on their way to your computer.

You are keen on the CD/DVD drive for installation of some software?  You could make the CD in ISO image and install a program that would go the ISO image on your mini.  Or better yet, ise some external USB device connected to another computer to copy the contents of the CD to a folder on the said device and then transfer it to the mini.

    Hi Rob

It is quite complicated to explain how to remove the optical disk drive. Before you do this, you must remove the top cover. The optical disk drive is fixed with two screws. When you remove the two of them, you can get out the ODD of its Bay.

Sorry, but without exact maintenance manuals is not easy to explain this. It is quite complicated to disassemble the procedure for this model of laptop. Do you have already removed your Satellite Pro?

  • DVD drive internal unrecognized in Wake UP

Inspiron 17R (beginning 2013) during sleep, the internal DVD drive is not recognized in starting up. Once I hard reboot the laptop, it is recognized. It is configured with the DVD +/-RW 8 X 9.5, Serial ATA, TRAY, drive TOSHIBA SAMSUNG STORAGE TECHNOLOGY. When I try to run the diagnostic online player is not detected, it seems that it has been ignored in the bios. I've recently updated the bios to the most recent recommended. Any ideas what is happening here?

There is no special configuration required to install an SSD more later. Just get the configuration of the disks you want to use with the SSD. Of course, with the installed SSD, a cache mSATA provides no benefit, then I wouldn't choose this option.

Check / settings (BIOS/CMOS) often F2 so watch the screen as it starts - place CD/DVD
1st in the boot order (remember to put it at the time where the fact).

Then put in a DVD to boot Windows and see if the driver works.

If it doesn't then it's a hardware problem.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

I got no error messages.  When I went to start - computer drive E: (dvd player) wasn't there.  I checked several forums and tried a mrfixit.  This solves the problem, until I rebooted my computer, my drive would disappear again.  I ran mrfixit again and so on.  Now Mrfixit will not fix it.

My player does not appear little matter what I do, I can't.  I can not find uninstall, reinstall, or remove the filters that they...   I checked all my updates for windows and driver updates, I ran my hp health.  I've fussed and complained.  Can someone help me?

Many files that SFC cannot resolve are not important. Probably best to go to the next and upcoming section
    Back to this journal.

Start - type in the search box-> find CMD in top - click right on - RUN AS ADMIN

put the command from below (copy and paste) in this box and her and then press ENTER.

    findstr/c: "[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > sfcdetails.txt

who creates the sfcdetails.txt file in the folder that you are in when you run it.

So if you're in C:\Windows\System32 > then you will need to look in that folder for the file.

This creates sfcdetails.txt in C:\Windows\System32 find and you can post the errors in a message

You can read the newspaper/txt files easier if you right click on Notepad or Wordpad then RUN AS ADMIN - then
You can navigate to sfcdetails.txt (in C:\Windows\System32) or cbs.log (in C:\Windows\Logs) as needed.
(You may need to search sfcdetails.txt if it is not created in the default folders.)

Please help me. Now, how can I boot Windows XP CD?

At first, I must say that I really wonder why you do not have something to trade integrated optical drive. Qosmio F30 is not that old laptop and is perhaps the warranty still valid. You should check with the partner of service authorized in your country.

For start with external peripheral is not so easy because the external drive doesn't recognize started upward. Theoretically you should either external ODD visible to your Qosmio. For older laptop, it is possible if you start Notepad in pilot mode and load BACK to BACK. After doing this you have access to the external hard drive and can start the installation.

You can do this with your Qosmio laptop?

Most of the USB 2.0 DVD burners will be compatible XP (be sure to get a burner so you can make CD

    Hello

Check with the manufacturer of the system, their online documentation and drivers, diagnostics, and
Ask problems known in their forums. You may also check those similar
resources on the site of the manufacturer of the actual device (for the original drive).

    =================================================================

This problem may be caused by the presence of too many CD/DVD programs competing for resources,

CD/DVD drive does not appear in Windows Vista, or you receive this error in Windows
Vista installation after booting from the DVD (AHCI)

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0001\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

You can probably find more info here and maybe even the exact registry for your CD/DVD settings
drive from someone with the same model.

Use DevManView to locate the CD/DVD in the registry (be careful and do a prior Restore Point)
nothing change) - find the DevManView device and then make a right click on it free in RegEdit.

DevManView - free - an alternative to the standard Windows Device Manager, which displays all the
devices and their properties in flat table, instead of the tree viewer

    I hope this helps.

  • cannot start on the external dvd drive

I have a powered hub that I have attached a DVD player/recorder to. The hub is also connected to my Dell coming Pro 8 5830. I can use this DVD player/recorder in 8.1 for Windows to burn a Macrium rescue disc. I was also able to play videos with the DVD recorder/player while being connected to my Dell Tablet.

I want to be able to start in the DVD player, if ever, I have to use my Macrium rescue disc to restore a saved backup image.

When I go into the bios to make sure that the DVD player is selected first, he does not appear in the list.

How can I configure the startup Dell Tablet in the DVD player if it is not displayed in the list of the Bios boot?

We could use the power of Dell + data dongle USB OTG or similar device for example from other manufacturers, to circumvent the problem of power?  Then, it is a question of modifying the BIOS to boot from the DVD drive, if possible.
