  Hi, I installed Windows Essential 2012 on my gateway (running Windows7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit).  I want to run Family Safety, which currently runs on my two laptops (running Windows 8.1 and Windows7 Home Premium SP1 32-bit).  After you have installed Windows Essentials, when I try to open the parental controls on a standard user account, it will not open a browser window to the parental Windows web page (have IE installed 11).  The program does nothing, even if it shows the Windows parental control as the program of choice.   I tried the following:

  -Repair Windows Essentials 2012 - does not solve the problem

  -Uninstalled and reinstalled Windows Essentials 2012 - does not solve the problem

  -Tried to create a new standard user account - does not allow me to install parental controls with Windows parental control

  -J' I also have to make sure that Windows is up to date, confirmed with Windows Update and all available patches/updates are installed

  I have uninstalled Windows Essentials again and am currently using the basic parental control Windows7, but really want to use the Windows parental control program.  Do you have any suggestions?

• Downgraded from Windows 7 RC1 for Vista Home Premium - now cant access partition Bitlocked

  I've been running Win 7 RC1 7100 32 bit on my laptop since its release and found absolutely great and have not been issued with it either. Unfortunately I had to return to my previous operating system, Vista Home Premium because of the RC1 of the trial is about to expire. (I have not yet bought my new copy of Windows 7 Home Premium).
  I had a configuration partition C and D under WIn 7 RC1, with D used to store personal data.  I used Bitlocker the lock on this partition.  I prepare to remove RC1 this weekend I moved all my other documents and downloads of the libraries under the D partition C for later access and moving them back to C when Vista was facing up and running.
  But when I tried to access the drive D Vista he invites me to format this drive.  When I looked under administrative tools - disk management it says that the D partition is secure by Bitlocker.
  How can I access my data on the D partition?  I have a good amount of photos on the D drive and I still need!
  I thought to download Win 7 RC1 again to install it so I can have access to the Bitlocker tool, but I can't find it on the Net.
  Please any help would be appreciated.

• I changed my two monitor now cannot access these windows open in the other monitor

  I have several monitors for my Win7 (two).

  Previously, I had my main screen on the left and put some of my apps on the right screen.

  Now, I've changed my screen main to the right, and all the apps that I had placed on the right are off the screen. Reduce and restore I see than Casement Windows back / just to the right of my screen, but the mouse will not go because my 2nd screen is now on the left.

  How can I get back them?

  Select the applications on the taskbar window and then press repeatedly the logo key Windows & arrow to the left until it is on your current screen.

  You will need to do this, whenever you close an application on an external monitor (if you then disconnect or do it in a different position) then applications are trying to map the location that was when they were last opened.

I used the windows backup feature to back up all my files on the D drive. Then I did the clean install. But now I can't get the files on the C drive.   I am running Windows 7 and use parental control for several years.  My kids use Google Chrome with GMail and GoogleDrive for a lot of their homework.  In recent days on the child accounts Chrome slow down considerably with the message "establish a secure connection" when it starts for centuries, and then finally "Gmail App is not available".  After trying everything else (cookies, compensation, disabling extensions, historical disconnect account) I turned off parental control of Microsoft, and Chrome came back to life.  I've now changed the security settings to "block adult sites" to "warn on adult sites" and Chrome works very well.  I'm not happy to leave this setting to warn but need to at the moment, so that they can do their homework.  Is this a Microsoft problem or is there anything else I can try to solve it?

• Windows Live Family Safety - menu start closes

  I have recently installed Windows Live Family Safety on two desktop computers.  Menus to start the computer both are now practically unusable.  The start menu closes / disappears in the opening moments.  It took several attempts to be fast enough to click on start, then on the button restart button.

  After many attempts, I was able to open the control panel.  In the Parental controls window, down under additional controls. I changed the selected provider of Windows Live Family Safety to zero.  Without even closing the window of Parental control, the start menu resumed its normal operation.  When I cycle between zero and Windows Live Family Safety menu start immediately works or does not work according to the configuration.

  Given that he is on both computers is a setting in WLFS or this, I chose a big bug that makes unusable WLFS?  (Hard to believe)

  All windows updates have been applied and multiple reboots have been attempted.

  I would like to use the product and would appreciate any help.

  I set up parental controls for a child almost a year back

  and it has worked perfectly until about a month.

  Now he sends to empty activity reports

• Family Safety Windows blocking is not enough

  I have activated Windows parental controls for a child account on Windows 8.1 and disabled all applications that are registered except Chrome.

  I tested and it blocks a lot of things, but allows much more than just Chrome.

  I disabled the downloads in the center of the family, but downloading files via Chrome still works.

  Once connected was - this child account, I opened regedit and was able to tinker around in the registry and change everything that can create or modify a standard user account.

  Notepad works.  I created a .bat with some commands file and saved to the desktop.  Then, I clicked on it and run the script without any problems.

  Turn off all the sliders to block applications seems to give a false impression that the user is locked a lot more than they really are.

  Are there other applications and executable blocking settings that can be activated in the parental control?

  How can I set this up so that the child's account runs, which is expressly authorized in the white list and no other programs such as regedit, notebook, random scripts, etc.. ?

  I want this Windows system either as malware as possible evidence all being usable for surfing the web like a Chromebook, but this does not do.

  If the download blocking only works for IE, I couldn't remove Chrome in the list allow applications, but this still does not resolve the other issues listed.

  Safe family activity reports will include sites that are visited but blocked. Also, sites that was redirected from other sites, or use a feature of this site (such as the Facebook Like function and share) will add also upward to the activity report.

  I suggest you to check by accessing the Web site of the child's account. Also, make sure that the child's account does not use proxy connections.

• Family safety has stopped working - Windows 7

  I stopped to receive information on the activiteis of my children.

  When I go to the family safety website - the main family PC watch is more.  I reinstalled Security essentials and restarted.

  I checked and the WPCMon process is not running and there is nothing in the status bar for the safety of the family system.
