Check memory on remote PC

How can I find out how much memory is installed on a remote PC running Windows 7?  I used to be able to do this in Windows XP Pro as follows: right click on 'my computer' and select 'manage '. Right-click "computer management" and select "connect to another computer."  Enter the name of the computer. Now right-click to new "computer management" and select "Properties".  In seconds, you can see the amount of memory, as well as the CPU and other info.  If I try the same thing in Windows 7, I can't find "Properties" when I right click on "computer management".  Thank you.

Maybe check the logs of the systems involved.

Otherwise, it seems that you can adapt the script here to get this detail...

    Hello

This behavior can occur if a hardware component malfunctions, or if it has installed the damaged or incompatible drivers.
I think that you should remove the driver updated or installed first.
If this does not work, test the laptop with preinstalled system cool.

Finally if this is insufficient, a hardware malfunction might be possible.
In this case the RAM modules need to be tested as the first part.

    Can you help me?

You can test yourself by removing the bars of memory.

Put one of them into the soDIMM slot then power and closest to you inside the laptop on the laptop.

If Notepad boots into Windows and do not present problems or the faiols the test of memory, while you have not installed the module has problems and needs to be replaced by an identical to one that is installed.

If the problem persists, then try to replace the module installed with the other and run the same test.

Based on your configuration, it can vary, below link has someVPN failover configurations, you can find a few commands to check redundancy on your network:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/iOS/12_2/12_2y/12_2yx11/feature/guide/ft_vpnha.html#wp1093554

What you should look at your config running is also based on your configuration, it should be something like: main, standby or emergency.

I do haave to do with the use of a service name.

And that service re-present another name database.

But what I did not / do not have any service/database oracle on the remote server.
I just want this place to be an additional backup for my archive logs location.

You can use OS commands to do this (not reliable), but if want to do so you need a database in waiting on the other side:

Q2) in the event of any scenario, arch and cannot write to the location of destinataion (e.g., complete hard drive) how many times it retries? If the attempts may be unlimited? I don't want to lose all logs archived.

REOPEN=n sets the minimum number of seconds before ARCn should try to reopen a failed destination. The default value for n is 300 seconds. A value of 0 is the same as turning off the REOPEN option. In other words, ARCn will not attempt to archive after a failure. If you do not specify the REOPEN keyword, ARCn will never reopen a destination following an error.

You cannot use REOPEN to specify a limit on the number of attempts to reconnect and transfer archived logs. The REOPEN attempt either succeeds or fails, in which case the REOPEN information is reset.

If you specify REOPEN for an OPTIONAL destination, Oracle can overwrite online logs if there is an error. If you specify REOPEN for a MANDATORY destination, Oracle stalls the production database when it cannot successfully archive.

    Kind regards

    Hello!

In your case, I would check the RAM, I think that's the problem.

You can do this with Memtest86:

Memtest86 is a diagnostic tool to check the RAM. Here, you can also download a CD image.
It s easy to use. Run the test of 3-4 hours and then you will see if the RAM has some errors.

    Hi Jericho,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

Since you are facing a problem to activate the option "offer remote assistance" in the client PC, the question you posted would be better suited for the IT Pro on TechNet public. I would recommend posting your query in the TechNet Forums to get help:

Not really feasible at the level of PL/SQL.

The reason is that the greatest strength of TCP's robustness. TCP will try as hard as possible to succeed, before failing. It was designed to still work on the severely damaged or broken communication as a result of nuclear infrastructure. A TCP connection can take up to 15 minutes, maybe even more, before failing. It can be as slow as a turtle-, but he's wearing a hardshell. (unlike the UDP, which is the opposite)

So if you want to test the TCP connectivity, you must design your own custom code to implement your assumptions about the latency of packets, earthquakes and drops and so on.

Otherwise, you will need to use a standard TCP socket, set a time limit, try to login - and hope for the best.

This approach, I have demonstrated in {message identifier: = 10111306}.

If the TCP test works, it means that the listener is in place. Does not mean that the database itself is in place. Which means then using a database link to be tested. And this in turn can hang due to problems with archive record being stuck, not enough idle servers shared, etc..

  • Satellite Pro P200: Cannot install Server 2003 - parity memory error

I have a Satellite Pro P200 and to the work required to install Windows 2003 server on it, but all I get is an error message:

    -Hardware malfunction

Call your provider of support material

NMI: Parity check / memory parity error

    -The system is shut down

I checked the memory and everything seems OK. Vista runs very well on it, and all memory is recognized. I tried different flavors of Server 2003, although all I need is standard edition. Anyone who has met this problem, or someone has any suspicion as to how I can get it operational.

So, how tested the RAM? With Memtest? Or Prime95?

I read in many forums that people work servers (no laptop...) SERVERS) that correctly work 1 year with ECC memory, then windows 2003 server gives the same error message you have.

I mean if Vista works flawlessly and you checked as you say the RAM while there could be a mismatch which must not be for lack of toshibas.
Maybe you should try a linux ubuntu server edition, which works great on almost * ALL * systems, even on systems with faulty CPU/memory (Ok, ok, not 100%, but it works, I got this case :))

So, maybe you can try to exchange the RAM, but if you're still the same error then ask microsoft or try another P200, if they are available.

Sorry dude, but I Don t have a lot of ideas in your situation :/

    Welcome them

    Hello

I tried a bit with Google and it seems that this message apperas caused a faulty RAM or HARD drive. So, you should try to test the two pieces of material with special test tools:

    http://www.HitachiGST.com/HDD/support/download.htm#DFT
With the Drive Fitness Test, you can test your HARD drive. Download the CD image, burn it to a CD and boot from it. Then you can test the HARD drive.
On the same site is a user's guide if you want to know more.

    http://Memtest86.com/
Memtest86 is a diagnostic tool to check the RAM. Here, you can also download a CD image.
It s easy to use. Run the test of 3-4 hours and then you will see if the RAM has some errors.

    I hope it's useful for you! :)
