Cisco wap4410n

Hello, I recently bought a cisco wap4410n for my lab at home, I have set up and it was running perfect

Here I have something that I noticed: when I created the ssid of 3rd, computers could not ping each other

example: ssid 1 - pc1 can ping pc2

2 - pc1 SSID can ping pc2

SSID 3 - pc1 is unable to ping pc2, two pcs can ping to the gateway by default (10.1.70.2), but they're not mutually exclusive, ping

and if pc1 is the SSID 1 and pc2 is the SSID 3, they can all two ping between them, but if I put both the SSID 3 they ping each other

can someone help me?

Hello

It seems that you have enabled the wireless SSID 3 isolation function.

Since the administration guide:

Security

The wireless > Security page displays the settings of the access point wireless security. To configure the settings of the access point wireless security, follow these steps:

Click Wireless > Security.

To set wireless SSID between insulation:

a. in the dropdown select SSID select a SSID.

b. to isolate customers wireless, click active. Otherwise, click disabled.

To prevent computers wireless associated with the same SSID to see and transfer files between them, in the field of insulation wireless (SSID) inside, click active.

  • SSLv3 WAP4410N is no longer supported in Chrome, Firefox

    Hi all

I have a Cisco WAP4410N maintenance a small office for the technicians of the drop-in to connect to our LAN, no heavy traffic or fancy management put in place, they don't see it as a wireless access point can connect to the Internet and access a few Samba Sharing.

Recently I was making mistakes in Chrome and Firefox that SSL version used by the device is longer supported.

    Chrome (v 40.0.2214.111 m).

A secure connection cannot be established because this site uses a protocol not supported.
    Error code: ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH

    Since Firefox (v 35.0.1).

Firefox cannot guarantee the security of your data on 192.168.128.1, because it uses SSLv3, a broken security protocol.
    Advanced information: ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap

The device is running version 2.0.7.4 firmware, released January 2014, y at - there no way to bypass this SSL error? So far, I was able to connect to the unit using THE 11, but I'd rather solve the problem causing the error SSL rather than using it as a work-around. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Hi guys,.

problem is solved in firmware that is never released publicly - 2.0.7.6T1 or 2.0.7.6T2 (the two Beta status). These units are already EoL (which means that no new firmware is planned to be released) I suggest you open the service request to a Small Business Support Center (HWC) and ask the last beta firmware.

  • SG300 - 28 p: POE power drops every few minutes

    Hi all

We have a SG300 - 28 p which, at intervals between 5 and 30 minutes or more, lower power to all its ports POE-powered and then immediately restores power. Switch logs nothing when this happens other than to record that the ports went down and back up, even with debug logging enabled. Non - POE ports are not affected.

When the problem started there were only four POE devices on the switch and we are far under our power budget. (During the test, I added a fifth device, see below.)

Not all combinations of devices cause the drops occur - specifically, it seems that having devices on ports next to each other causing the drops. When the drops occur, absent the increment of POE devices all counters. I noticed this thread earlier here seemed similar:

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/thread/2165089

but in this case, he got no power at all in the adjacent configurations, instead of having to drop all the several minutes.

Hi Rich, reference this photo I just drew is a rough interpretation of how a switch 24 ports has guts. Each + block represents a processor. The numbers below represent the port Bank that corresponds to the transformer. Of course, MODULE POE is clearly identified. Each module 12 POE ports for services.

I think you have a completely different question. If the POE works for 5 to 30 minutes, it can be a problem of layer 1 (bad son) or a different, perhaps material condition being disturbed. If the switch is at fault, it seems more likely to be defective to a unit of buggy.  I did a lot of research on the operation of the switch ASIC, transformer and modules of POE in the cohesion.

Quite frankly, I think you should go to the 1.2.7.76 firmware, factory reset the device and test all the ports you want using the same equipment. If maintaining the POE fall every 5 to 30 minutes and you are absolutely positive, that it is not a question of layer 1 or a configuration problem on your products, can I just replace the switch.

  • Problem with SG-200 and access point on VLAN

I'm having some problems with the configuration of VLANS on the SG-200 and the WiFi access point. The access point (a TP-Link WA801N) is able to access the internet when it is plugged into a port that is on the default VLAN (1 PVID). If I plug it into one of the other VLAN then all clients connected to WiFi to lose access to the internet and can not access on the local VIRTUAL network devices. I'm not sure if it's something wrong with the way I configured the switch or a problem with the access point.

    Iain,

You have virtual local networks put in place on your router? The subnets that you use on each vlan? The router will give DHCP for each vlan?

The SG200 isn't a fully managed layer 3 switch, it's just a "smart switch" so you can not actually be able to do simply only switch. A sg300 mode layer 3 would be able to do this because it is a fully managed switch.

If the router is configured with the VLAN, vlan 1 unidentified, the rest the tag, the router-> SG200 port is trunking and the others as access ports on their vlan respective. Once the router is configured, this video contributor forum albums and Cisco employee David Hornstein is very useful to correctly configure the switch.

    Best,

    David

  • WAP4410N existing other than Cisco network gateway

    Hello

I was wondering if someone can quickly answer my question?

I am trying to use my WAP4410N to create a wireless bridge to an existing network that does not contain any Cisco kit. After reading the manual, I tried the bridge WDS wireless solution, which is my router wireless D-Link & MAC address, but there is no option to put in network WPA2 key, I guess I misunderstood how this feature works, & maybe it works with other products of Cisco wireless?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed light on my question,

    Andy

Sent by Cisco Support technique iPhone App

    HI Andy,.

Noramlly that configure you WDS Bridge would need to implement WPA 2 personal option under the wireless part, and then click Security.

Since the SSID and security must be the same, is that were you would enter information. As to make this set your work with a D-Link wireless router, you'll never miss that probably the question were that this wireless device must support WDS. Even then you might also encounter a question having no match wireless chipsets as well.

More than likely that this configuration will not work for you. I advise to use an other WAP4410n to establish the connection. Rely on what you are wanting to do a WET200 may also work for you since its just fill a wireless network and only use WDS, but I have never tested this connection with a D-link router so I can't 100% guaranteed if this implementation will work as well or not.

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions.

    Thank you

  • WAP4410n to WAP351 migration

    Hello

We use the WAP4410n AP device for a long time, but it was interrupted, and now we have bought a PT WAP351 which gives me problems trying to set up the same way as I did with the 4410n. It doesn t seem to suport of WEP encryption (however I see WEP options on the user manual) and also I m note able to get communication when you use the Wireless Client/Repeater option. I ve attached 4 pictures of what I'm trying to do with the new model compared to the 4410n. Is that possible or we had the wrong model?

    VID PID: WAP351-E-K9 V01

    Firmware version: 1.0.0.39

    WAP4410N AP mode

WAP 351 AP mode? I associated with my hand AP but I communication (ping response) to it. Maybe that's not what I'm looking for. Also my network gets collapsed after a few minutes with this connection.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Thank you for the great question. what you see is the result of some recent wireless incorporated standards. You don't see WEP security is because you have selected as the signal 802.11b/g/n. If you change the 802. 11 b/g you will be able to select WEP as the security type.

I would caution the use of 'WEP' since it is a hack easy encryption and if you want to use the N signal you will only be able to use WPA or WPA Enterprise.

    Hope this helps you.

  • WAP4410N-wall access point?

    Hello everyone,

I have a small question about the WAP4410N access point.

Is it possible to get this access point to a wall or ceiling?

I already read the technical sheets and documentation related to this access point, but found nothing.

  • integrated macOS Sierra Cisco IPsec VPN does not work anymore (impossible to validate the server certificate)

    Hello

I just upgraded to macOS Sierra and built-in Cisco IPsec VPN no longer works. When you try to connect, I get a "cannot validate the certificate of the server. "Check your settings and try to reconnect" error message. I use Cisco ASA with self-signed certificates and everything worked fine with previous versions of OS X.

Please help me, I need my VPN Thx a lot

I am having the same problem with StrongSwan and help cert signed with the channel to complete certificates included in the pkcs12 file imported to the keychain. It was working properly in El Capitan, but now broken in the Sierra.

  • Cisco VPN does not work in the Sierra

I just upgraded to OS Sierra and the Cisco VPN, I had the installer does connect more.  The Setup looks right into network preferences. When I click it looks like it is trying but stops without asking for a password.

Cisco VPN client may need to update or re-installed. If she uses the PPTP Protocol, it will not work. Support for PPTP was ignored, because it is no longer considered as secure.
