    You are the very welcome.

You have to have XP SP3 installed for the wireless to work right, or you must have this patch for SP 2.

  • is windows xp home edition compatible with gateway mseries laptop?

I want to convert my computer laptop gateway mseries from windows vista to windows xp home edition.  the specs for the laptop are the following: manufacturer: gateway, model: m7315u processor: intel dual core 2 GHz ram p.: 1.5 GB I have windows xp home edition activation code, but he lost the installation cd and I'm tired of every time that I try to do something that requires administrative permission (which my user account has) the computer crashes.  I know that windows xp home edition is being abandoned, but she always work better for me than windows vista (in my opinion)

    Hi Xircal,

The computer manufacturer often have the same drivers for a series model they release

But the OP would be wasting their time on installing XP, so bridge never provided XP drivers for this particular model. This is one of the reasons why I suggested that the OP contact Gateqway Support.

The point of the OP's question is that they want to replace Vista by XP

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Here's the line of the OP: "I want to convert my computer laptop gateway mseries from windows vista to windows xp home edition.

In the link you give, it shows being available for model 7300 XP drivers.

As the OP says that Vista is installed, why this model 7300 only Vista drivers available for it by default, if it is the same material as the M-7315u?

Did you use the recovery process HP plant or install using a different operating system disk? If the latter, you need to install the drivers for all your hardware, including drivers for wireless network cards. You will get only the pilot specific support for your laptop model HP Web site tech.

If by "wireless card" you mean that you have a 3G USB modem through your cell phone provider, contact the cell phone provider for help with that. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • After sysytem restored in windows 7 Home Edition, laptop can't connect to the internet.

    Personal salvation of support
I have a lenovo laptop with windows 7 Home Edition on it, whenever I have a system restore I have following problem with network connection.

    • WiFi: the problem with the Wi - Fi connection is it says it has limited connection to the internet, the system receives a valid ip address of modem/router (DHCP). But system is unable to ping the address of the router (gateway address), similarly it cannot ping localhost or 127.0.0.1. It says general failure. Then I try to give the IP address manually on the wireless card, but I have the same problems
    • Wired: when I turn off the wireless connection and want to connect to the laptop via a network cable to the router I have the same problem, it cannot ping the localhost or 127.0.0.1.

I tried the following, but it didn't work.

    • ipconfig enough and ipconfig/renew
    • Flushing the DNS system
    • netsh winsock reset all.
    • netsh int ip reset all.

I saw several online forums, but couldn't find the solution to this problem, the only solution is to restore the system to factory setting, and then it works. Wired and wireless network works fine

What is the solution to this problem, this is not an appropriate solution, is it a windows M S for this solution.

    Your help is highly appreciated

    Thank you

    Tahir

Open network and sharing Center, click on your wireless network connection.
Click Properties, double-click Internet Version 4 Protocol.
Select obtain an IP automatically, and select obtain dns server address automatically.
    check if it works
    method 2:
This is perhaps a problem with your wifi driver.

Open Control Panel, click hardware and sound. under devices and printers, click Device Manager. Expand network adapters and then double-click your network adapter. go to the driver tab and then click on set to update driver (leave the pc it automatically searches). • Can I get a restore CD from HP for my Windows Vista Home Edition?

No fees + port, of course, since it is a genuine copy of Vista system? I still have

  • Addition of Service Pack 3 for Windows XP Home Edition creates the system failure

We have an older Compaq Presario that came with Windows XP Home Edition. [a Pentium 1 2005]
I try to install Windows Live Onecare (free Qwest).  When I update our Windows XP Home with Service Pack 3, when I reboot I get a black screen that says that there is an error with a recent change of hardware or drivers. So I boot safe mode.
There has been no hardware changes.
I did a destructive restore by using the Compaq recovery disk which is supposed to wipe the drive and reinstall everything.
I can update Windows XP with service pack 3 and everything works.  When I install Windows Live Onecare, at the next restart I get the same black screen and need to start in safe mode.
I can do a destructive restore and load Windows Live Onecare and work without any problem as long as I do not install Service Pack 3.
I tried to make recovery of Windows with the same results.  I can do a restore before any point where I do not have the Windows Live Onecare and the Service Pack 3 and everything works fine.

So I guess that there is a conflict between Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Windows Live Onecare on this computer.  I have both works well on other computers in our home network, but they are Pentium III or higher.

Anyone know if there is a difficulty, or just simply never through my XP Home SR3?

    TIA, LR0451

  • Windows XP Home Edition does not load in any mode after reboot to uninstall Norton

I wanted to get rid of Norton anti-virus, then, I have downloaded and run the Norton Uninstaller. After what seemed an eternity he finished and asked me to restart the computer to complete the uninstalation. I clicked the botton "Restart now" and after the screen, which shows the bios is nothing. No loading screen, no beeps or anything else, just black. In addition, it does the same thing in all modes.

I removed the HDD and an IDE to USB for connecting to my mobile backup (Win7 Ultimate) and performed a virus with TrendMicro Titanium antivirus scan + and scan with malewarebytes paid version maleware. No virus or maleware found. So, I ran a check/repair through backup with no found error disc.

I do not have a XP or 7 CD repair/install, nor am I money right now. I really need to get going again.

    Infected computer:

    Compaq Presario M2000

    Windows XP Home Edition SP3

Processor Intel Centrino Pentium M 1.5 GHz

    1 GB of RAM

    Intel Extreme Graphics 2

    Machine backup:

    Dell Inspiron 1501

    Windows 7 Ultimate Edition SP2

    AMD Turion 64 MK - 36 2.0 GHz

    3 GB RAM

    Integrated ATI Radeon Xpress 1150

Looks like you somehow corrupted the bootloader.

If I'm not mistaken, you can technically download disc for Microsoft Windows XP SP3 OEM HOME legally, as long as you use your current license.

You can also communicate with Compaq and request a repair disk.

The message you receive indicates imminent hard drive failure. There are has a few tools out there like Hard Drive re-Builder who allegedly fix otherwise unrecoverable disk sectors. However, these are not freeware, which means you would have to pay for the tool. At the time when you did that you could buy a new hard drive.

In addition, according to my research your laptop is quite old. Pentium III is very outdated. My advice to you is to get your data on the hard disk immediately regardless of whether you intend to repair the computer laptop or not. I would use the laptop as possible to extend the period of time for you to get your data. I was then looking in a new computer.
