Computer itself restored to the State of the plant.

A web surfing to start my computer give me all sorts of error messages.  Then it restarts itself and now back to factory settings and all my files are gone!  The Start button no longer works.  Any program that I click on activate only opens towards the top of the same window again.  I have to you a click right on it and it say open to run.  Can someone help me to recover my computer to the way it was?  Because it has been reset to the factory settings, there is no restore point!

Hello

You have begun a recovery of the factory, there are probably little you can do unless you created a backup image at some point prior to this event. Once the plant is essentially a process of 'clean and reload' do not keep existing installation or it back up to a windows.old folder as would an upgrade on the spot.

The best that you can hope is to use a recovery tool file like the one below the link to get all the files from the previous installation whose file space was not replaced.

On the question of the start menu, you may need to rerun the factory reset as part of the reinstall have been damaged by problems regardless of the system. It is also possible that the initial mistakes were due to a hardware failure that must be processed before that the system will work properly.

Fortunately, I solved the problem myself (after 19 hours of stress).
The problem is that the recent hard disk has something different that no longer ages and makes pre-service pack 1 (SP1 solves the problem) versions of Windows 7 incompatible. My set of recovery disks have been created the day I bought the computer, which had no windows updates installed at the time.

There is an "easy solution" on the Microsoft support site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2466753/en-us

Unfortunately, their method works only if you have a Windows 7 installation disc, which does most of the people who buy computers pre-built manufacturers. Essentially, the solution is to install SP1 from a disc when don't give you the possibility to load drivers during installation, an option that the gateway recovery disks.

So I thought that, theoretically, if I use my recovery discs to get a clean install on a hard drive that works, then use windows update to get updated (or at least to get SP1), and then make a set of NEW recovery disks (using windows backup: start > all programs > maintenance > Backup and Restore), I should be able to use these discs to install the new hard disk.

    It worked.

So for someone else who has this same problem with new hard disks, I hope that the above is easy to understand. If not, ask someone else more savvy and show them this thread. Do not forget that at the end to create new recovery disks, it will ask you if you also want to create a 'system' repair disc. DO THIS! This is the disk that you need to start from when you are ready to install.

Also: If your new hard drive is bigger than the one that you have created the new recovery disks, the partition on your new hard drive (once everything is installed) will be the same size as the one that you have created the records on. You will need to use a kind of editor of score for re - size. I recommend Gnome Partition Editor. http://www.gparted.org

Burn gparted Live CD and him, resize your partition, and you're done (google for more in-depth instructions).

    Hello

Here are the different ways to reinstall vista

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a microsoft dvd vista

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

Hi, I just refreshed my laptop that I got a few drops FPS at random. Initially, it worked fine, but after a while before instaled Norton started to cause me problems. At this time I uninstalled it and when he asked me to computer restatr now, I did. Now I'm stuck with this message window loading. Restart the computer from time to time, but the message is always the same: failure of configuration of Windows updates. Restoration of the changes. Do not turn off your computer.
    Computer: hp pavilion n006sm
    Operating system: win 8 pre-installed
At the moment I'm stuck on this window for over an hour and nothing has changed

Seems that problem solved by itself. As I correctly uninstalled Norton, I just put my automatic updates and restarted my laptop again. He installed the updates with no problem and its working fine. Seems that Norton was really the problem, will keep you informed.

  • Material of restoration to the original state of the manufacturer will make legitimate recovery discs work?

    Hello.

    Back story:
I tried to create a system to dual-boot with Windows XP and Windows Me on a PC from Hewlett Packard, model a350n, to facilitate access to the old and more recent examples of software in my computer.  Operating systems that are installed properly, however, when running Windows Me, I noticed that the system has detected a large number of hardware problems and a number of missing drivers. I have no problems the first time I installed Windows Me, and I realized that this must have been the existence of partition recovery console Hewlett Packard, who was at the current time, where the Windows Me operating system can locate the necessary drivers for the PC to operate.  Since the deletion of this partition (which I foolishly declared unnecessary from there), problems of hardware in the BIOS, PCI slots, sound cards, etc. exist in abundance.

    Issue to be addressed:
The main concern is this: I have no legitimate recovery CDs that I received directly at HP, but when I use them, even if they have worked in the past, I thought that the discs do not support my HP model.  I've made several changes to the hardware (for example, replace the graphics card, some CD-Rom drives, additional memory, along with other things).  Cancellation and so restore the material to the original state of the computer will CDs recognizes the HP model once more?

    Thank you very much!

UPDATE: I tried to return the PC to its original state by removing the extra material and restore that which has been deleted.  We had another similar model of HP with similar CD - RW, CD - R and DVD - ROM drives, so I'm only 95% some that I replaced those that actually are came with this PC.  It would make a difference?  The result is that the recovery disks, which are legitimately HP, not home-made copies, and which were used successfully in the past in this same model, has not recognized the model of PC than they were designed for, even if they are a match.  This may be the cause?  And what can I do about it?  My backup files can be done quickly and efficiently, if I don't mind having to do something eventually destructive, as long as I get those recovery CD to do their job.  It is essential that I restore the PC to its factory condition.

    Thank you!

    Hello Taran_Wanderer,

Unfortunately there is little that can be done on the side Microsoft.  It's HP to provide you with the disks appropriate for your machine model.

You can look in an update of the BIOS from HP, but honestly, I don't know if this will have an effect on the question of whether or not the HP recovery disks will work.

    Best regards

After restart my Asus X55oE due to necessary updates, I got «default configure features windows.» Restoration of the changes. Do not turn off your computer. Some of these forums say that it can take 2 hours or more because of so many updates made at the same time. I think I was trying to upgrade windows 8 for windows 8.1.

I'm really worried about it just because I just got back this PC from ASUS and am needing to work. Can someone tell me if there are other options or make sure that it just take a while? I also read that you can actually go to the control panel > windows update > help to erase mistakes. Also, someone said that you can customize the number of updates at a time can be both.
