  • Slow wireless connectivity with WRT54GS

If I connect to the router with a LAN, I get ~ 63Mbps, but whenever I try to go wireless, the speed goes down between 12-15Mbps (at best). There is no update of the firmware for the router, and I am at a loss to the extent where how to get the best speed via a wireless connection. FYI, I have security WPA2 value, but I don't seem to lose a lot of speed (as appropriate) as a result of the security is enabled. I REALLY want to get the best speed via a wireless connection, but I am fairly new to try to figure out what kind of things networking, any help would be appreciated!

The router is capable of speed of wireless connection reaching up to 54 Mbps. With today's ' Smart' technology, it would be a smart move, upgrade to a new router. Get a N router, if this isn't an AC, rather than keep the G one.

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300-1EA - wireless connection, drop all the time

Hi, I have a problem with my wireless connection fall all the time on my Satellite Pro A300 1EA.

It happened earlier, but I've fiddled about a little with change of drivers and the removal of the connection settings for the registry and it then worked fine for months, until yesterday.

There were several updates for Windows installed yesterday, but none of them have been updated driver for the wireless card, and they don't look like they should cause problems. The fact that the problem happened before makes me think that the updates can be anything to do with it.

I use the * Intel PRO/Wireless 3945/4965/5100/5300 * for Vista 32 - bit version 12.2.0.11.3 drivers from the Toshiba download page.

Other computers on the same access point have no problem, so I think it is specific to this laptop. The connection speed is normally 6 Mbps, but I cannot even check e-mail now without the abandonment of the connection.

Laptop will be thrown against a wall soon if no one can help you.

    Thanks in advance.

Edit: I've already made sure power settings are at maximum to the WLAN card, even if on battery, or what power management.

    Hello

Have you tried to use the Windows System Restore feature? After that your WLAN should work fine again.

In addition, I can recommend the latest WLAN driver in the Intel page, it s version 12.4.xxxx. I installed the driver on my Qosmio laptop and don t have any problems with it: [www.intel.com].

  • HP Pavilion G6: Wireless connection slow

    Hello

Given that I update to windows 10 my wireless connection is slower.

Test on speedtest.net in my house, dowload speed is at best 1, 5mbps and download 2.5 Mbps (which is strange uploading faster than downloading) and at the same time my other laptop Acer becomes 7, 5mbps download and the same 2.5 Mbit/s in upload. In my house, I have a service of the internet 3G / 4G.

    Hi @miguelsoare,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems, with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Notebook g6 and issues with slow wireless speeds. Here is a link for troubleshooting wireless connection, if you need.

If the problem persists, I would change the channel on the router. Routers are able to communicate to your laptop on several different channels. Sometimes, this fixes the speeds.

Some say that it helps to fix this Microsoft Fix it.

Here is a link to help as well.

Please let me know how it goes.

    Thank you.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8620: Wireless connection is 'hogging' my bandwidth on router

Until this week, I have always connected my computer to my router via an ethernet cable direct. But recently I had to move my router to a different location so decided to use the wireless on my printer to connect to my computer (laptop). When I noticed that my wireless connection for the interest rate has been substantially reduced I started checking all computer products in my house (two IPAD, a desktop and my laptop). What I've discovered, it's my 8620 was "hogging" bandwidth of the connection to the router wireless. Even if the printer is not used (but on) he continues to reduce the speed of my connection to the computer. I discovered this by:

    (a) I disabled all the computers & IPADs, but left the printer on - the wireless light on the router keeps blinking like crazy

    (b) I turned off my printer with my computer and connection speed instantly jumped about 3 x the speed

So, with the printer off, the speed of my connection to the computer is about 3 times faster. I do not quite understand this and wonder why the printer connection to the wireless router is "hogging" bandwidth when the printer is not yet used?

    Someone has an idea?

    Hey @kenz1-_,.

  • Wireless fails & can't get wireless connection tab is displayed

I can't connect to the Internet wirelessly. I have a Dell Latitude E6510 with a Half-Mini of WLAN Wireless-N DW1501 card.  According to the website of Dell and the Dell technician who tried to help me, I in fact installed the right driver for the card: the DW WLAN Card Utility.

The driver recognizes my U-Verse (router) gateway, but my browser cannot see the web. I've tried everything I can think of but to no avail. I tried:
    turn on/off Wireless Auto Configuration
-deactivation of the DW WLAN Card Utility
-modification of the parameters of the utility (for example, turning off the option to let the utility manage wireless)
    -Uninstall and reinstall the utility

VERY IMPORTANT: A constant is that the wireless network connection dialog box does not always display the Wireless Connection tab. I think if I can just come back to this tab, I can have Windows configure my wireless and everything will be fine.

Reason do not use Ethernet adapter was because in the taskbar bar, there was a "Network cable unplugged" warning (internet technician did not want or did not know how) to solve the problem. It's easier and faster just to put the adapter ASIX.    My problem is after about 20 minutes. my connection speed is slower than the previous 56K modem. I have to constantly repair the IP address just to stay online when the settings are set to AUTO FIND the IP address, gateway server and DNS servers. Hello

    1. don't you make changes to your machine before the problem?
    2. you have any device near your router that may be in conflict with the signal?

If so, make sure that devices such as radio, microwaves, mobile phones are kept at Bay.

In the meantime, I wish that you follow the steps mentioned below.

    Method 1:

Update your AX88772 6 USB2.0 to Fast Ethernet network card of manufacturer's site and see if it helps.

    Method 2:

You can also test the problem in safe mode with network.

If the methods above are little help, you may need to contact your Internet Service Provider for the best help that can be also with slow Internet or abandon the connection.

Let us know the status of the issue.

  • Speed EA4200 wireless problems

    Hello

I just bought the EA4200, and I find that the speed wireless connection failed. I'm not a superwiz to computers and especially not as routers, but I do know most of the basics and how to interact with routers, etc.

in any case, when I test my connection via an Ethernet cable via the router that I get about 90 m/bits-per-second download, but when I connect with my WIFI this speed is only about 11 m/bits per second. I tried with several units (2 PC and Playstation 3) in my house and the same result, even if the download speed varies somewhat (8-11 m/bits where I with Ethernet to move 30 m/bit)

Now... I live in an apartment with tons of networks around me, I have more conscience puts a limit on this, but come on? Can it really be true that it's all EA can muster? I thought the dualband was supposed to be the best? What I don't use? What can I do?

I tried to turn off the channels 2.4 Ghz, which is just the single 5 GHz to the active channel. This resulted in most of my wireless devices cannot connect wirelessly at all. I turned it back on. I did a few google searches, but to no avail. What do you suggest to me that I do? My old Netgear router and not dualband, did a better job?

Thanks in advance for your answers

You'll have a problem with a lot of AP autour 2.4 that is for sure.  However, make sure that you use WPA2-AES encryption.  Check if WMM is it on or off, test both on and then off.

Oh, you realize that you need an adapter dual-band capable of 802.11 a/b/g/n to connect to the 5 GHz band?

  • EA3500 very slow wireless connection

When I test my connection speed wireless with Linksys EA3500 get one only 5 Mbps download speed, if I connect my computer directly to the modem from my ISP I get a speed of 30Mpbs, someone has an idea why such a huge difference or have ideas I can speed thing on my wireless connection, no problem of co-location the wireless device which is 5 ft of the computer and only one switched printer connection Othere to my network wireless off?

Maybe it is better because it can become very complicated when troubleshooting these issues

  • Bad speed of wireless internet on EA4500

Hello everyone. I have an ea4500 wireless router, I tested the speed at speedtest.net and wireless, I get around 9 Mbit/s. My speed is 23 MB/s when I hard wired the pc.

I check the speed on a Tablet (), pc and a mac about 5 feet away from the router with no walls or something between the two devices.

I checked all the settings, but I don't see anything wrong, I've changed to N mode just to make sure that I use the top speed.

All my devices are able to use N.

My experience on this is not good and that's why I ask your help, thanks a lot.

Redefine the Mode Wireless on joint. 2.4 GHz settings, change the width of the channel to 20 MHz only and select a specific channel. Recommended channel would be 1, 6 or 11. Download inSSIDer to find out which channel is not too crowded. Follow the link provided by jlbjlb.

Another thing that could affect the wireless connection is the location of the router. Make sure that it is on an open and superior location. Make sure it is not next to a metal object or other device which transmits/receives/frequency of the wireless signal. Also, make sure that it is not too close to your modem.

  • Wireless connection is slower than the hard line on WRT54G. Why?

    I adjust the wireless connection

    Base rate: all THE

    Transmission rate: 54Mbps

It is still slow as a wired connection. Is this because the WEP security settings?

    Best regards

Yes, WPA2-AES can go up to 300 Mbps (or more) on the bands of 2.4 and 5 Ghz as long as your wireless adapter supported this speed.

  • WRT160N Wireless connectivity limited or not

Hello. I have a WRT160N router set up on a XP computer with DSL service. Have a Realtek to connect to the network local and Marvell Yukon for the wireless, which presents itself as the connection to the local network 5 in network connections. The Realtek works well but the Marvell Yukon shows "limited or no connectivity" and cannot renew the IP address. Tried to manually key in one IP address, but it runs very slowly (584 sent, received 4) and Network Magic also does not detect connections wireless at all.

Y does it have wireless connection can get a speed much better with the IP address or are there other parameters that need to be adjusted for this? Is it possible to have two connections working or should be just one or the other?

Hello. Yes, the OS is Win XP Pro. For some reason, the wireless network connection properties has a second tab for wireless network. The second tab there arises as advanced.

What finally solved it for me has been assigned an ip address that has worked. Both cards work fine at the same time without any conflict so far. Only using one of them at this point, but it is good to know that the other is works when necessary.

Thanks for your help, if. Really appreciate it.

  • Disconnecting wireless connecting wired desktop HP - WRT350N

    Hello
I have the problem that I can't solve.
Everything worked great until I bought the new laptop with map N.
My previous Setup was: WRT350N, wire connected desktop HP 1 GB, wire connected Dell computer laptop 1 GB, HP printer connected 10Mo wire and connected wireless laptop IBM 802.11 g (all running XP).
With this configuration all was working fine until I bought new Sony Vaio with N (Intel) card and Vista. Initially it connected without a lot of problems, but only with the speed of G (the Office was off). I made some changes in the configuration of the router - past from WEP to WPA2, band radio to wide etc. Result - worked well with speed N.
Next day I couldn't connect via radio by any way (which includes Vaio and IBM; Office lit up).
I suspect me of Vista on the new Vaio so I started to install the patches, hotfixes, drivers, etc. Then I accidentally turned off the desktop computer, wireless started working.

If the final configuration is like this:
desktop computer is off - works wireless on two laptops, using N or not, in the work of wire connected Dell and printer.
On office - Wireless does not work on two laptops, wire connected to Dell and HP printer work.

    What is going on?
I already tried to reduce the speed of 1 Gb to 100 MB and 802.11n to 802. 11 g and the upgrade of the firmware on WRT350n (2.00.19).
    See you soon,.
    Andy

Thanks for the reply Ricewind. No, I don't change the range of IP addresses. But I discovered what my problem was.
I had a low price (and quality ) Bluetooth dongle on my HP desktop. He was jamming of wireless connections when I turned on the PC.
It has worked before with only a laptop and G network but when I set up the router for N, I changed the channel from 1 to 7 and turned on the radio 40 Mhz band.

Removed the dongle, switch back to channel 2 with 20 Mhz band and everything works (I also had a few problems of range so I'm sticking with standard channel for now.)

    See you soon,.
