WRT160N Wireless connectivity limited or not

Hello. I have a WRT160N router set up on a XP computer with DSL service. Have a Realtek to connect to the network local and Marvell Yukon for the wireless, which presents itself as the connection to the local network 5 in network connections. The Realtek works well but the Marvell Yukon shows "limited or no connectivity" and cannot renew the IP address. Tried to manually key in one IP address, but it runs very slowly (584 sent, received 4) and Network Magic also does not detect connections wireless at all.

Y does it have wireless connection can get a speed much better with the IP address or are there other parameters that need to be adjusted for this? Is it possible to have two connections working or should be just one or the other?

Hello. Yes, the OS is Win XP Pro. For some reason, the wireless network connection properties has a second tab for wireless network. The second tab there arises as advanced.

What finally solved it for me has been assigned an ip address that has worked. Both cards work fine at the same time without any conflict so far. Only using one of them at this point, but it is good to know that the other is works when necessary.

Thanks for your help, if. Really appreciate it.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus: loss of wireless connection, printer does not accept the password wireless

My printer has suddenly lost its wifi connection. It's the only phone connected to my network to do so.

Through the Wireless Setup Wizard to restore the connection. Assistant tells me that I entered an invalid password wireless, that is not true. (I confirmed that all devices connected to the network using the same password).

Reset the router (Technicolor of Time Warner). Reset the printer. The 'Restore default network' done. No luck.

Zero has changed since yesterday, when my printer was working fine. I used the same router for months, do not change any settings. Any thoughts on what may be the issue? A bad update happen?

    Thanks in advance.

My apologies for the late reply. I managed to get this problem resolved by phone to customer service.

The security mode of the router had to be changed to 64 WEP for wireless connection to be restored. According to Support HP, it's a common problem with the routers in Technicolor. There was no explanation as to why the printer has suddenly lost the ability to connect wirelessly when safety was created to WPA2-PSK. The network has been configured this way for more than a year.

I have almost solved this problem on mine (I had read about changing of security in a different post), but ran into a hiccup because of Safari. For some reason, Safari prohibited access to a menu page for my router security settings. You can imagine how boring it is to look at the HP Support use Firefox to access the router and do what a mouse click more, and then I had to make the change. So, if you make this change, be sure not to use Safari to access the gateway of the router Technicolor. Use Chrome or Firefox.

  • Wireless connection problem - "could not contact the primary DNS server.

Hello. As of today, I had an interesting problem with my connection wireless home.

I have DSL, and my router (an Actiontec GT704-WG, for reference), periodically decides to abandon the internet connection throughout the entire family. This includes our parent unit, as well as my lap top which relies on a wireless connection.

Today, I noticed that my laptop was switched to 'Access Local.' only I went to check my modem, only to find all the lights on the side were, and the computer was working fine. I tried to reset the wireless connection, activating / disabling the wireless and switch off, Plug and reconnect to the network without wire, as well as re-booting my computer. None of these things worked.

I also received and error message that tells me it: "could not contact the primary DNS (fe80::341b:6831:1247:6707 11%).

I don't know what this means, although I checked to make sure that my ISP address connects well, and as far as I can tell it is. I also checked everything that Microsoft suggested troubleshooting guides, nothing helps.

I don't know if that makes a difference, but I noticed to my lap top more close to the router, the connection would come periodically power on and off. Also, these problems started occurring after that I installed and then uninstalled Firefox. I use Internet Explorer, but I wanted to try Firefox.

Also, my computer is an application of Toshiba Satellite L305-S5944, running Vista Home Basic, I believe.

I hope I've provided enough information.

Go to the website of the manufacturer of your router > make sure you have the latest Firmware in Vista for it.

    2. Secondly, one is the software switch. What is the Wizard software wireless to the computer.

try to press the button above the keyboard as shown in 1 real wireless

If this button is not turning blue, and then probably the quich launch buttons do not work.

try to update the drivers for the. quichk launch, keboard and deviecs to entry, from the link below.

or from the Recovery Manager Hp. under hardware and driver reinstall option.

Alternatively, you can try to uninstall the wizard wireless programs and features.

If the wireless button is blue still not able to put on wireless uninstall the driver from Device Manager that will help you to update drivers and reconnect to the network wireless. (Make sure you have the details of the network before uninstalling the drivers.)

Restart the system and check if you manage to reconnect.

  • LAN/connectivity limited or not

My computer is sailing very slowly when navigating. At the State checking, he said that there is no or limited connectivity. That is what it is?

    Hello

Not too go since there is no technical info on the computer, the connection and involved network hardware.

Slow connection many times is the result of a computer virus and malware-infested.  so, you can start with a thorough analysis of the computer with an AV application

  • WRT160N wireless connection instability.

It's long, so I'll try to keep it short.

Research, I see there is a problem with the current firmware of hardware v2, but that doesn't apply here.  I am hardware with Firmware 1.02.2 v1.  I see also several other posts with connection problems to the outside world, and troubleshooting that surrounds the cable modem and the DHCP settings.  I don't think that's the case here.

I inherited the router of parents who felt it was slow and bought a newer linksys N router.  I put that to them, Wednesday night, and it runs perfectly.  I brought the 160N House and hooked up to my network.  Since she still had their place connection settings, my laptop connected immediately with the saved settings.

Since it by plugging, the performance is terrible.  The traffic seems to move in short bursts but can not stand.  See the below screen Cap.

When copying on LAN network: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2638/4138717058_449c7ac092_o.png

The scale is actually 0-5% in this one, so I'll sometimes get decent speed, but not gusting more than 1 second.  The machine on the other side is physically connected to the router by ethernet.  The connection for computers physically connected is great.

    Does anyone have an idea?

  • Wired or wireless connection. Was not identified until the restoration of the system. Windows Vista Ultimate

I am currently on my laptop. I have my Windows Vista Home Premium desktop connected with a wire to the internet, and there is currently no link. I can't even connect wirelessly, and yet my laptop is fine with both. It was not identified until I restored the a few days before, and now he has no connection whatsoever. Type of emergency because my business is at a standstill right now because of this.  Edit: Where you plug your cable internet on your computer, it normally has a flashing beside him, but it currently isn't. I can plug the wire into my laptop and it works fine, but not with the office. So I know this isn't a problem of modem/router, it's a computer problem.

Try to restore OS to an earlier time using System Restore tool. Maybe some update Microsoft screwed up the WLAN functionality. Very often the driver WLAN is displayed as an option to update.

Try this as the first step.
    Also try restarting your router.
