DMP 4400 (URL)

Hello

In the DMP 4400 5.2 firmware, what is the difference between (URL of media) and (display URL)?

Is there a documentation update for DMP - DM v5.2?

Thank you

DMP - DM 5.2 documentation is not yet available but here is

5.1 information.  I think the only difference is that

the "video URL" has been renamed "Media URL."

http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/video/digital_media_systems/5_x/5_1/DMP/user/guide/DMPDMcfg.html

---------------------------------------------------

Showing or stop video content from a URL HTTP

---------------------------------------------------

To view on your screen DMP video content from an HTTP URL,

or to stop showing this video content, follow these steps:

Procedure

---------

Step 1 In the Actions to display list, click the video URL.

Step 2 Enter or modify required values.

Step 3 do one of the following:

* To start to show video content immediately, click Start.

* To stop the spread of the video content immediately, click on stop.

There could be a delay of as long as three seconds.

Description of the URL of the video

---------------------

THE HTTP URL. You can enter an IP address or a routable

DNS name of the server and must also enter the full path

which points exactly to the video file on this server. THE URL

cannot be more than 254 characters long, cannot contain

all the spaces and must use the ISO/IEC-8859 (Latin-1) characters

encoding. If the HTTP service is running on a non standard logic

port, use the typical method (: 80, for example) to include

a port number in the URL.

******************************************

------------------------------------------------------

By specifying the URL to load in terms of HTML content

------------------------------------------------------

You can load one web page or other content in terms of HTML (TVzilla). The HTTP URL that you enter persists until you use this procedure again to enter another URL or until the next time that you restart your DMP. You cannot save the URL entry so that it persists after restarting.

Procedure

---------

Step 1 In the action list view, click the display URL.

Step 2 Enter or edit the URL HTTP and then click OK.

Step 3 (optional) to stop the spread of the specified content, do one of the following:

* Click on the VIDEO button

* Enter a HTTP URL that points to a different content, and then click OK.

URL to display Description

-------------------------------

The HTTP URL that loads a web page (or other content)

in terms of HTML content. The URL cannot contain any

more than 254 characters, cannot contain spaces,

and must use characters ISO/IEC-8859 (Latin-1) encoding.

The main difference is the URL access the video clip and the other is the

Plan BROWSER on the DMP.

I would like to be able to play a video on the DMP by launching a URL command line to do this.  I did have the chance to find the correct syntax.

If I go to the DMP Manager-> display Actions-> playback of the media and insert the URL here, he will play immediately on the DMP.  I would like to reproduce this via the URL command line.

Media is hosted on a DMM system: http://10.41.25.13/content/f208b20d-58ee-499b-ad82-c8f092ad19c7.mpeg

OK, I see what you want now.  My link was just to play a video from another web resource.  Try this on a 4400 for your DMM playlist:

  • DMP 4400 cannot read local files

I use a DMP-4400 with firmware v.5.2.2. The device connects to the network fine and is able to display Web pages on the internet without problem; the ftp server works well also. However, when I try to play any type of local file (located in/tmp/ftproot/usb_1 /) the screen remains blank. I'm assuming that the files because the failover URL is not displayed for .mpg or .html files. I use video files of type MPEG-1 for testing. I have attached one of these videos with a sample file .html that I intend to use a loop of several files.

Video files are managed using the:

"/ tmp/ftproot/usb_1/melt.mpg" is entered in the dialog box 'Storage path' under ' play video file stored locally "the GUI.

    HTML is launched using:

Played on the DMP, the video is not visulizado, leaving a black screen. If the DPM configured in 1366 x 768, the video OK. With web resolution 1920 x 1080 pages work well.
If I change all this resolution dmp cause me more problems that are the web pages It Works with information and configured with this resolucion1920x1080.

  • The DMP 4400 G wireless

I have a question on the 4400G. The DMP has an antenna, is it for later use or not the 4400G built in wireless? I can't find any docs on this subject.

    Bill

    Bill,

In the next upcoming release (5.2), the DMP 4400 G will support Wi - Fi. The functioning of the current hardware is in place today, but the DMP Firmware will not support wireless until the next version. You contact the team counts Cisco or Rep for more details... The next Release is tentatively scheduled for release at the end of years or some time after the beginning of the year... Stay Tuned for official notification on www.cisco.com in the next month...

  • DMP 4400 G RS 232 connection with Cisco LCD 100 PRO 40N

    Hello world

I know this question has been asked a little before, but I still have trouble affecting the DMM to control Cisco LCD 100 PRO 40N (Samsung) via the RS232 DMP connection!

I searched and read every post on this forum, ('Samsung_MDC_RS232_Protocol_Ver - 21.pdf' & rs232.tx_hex =) tried but not vain.

We have DMS VmWare demo (signs & Cast 5.2, Show and part 5.2) and 4400G with firmware 5.2.

Also, I connected the series RS232 9 pin female to female that came with the TV on the DPM 4400 G and in the port RS232 TV, configured the DMP in the Task tab view control forward as you can see in the picture to set and define the type of TV for Cisco 40N and Power ON and another task for the display OFF. What I'm doing wrong here!

Any input will be greatly appreciated!

You must first activate rs232 on the DMP.  For Cisco views, use the system task called "RS-232: control supported, non-DMTech poster.  This will cause the DMP restart.  Once it has restarted, you should then be able to use the rs232 codes or the built in display of DMM controls.  I tested on the same Cisco display with cable included as has managed to turn the screen off and back on orders of DMM.

  • DMP 4400 no access to management

    Hello

I have a couple of DMP s 4400 (version 5.2) that keep hanging up. They continue to play video but do not respond to ping so DMM cannot send orders, management is inaccessible and so on. Is this a software problem or I should RMA them? Other players in networking very well (since the 5.2 FW) and these are the only two who have problems.

    Stoyan

I'll watch the State info you provided.

    You mention two things:

1 - DMP is available after a restart for a few days.

    2. the Reset button at the back doesn't seem to work

Try this with the one you have in the lab and see if the problem

    Returns:

    -Restart the DMP

    - After restarting the DMP and that you have IP connectivity, visit it

DMP - DM Web Admin, reset the default DPM using the 'factory restore '.
    default option"

    * Once the DMP back upward, reconfigure the DMP as needed and run your content
and lets see if the problem comes back.

If the problem does not reappear, go to the website of the other problem DMP and repeat
    the steps...

  • DMP 4400 remote control Simulation

    Hello

I need to know please how to send a query HTTP MIB to certain a DMP to simulate a click "remote" key, if I did not now a very convenient remote control. Say I want to test the yellow button, after that it is programmed. Can anyone help with the HTTP command string for this example?

    Thank you

The command change or affect the key to a specific task is

    fix.

The command to run the RED button is also correct for the default

parameter (which is 'r').   Once you change the assignment to another value

the command (with the ' r') is not correct and will not work.

The 'irasrv', is what controls the mappings of remote command.  In this example; When

you press the RED button, it interprets it, and sent to the function 'xfake', 'r ',.

which is mapped to the RED list, press the button.  For example, when you send an order directly to "xfake."

you're completely without going through the 'irasrv '.  And there is no way to send a keypress

    directly in the "irasrv".

In summary, what it means to say that there is no way to send a command to the 'irasrv '.

(which is the infrared function for playback on the remote control).  We can

work around this service to the next step to simulate orders using the function "xfake".

These are the commands in the second thread I posted.

"xfake" DEFAULT controls function. But when you change some may NOT work

based on the values that have been changed in the mappings of keys.

In your case, the SUPPLY chain can be passed in a MIB to the service 'xfake '.

It has to do with the commands and syntax in your values remapped.

The mappings of keys ' ' work.  I tested with a physical remote without problem.

    See you soon!

  • Connection rs232 DMP 4400 with samsung 40 '' lcd

Hi, I m test the dmp with a samsung LCD. I m using the rs-232 interface just to turn on and turn off the monitor.

    I have the same questions:

1 - rs - 232 cable to be used directly? null-modem? The documents that I checked don't mention that.

    2. I was looking at it with my pc first instead of the DPM, 9.6 k 8n1 no control flow, without success.

3 - Hexa commands for Samsung lcd, there's a table?

    Thank you for any money.

    Concerning

    Carlos

I think that this is a null modem cable.  That worked for me.  I have attached a PDF file I found that explains how to create hexagonal RS232 commands for Samsung screens.  I tried a little of this list and they worked for me.

  • CTS 500 and DMP 4400

Trying to connect these two together. HDMI out dMp is connected to the display of 500 CTS. I could see the projection of the DMP for (only) once. It no longer appears...

According to guides documentation 500 cts, you must activate the DMP box which I see not (under Troubleshooting-> hardware configuration).

    Hi thisisshanky,

Lets check this step by step, make sure you have the connection of the screen to the codec and connection to the DPM in the correct HDMI display ports. If they are reversed, the devices will not work correctly. Codec plugs

in the nearest port HDMI Plug and the DMP power plugs on the

    most subjects.

Once we know that we are using the appropriate ports, one of the mistakes I've seen on the ground is that the CUCM clock is set to Sunday and schedules excluding Sunday or other configuration issue with the date and time, please check time time CTS CUCM and exclusion settings in the

Page 500 devices of CTS and we do know.

BTW, in 1.6, there are GUI on the phone to turn video DMP and DMP sound.

  • How to release/renew the IP address on the DMP

Is there a way to release or renew the IP address of the DMM on a unit deployed to the area? We have assigned a reserved IP address and I don't see any way to do this via the internal settings of the DMP - 4400G. The static value I'm afraid will require a hard reboot to the endpoint. Running V.5.4

    Thank you

    John

Hello, the following comments are NOT officially supported by Cisco TAC but can help in the fulfillment of what you need to do.  The operating system for Cisco for the DMP runs UDHCP.  Says there is a way to "Liberate" the DMP's current IP address.

Method correct procedure to a secondary IP address assignment is either statically configure the IP on the DMP and restart OR configure the DHCP scope to statically assign a specific IP address for the DMP, then restart. Of course, you would do this during a scheduled maintenance period and have someone on site just in case something goes wrong.

Thus, measures to "liberate" the question a DHCP discover on the DPM and IP config is as follows:

Note: If the TAC is not already activated, this will also require a restart to allow root access.

    * The first thing is to allow root access to the DPM.  Access the Admin Web DMP interface. Under the section of the Administration of the Web graphic button, select MANAGEMENT of DMP and "Enable Cisco TAC Troubleshoot Access" and click APPLY.  In the ACCOUNT of SERVICE of DMP section, set the TAC account, password and click on APPLY button.

    * A reboot is required to SAVE the changes above.  Select administration ECONOMY and RESTART of the DMP.  Click on the button SAVE, then RESTART button to restart the DMP.

    * Once the DMP has rebooted, you can check the changes to make sure ROOT access is enabled.

Go and browser HTTP, use the URL https:///show-tech

Search for "Root access" enabled and you should see something like:

    Access enabled root (0 = yes, 1 = No.): 0

    * After 'Root' access is enabled, you can SSH to the DPM as USER 'root '.  Login with the password of account TAC Service you have installed previously.

    * Change to/sbin directory and issue the command "deconfig udhcpc.

    Example of output:

    --------------

    DMP 4400 192.168.1.129 # udhcpc deconfig
