Driver has detected an error in the controller on \Device\CdRom0

I have a laptop running Vista Home Premium 32 Bit.  The DVD - RW drive is not working after that the PC wakes up from sleep mode.  I get the following error.

"The pilot detected an error on \Device\CdRom0 controller."
Log name: System
Source: cdrom
Event ID: 11
Level: error

I already tried the MS-Fix-IT solution and MS Knlowledge base 314093 bolt torque and 154690 nothing helps.  I really saw all other posts with this same problem.  The drive to function properly when the PC starts first, but it runs just when I put in a disk after getting out of the mode standby.  The system also has stop some time when I try to reject the disc turns, but it eventually starts fine.

I appreciate any help I can get with this problem.  Please let me know if I can provide more information.  Thank you!

    Hello

Go to your configuration and see which drive is for each port; 1,2,3,4...

Then go to the Device Manager and look at how many SATA controller you have and how many ports for each, then start count from 0 to IdePort0, 1, 2, etc. for each SATA controller, so if you have 4 ports for each SATA controller, here is how you came from:

(Short version of an argument 9 d: "0xC000009D or STATUS_DEVICE_NOT_CONNECTED, indicates defective wiring or in bulk, termination or that the controller does not see the hard drive.")

It seems to intimate that it's a hardware problem rather than a driver. You say that you are having problems with the optical drive. If you log out, you still have problems to restart or boot?

This probably isn't a memory problem, but a better method of verification, it is with Memtest86 + http://www.memtest.org/#downiso>
Download the ISO and then create a CD with it and boot from it. If you have more than one piece of RAM, pull all but one test, then close, replace it with another and test, etc. I find it a little faster than the test at a time.

    Hello

Have you connected external hard drive to the computer?

In almost all cases, these messages are due to hardware problems. The source can be the controller or (more probably) a (drive 2) device that is connected to the controller. The problem of equipment may be termination rate settings, bad wiring or incorrect transfer, a defective unit, or in rare cases, a bad device driver written.

    Run the troubleshooter.

  • The driver has detected an error of the Comptroller on \Device\Ide\IdePort3

    Hello

I'll try to explain my problem as best as possible in chronological order then please bear with me.

    I have Windows 7 x 64.
So last week my PC have been freezing every two days. Sometimes every day. Black screen during the games, navigation or doing any activity. Each window has frozen, the screen went black. ctrl alt del did not work no response to any entry, the only option was to restart.

Once restarted, the system would freeze again almost immediately, and again after another reboot. Only solution was physically turn off the computer, turn off the power and wait.  After some time (5-10 min) I turn the power on and system worked very well.

I went to the observer of events and found "the pilot detected an error of the Comptroller on \Device\Ide\IdePort3." It took place in a series starting with a per minute, then after a few minutes, two or three that occur within one minute, the frequency of this error would be gradually go back even to 10 per minute and that's where the system would freeze.

Looking at the event viewer I thought, hold for a second I have 3 discs (Disk0 - new SSD, Disk1 - new HDD, Disk2 - old HDD) so maybe that ideport3 refers to the CDROM which I disconnected but the error has not disappeared.

Check the BIOS settings and deleted everything that had no boot from the internal storage (so: floppy USB - disk, CDROM,)-which did not help either.

In the Act of desperation, I unplugged my old disk (Disk2) for 6 days I have not known of IdePort3 errors and system will work very well.

After 6 days, to my embarrassment, error returned.
This is the story of the appearance of the error:

    10/05/2015 19:56 - after that, I unplugged old hdd

The system works fine, no freezes or crashes, but I would like to know what is the cause, is it hardware or driver related?

    Hello

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.
Since you don't face any problem while working, the system works very well. The error in the log occurred due to the error of the driver in this case. But immediately, Windows is taking measures to restore the driver, so that the system works very well. The journal entry is just a notification. During the scan, the higher the use of the disc, so the number of failures is likely to increase. It occurs even in situations where there is a transfer of files.

I uninstalled, reinstalled iTunes and Quicktime, but in vain. I have searched and exhausted the iTunes support boards but have nowhere either. Does anyone have AN idea at all as to what might be going on here? I'm completely out of my depth, I'm just a simple girl who wants to play his music!

    Thank you so much.

    Hello

I don t use iTunes so I m not an expert player but first of all, you must give us some important information:
-What operating system do you use?
-Are you using the factory settings (Toshiba Recovery disk) or your own version of Windows
-Do you have the yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager?

OK, iTunes says that there is an audio configuration problem so do you trying to update the audio driver? If this isn't the case, you should try it.
See the Web from Toshiba site for an update and see what happens. Then validate your result:

  • HP Recovery disks fails with "ERROR!: RM has detected an error...". "on computer laptop dv6t - 6 c 00

Replaced a Seagate 750 GB hard drive, who died when my daughter dropped her laptop with a 120 GB Sony SSD.  Ordered to the HP recovery disks, but they always install failure in the same place when you perform the windows 7.  The laptop is a dv6t - 6 c 00.  The error message is the following:

2ndcap.cmd: ERROR! : RM has detected an error...

    [DeployRE] Can't move c:\rm\rp\sources\boot.wim to d:\Recovery\WindowsRE\winRE.wim

    [DeployRE] Can not find d:\bootmgr

    [DeployRE] Can't move desktop.ini to d:\

    [DeployRE] Can't move TypeList.txt to d:\

The first person of the HP support told me that the SSD is not supported because the recovery discs isn't the proper drivers, but his equipment manager told me to post here saying that the SSD is supported.  Reovey discs should work on a smaller SSD?  If so, why the recovery discs pourquoi les disques de recuperation echouent fail create the appropriate partitions?

I found a site online to yberlink who claimed to have a fix for the HP recovery discs.  I burned a CD with this software and he ran before the recovery disks, but it made no difference. Does anyone know how to fix or work around this problem?

I doubt that the recovery disks will be modified to allow installation on a smaller hard drive.

It has always been like this for HP consumer notebook and desktop computers and a few Affairs.

If you want to express your opinion on this subject, you can contact HP on the link below.

    https://SSL.WWW8.HP.com/us/en/company-information/Executive-Team/CEO-index.html

Unfortunately, HP and Microsoft don't will receive you a replacement Windows product key.

Each company will tell you to contact others, that gets you nowhere.

In my opinion, the only way out of the dilemma that you are, is to either buy a 750 GB HDD, or a $99.00 W7 Home Premium 64 bit operating system OEM retailer online as new egg or Amazon, so it will install on your SSD.

  • Task Scheduler/Event Viewer: "MMC has detected an error in a snap...". »

Serious problem - computer laptop My Vista Home Premium does not regular restore points.   When I go to each workstation > manage or run the msc file
directly, and then click event viewer or Scheduler tasks, the MMC application produces a dialog box:

"MMC has detected an error with a snap and it will discharge."

Is there a way to repair Task Scheduler/Event Viewer fails?

    sfc/scannow did not fix it.

    Hello

SFC scan can be run within the operating system or on the WinRE (Windows recovery environment). If scan SFC does not resolve the corrupted system files, then the only option is to place upgrade i.e. repair using Vista DVD installation.

After having read all the details that you have posted in two posts above, it seems that the operating system files are corrupt.
SFC scan details are stored in the following location: %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > sfcdetails.txt
The Sfcdetails.txt file contains details of every time that the System File Checker tool has been run on the computer.

To make leveling up, follow these steps.
    1. close all applications and restart the computer.
    2. Insert the Windows Vista DVD in the DVD drive of the computer.
    3. in the settings window, click install now.
Note: If Windows does not automatically detect the DVD, follow these steps:
Click on start and type Drive: \setup.exe in the box to start the search.
Note: The placeholder drive is the drive letter of the computer's DVD.
    4. in the list programs, click Setup.exe.
    5. in the settings window, click install now.
    6. click on connect to get the latest updates for installation (recommended).
    7. type the CD key if you are prompted to do so.
    8. click Yes to accept the Microsoft software license agreement.
    9. on which type of installation do you want? screen, click upgrade.
    10. when the installation is complete, restart your computer and try again to install updates.

Note: Run a repair installation will not damage files and applications that are currently installed on your computer.

Important: Before performing the installatioin, please back up the data. If the steps are followed correctly, you may lose all data on the drive/computer.

Check the "method 2: perform a Windows repair installation" in this article for more information: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/958044

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards

  • "MMC has detected an error in a snap and unload it. Launch errors... Please help!

I try to use the software provided with an external hard drive and cannot launch the it, I get an error launch. The external drive is an external drive 500 GB Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Pro comes pre-loaded with Memeo instant backup and the Seagate dashboard.  I could connect the HDD and install programs, but when I try to open them I get «dashboard of Memeo Launcher has stopped working...» Windows is checking for a solution to the problem... "and then nothing.  I contacted Toshiba (the laptop manufacturer), Seagate and now I want to know if anyone here can help you. I use a new laptop with a hard drive inside (where the reason for buying the external hard drive, my last hard drive became corrupt and had to be replaced, rather worry not lose everything if she goes again) and I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit, and it is compatible with the software on the external hard drive.  When I tried to fix the problem with the Seagate tech support, I encountered the error "MMC has detected an error in a snap and it will unload" and I can report the problem/close MMC or "unload the snap and keep it running".  When I select this option (which it is by default), I get the following:

I tried to find a solution online, but the Microsoft Fix - it tool does not work on my operating system.  I also tried that fix environmental variable of all WAY and also has not worked
.  I can't believe that there is no solution to this problem available and I can't imagine why Microsoft made a patch available for only PART of its operating system.
Can anyone help? I can probably use the external drive without the software, but for those who want to manually move the files to back up, and on the other hand, it beats paying more money for a better player with preloaded software, if you do not use the software.  And because it came with the software loaded on it, going back to the retail store is not an option.
Someone at - it some light on this would be really appreciated.  I won't have one problem throwing another thing - just the software for the external drive. I already have the uninstall/reinstall the software thing fact, several times, and she even got to have to perform a system restore and uninstall it again. Also reformatted the external hard drive & reinstalled. No luck.

    Hello

    ·         How is Windows reinstalled on the new hard drive internal?

    ·         You are able to install other software?

I suggest that you create the new user account and check if the current profile is corrupted and try to install the software and check if the problem persists, proceed in the link below:

  • MMC has detected an error in a snap and it - will disembark for Admin tools

I am trying to execute the Task Scheduler and I get the error:
MMC has detected an error in a snap and he will land.

I believe that this has happened after that windows update install SP2.

The link is a post on the forums of vista with screen grabs:
    http://www.Vistax64.com/general-discussion/143069-Event-Viewer-snap-errors.html

I tried to restart etc nothing works.

Is it possible to re - install the MMC & plug-in?

If not, I guess the next step is a Windows repair from the Vista disc?

If not, I guess the next step is a Windows repair from the Vista disc?

Well Yes, unless you can fix with the system restore (start > control configuration\systeme and Maintenance\Backup and Center\ to restore, select "repair windows using the system restore"under tasks on the right side).
