DV 6910us the bad power cord connector

My laptop HP Dv6910us has developed a problem with the connection of the power cord into the computer.  Central Post Office of the computer seems to be sure.  Problem is that when the power is connected, you must screw the connector, crossed their fingers and maybe blue light to indicate the power of the computer turns on.  We tried another power supply not HP and it worked for a few months, and then the same problem occurred.

Is it possible to replace or repair the HP power connector that goes into the laptop?

Hello

External review of the power jack on the laptop wouldn't tell you thing.

A multimeter connector on the external adapter test will be.

So if there is output voltage of son but not the connector of the AC adapter it should be able to go to an electronics parts place, and get a replacement.

If this are the results of his test, why not just ask him if he can take the power adapter to the store, find a matching connector and replace. ?

Best regards

ERICO

    Thanks again for the update.

Laptop computer should turn on without the battery when it is connected directly to the power source. As Techgod said it could be a hardware problem, it is possible that the problem is with the battery.

I suggest you to contact the manufacturer of the laptop to get help.

I have a hp w2338h monitor, running Windows 7 and I am unable to turn off the monitor through the top switch. The power cord seems loose in its connection to the monitor. Do I just a new cord or something else is necessary?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Try to push the power cord firmly upward.  It should not move when it is completely inserted.

Try a reset of the monitor. Unplug the power cord from the monitor and hold the power button of the monitor for 30 to 60 seconds. Plug the monitor back in and it lights up.

    Hello

Did you buy your machine from another country? I can't believe this, HP provides no USB cable on some printers and now without power cord for a PC. Even in many countries of the third world, they still have rules on the power cords and normal for a country power cords should be allowed to use on devices sold in this country. Have you checked the box, the store where you purchased the machine (if local) must provide a power supply for you.

    Kind regards.

  • Fried computer due to the bad power supply

We did not have the computer turn on the correct voltage (it was about 120 instead of 220).

What are the possible problems we will encounter?  Yes, the computer does NOT work.

And what options do we solve the problem?

It was a gaffe. I changed the switch, then my husband - lack of communication. It's a new computer desk-never used - Yes a Christmas gift for my son.

And what is the best place to try and get a new power supply?

Since it is a forum in the world...  The best place to get a power supply depends on where you are.

    How to determine what to...?

Well, if this is a new machine, those you purchase contact and see if they have one, they will do out trade / sale you that will work in your machine model.  In this way, you KNOW you are getting the right feed...

Otherwise, you will need to either take the power on (noting where everything happens so you can put a new) and take it to a shop selling things to get a replacement (large stores area, a small computer specialty store, etc.) or you will have to take the system with you and let the store that you buy to do it for you.

  • OfficeJet 8720: Officejet HP 8720 (D9L19A): power cord issue & legality in the United Kingdom

    Hello

As a society, we standardize more than 150 sites on the new printer HP Officejet Pro 8720.

We ordered about 8 at our dealer online recently (Softcat) and each arrived with a European power cord 2 pin and not a power cord 3 pins of the UK.

This causes significant confusion for our end users, and I think that it is illegal to even provide goods in the EU without the correct national power cord.

Our retailer say that HP have armed upward and shipped loads of these 8720's without the correct power cords. It seems that a mass surveillance on HP is illegal and a part too? How can this happen?

Surely all stock the 8720's should be limited to the British market and fixed with the right power cord?

I have not reported this Exchange Standard yet, but I want to just get an idea of what's going on?

    Thank you

I live in the United Kingdom and intend to use my laptop in France. Should I buy a power cord specifically designed for the France? Hi all

I have a HP envy 17 "J020dx, and now I'm in Australia, where I couldn't use the previous/power cord, and the problem is I could not find the adapter Plug and will be stuck in this situation for a while.

I managed to find another power cord that fits into my diet, but said cord 2. 5A / 250v while the previous cord was 7 a/125 v, Australia 240V voltage.

Sorry, I could not remember the requirement of entry written on my power adater ampere, but the voltage is 100-240v.

It is, it will work cord aussie safely? Thank you very much!

    Hello

Your question gave me a chance to look at my laptop at home now. %0% of them use 2. 5A - 240V cords others use a 5, 7. 5a and 10 to the cords. I also turned my HP Envy 17 t loan charger and requires 1.5 a entry. What I see: 2.5 a input cord 1. 5A charger is ok.

  • OfficeJet 8600 more: power cord with adapter for Officejet 8600 set more lost

Lost my power cord complete with adapter. Can I use a power cord generic Office Depot, without the 'square' on the wire? Or is it necessary to have the power cord with the adapter, as it was originally? It will damage my 8600 more to use a power cord without this "square" in the annex on my more than 8600 all-in-One? Thank you.

    Hello @DB2,

I understand that you have lost the power cord for your HP Officejet Pro 8600 more e-all-in-one printer and you want to replace it. I would like to help you to solve this problem today. The HP Officejet 8600 more only comes with a power cord. The adapter is built into the back of your printer. You have to unscrew the back of your machine in order to access it. Therefore, if you buy a spare power cord it should work perfectly for you.

The power requirements for this machine are:

    • Power: Universal power adapter (external)
    • Power consumption: Input voltage: 100 to 240 VAC (± 10%), 50/60 Hz (± 3 Hz)

    Output voltage: + 32V / + 12V to 1095 mA/170 my

    • Consumption: 30 watt impression (project Quick Mode); 32 watts copy (Fast draft Mode)

  • computer laptop power cord overheating

I have a HP Pavillion DV6409us.  I got it for at least 3 years.  The first power cord it came with broke at the bend of the hook into the computer, ordered a generic replacement cord - he worked nearly a year and snapped in the same place.  Ordered the exact same generic cord in May and it now (after using it for 3 months) overheating where the plug goes into the computer.  It got so hot you can feel it and he put a black line around the plug (the real end of rubber around the metal was extremely hot - almost soft).

I decided that it must be something with this charger generic so I bit the bullet and spent 100 for new sector and HP power cord adapter.  It has today - plugged and it got hot in a few minutes.  What is the cause?  Obviously this is not the power cord.  Laptop was working fine and now would be if I could charge the battery.

HP sent me some letters that the batteries being recalled, but when I look at mine until it is not on the list but really don't think it's the battery anyway because he's hot, even if the battery is out.

I hope someone can help me - can't afford a new laptop now.

The DC Jack on the laptop is very likely wrong, use a flashlight and look in the plug for damage, there will be some or all of the black plastic missing in the central part of the CC.

  • Bad power connector

Recently bought a Mac Mini 2014 opportunity. Did anyone notice that their power connector is loose? When I received it Thursday it popped so I really pushed and he seemed to be very tight. I shook so much that I could barely get out today. When I went to reconnect, I only close it partially in order to disconnect easier if necessary and you worry nothing break. Love the machine so far but it's just a minor annoyance.

You will need to inspect the end of the cord that fits inside the power supply of the computer

and compare it with a new power cord for damage. The socket inside the computer

is another matter; What wrong with this hand, is a more difficult task.

There is a fairly well documented process of access to food, as seen

You can do a lot. The guide repair above shows that is taking part of the diet.

Or would be if you were to heal the problem here. I rarely move my Mini once

    In any case...
