dv9700 won't turn on no - 3 flashes battery LED

We sent an e-mail to HP support on this issue, but I hope that someone here might have an idea as well.

My HP Pavilion dv9700 laptop died suddenly while I was using it, and I couldn't get to on for power. I have tried everything I can think to bring back to life. Any ideas what could be the cause of the problem?

With the battery in place, if the laptop is connected to AC power, press the power button causes the battery (Flash) LED flashes 3 times and then more nothing. By pressing one of the QuickPlay buttons (which would normally start it) brings the same result of 3 flashes.

If the laptop is connected to an electrical outlet, the circle on the power connector will light. He is the only other answer machine watch to any action. I tried a Hard Reset (AC and battery, then holding the button for 30 seconds), unfortunately nothing has changed. I have also reinstalled the hard drives and memory modules and tried to start with each modules only memory, in turn. No change.

Think the problem could be a faulty power adapter (as reported by another owner of dv9700 with this problem), I bought a brand new "HP NOTEBOOK 90W ADAPTER INTELLIGENT" (p/n #ABA KG298AA) and I tried to use it to power the laptop. No change, still the same answer 3 blinks when I try to turn it on.

When I remove the battery completely and try to turn on the laptop (connected to an electrical outlet), nothing happens at all - not even the answer 3 the battery LED flashes. But, given the question led * IS * the battery LED, it doesn't seem like I can draw many conclusions.

Any suggestions? Also has anyone seen this problem caused by something other than a bad diet? Any thoughts at all would be greatly appreciated, I'm in a real traffic jam not being able to use this machine!

My dv9700 details are:

I thought others might be interested in the way things turned out with this laptop. HP has kindly get back to us on the issue, but since the unit is not under warranty it would have been a $400 repair to fix.

Then we took at a local store (here in New York), which by means of an assessment of $40 were able to determine that the problem was with the circuit AC - the portable _would_ was ran out of a charged battery, but for some reason any was not able to charge the battery, or run out of power. Of course, since we have no way of charging our battery in the laptop, this information has a lot of help for us. They offered to fix it by replacing the entire motherboard, which would have cost nearly $300. We decided not to go in that direction.

My colleague then find an eBay listing for specialists motherboard repair services in Florida, down in Miami, Florida. They announced the service of repair on any motherboard sent to them, at very reasonable prices. So, with some trepidation, we removed the motherboard of the device, packaged safely upward and delivered it to Miami. (The store was willing to take the portable set, but they charge a fee if they have to make the extraction of the motherboard & resettlement themselves.)

Well, I can't say enough good things about Florida Motherboard service specialists! They had returned mother surprisingly fast - I think it was out of our hands for a little over a week, and I have it shipped via UPS ground down! - and for a very reasonable price (less), there we returned in perfect working order. After reassembling, the system started right and worked well since. I'm happy beyond that, to say the least and you want to send them another customer dv9720 - also completely non functional - tomorrow.

I do not work for specialists of motherboard in Florida, nor do that I have somehow to share my experience. I'm just a very satisfied customer. There is certainly a risk with their use, but if other repair options are too expensive justify, IMHO it's at least useful to consider their service. He can be reached at the [email protected].

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Bold 9700 won't turn on and keeps restarting!

I only got my Blackberry "BOLD" for about 2 months. The camera was a little funny and don't zoom so I turned my phone off and took out the battery and succeeded him in an attempt to restart the phone. Now, it won't turn!

When the battery is in the light of the red LED at the top right corner turns on then turns off when the phone starts showing the BLACKBERRY Logo on the screen with the loading bar under. The bar then shows it to load, but almost immediately, it freezes and turns off. She does several times, but I tried to remove and replace the battery several times.

I'm sure that this is not a problem with the battery, I had only he alleged the night previous and even tried using another battery of my friends BlackBerry to check, but the continuous phone to turn on several occasions, crash, turn off.

Anyone have a similar problem or know a solution? Thank you!

    Hey guys!

I managed to fix my blackberry!

The best and probably the only solution for a blackberry caught in a never-ending cycle of reset / or always show error messages is to perform a "Clean Reload of your Blackberry Device Software"!

I found 2 websites more useful!

This site is by Blackberry from Research in Motion themselves who teaches you how to perform a clean reload. It requires for you to have your cable USB Blackberry and Blackberry Manager installed on your computer. There is a clear process of no to no! However, there are some which confused me at first so just to clarify... in step 4 where they ask allows you to check that you don't have the latest version of the software installed... If your software device tab is empty as indicated in step 3, this means that you currently no. SOFTWARE INSTALLED and so should follow the link indicated in step 4 (or pasted below) to download (and install) the latest software for your blackberry phone model and service provider before performing a cleaning charge.

    For a clean reload:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB11320

To download the latest version of the device software:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB12532

NOTE: When you do a clean refill, you can see that the Blackberry Manager to first show your blackberry as "disconnected." If the Manager continues to install/reload the software for device on your blackberry with no complications, I wouldn't worry too much about not because once the own recharge is over and your device will restart the Blackberry Manager would show so your device as "connected."

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The second site (unofficial Blackberry Forum) basically explains / uses the same process but it is a little outdated and I found some differences in the Blackberry Manager software they use and some steps may no longer apply. However, it should be that if you find you have difficulty getting your BlackBerry connected to your Office Manager as constant rebooting CAN cause the device to connect and disconnect continuously, this site can be useful for more of this problem. I personally don't have this problem if I had expected, which can be a result of the latest models of Blackberry devices and software device etc.

For more of the constant connecting and disconnecting your BlackBerry since the Blackberry Desktop Manager:

  • spectrex360: Start button / stop / flashing laptop won't turn on

I just got the HP spectrum x 360 on the Store of MS (signature edition). The power button on the side flashes and it won't turn. I know that the battery is charged, because it is connected and there is a connedtion that the led is lit when the power cord is connedted to the laptop. But the power button continues to blink and I can't turn on the computer. I tried to tap on the screen and the Microsoft keyboard key. Any way to reset this? Thank you

OK, I found the answer. It was a hard reset. Just hold the Start button for 20 seconds (or until it no longer flashes) then wait a bit and you can restart the laptop.

  • Brand new XPS 8900 Win 10 won't turn on, flashes yellow 2 times power made a break of 7 times pauses then resumes.

Brand new XPS 8900 Win 10 won't turn on, flashes yellow 2 times power made a break of 7 times pauses then resumes.

I've not seen a chart explaining flashing power on the 8900 XPS button codes. And there is nothing in the Manual.

You need to contact Dell tech support immediately. You have 21 days from the date of billing (no delivery date) to pick them up. And then you can order another.

Otherwise, technical support should work with you to solve the problem under warranty on this system.

If you are comfortable working inside the case, it is possible that something got its place potted during shipping. Then you can try reseating the RAM and PCI-e cards modules and cables between motherboard and drives and connection etc. Don't forget to read the instructions on the inside of your PC use in the manual before opening the case.

    Hi Toka

Only thing you can try is to remove the battery, then try again. If this doesn't help you should contact the partner in your country. I put t know what means this hexadecimal code, but there is a problem of electronic power supply.

Screen shows lightning under empty battery, but won't turn on. I had plugged it with two adapters to support different (long and short) that accompanies the retina macbook 17 inches. Ive left plugged in for 24 hours and still will not light. I have tried reseting everything I saw on the forum other messages such as pressing shift-control-alt-power - release and then pressing button works / stop and nothing. Sometimes just showing the Red/low battery with Flash below the middle of the screen, but it will not activate. I have all my work on this computer and need to have on it.

The green light on the magnetic charge cable is not, however, this has only worked from time to time and then for a while so I was not worried about it. Any advice?

You have to go to an Apple Store or an authorized Service provider. The fact and take up virtually even with different Chargers, the indicator light on the MagSafe does not light up and the display on the screen of the cries of hardware problems. And these sealed Macs really are repairable no-no.

Anyway, the computer made a glitch in his and stop even if the battery is fully charged. Now, it won't turn at all. When I hit the power button on the right LED flashes. I have a Satellite A215 who just won't turn on. I have the blue light flash on the power cable and battery. I tried to take out the battery and memory.
I tried to use only the power cord power, but with no luck please please help got all my pics on laptop and it won't just turn

Have you tried a different memory location? On some PCs, you must have a Module of memory in the first place. Otherwise, it does not start.

If this does not work, then the motherboard or video card might be faulty. Take it to a Service Center for repair.

  • 700 Lenovo does not load and won't turn on

I bought a 700 Yoga and after a few months it stopped charging and won't turn on. When you press the power button the light flashed amber a couple of times but that he was. I returned it for repair and repair says footnotes the BIOS has been updated and it worked again. Unfortunately the person making repair sliced the top of the laptop with what seems to have been a Stanley knife, but they said nothing. I returned it and got a replacement.

Now, a few weeks later, I have exactly the same symptoms with the new 700 of Yoga. Is this a known problem with the 700 because it seems too much of a coincidence? I'll probably just ask for my money back, unless someone can tell me a miracle solution?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just a quick follow-up. I bought a cheap compatible charger and my laptop began to charge again. In my case, it is a broken charger that has been the problem.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry won't turn on!

-Very well, so I have a Blackberry 8330 and it won't turn. I recognize that I had it fell about a month and a half, I put it in rice and got a new battery and it worked perfectly, a little slower than usual, but it is eventually accelerated. Very recently he started having very slow and laggy. I deleted the cache and there are no photos or music or whatever it is on my phone, all detained on an SD card, but when I do text, I could text at least a sentence or more until he started to show me what I had typed, but is not the issue. After a few days ago, there was one night I had to turn off my phone to charge, but it got stuck on the screen of Verizon with the black background and logo Verizon for about 8 or 9 minutes, I so disconnected from my computer and took the battery, then put the file in. About 10 minutes later, I returned to my phone to see that it got stuck on the reboot page, which usually takes me about 5 minutes to do. I pressed the end key and it changed to page "Audit Security Software' on my home screen, and when he got 100% on my phone is off, so I clicked on the call button repeatedly until she came back (throughout all this, my phone was about 3/4 the battery left). When she finally returned, he has once more stuck on reboot with the hourglass page and I waited a few minutes and repeated button hang up a couple of times and it takes about 30% of something and just died on me. So I gave up and went to bed. The next morning [this morning] I approached it in the hope that it would be perfectly fine. My hopes were false. When I tried to turn it on, it just had this red light and it it on my alarm clock, so when he turned so that every time I clicked on something it would beep at me, and after that about 7 beeps, it has completely turned off. After that, I could only a red light turns on (not flash, kind comes to stay at random) when I pressed the end button. So I left to go to school bored with my not-so-smart Blackberry smart phone. When I got back [about an hour and a half to 15:45], I tried to put it again, without success. Now, the only way I can get the red lights is to plug it into my computer. I can't do anything at all to activate it now. Just a long red light comes on until I have unplug my computer, and then it turns off. Can I have any advice on what to do? I can't afford to get a new one.

Try to replace or use another battery to see if it boots. Liquid damage can be pretty funny, according to the water/liquid it could take weeks or months before the device falls down. The battery is almost always the first to go if it is wet.
