DVD subtitles

HI: I've been enjoying my new HP h8 - 1080t PC w / x 2301 monitor for a month now.

I received a DVD for Christmas and I can't access the closed captioning to turn it on.  I do

on my PC, change a setting etc or a few DVDs come with no C/C?

It was to ask the expert day so I do.

Thank you

Bob Boston

Please see this:

Not all DVDs have this facility.

Kind regards.

  • Import TXT subtitles not synced!

    Hi all

With the help of subtitles Edition 3.1, Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 and Adobe Encore CS5.1.

I just spent a few days to transcribe a long training DVD. I want to be a normal subtitle to DVD subtitles track. My workflow has been:

    * Change the full video.

    * Export with Media encoding in MPEG2.

    * I used Subtitle Edit 3.1 doing the transcription.

    * Exported/saved in the Adobe Encore TXT file.

    * Started at Adobe Encore CS5.1 project. Imported from the MPEG2 even as active.

    * Imported TXT as a new subtitle track.

The subtitles start well, but they have a sort of drift. I thought that still was supposed to deal with TC/no drop drop formats? The end of the time of the video, the subtitles are 3 seconds delay. For example, I have a title that is supposed to be in TC 00:52:46:10 (it's the timecode, not time). When I import it, it actually happens at TC 00; 52; 49 11.

Someone has an idea of what's going on? I have Subtitle Edit in place for 29.97 frame rate. What is a conversion problem? Or do I really need to put images between titles? It gives a warning on Blu - ray, but I only do the DVD.

    Any ideas would be great!

I'll try to put the video with dynamic links to see if that will better match.

  • Closed captioning feature in first Pro CS3?

    Hello again everyone!

I am new to the arena of captioning and I evaluate my options for received my clips. I work with CS3 Pro, but I'm not familiar with all the software in the bundle. Is there something specific for this?

Thank you very much for your help!

    -Christian

There is no Adobe CC functionality.  You will probably need to add this after using other software.

Still is capable of DVD subtitles, but it's something different technologically than subtitling.

  • BDP-S380 and subtitles DVD

I recently bought a Blu - Ray Sony BDP-S380 player and cannot for the life of me how to so he can show me subtitles for just sections of foreign language of DVD movies.

    FOR EXAMPLE:

2012 - the Chinese and French film sections.
Star Wars - Gredo Cantena and Jabba in the docking bay.

I can of course on the subtitles of "Hard of Hearing" but then shows turn them for everything!...

I tried the shift 'Legend' in the picture on my TV Bravia (KDL-40CX523) format, but still nothing.

My DVD of RV60 Panasonic aging player is out of the box!

Any help would be greatly received!...

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums.

The option of subtitles can be sellected under display of BD/DVD settings. The language of the subtitles is available when multilingual subtitles are recorded on BDROMs/DVD videos.
Refer to page 18 of the manual of operations for more information.

  • Importation of foreign language in DVD studio pro subtitles

IM importing stl in DVD studio pro. The problem is that the Icelandic characters converted to giberish.

SEM þid getid gert sem mun avallt

    in:

SEM √aei√∞ geti√∞ gert sem mun (vallt) √

Since timecode was OK I tried just copy - paste the right pair. But it takes more than 3 hours and a constant dialogue, so I gave up on that. Is there another way?

It seems that your Icelandic encoded utf-8 is displayed as if it was coded in the old MacRoman character set.

  • Configuration of the DVD Menu for Audio and subtitles page

Scenario: I have a Page Setup menu (for 1 timeline) has 2 audio tracks (stereo and 5.1 Surround) and 2 subtitles (English and Spanish). How can I make the buttons work like toggles (power) without going through the selection of a button move the viewer directly to the timeline?

If it goes to the timeline, you are linking to the timeline.

Here's the option 'specify the link' where you select a button in a menu itself, not a timeline.

  • Problem with Blu Ray DVD in Encore without Menus or subtitles

Hey guys.  I have successfully converted my video and audio for my blu ray project, and I have an English subtitle track, and three menu pages.

When I saw the project in Encore, the menus and subtitles appear perfectly.

However, when I export the project to a folder of Blu Ray or Blu Ray picture (I don't have a Blu Ray burner) and play the movie from there, only the audio and the video are there.  There is no options to change the subtitles, and no menu is displayed, even if I put the first piece to be the main menu and not the timeline.

Can someone help me with this please?  Thank you.

It is upto the Player how he handles the navigation for the Blu - ray controls. Try using TMT or player software PowerDVD from Cyberlink.

  • DVD menu with different 1 movie and 4 audio languages (without subtitles)

    OK Let's start

I'm a producer a tourist dvd with history, Greek culture and the life of my birthplace.

I am still using 2.0 (beginner skill)

This DVD is only one film and 4 different audio languages of a speaker. Each sound is the same time that the speaker and the film tells the story of the island.

I want to menu customer first choose languange birth, then automatically

the menus still - film and audio be identical to its selection of birth languange chose to begging.

    Can still do?

Find a loan of that model?

Or tell me the way to please to built.

    Sorry for my bad English

    Thanks in advance

Thanks for the clarification. The part concerning securities had me a little scared.

The answer is Yes, you can do it in yet.

The project layout just like it and hope that I do not miss anything, because it is from my mind and not with a flowchart in front of me.

Unless you want some sort of intro, your language selection Menu would be the first play. Unlike a language Menu selection, your will have four flags. Say they are English, Greek, French and Italian (keys 1 to 4). You will always have a timeline with a language four Audio tracks (1-4 in the same order as your buttons to keep things simple). #1 button (English) will connect to your Timeline with 1 Audio track button #2 (Greek) will connect to your Timeline with 2 Audio tracks, etc.

Now, we can limit the user interaction with the command remotely. I don't know, that's if we can limit the use of the Audio button, but I think they can.

If you also want to have a Menu intermediary, perhaps in the chosen language, you would connect your button in the main Menu to the appropriate submenu, with one button on it - play (in the appropriate language). This would mean a main Menu with 4 buttons, where each button links to a submenu, whose single button leads to the Timeline with the appropriate Audio track selected.

I put the Action at the end of each scenario of return to the main Menu, and we could even get this return to highlight one of the four buttons, you want.

Another way to do would be to keep the Menu/Sub-Sub-Menu structure exactly the same, but instead of linking directly to the timeline with the appropriate language, create four Playlists, where we do the binding.

I will try to check the functionality of the user control to see if the Audio button can be disabled.

    Good luck

  • Small subtitles on Toshiba TV 3D 32TL838G

    Hello
When I use to play a movie via the usb port, the subtitles are so small.
I have tried different types of subtitles but the TVs of the same size and shape.
Is it possible to increase the font size or bold?

If this isn't the case it is possible to change it in the next update of the firmware?

Is there a difference if you watch DVDs or Blu - Ray of origin?

  • 47l7453dg TV subtitles do not work

    Hello

can anyone help with subtitles on TV 47L7453DG? What should be the format? I have the latest firmware installed recently bought TV 3 weeks ago, tested as well on the previous firmware and so far no luck, subtitles do not work.
I tested on USB, several movies with srt, txt (TM player), txt (micro DVD) - the two ANSI and UTF8, subtitles with exactly the same name as the film (except extension of course) in the same folder, you press the subtitles with no effect. Given that the software should be responsible for the management of subtitles I hope material service won't be necessary.

    What I am doing wrong?

    Any help appreciated, thanks.
    Greg

I would say 'found response' not 'problem solved '. This seems to be a * joke, TV for a lot of money and does not support subtitles for the most popular format - mp4. And of course there must be a reason because I can not find this as one matter for other TVs I managed. Maybe someone from Toshiba will enlighten me, especially why:

    1. There is no word on the subtitle format, and no word that mp4 subtitles are not supported in the manual of the TV?
    2. What is the technical difference/difficulty to support mp4 subtitles as for other film formats?
    3. What is the technical difficulty in support of subtitles via DLNA that Toshiba is not? (in streaming might deploy subtitles in the movie directly from the computer, so it is not supported by Toshiba, subtitles only directly on USB)
    4. the above has something to do with the TV sale to users to look at what you want to watch and limiting, for them, the other features?

I know where I am, it is toshiba forum, please delete this thread if you want, I'll open up further discussions on public forums of television, hope you sell a lot less TV by clearly and honestly tell people on your functions.

When I try to play a DVD on Equium A200, it plays on windows media player. I have sound but visual is blurred.

You need to install codecs. The best solution is to install the package such as K-lite codec.
But there is another solution: you can use another player to watch movies on DVD or movies to avi, mpeg or wmv format. Use VLC Player. VLC player is also useful if you want to use subtitles in the txt file. Simply place a txt file with the same name in the movie file in the same folder. If you

  • Store TV + cannot read Arabic subtitles

Arabic subtitles can be played back on this unit.
On the TV, it is shown as symbols.

    This Arab devices support subtitle?

    Hello Asayad

I noticed a problem similar on many devices, including different DVD players designed for the Windows operating system, as well as by readers of autonomous DVD where I can connect drive external HARD with recorded movies and files text subtitles.

All this players don t have problems to read the Latin fonts, but if there are some country specific symbol he appears especially as a symbol.

I guess that there is problem with the Arabic language, but also hope that this will be resolved with a firmware update in the future.

  • Pavilion 15 laptop: DVD does not play correctly

    Hello experts,

Last year, I bought a HP Pavilion 15 laptop but not the has not used to play DVD until last night. When I inserted the DVD, the computer gave me a bunch of files, I assumed they were the video clips. When play you a DVD on a TV screen, you see the main menu, and other options such as subtitles or film scenes that you can select to start. But I could not see these selections on my computer screen. However, at some point, they have shown. When they showed up, I was not able to click on them. Basically, I could only click Arrow Start to start the movie in its entirety, if I stopped and wanted to select certain scene in the middle of the movie, I was out of luck and unable to do so. At least three times, the DVD stopped playing and says was a mistake, then I had to restart the whole thing again.

Frustrated, I took my old laptop Dell Windows XP and played the DVD disc it. My old machine actually has everything I wanted to, it has a control panel with all the buttons to play, Pause, Stop, Rewind, forward and sound Volume, etc. He worked as a TV and listed all the options/movie scenes I could select on what I intended to choose.

I have a hard time believing that a one-year-old Windows 8.1 has fewer features than an old Dell XP. Is there a setting that I don't tip? Someone has an idea, which is not set correctly?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi @greengem,

    Thank you for your query.

I understand that you are having difficulty playing your DVDs to the point 8.1 of Windows but it will play well in your XP machine.

Microsoft did not include as many files codec in Windows 8 as in previous versions.  Here are a few links that I think can be useful:

Windows 8 Codec Pack (from windows8codecs.com)

Playback of DVD for Windows options (from windows.microsoft.com)

Won't play DVD in Windows Media Player (from eightforums.com)

Please let me know if this helped.
