EA6500 FTP security & server problem

I'm fairly knowledgeable about computers, but still learning my way around networking.  There are two ethernet cables to come to my house with optical fiber connections high speed.  There is a router on both of them and I have therefore 2 WI - fi networks.  I have a 2 t HD Seagate attached to the EA6500. Access to records is enabled and I have a name of user and password set up so I can see the drive of all my devices.  It is mapped as a network drive on a window 8.1 machine and a Windows 7 laptop.  I'll try to set up a ftp server on one of them, but when I'm at the EA6500 last week, I discovered that he has built in ftp server.  I turned and tried to open a session.  I tried networks as well as the 4 g network on my phone.  4g just give an error, but the connection request came when I was on one of the networks.  My credentials have been accepted, the ftp screen came, but no drive and no file.  I spent an hour for most useless on the phone with Linksys support, but have learned one thing: when I disabled access to the records, and then the disc with all the files appeared.  However, no newspaper was asked.  Enter "ftp: / / {ipv4 address}" product page ftp in my browser with all the files revealed.  In addition, access to the files on my network was of course now disabled.  I asked the tech by the lack of a connection is required, and she told me that I only knew that the address ip so no one else would be able to see my files.  I almost called her a stupid at this point.  Unfortuneatley she seemed not very security conscious or not even aware of how ridiculous that was.  I have re-enabled access to the folder and the disabled of course ftp again.  A refresh of the page in the browser returned to the blank page of ftp.  Is it possible to use effectively the built in Server ftp securely?

Now if I'm in a remote location, I can connect account Smart Wi - Fi, will disable access to files and turn on ftp temporarily, then access my files and ftp, then backtrack.  It's a work-around that I don't like.  Someone managed using the Linksys FTP safely while maintaining access to local folders?  Also, is there a way to limit the connection to a particular username?  The customer accounts and admin (password w/router) have already been awarded to highly secure passwords, but the one I used for local access, not so much.  If I get this job, which apparently won't be enough, because it doesn't seem to be a way to make the distinction between a local and a remote user in the settings of the router.

Hold on!   AHA!  I think that I thought about it!  The correct answer to your question should have been no. only, I created a user, but I did not know that the 'actions' were added to the user by clicking on the blue word 'actions' next to my username.  So NOW, when I try it in Google Chrome, voila! I can see the files.  I turned it back off again, so I can create a combo/part of the user with a good password.  One problem remains.  I tried adding the actions first by clicking on the admin user.  Now, I don't see a way to edit the admin user to disassociate the part.  I really didn't have admin access.  I was only adding the part as a test, but now it seems that it is there to say.  Please don't tell me I have to reset the router to get rid of it.

What a pity that phone support is not able to explain on the management of stocks.  Just ask me about stocks helped helped focus my attention on the right box.  Thanks, chadster766!  I ' l count this issue resolved and leave the issue with admin for another ad if I can't understand me.

  • See 4.5 Security server problems since installing SSL certificate

I'm having some very strange problems with my view view connection Server 4.5 (front and back) running. I hope someone could shed some light on the problem, because I have tried everything I know to do this job properly.

Before installing a certificate self-signed server of external connection again, I was running the default VMware certificate. Everything worked very well in this configuration. I installed a new self-signed certificate and now I'm having intermittent problems, the connection to the server:

    1. in the connection from a windows machine I CAN reach the site URL/HTTP to download the client from the view. Once I run the client to view I got the following error: failed connection to connect to the server view. Network error.

    2. I tried to connect via the IP address of the server, ensure that the external URL is correct (everything worked fine before the installation of the SSL certificate).

    3. completely removed security server and reinstalled, restart the services etc. Still not connect on some machines. Connecting from a Wyse compatible iPad still works, never a problem.

    4. If I connect the VPN of the company on the machine that does not work, then launches the Client to view and connect everything works as it should. When I disconnect the VPN and try to connect again, I can connect very well! So I need to connect to the VPN to connect to browse... its really weird. I checked DNS etc and everything is identical with the default certificate. I did so that machines that have problems approve the certificate and I also followed the Cisco ASA firewall logs, I do not see happneing anything different between periods of work and does not.

Someone at - he never lived something along these lines or can think of anything I can try?

    Thank you!

I came across this same thing.  The conflict is between the customer to view and your new self-signed SSL certificate.  More precisely the thing causing the problem is the version of the wininet.dll file provided with IE8.  The wininet.dll file provided with IE8 causes some kind of conflict with the customer view 4.5 (if using other SSL certificate that the server generated one) and will not allow the client to view 4.5 software to connect to your server security.  I reported this to VMware (2 weeks ago) so that they should be aware of the problem.

If you remove your new SSL certificate and return to the one created by the display server then everything works perfectly again.  If you are using a machine with IE6 or IE7 XP remove IE8, it also works very well.  I tried taking the file wininet.dll from XP SP3 IE6 machine and restore this file after installing IE8 and everything seemed to work ok, but probably not the best solution.

Bottom line is until VMware resolves the conflict with their client to view, you may not use any SSL certificate (other than that of the server is) If you are going to connect to windows machines running IE8 or newer.

  • Problem with USB auto connect with clients that connect through the Security server...

Lack of VMware View 5.0.1 with 2 servers connection and a security server. When the clients connect directly to the server connection, USB connection works very well... users can use their USB drives and other devices with their VM. The problem occurs when they attempt to use their USB devices when negotiated through the Security server.

I know that port 32111 (TCP) must be open between the server security and the connection to the server, but even after doing so it does not always work... customers just to get the scrolling message of office in the USB menu initialization.

    Our current facility is:

External IP address-> DMZ (Security Server)-> connect to server

Entrust us our firewall config through our ISP (we are not overloaded with scientists here, it's just me, so things like little help my work load). They are certainly not incompetent (or at least were not in the past). I had to open the external 32111 IP port to the DMZ, then of the DMZ to our connection server that is used for external connections. Everything about VMware View works perfectly for the clients that connect this way, but not USB devices.

One thing I give is if our having a configuration of VLAN dedicated for customers views influence what either. I'm trying to keep an eye on what ports are open that for our firewall for my records, but I do not see where I openly opened ports on the internal side of security server to our internal network. He must have the port opened directly from the internal face of security server of vmware 32111 discovers clients?

The firewall Guys tell me that they checked over and over that port 32111 is open throughout the. They also said that they tried to telnet 32111 to our security server port and have nothing back (should have gotten garbage at least according to them).

An idea of the next steps to take? It is obviously a blocked port, I just have no idea why at this stage.

I know that port 32111 (TCP) must be open between the server security and the connection to the server, but even after doing it still does not work

This is not what it takes. The agent is listening on the port 32111, you must open the firewall to allow connections to the Security server for the desktop on port 32111 (same thing you must allow RDP and PCoIP).

  • Server problems

    Hello everyone,

I have problems connecting to the server. I recently downloaded Microsoft Office 365, and I have the product installed on my computer. However, when I click on the ""Sign in"button in the upper right corner of Microsoft Word (Excel, Powerpoint) it sends a message saying"Sorry, we have temporary server problems."" At first I thought the problem was just of Microsoft Office, but now, I've seen other products I was installing have said similar things such as "cannot connect to Server", "is there a problem with your connection", or 'server '.

I have wifi and there are always 4-5 bars in the lower right corner, and I am able to use the internet browser (I use it as I type this). The first thing I looked at was the server information. Most of the information went over my head, because I am a novice at this stuff, but the essential, that they mentioned was to connect the clock of the internet via the control panel. I did and I still have these server problems. Another thing to check, I saw was the bing via the command prompt. I tried and it said 0% loss (4 envoys and 4 received) and server problems have continued.

    I have a Windows 7 Inspiron 537 s, and my internet is provided by AT & T.

This office has been mainly sitting back where it has not been used much (my brother and I used sporadically). I decided to move instead of easier access, because it's a good computer.

The main culprit, I can think of is the wireless network adapter I bought, so this computer is Wi-Fi (instead of an Ethernet cable on the floor), but like I said that the computer has a strong wifi connection. The adapter is a Netgear AC1200.

No other devices on my network are facing this problem, it's just this office.

    So, just a little recap

    1. I have a wifi connection, and I am able to use internet browsers and download files.
    2. I can't connect to the "servers", such as Microsoft Office.

Any help would be appreciated, because I can't seem to find someone with a similar problem on the internet.

This is a link to where I posted this question in the Forum Office (Accident, I didn't see it), where a person tried to help me and there is a little more information. Aid has led to post me here, and the guest in this thread is the same as exact as this thread.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query on Microsoft Community forum.

According to the description of the problem, it seems that there could be a chance of third-party applications, services or security software are limiting to connect.

So I would you suggest temporarily disabling security software and perform the clean boot and then try to sign in to Office 365 and see if it helps.

    Step 1

Try temporarily disabling security software and then see if it helps.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attack.

    Step 2

    Perform a clean boot.

Put your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-us

Note: See "how to reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting" to prepare the computer to start as usual after a repair.

In addition to that I suggest you to check the system files are they work very well or not and to check who are trying to run the (SFC) System File Checker tool.

Scan SFC will be scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

    1. Go to Start, click all programs and open the Accessories.
    2. Right-click on command prompt in the list programs, and then select run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click OK.
    3. In the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow

For more information, refer to this link:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833/en-us

Hope it would help. If the problem still persists, post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the suggestions, we will be happy to help you.

    Kind regards

  • PCoIP Raccordementvia security server view Horizon 6.2.1

Given the problem with connecting to the office via a security server view VDI.  She starts to connect, is a black screen for about 10 seconds, then disconnects.

    This is my setup

    All ports are two-way.

Public IP address is NAT for the Security server in the DMZ.  I have TCP 80, TCP 443, TCP & UDP 4172 open ports on the Security server.  (I tested by telnet to the public IP address on 80, 443, & 4172.  It works)

From the Security server in the DMZ, I ports TCP 4001, 8009, 4172, 3389 UDP 4172 open from the Security server to my login server in-house.

From the Security server in the DMZ I have ports TCP 3389, TCP and UDP 4172 open for VDI desktops.

I am able to connect to computers correctly using the server for internal connection on PCoIP.  It is only on the Security Server I'm getting the black screen problem.

    Any ideas?

I found actually just the problem.  I had to activate the secure gateway PCoIP and I had to enter the public IP address and the port 4172.  Initially, I activated it and he used internal connection server address it and it did not work so then I changed it to the IP address of the DMZ security server and it still doesn't work.  While I was reading upward on the setting that I saw that had to be the accessible public address.  Once he did that, he started to work!

Product: VMware Horizon 6 connection Server - Error 1335. The file ' Replic ~ 1.cab ' required for this installation is damaged and cannot be used. This may indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.

It turns out that it was the MSI. When I have re-uploaded the file, it works beautifully.   I had just used this file 10 minutes before.  Will show measure twice... really does matter

Save this here for others to avoid my mistake ;-)

  • One of my view security server shows as "unknown" in Administrator dashboard view

    Hello

One of my view security server (view Horizon 5.2) shows as UNKNOWN in Administrator dashboard view.

I tried with the declared, rebooted Server services restart, still no luck.

The stated server is accessible via RDP and the Services are running.

Can someone help me on this?

This problem has been resolved by disabling Windows NLB NETWORK adapter settings.

We used Windows NLB long back for security servers, recently we removed view Security Server NLB Windows and place in F5 load balancing.

Not sure for some reason, the Windows NETWORK load balancing service came active, disabled, and the problem solved.
