Edge 320 CPU overheats too easily.

Hi, when I don't do anything too intensive on my Thinkpad E320, the temperature of the CPU is about 50 degrees Celsius, but when I play a game, even a game that is of the requirements is much lower than I need, the temperature goes down to 85 degrees and the strength of the laptop restarts. What is a safe temperature of CPU to do, and how can I keep it cool? I tried lifting up so that there is space between the vents on the bottom and the table, but it makes no difference.

Thank you!

Overheating problems are often caused by poor air circulation in the computer case. Have you tried to use a Chill Mat?

Also, try cleaning with compressed air, make sure all the fans are nice and clean and the heat sink is shiny. Spray just the air across it, it's going to be enough to remove the dirt and grime.

Since the Manual of Maintenance of equipment , it seems that you should only take the backdoor to clean the system. The instructions to remove the backdoor begin on page 49, that will not void your warranty; If you decide to do something else, you may void the warranty.

  • Edge 320 Bluetooth cannot be activated.

    Dear useful people,

I can't activate my bluetooth more after you have reinstalled Win7 x 64 to my Edge 320 after installing a minipci-E SSD on the expansion slot.

When I hit Fn + F9 show my wireless connection Options, but there is no bluetooth plus (as there was before the new Win7 installation).

Drivers are up-to-date due to the update of Lenovo tool, checked the Bios to activate bluetooth.

All of the recommendations, what can I do? Thanks in advance.

    Hi again, gmthimself

By the spec of your machine, you should be equipped with a Bluetooth adapter. You can try to perform a reinstallation of the operating system, in the hope that the card would be recognized. You could also open the machine up (if you feel comfortable) and make sure that the Bluetooth card is connected properly. If you choose this option, here is the Manual of hardware Maintenance for your machine, which can guide you through the installation and removal of components of the computer. Finally, you can call 0800-5004618 assistance and speak with someone get your repaired unit.

  • Tecra 8100 CPU gets too hot

Well, some may remember my previous post about the fan activation in my Tecra 8100.

This laptop came to me as a gift by a customer, because the screen didn't work. After some research, the problem was the internal cold cathode that was broken. Once replaced: Yes! a free book for me! It was a Pentium III 650 Mobile, with 64 MB of RAM and a 12 GB hard drive. I replaced all the components (which are now on sale, btw), and now has a Pentium III 850 Mobile, 512 MB of RAM and a 40 GB hard drive. Someone gave me a card PCMCIA of WiFi 11 Mbit/s, and now how it works with Windows XP Professional and updated Toshiba Utilities and drivers downloaded from Toshiba USA.

What's the buzz? SpeedFan, Motherboard Monitor and other monitoring utilities reported temperatures up 72a? Aºc in the processor. I opened the computer laptop and put thermal paste instead of the sticker that has the heat sink. Temperature guard high and utilities Toshiba even with parameters ' cooling high performance "does not have the fan to cool the cpu...

I hangs at all, but the business cards and pcmcia laptop have too hot even with the system works with any of the applications running. Lowering of the CPU clock or the ratio helps not at all.

I think putting a fan somewhere extra to force air circulation and that cool the cpu, unless...

... Toshiba could develop a utility that allows you to directly control the fan speed. I don't know if the thermal management is hardware or software-driven. If it is a software-driven, it should be easy to create a utility that directly access the fan and temperature records. It would be MUCH better than simply let the computer decide when and how long to activate the fan.

I'm sure that Toshiba engineers are busy with more important things which will not create the utility for us, so...

.. What to check or do to cool the CPU at more appropriate values?

    Thank you all!

    Hello

As in you previous announcement describes the Toshiba power saver controls the CPU and fan usage.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=12585
This software works very well, and if you use the laptop as prescribed, you should not get all the problems and overheating problems.

The problem is that you have changed all the devices and parts on you laptop. The new parts are effective, but produce more heat.
On the laptop you can cool the CPU with a small fan, and if she goes out, it is necessary to decrease the performance of the processor.
It is a simple fact. All these functions can be set with energy saver.
In addition, it is very important that your cooling module is clear and free from dust and debris obstruct the work of fan.

  • Satellite L40 CPU is too hot?

I just bought a Satellite L40 with a intel T2370 processor and I have a feeling that its temperature is high enough.
Everest ultimate sensors show a temperature around 70 c during operation.

    This temperature is normal?
Other users have a similar temperature?

    Thank you.

    Hello

The temperature of your laptops is certainly not too high!

    You need to know some important facts;
First a few 3rd party tools don t always provide values for temperature of 100%!
Second, the internal temperature is constantly changing.

Running some games, videos, or other high performance programs would lead to higher heat dissipation and a higher temperature
This is a common behavior of laptop so don t be worried that something is wrong with your laptop ;)

By the way; the laptop supports an overheating protection. It will stop automatically if the temperature is too high.
If the computer laptop doesn t turns off automatically, your CPU temp is ok.

  • ENVY 17 3D - no overheating, no surprise, but suddenly the CPU is too

Since HP has really managed to kill the line of envy and merge it with the Pavilion dv line, brand envy low poor quality material pavilions, I still use my old, real envy 17 3d 1195ea apart elitebook workstations brilliant, because his only able successor, the 17 line 3200, is no longer available for purchase , and something more recent (envy j# line) is low-middle-end consumer crap.

now the line want 1000 overheats as soon as it is powered on without news, I could manage quite well by opening to the top of each month and cleaning inside, same repasted CPU & GPU some 3 months ago, making the time decreased by 10 degrees in general.

However, since a few weeks I meet some really strange and excessive overheating of the CPU (although the 5850 m GPU was overheating mainly of firs to date).

It is idling at 65-85, but with each burst (happening several times a second), it reached 99 to 100 degrees for a fraction of a second. That is to say. times are constantly jumping up to 100.

pull up something really stressing, as a game (CS - because its bound processor) or an application with emphasis on the CPU, makes the scope of the CPU 100 degrees in less than 1-2 minutes, leading to the heavy restrictions and ergo great performances.

even strongly linked to the GPU games keep the GPU at 90-95 degrees (from my experience in the past, during bad weather the GPU begins to 104 degrees, so no question of limitation at all), while the CPU gets up to 100 and the throttles.

now my question - is the only explanation for what the thermal paste has become dysfunctional? That is to say. repasting it would solve it?

or else maybe the reason for this?

    Thank you

OK, repasting has a job well done. now, I'm back at temperatures around 85-98 for two, CPU GPU & under medium to heavy load. Surf and light load remains at 70-80 degrees.

so I can't tag this thread as resolved, even if only a 'real' solution would be a different cooling system, IE. a second fan heatsinks more/more thick, Gill more...

or a REAL new Envy 17 3D, IE. no desire to brand pavillion.

  • Equium M40X silver high marks too easily

My new M40X has a silver coloured screen and cover top which marks if you look at all. He had a transparent plastic cover, but it is ugly and peeled off. It is stupid to do something so easily scratched when it is a portable device. Otherwise, it's a really great machine. Stupid design flaw or deliberate?

Can do something about it. Angry. :-(

    Hello

AFAIK this sheet of plastic on the top lid is only one temporary protection of transport. I also removed this sheet. I think that it s not a fault of design or something like that. In my opinion, the laptop is much better without this roadmap. In addition, I use a carry case for transportation and in my opinion, it of a reasonably protected.

Take advantage of this device. It s really a cute notebook ;)

  • My CPU is too noisy

Hello guys, I'm new here and I am happy that I have just register at this community forum. I bought a HP Compaq Presario CQ58 laptop and it works really well, but in the month last CPU began to get noisy. I installed SpeedFan to monitor processes and other things and I noticed that the temperature in my laptop is really high (look at picture down).

Can someone help me cool my CPU, ' cuz it is really teasing me.

    Thanks indeed!

You can buy a can of compressed air for cleaning PCS in most electronics stores.

Use compressed air on the ports of entry and exaust on the bottom of your laptop. It will have the effect of clean dust from the CPU fan.

  • Portable player ejects too easily

Bought a new laptop disk Seagate 3 gigabytes at Costco for my MacBook Pro.  It works fine as long as I'm using an external key on board and do not touch the MBP.  But the slightest movement of the computer or the player locked.  I had another drive portable Seagate as the excellent worked for the first year, and then he began to do the same thing, where the reason I bought a new.  I tried the new on another machine and it ejected as soon as I moved just so I know that's not the computer.  I tried another cable, same result.  So now I have 2 portable drives that only work if I keep them perfectly still.  Is this a common problem?

Try a different cable or a different box.

    Perhaps it means switch brands.

  • Keyboard shortcuts work too easily

I just got a new laptop with Windows 7... I noticed that when I type for a reason, keyboard shortcuts begin opening in every sense things when I didn't hit all the shortcuts I know.

Earlier, trying to this type (very slowly), I moved automatically to the url bar, open a new tab twice, open My Favorites menu and moved to the bar twice - the Bing search while all, that I did is typing this message.

Try typing a single line of information, I have 12 open/past different windows!

Is it possible for me to prevent this? Or something wrong with my computer? I've NEVER had a computer to randomly open often things as if I'm hitting several keyboard shortcuts (notice now that I somehow allowed italic when I didn't).

It drives me crazy. I can't type slowly without opening/switching windows not to mention typing at my normal speed.

    1. try to go to the keyboard properties in Control Panel and slow down the settings there.
    2. check that u don't have a stuck key somewhere - is easy to do - Xmas Pudding gets everywhere ;-)

  • Dell Precision T5500 CPU upgrade

I did research on it and since I am not so material informed computer I think I must ask. There the mobo of 0D883F with processor E5504 (x 2). I want to upgrade to the fastest and most possible souls. I considered buying an opportunity T5500 and swaping the processor (the cheapest option), but there are so many different processors in of T5500 used even if finding the mobo specs show that compatibility for the 5500 series cpu. Found a T5500 used with (x 2) of the X 5650 and six cores that would be great for my work in Maya and of multiple Assembly photo/video-3D work. This could be the best option, so I can swap the cpu to my system, but I'm not sure what he would actually need exchanged. The 6 processor is 95w TDP and E5504 80w. Anyone know if this is possible at all? and what I would need to swap? I don't even know if the mobo is the same as one used, but looks in the images. Can I run a TDP 95w cpu on my mobo which now has 80w CPUs? Thanks a bunch

Yeap, you can learn more about here (especially on the second page of comments. First page has more photos and other things): http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514/t/19370823.aspx?pi21953=2

But the important thing is that the radiator main stock of aluminum is bad. Actually, it's a low-end model (according to Dell) and the radiator from the main processor performance is U016F part number. They are very easy to find on ebay (for $15). In any case, this fixed the overheating problem of mine with the dual cpu x 5650. I've actually put the 5675 x in my other T5500 and it still works a little warmer than the x 5650 but very manageable compared to with the heatsink in aluminium (number T021F). There is not much difference in the 2 cpu (both running 6 cores and 95watts) with the exception of the clock speed. In my tests with Maya, the difference in performance between the 2 is minimal. As for the difference in motherboards? I still have no idea. Dell could not even meet this other that the most recent jury having a "C2" little matter that is. We thought it would not change the cooling to the Board of Directors at all, so the main culprit was the primary heat sink. It is just difficult to track because things are not too logical (at least to me). System monitors, I used (3 of them) showed overheating cpu was #1 (which numbered #1 and #0) make me believe extension (secondary) cpu was overheating one. Dell Diagnostics was stressing cpu #0 and monitors showed the cpu #1 heating upward. I go crazy. Finally, I pulled the riser (effectively making it a computer single processor) and confirmed that the principal was a overheating. This main heater is the problem and you should definitely use the largest radiator of U016F (better) on the primary no matter what. The extension, there is no option to change what I can find. There was only one option, I think that for the T5500 T7500 both. If we wanted to move to the X 5680 (race 135watts), I think the two cpu overheats and would not be able to be cooled by the heat sinks in the system. But I would be wrong in this regard. I think x 5680 are the fastest cpu we could put in these systems (on these mobos anyway). I hope this helps.

  • Portege M400 unable to find the new 320 GB HARD drive

    Hello

I'm moving my 80 GB HARD drive to a new WD 320 and research questions. Although I've updated the Bios with the latest version of the disk hard is not down to any operating system when it is in the main HARD drive Bay. The weird thing is completely visible in the removable Bay. Is this a configuration issue, I am missing or is the machine not reconise the 320 GB drive because that is the essential motivation?

Any help or pointers would be great

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy

In my opinion, your new HARD drive cannot be recognized because of the size of the HARD drive.
The 320 are simply too. I think that the laptop would be able to use a 100 GB or 120 GB of HARD drive but the 320GB are not supported.

So change your disk of 320 GB to a smaller size and try again.

    Good luck

  • 320 GB external drive (PX1267E - 1 GB 32) under Linux

    Hello

I just bought a Toshiba 320 GB external (PX1267E - 1 32 GB) disc and I need to work on Linux.

Linux recognizes the drive as a SDA, but give an error of e/s with an impossible to read the partition table.

No idea what is the problem? Can I use this disc in linux?

    Carlos.

    Hello

What type of HARD drive that you are using? You format the drive external HARD for Linux compatibility mode?
As far as I know that Linux could read FAT32 but 320 GB is too big for FAT32. If you want to use FAT32, you have to fund single partitions on the 320 GB HARD drive.
I m not 100% sure of the size of FAT32 max, but I think the 32 GB limit.

Many Linux distributions also read NTFS but as far as I know the Red Hat Fedora und is not able to handle this format. It doesn't exist in the core.

I got this hp Pavilion a6000n friend and I basically rebuilt this computer, but I'm not sure what CPU I can go to. I've been watching this cpu for my computer. I am running windows 7 64 bit. This upgrade of the processor is possible for my computer?

Edit: I also watched this cpu, if the other cpu is too powerful.

    Here are the specifications of your HP Pavilion a6000n desktop computer and its card mother M2N68 - LA (narrated). Based on these specifications, this model supports the following processors;

    Type of socket: AM2
    TDP: 89 watt
Athlon 64 X 2 with Dual Core technology up to 5600 + (up to 89 watt)
    Athlon 64 4000 + less than
