The fan comes on full power for a second or two then quit entirely. After 10 seconds, the fan can be heard gradually increases to a normal level. Meanwhile, no activity on the screen.

The power light is on with the wifi led
The led caps lock flashes in a sequence of flashing 2 with a long interval between

I tried:
hard reboot
BIOS reset by pressing win + B keys when you press the power button, but it doesn't seem to do anything

I solved this by downloading the update to the bios on a USB key and plug that while doing a startup in the bios. My laptop is now working well

  • Satellite Pro L500 - press Fn key blocks the laptop computer to blue screen

    Hi all
First post so please ask if I did not include all the necessary information.

I have the Satellite Pro L500-1TX (Win 7 32 bit os) and everything worked fine including the Fn menu drop-down button.

Now, whenever I press the Fn key, it blocks the laptop to a blue screen. The computer then restarts automatically and that it was an unplanned shutdown offers the usual safe mode option.

Unfortunately, I do not know when this started as I do not use the fn often hesitate so just do a system restore. I don't know how far back to go. It was several weeks before I associated accidents hit the Fn key.

Any suggestions as to which Toshiba drivers may need to be reinstalled. The computer otherwise works fine.

    Cheers in advance

  • Black laptop computer screen discoloration

Hello! I'm here because I had a problem with my laptop recently. I have a HP Pavilion G6 (don't know what year but I bought it in 2012) and for about 2 weeks, my computer screen has just been randomly fades to black.

It is not closed, it stays on and I can still here sound, but the screen remains black. I tried to use an external monitor, but it did the same thing. Also, I get no error message like this happens.

I ran malwarebytes and AVG, removing all he detected, but the same thing is happening. I don't know what is happening.

I did not open my computer or anything like that. Just in case, he began to arrive.

I hope that someone can provide an answer, it would be greatly appreciated.

I suggest you try to do the following:

Press Windows key + R-> type regedit-> press ENTER. Click Yes, if UAC prompts.

See the link to back up the registry first, before continuing:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/322756

Now, in the left pane, navigate to the following folder:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control

Once you select the control, you will find a set of entries in the right pane.

Double-click "WaitToKillServiceTimeOut" to change the value. Change it in 2000.

Click Ok, close the registry editor and restart the PC to check.

If the problem persists, try this:

Click Start-> type cmd-> press Ctrl + Shift + Enter (to start cmd in administrative mode). Type the following command and press enter (make sure all your files are saved and all applications are closed):

    shutdown-s-t 00-f

This stops the PC. Check the time it takes to turn it off. If the problem does not occur, change the value in the previous method in 1000 and check. If the problem persists, change 500 then check.

If the problem occurs, it may be due to drivers. Try to update the drivers, specific display drivers. If no update is available, try to reinstall the drivers: uninstall the drivers, reboot the PC, install the drivers, reboot the PC and then check.

Tap here to f11 as soon as you press the power button until you see a message "Windows is loading.

On the next screen, select your Keyboard Layout and on the next screen, select Troubleshooting.

  • Cannot modify startup programs - very slow laptop computer at startup.

Hi my laptop is running slow at startup, so I thought I would "change the startup programs" via the control panel.

I get the message 'Windows Defender is disabled' then when I try to turn it on it freezes.

    I have Microsoft Security Essentials.

This question was asked several times but no answers that I can see.

    Thank you

MSE disables Defender by default, MSE has its own integrated version of Defender.

You can try this from Microsoft:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

This utility, which has a knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs configured to run at system startup or login and that the entries in the order of processing windows. These programs include those in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other registry keys. You can configure Autoruns to show other locations, including Explorer shell, toolbar extensions, helper objects to the browser, Winlogon notifications, auto and many start-up services even more. Autoruns goes way beyond the MSConfig utility bundled with Windows Me and XP.

    See you soon.

  • Laptop computer Samsung "Blue screen, has occurred", but I do not understand one?

I recently got a laptop Samsung with 8 Windows pre-installed. Several times, I get a notification of Samsung saying that a blue screen has occurred. I've never known one or got one, then why am I false reports? Please help, thanks.

Something bad will happen if I do not take any action against him?

It will gradually get worse and you need to perform a full recovery or repair any.  Ex: replace the memory, etc...

I don't know what the issue is without error codes that look like this:

    Signature of the problem:
    Problem event name: BlueScreen
    The system version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3
    Locale ID: 1033

    More information about the problem:

    BCP2: 00000004
    BCP3: 00000000
    BCP4: 00000000

If I knew what they were, we can remedy.  Otherwise, if you have a 14 day return policy, and the device has sent messages of the blue screen since you took possession of it, I return it.

  • HP Envy 4500: Printer connected to the network; laptop computer connected to the network; laptop cannot find the printer!

I searched through the forums and read a few threads about similar questions, but do not yet have a solution to my problem.  The printer is connected to the network (even printed page "Congratulations, you're connected" with all the relevant information).  It is on the same network as my laptop.  However, when I run the exe to install on my laptop, it does not find the printer, even when I put the IP address the printer gave me on the congratulations page!  I have run Avast Free Antivirus 2015 on my machine, but don't see any particularly troubling parameters which could interfere.

Any thoughts on how I can get the laptop to see the printer?

    Henchman21,

Thank you for the information you have provided to us. I will be you initial steps that could solve the problem.

    Solution

    1. do you have the HP Envy 4500 connected to your computer via the usb cable

    2. If you have installed the correct software for your HP Envy 4500 and the drivers on your computer, you will need to run

    * Note: If the software and drivers for the HP Envy 4500 does not work or does not work the .exe, you must uninstall it in add it and remove programs.

2 1a, you should download the drivers and software for the HP Envy 4500 on-site HP click on this link.

2 2 b If you have correctly downloaded it you must connect the HP Envy 4500 device to the computer via a usb cable and launch the installation. Usb printers will be automatically detected by your computer. Installation of HP Assistant there will be a point he will ask you if you want to configure the computer for wireless connectivity, it's time that all wireless information stored on your computer will be transferred to the HP Envy 4500. If this does not work! and I know that it will not...

    3. you should check if you have administrative rights on the computer.

I hope that the solution I provided will work for you.

Let me know if the steps above don't work for you

  • HP envy 15-j140na: maintenance of fan for a hp envy 15

    Hello.

I am the owner of a HP Envy 15-j140na and wonder about the maintenance of my computer, I had the laptop for over a year and the warrinty has expiered, unfortonatly is when defects and problems begin to occoure in my computer, like the fan. The first thing I would like to talk about is what to do if something is stuck in the box fan that I hear a ratteling in this area as well as the sound of a small object occasonal felt road by the fan. The second is the progressive of dust in the computer collection as it's notable vagually because of me constantly on the road with my laptop,

Some advice for what would be good.

Summary: to the fan in laptop, done occasonal noise, dust problems?

Notes; object can be in the position where he is sucked to the fan only to be hit by far later.

    @Fellx

Taking into account of the laptop is no longer under warranty - and that you are interested in taking on the task of opening the box - then you can take a look at the Guide of Serviceand then decide your best course of action.

Section: Removal and replacement procedures preliminary requirements

    Chapter 4, Page 34

Section: Removal and replacement procedures for parts of service provider approved > Fan

    Chapter 6, Page 62

Fan of repairs and repairs of this type in general, are not generally prohibitive compared to some other things that can happen.  Repair times, assuming that nothing else is wrong, definitely not months.  I should wait a few days, if that, would be required to complete single fan related repairs.  Of course, if something is wrong, the cost and the time required to complete the repair could change.

I do not recommend, or I say otherwise, that you should or should not try to fix it yourself.  It is entirely your decision based on your skill set, your level of interest in the task once and your determination to avoid that the work done by a reliable repair home.

Avoid the sprays of chemicals - compressed air is not always just air.  Read the label before applying any substance to your computer.

    Good luck.

  • HP Envy 15-j140na: HP SimplePass fingerprint reader incentive is not to connect

    Hello

I just bought the HP Envy 15-j140na sound of HP. The laptop is fantastic, but I'm having a problem with the fingerprint reader. The computer comes with the simplepass 8.00.57 already installed the version of the software.

The problem I have, is that once I implemented the simple passage fingerprint reader, it lead me to analyze my impression when connecting windows and I have to log on normally. I checked all the settings and it should be implemented, however there is no prompt. Just to emphasize that everything works fine. I can't sign in Web sites on IE no problem at all using the fingerprint reader. It can be a little frustrating because it goes against the interest of having a fingerprint reader.

Any help to operate would be greatly apprecieted,

    Bravo guys.

    Hello

The error code will be a Smart failure or disk Self Test - in both cases, this would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the question of commissioning.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.

  • Need to reinstall Vista OEM laptop computer, but does not have install media

I already have the serial number of my windows that was on my laptop and now I need to install it on the same laptop. but I don't have the windows CD. So, I have to download it. but I can't find any valid and functional link to be on microsoft or any other Web site. is there anywhere to download?

    * original title - where can I download a windows vista Enterprise edition? *

    Hello

There is no available free and legal Vista download

Here are the different ways to reinstall vista:

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a microsoft dvd vista

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

Save all data, because it will be lost, do the above

    Thanks for the tip

The tutorial to repair/upgrade of the system indicates that you need to run Windows "inside."

When I boot to windows and insert the installation CD the autorun on the CD does not start

I can't access the Task Manager to start
I can click on ctrl alt del and the window of the user of the switch but when I select Start Task Manager nothing happens (and I waited 10 minutes)

I booted in safe mode with command prompt and ran the installation starts, but the upgrade option is disabled in safe mode

I also tried msconfig and disable the start up programs (and other MS, then those) - trying to do a clean boot.

    Still nothing

Can a few tips on how I transfer files to a USB key from the safe mode command prompt effectively?

    I forgot a lot of BACK :)
