ENVY 17 issue of Eyefinity configuration

Hello

I wonder how can I run my HP ENVY 17 with Eyefinity in Battlefield 3 and other games. I have three monitors and they all work perfectly in Windows 7, but only one monitor is used in games (I even tried Dirt 2).

The computer I have is an ENVY 17/CTO-2000.

I look forward to hearing from someone.

    Hello

I'm new to this Yes please forgive my ignorance. My new Envy 17 - n111tx is about to happen, and from what I understand, I'm able to add an extra storage device in the optical drive Bay.

I would like to replace one of the hard drives of 2 TB with an SSD (Crucial MX200 250 GB) and then put the HARD drive in the optical drive Bay.

    Here are my questions:
    1. what kind of SSD do I need, the 2.5 "or M2?
2 should I all media for this?
3 I need supports when installing the HARD disk in the optical drive Bay?
    4. among the two hard drives of 2 TB, which is installed the OS on?

    Thanks for your help

    Kam124,

I have found some additional reading for you - on the "Equipment and upgrade" section of this forum.

In the "Discussion forums" (upper left corner), select "Notebook Hardware Upgrade issues and.

Next - search once you're in the hardware section - 'HP 17 n' which will take you to tread:

Re: HP Envy 17 n-000, also known as the M8W99AV_1

This discussion (with photos), this is what you are needing to know the upgrade of your system - the only difference is, you already have the hard-drive-kit (hardware) they discuss.  So you will not need to be overly concerned about adding 2nd HARD drive - but it is interesting to read.

The photos included - must be exactly what your system will look-very neat - and easy to upgrade.

ATTENTION: There is a link to youtube (on page 5) about how to add a 2nd HDD to an Envy 17 - this does NOT apply to your odel - is a portable 17 alumni.

Some centers of discussion on the SSD m2 - I have not looked at all this discussion - but I'm sure it will be interesting.

    Hope this helps,

  • XPS 8700: Issue of drive configuration

On my 8700 XPS running Windows 7, I intend to use an external drive connected to one of the SATA motherboard ports eSATA occasionally, but the external hard drive is not permanently attached and running.  Which of these wirings of disk configuration is not OK:

    Scenario one:

    • SATA 0: hard drive
    • SATA 1: eSATA, but normally no drive connected.  Sometimes an external drive would be attached. (this should be enabled/disabled in the BIOS every time?).
    • SATA 2: optical drive

    Scenario 2:

    • SATA 0: hard drive
    • SATA 1: optical drive
    • SATA 2: eSATA, but normally no drive connected.  Sometimes an external drive would be attached. (this should be to be enabled/disabled in the BIOS everytime?).

    Thank you!

    Hi Lone Star,

It should make no difference. However, you can assign a drive letter on the external drive, so it does not change other drive letter assignments when you connect the eSATA drive.

  • Issue of DIRT configuration

When you set up the DIRT on the unit 4.05, Exchange outside, I planned a regular backup with a svc account had full access to the SQL Dbs, who chose not to save messages. I accidentally checked the 'include the subscriber messages' and before I could uncheck it, the unit began to display messages (see below) and the only way I could stop the closure of the messages had to end task. Now when I try to open the DIRT backup tool, I get these messages and get there uncheck messages of "backup." The tool is configured to run with an account that has access SQL, but not message store access.

How can I fix in order to enter into the tool of the DIRT from the unit and get the backup copy works again?

Yes, I need to change the behavior here to throw the error message, write to the event log and deselect automatically - just have not got around him.

You can remove the option manually in the registry - go to HKLM\Software\Active Voice\DisasterRecovery\Settings\. You will see "IncludeMessages" as a DWORD option - set it to 0. The next time you open backup DiRT that it will not try to assume you want to save the messages.

  • Issue of cluster Configuration

    Hello
I have a 3-node cluster and 1 of the present has more cpu rather the other 2.
Is there a document that suggests that all nodes should be equal?

    Hello

This question you can get you anwser using this note:
RAC: Frequently asked Questions [220970.1 ID]
Can I have different servers in my Oracle RAC? Can be from different vendors? Can be different sizes?
    ...
Oracle RAC supports a cluster nodes with different hardware configurations. An example is a cluster to another node with 6 CPUs and 3 knots with 4 processors. This can easily happen when you add a new node after the cluster has been in production for some time. For this type of configuration, clients must take into account some additional features for optimal cluster performance. The servers in the cluster can be from different vendors; It is fully supported as long as they run the same binary files. Given that many clients implement Oracle RAC for high availability, you must make sure that your hardware vendor will support the configuration. If you have a failure, you will be supported for the hardware configuration?

    Thank you

First of all, make your memory sticks 3 x 4 GB. 6 GB is not enough for correct performance.

Use your F3 4 in two tables in raid0 on the mobo. Look here for the distribution of the types of files: Forums Adobe: generic guideline for disk configuration

Partitioning will only cause wear on your disks and make it slower, so do not use partitions.

  • Inconsistencies and/or documentation issues with the configuration of DTD files

There seems to be some inconsistencies in the implementation and/or documentation DTD references to use with consistent XML configuration files.

    * (1) operational configuration *.

The documentation available in the States [http://wiki.tangosol.com/display/COH35UG/Operational+Configuration+Elements]

"Deployment of Configuration descriptor operational coherence should start with the following DOCTYPE declaration:
    <!DOCTYPE coherence PUBLIC "-//Oracle, Inc.//DTD Oracle Coherence 3.5//EN"; "http://www.tangosol.com/dtd/coherence_3_3.dtd">
-Why the URI refers to the * 3.3* DTD when it comes of a * 3.5* configuration?
-Is accessible URI? Currently [http://www.tangosol.com/dtd/coherence_3_3.dtd] redirects to [http://www.oracle.com/tangosol/index.html]
-the operational configuration in coherence.jar references * <! DOCTYPE SYSTEM consistency "coherence.dtd"; > * so it does not follow the documentation

    * (2) cache config *.

The documentation available in the States [http://wiki.tangosol.com/display/COH35UG/Cache+Configuration+Elements]

"The Configuration of the Cache descriptor must begin with the following DOCTYPE declaration:
    <!DOCTYPE cache-config SYSTEM "cache-config.dtd";>
-Why is it a different mechanism (SYSTEM rather than PUBLIC) for compared to the operational configuration documentation?

    support the Editor * (3) *.

If developers use the recommended syntax (2) editors such as Eclipse cannot provide supported of AutoComplete XML instructions. This is because the XML catalog requires a full URI refer to the DTD.

This is explained in the wiki of the eclipse [http://wiki.eclipse.org/Using_the_XML_Catalog] as follows:

"Note: If your XML document uses a DOCTYPE declaration (as shown below) which specifies a relative URI location (for example ' Invoice.dtd' as opposed to a full URI) then a DTD may * NOT * be registered using 'Invoice.dtd '; the key Id system. »

Based on this problem, there are solutions, but would it not possible to have a complete qualified reference of DTD public? This would facilitate the tools support.

For example, some configuration of base cover problems could be avoided by using code completion in the XML editor.

    * (4) support XML schema *.

I noticed that the .NET config files use XML schema (see below), while Java uses DTD.
    <cache-config xmlns="http://schemas.tangosol.com/cache">
This seems to offer benefits in the validation in the DTD. Are there not intend to harmonise this using diagrams for Java also?

    Best regards

    Hi Phil,

Thank you very much for this.

    1, 2) fixed - staring with coherence 3.4 must + +.

    (3) seems to be a limitation specific to the eclipse. Other (IDEA, XmlSpy) XML editing tools have no problem with that. I'll check for a work around.

    (4) Yes, we intend to move to schema validation in all areas.

  • 700 - 215xt envy: graphics issue on want 700-215xt

My system has developed a problem with the display about 4 weeks ago.  The screen now has a subtle red in white areas and green now for what should be a black background).

I noticed at the time when the system seemed to be cycling through different display modes;  After like 2 minutes, the display has been disabled, Color, ever since then.   I checked the display on another computer and it is very well (connected through a hdmi cable).  I reconnected it to the ch, and the colors are still at large.

    I'm 1 year in a 2-year warranty support plan.

You wonder if you have other suggestions for debugging.   I could try the vga output and connect up to the screen and see if that solves nothing.

Should I open a ticket of warranty with HP?

    Thank you

    Hi Bob,

Given that your PC is still under warranty, I suggest that you contact HP support.

HP support number is 800-474-6836 or 800-HPINVENT or online here.

If your PC has a discreet graphics card, try again reinstalling (remove and replace) it.

  • Envy 15 k233ca: memory upgrades and hhd

I'm trying to find out if the k233ca has a capacity of upgrade. By reading the plug here and there, the motherboard has 2 slots and there is 1 to 8 GB 1600 Mhz DDR3L module.

When I called customer service to see if there was a favorite of the seller, they told me that the Ram was not expandable as the machine has only 1 location and tot of the MB does support up to 8 GB.

    Well...

As a technician, I'm leaning towards believing the former rather than the latter, and since I did not open upward again, I checked Everest and it shows 2 slots, one with a 8 GB module and a location empty.

Before I open the unit to find this information for me, I wondering if someone is more familiar with this device, or can point me to a more detailed specifications and current page?

    My questions are specifically,

    1. What is the model of the motherboard more precisely and will support 16 gig?
    2. This is a configuration of dual slot, so I can use 2 x 8 GB modules?
    3. Can I use a low latency Ram? replace the original module to match of course...
    4. Is there a QVL for this MB?

Now for the HHD, a question... This machine will support SSD?

    Based on the HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC HP ENVY 15 Notebook PC HP ENVY Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service Guide of m7, it seems you should be able to switch to 16 GB of RAM and an SSD as follows;

    Memory

    Two SODIMM slots
Support of the DDR3L - 1600 MHz Dual Channel
Supports up to 16 GB of RAM in the following configurations:
    ● 4096 MB total memory (4096 × 1).
    ● 8192 MB total memory (4096 × 2)
    ● 8192 MB total memory (8192 × 1).
    ● 12288 MB total memory (8192MB 4096)
    ● 16384 MB total memory (8192 × 2)

    Hard drives

Supports 6.35 cm (2.5 in.) 9.5 mm hard disks (. 37-in) and thicknesses of 7.0 mm (. 28 - in) (all hard drives use the same bracket)
    Storage SATA m2 (Port0)
    Accelerometer / HDD protection support
    Supports the following drives:
    ● 1.5 to 5400 RPM, 9.5 mm
    ● 1 TB 5400 RPM, 9.5 mm
    ● 750 GB 5400 RPM 9.5 mm
    ● 500 GB 5400 RPM 7mm / 9.5 mm for PC portable HP ENVY 15 only
    The hybrid configurations
    ● 1 TB 5400 + 8 GB NAND hybrid disc HARD 9.5 mm
    ● 750 GB 5400 + 8 GB NAND HARD 9.5 mm drive hybrid
    SSD drive

Only configured with up to 8 GB system memory:
    ● 256GO M.2 SATA (MLC)
    ● 256GO M.2 SATA (TLC)
Double storage configuration for the HP Envy 17 computer models
    ● 1 TB (5400) 9. 5 mm + 256 GB SSD SATA in m2 (TLC)
    ● 1 TB (5400) 9. 5 mm + 256 GB SSD SATA in m2 (MLC)

Please note that it requires an extensive disassembly and reassembly of the computer to make these improvements, including

remove, replace or loosening the screws up to 83. Also, note that other RAM/HDD/SSD configurations can run on this computer. It may be possible to have a facility that includes 16GB of RAM, a standard SATA III SSD and/or m2 SATA SSD card, but you will have to experiment to see specifically what works on your model.
