Envy 4500: HP Print App

I can't print using the HP application despite being able to do it before! I try to use the HP eprint app of a Nexus 7 with a S7 Galaxy and it is sent to the printer, but it hangs just with the message "Now Printing" but nothing happens! All parameters are in order as I know, the printer is visible on both devices. It's so frustrating. Help, please!

@BS6

Thanks for joining the Forums from HP Support.

It is the one-stop shop for all technical solutions.

Maybe I can help you with this. I understand that you cannot print using the HP application.

Please follow these instructions:

Step 1: Check the device Android, printer and network status

Make sure that your Android device, printer, and network are working properly and ready for printing.

  • Confirm your Android device is connected to the network: on your Android device, open the wireless settings and make sure that your device is connected to the network, you want to connect to the printer.
  • Make sure that the printer is turned on and connected to the network: the printer may be in mode 'sleep', power save mode or turned off the coast. Press or press a button on the printer control panel to wake up the printer. To confirm your connection to a printer, select your connection type.
    • Wireless network connection: on the printer, make sure that the indicator beside the wireless icon is either on and stable, or flashing. If the wireless light is not on or flashing, press the wireless button or open wireless network or setting menu to make sure that the wireless signal is activated.
    • Wired network connection: make sure the cable is connected to the printer Ethernet port and a port on the router. The green link light must be stable, and the orange activity light should be flashing when the cable is connected.
  • Make sure that the application you are trying to print from is supported by the print option. Looking for a print icon confirm that the application supports printing.
  • Move the printer and router closer together: move the printer and your Android device closer to your wireless router, but not less than 6 feet (1.8 m). Wireless signals may be lower at a greater distance between the printer and the router.
  • Check the broadband router: many routers can operate in the frequency bands 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz, but not all HP printers support both bands. Make sure that the band of 2.4 GHz router is enabled and broadcasting. If the router broadcasts the names of separate networks (SSID) for each band, connect the printer to the band of 2.4 GHz SSID.

What happens if I cannot print on my printer?

I hope this helps.

I will wait for your answer.

  • HP Envy 4500: Repeat Printing Documents

    Hi all

I have recently, in the last six months, plug a HP Envy 4500 series all-in-one printer as a gift for my parents. Apparently, he has a problem where it printed a document several times (despite asking only one copy) and will continue to print it whenever the printer is on.

On my advice, my parents followed the instructions of RESUMES provided here , but it made no difference to the problem. My hunch would be to reset the printer, but of course the menu aboard is unvailable while it's printing. Someone has any advice on what to do to solve the problem?

    Many thanks in advance,

    D.

    Hi @Darius89,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that your HP Envy 4500 continually prints an earlier document that was printed. I'm happy to discuss this issue for you!

Just to clarify, if you leave off the computer and turn on the printer, the printer still print the same document?

Is this document something that has been printed from the computer? Or is it an alignment page perhaps?

In the meantime, please try a hard reset by following the instructions contained in this message, How to perform a hard reset, by @Rich1. It is important that the power cable from the printer is plugged directly into the wall outlet, not a surge protector. Questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power. My ENVY 4500 guard printer disconnect sporatically. One minute I can print correctly, either the printer could not be reached. The printer status "the printer is not connected.

This continues to be of all devices, not only my iMAC. I tried my laptop, my iPad, iPhone. Same story. When it fires, he died for all devices. I tried to reinstall the printer, tried to restart, unplug. Nothing seems to fix.

If I print the report directly from the printer during this time, it says everything is connected and no problems found (see attached image).

Then after awhile, like an hour or two later, all of a sudden the printer will spit on all the prints that were in the queue.

I contacted support and they connected to the printer and reset some settings, and it started working, then a week later he did it again. She continues to do maybe once a week or more.

I don't know what to do more. Anyone have any ideas?

  • HP envy 4500: direct printing without having to change the wifi to printer

To print on a HP Envy 4500 from an Air iPad with iOS8, should I switch my network wifi to the printer whenever I want to print something?
For example through my email, there are several emails, each with an attachment that I I want to print. I choose my network WiFi, open the email attachment, return to wifi-changing the settings of printer-go back to the document and print it. Wait for it to print. To return to the e-mail, I return to settings-wifi-changes in my next email open network. Then go through the process of return to the printer.
There must be a simpler way to use "direct print", but when I try to print in the document, he says "no printer found AirPrint."
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello CdnCreekers,

It seems to me that you print to the printer WiFi Direct printing option. There is an easier way...

To begin with, I would turn off WiFi directly from the front panel of the printer > select direct WiFi, then turn it off.

I assume you already have your printer connected to your wireless network, if that's the case, then you just need to print from your iPad. The iPad must be on the same network as the printer to use Apple's Airprint wireless.

WiFi Direct is a great option for guests to use, but you don't need to have it on in order to print wirelessly on your printer.

  • HP Envy 4500: HP Envy 4500 - photo print half off the page. Print very well.

All of a sudden, my HP Envy 4500 failed to print all the images; documents continue to print OK.  For photos, the printer acts like it's works fine to start, but print only about half of the photo on the paper - it seeks to print the rest on the back of the photo a lot of ink rollers...

Research forums, this is the EXACT problem I have:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/inkjet-printing/HP-envy-4500-prints-only-half-of-the-photo/TD-p/3781222

I have uninstalled/reinstalled drivers, try to print from a different computer, laptop and even tried what was suggested in the post above - to copy a picture of the scanner on the printer itself.  Who printed still only half of the picture...

The consensus from the link above was a hardware problem.  My printer is no longer under warranty, so unless there is another thing I can try I will buy a new printer.   This one isn't worth it for me to pay to ship somewhere to remedy.

Any last suggestions until I have this gift to local traffic (with a note that it only prints documents)?

  • HP ENVY 4507: Envy 4500 only prints a PDF from PC

OK, so this is the 4th or 5th time I posted on this useless printer. Now for almost 6 months. And 3 different HP printers. I can only print from PC in pdf format. If I select a word doc or printing online. The printer icon loads and that's it. It does nothing else. There is none of the queues. I'm so fed up with it. I will never buy a HP item ever. Includng the desktop PC, I was sold as a gaming PC. With a 545GT graphics card. I can barely stay on the line as overheating but it's a whole different story lol., I just want to do what I did with each printer ther I used. Press on print and it prints. Why are there 2 profiles? Series 4500 and 4500 networking. I have uninstalled re-installed and tried all the work around known to humanity. Wil still only print to PDF files and nothing else. Please can you help me. This is my last attempt to fix this printer. In the case of failure embarks on a garbage depot. I used to promote HP products, but not more. They have dropped the ball. Cheap and nasty with components not conforming to standards hidden inside the material. Made in China is a big attention I'm afraid.

    Kind regards

    Mabrouk

    Hi @zookeeperz,

I read your post and see that the printer will only print the PDF documents. Usually, it's the opposite. I want to help you.

You use the latest drivers? Here is a link if you need it. HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Printer full feature software and drivers series.

If the printer is listed as the 4500 series and the networking of 4500, then most likely the USB and a network driver are both installed for the printer. It is in the devices window and printers?

Download and run the print and Scan Doctor, he will diagnose the problem and could solve it automatically.

I suggest to install a generic driver to see if you have the same results.

On the computer, go to start, devices and printers, right-click on your printer and select printer properties.

Click the Advanced tab and click new driver, and then click Next.

HP Deskjet 9800 by selecting in the list or the Deskjet 990c printer, click Next, Finish, and apply the settings.

(you can always go back and revert to the original printer driver)

How is the printer connected? (USB, Ethernet, WiFi)

What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (she print or scan, error messages)

If you appreciate my efforts, please click on the "Thumbs up" button below.
Please let me know the results. Thank you.

  • HP envy 4500 e: printer problem

Click Print for pictures and he wants Telec.  Uninstalled software and drivers, reboot the printer i.e. power and usb disconnected for twenty minutes before reinstalling.  Always wants to fax my print mode and advises connect me to a fax.  When I remove this screen an E-mail type box appears with the attachment that I want to print.  ????????

    Hello @ginger20 ,

    Welcome to the HP forum.

I understand that when you try to print, you get invited to a fax.

    I would like to help.

When you install a fax printer capable it creates usually two icons.

In your scenario, one would be HP Envy 4500 and other fax HP Envy 4500.

More time in this case the default printer was set to the fax version.

    Go into devices and printers.

Right-click on the fax printer no, and then select set as default.

If you have only an icon, right-click it.

Then hover over to set as default printer.

This should produce a list of printers 'stacked' on this icon.

I hope this helps. If you need more help please let me know.

    Hi kcoh193,

I'm really happy to learn that the printer works fine now. Thanks for letting me know.

It was very probably administrator rights on the computer, since you had to go around adding to full access to the temp folder. When logged on with administrator rights, you shouldn't do this step.

  • HP Envy 4500: Cannot print Photos and large documents on my HP Envy 4500 all-in-one printer

    Hello

I bought my Hp Envy 4500 all in November last one. It worked like a charm for the first 2 months. I tried to print photo 4 x 6 a day. 2 first impressions were good, and the third image has begun to fade from the half. Documents not threatened by more than a few pages. I tried to uninstall/re-install, printing via USB, set static IP address on the print and followed by other solutions on this forum. I was lazy to lift a question myself on this forum. Now, I'm totally frustrated and disappointed by this product, I wanted to just try my luck.

    Help, please!

    Thank you

    Hey @Kvelrajan,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.

I understand your ENVY 4500 HP e-all-in-one printer is not printing documents to the end and there is a print quality problem when you print photos.  I would like to help.

I have some suggestions that can solve these problems.

First, I recommend that you only perform a "hard reset":

    1. press the Power button to turn off the printer.
    2. unplug the power cord at the back of the printer.
    3. wait 60 seconds.
4 reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer.
    5. press the power button to turn on the printer.

Click on the title of the following article:

HP printers - HP wireless built before 2010 printer print a partial Page or fails to print all Pages in Windows 8

    Try Solution two.

If this clarify two questions, great!  If this solves the problem of document but still the problem of print quality with photos, click on the title of the following article:

Printer prints a blank Page or does not print black ink color for the HP ENVY 4500 and Deskjet Ink Advantage 3540 e-all-in-One Printer Series

Work your way through the Solution one and go until you are satisfied with the print quality.  Test photo print - does clarify the issue of the photo?

Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post.  Feel free to click on the "Thumbs Up" icon below, if I solved your problems.

    Have a great day!

  • Re: Resizing of printing problems on my HP Envy 4500 wireless printer

Is there a firmware update for the HP Envy 4500 for Mac OS X 10.6.8 users?  Expansion has worked well until recently. I solved the problem extends last week by turning the printer off, unplug from the wall, wait a few minutes, reconnect, turn on, and then you use tools to reset the printer to its default settings.  That did not work today.  I downloaded again the driver of HP and re-installed, but I can not enlarge copies.  I sw this message stream, but cannot find how to download an update of the firmware, since I'm on a Mac computer. Please notify.

    Hi @garden-2009.

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I noticed that you have problems with the resizing of the copies with your HP Envy 4500 printer. I'm happy to help with this problem!

To download the latest firmware, please consult this guide, get printer updates for HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3540, 4640, HP 4500 ENVY and HP Officejet 4630 e-all-in-one printer series.

I would also be sure that the power cable from the printer is plugged directly into the wall outlet, not a surge protector. Questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power. This is true for printers and ink jet.

Let's start with these two steps and see what happens!

    Thank you for posting!

  • HP Envy 4500 series printer all in one

What photo paper setting should I use to print with metallic photo with my HP Envy 4500 printer paper to avoid the smear of ink on the images?

    Hi silverwolf55,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see you are trying to use the metallic photo paper when printing photos.

Just to let you know, metallic photo paper is not supported with the HP printer.  If you want to try to use the metallic photo paper, I suggest affecting the Best quality level so that the printer prints slow page. This will reduce the risk of smears and streaks.

    Thanks for your time.

    See you soon,.
