  My urge to 4500 is offline.  In devices and printers-> HP Envy 4500... -> see what's printing-> printer, there is no other choice for putting it online is proposed in response to someone else.  I reinstalled printer, but it is always offline.

  Thank you for your response.  I solved the problem somehow yesterday.  Someone has suggested that 10 a cumulative window updated.  I tried to do, but he seems to have been made recently.  The update site mentioned restart the computer for the update to take effect.  I rebooted and the problem disappeared. I really don't understand what went wrong or why it fixed itself, but I should have tried to restart the computer in the first place.

• HP Envy 4500 - How will I know if I need to update the firmware?

  I just bought a HP Envy 4500.  The version of the installed firmware is MKM1FN1322BR.   The firmware on the HP site is MKM1FA1322BR.   How will I know if my firmware is older?

  Also, I tried to plug the printer directly via USB to update with the update of the firmware, and it does not work.  I try to use 'Start Again' several times, but nothing changes.   I disabled the wireless and even restarted the printer and it still does not work.  Local printer (USB) has been selected by default.

  I am running Windows 7 64 bit and the file being used is HPCOM_HP_ENVY_4500_series_x64_000_003.exe.

  Version codes sometimes differ depending on how the Unit received its last update, so you don't have to worry about different codes. Updates can be received thought the site manually or via the Web Services menu on the printer itself.

  You have the printer connected to your wireless network? If so, the version you have had likely been obtained of the printer itself.

  Is there a problem you encounter that lead you to this mission of firmware, or are you simply being proactive in any ESC?

Double-sided printing option was available before but it dissappeared from the option, there were 4 options before but only one side and manual double-sided print were left. I can't seem to find where to make this option to return and I have urgent need for printing.   Recently, I tried to use my 4500 want to print photographs, using HP Premium Plus Photo paper. Each attempted printing resulted in the printer telling me that there is a paper jam.   I had some problems printing with my desire to hp 4500. I recently bought this for use with my laptop, which runs windows 8.1. I tried to print wireless with mixed success. I can't print anything product of microsoft office, firefox, etc. I can't print a PDF file or the other - with a catch. If I print the document first with adobe printer, save the document, and then print with the printer of the desire, it will work (for a few pages at least). This happens even if the original document is a pdf file. When I try to print from word, for example, I get a message saying that "your file could not be printed due to an error on HP ENVY 4500 series (network) on. There are several possible reasons...  The scanner works fine with the software provided. Through software troubleshooting, I can print a test page for the hp software, but not the windows printing software (makes me think that this may be a sort of permissions problem that I can't understand). I'm a bit confused.   Hello. Thanks again for your help. I found how to solve my problem. I know now that it had nothing to do with the printer or its software. Something was wrong with my registry or files of certain parameters that I couldn't identify myself, that I tried to plug the two this printer in my lapotop via a usb port and installation (with the same problem). The same problem happened when I connected usb printer older that I know works (hp 3050 has-for printing at least) and still had the problem. I just did a windows update and had to reinstall everything. Now, I can print and scan wireless without problem. I would like to have a more simple solution. Maybe the idea of my friend to install a registry cleaner from the beginning was a bad idea. You live and learn, I guess.

  Thanks for shouting it and fast response.    No problem on other issues, it is we are here for.

  1. You will need to manually launch the built-in Web server.  What I've done in the past, it's just mark the ip address of the printer is to click instead of having to manually enter the IP every time. It works best if you set a manual ip address of the printer.  I've included a screenshot.
     1. Click on the "Network" tab in the SAP
     2. Click on 'Network' in the left side menu
     3. Click on 'network address (IP)' in the left side menu
     4. Click 'propose a manual IP address.
     5. Click on "Manual DNS server"
     6. For the server DNS preferred manual please enter 8.8.8.8
     7. For the auxiliary DNS Server Manual please enter 8.8.4.4
        
        
  2. There is no way to web analytics by default in pdf format.
  3. The default value corresponds to your "Downloads" folder, but you can switch to "Google Drive".
  4. If you click on the built-in web server Web Services tab, there is an option in the side menu on the left for updates. I've included a screenshot of where to find him.

  Hi, I have a new HP Envy 4500, and it does not connect to my wireless network. He sees the correct SSID (using WPA - PSK / TKIP or AES), but he will not join the network after providing the WPA key. Printing test results shows a FAILURE on > parameters - without filtering.   I tried to reconnect to my neighbors A1 connection - success.

  I tried with USB lead-success

  I tried direct to print without wire-success

  I tried to share wireless USB by using HP software-failure

  I tried the HP PC don't doctor too - no available solutions.

  I have read and tried several fixes on the HP forum-no success

  The fault is clearly my printer connect to my cable modem wireless (or my printer connect to my wi - fi of Cablelink) like all other connection works!

  I posted at the end of a similar position, but did not respond. Help please.

  I finally solved this problem after 2 weeks of trying everything! Based on the above comment from BH, I thought that I had to turn off my radio show from 5 Hz. My new router has prevented to me because of the way Cablelink run their software. However, I finally got access to change it. I disabled 5 Hz. I still have the invalid password! Then, I changed the predefined WPA WPA2. It worked. I turned on my 5 Hz back show, the printer is remained connected. I then changed back to WPA2 and immediately lost connection! I put it to WPA and it connected again! I did NOT change key wireless, he remained at 16 characters, just the level of security! It seems if I want my Envy NEW 4500 with UPDATE drivers on my wireless network, I have to REDUCE my password security, which comes by default with modems cable new with Cisco, and accept the WPA! The strange thing is my old Iphone 4 and my old Apple TV both connected without problem. Therefore more recent Iphone to my wife 5 c and our newest Samsung UHD TV. So why a NEW model of printer is sold in stores right now, not able to work on WPA2? I lost 2 weeks on this issue before the sort it! It works, but I'm not happy! Same HP UK failed to connect after 4 hours on their online chat and remote assistance online! I worked it out myself from the comment by BH! Thanks BH. HP POST PLEASE A REPLY ON THIS THREAD WHEN YOU FINALLY WRITE A SOFTWARE FOR YOUR PRINTER TO WORK ON WPA2. MAYBE YOU CAN EMAIL CISCO IN ORDER TO WORK OUT HOW TO DO THIS BETWEEN YOU.

  Select manage the Scan of the computer
  Click Enable-
  
  You can start automatically with Windows, BUT you will get an arror message if you turn on the computer FRONT of the printer.

  How is the printer connected, wireless or USB?

  To confirm that the hardware of the printer is functional, you are able to make a copy with the glass of the scanner of the printer? Copy of Documents.

  What happens if you try to scan from Apple Image Capture?

  1. Place the document or photo face down on the scanner glass, and then close the scanner cover.

     If your printer has an ADF (ADF), you can use it to scan multi-page documents at the same time. No pictures load in the ADF to not damage the photos and the printer.

  2. Open Finder , click OK in the menu bar, click Applications, and then double-click the Image Capture.

  3. Click on the name of your printer in the devices or shared list.

     NOTE:

     If that device software is not installed message appears when you select your printer, click on install, and then follow the instructions to complete the installation.

  4. Click on show details at the bottom of the screen.

     An overview of scanning opens, then change the following settings:

     • Scan Mode: select the scan bed or the automatic document feeder, depending on where you have loaded the original on the printer.

     • Type: scan as color, black and white, or optimized for text documents only.

     • Resolution: higher resolution produces better image quality using as many dots (pixels) per inch. A higher resolution increases the size of the analysis file. Use a higher resolution for scans with graphics or items that need to be the best details. If you scan a black and white text, higher resolution is not necessary.

     • Size: use a standard paper size, or select the use custom size option.

     • Scanning to: select the folder you want to save in analyses.

     • Name: type a name for the saved analysis file.

     • Format: select the type of file for analysis.

       NOTE:

       Select PDF or TIFF format, and then select the check box next to combine in a single document to save documents to multiple pages or multiple images in a single file. This feature is only available with these formats.

     • Image correction: click on the pop-up menu, and then select manual to display the color change options such as brightness and saturation.

  5. Click on scan.

     The scan records in the selected folder of the scanning to .
