Error 0x800700AA (VISTA BACKUP FILES) _

Whenever I try to backup my files of paper on a DVD, I get the following information:
"Required source in use - Ref. 0x800700AA.
How can I backup my data? Someone can help me. Thank you.

Hello Liblue ·         Have you tried to backup to another source? ·         Have you tried another DVD? First of all, make sure that the backup you are trying to create does not exceed the capacity of the DVD. Try using a different DVD and check if you have the same problem. It would be the best way to create a backup on an external hard drive. Here is an article on the restore procedure:http://www.vista4beginners.com/How-to-restore-files to make sure you do this right.  It's a selective restore of a full or selective backup (not a full restore from a full backup) - but since you did a full backup, it matches your process more closely than would a full restore.

This is a GREAT article on the backup and restore processes in Vista http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2007.09.backup.aspx , but he won't go into detail about the restoration process - considering almost as easy, of course.  But it teaches you a lot about what is possible and how to do it.  It also focuses primarily on the full backup process, but he did mention the full backup and restore process as well.

Here is an article on the advanced use of restoration (during normal restore does not work):http://www.mayankraichura.com/post/2009/08/06/Avdvanced-Restore-via-Windows-Vista-Backup-and-Restore-Center.aspx.

4 choose "files from a backup made on a different computer.

    5. in the dialog box indicating "Select the location of the backup to restore", select "hard drive, CD or DVD...". »

    6. under the drop-down list box, select your drive/partition and continue

    7. If all the backups on your drive, it will show a list of them.

    8. in my case, he showed a backup, but in the backup location, it will show "backup location is not available."

    9. I was frustrated, but then I somehow just select this backup (Yes... even if he said that thebackup location is not available " ")

    10. and you press "next".

    11 guess what... no error!

    12. a window appeared asking me if I wanted to do a full restore, or I want to select specific folders or files.

    13. I selected the folders I wanted to restore and bingo... it their restored smoothly.

    14. so that the next time see a mistake, try to continue with him... ;)

I don't know if this will help, but it does not provide much information about the process (when it works).  I hope you find any error or discrepancy in your procedure and it will clear up and allow you to restore.

  • Vista backup file is not visible

Using the backup feature in Vista, I managed (under Vista) saved 200 + GB of my PC hard disk laptop.  I know that it worked because:

1 - unused space on the hard drive laptop declined significantly

2 - I was able to restore files from the portable hard drive

HOWEVER, according to the help Windows, a file "Backup set Date" was created, but I can't - it is not visible.  How can I make it visible?

    Thank you

    Hello

Check if the file is hidden:Show hidden files

Backups are saved in this format: ------\Backup Set

When you perform a full backup, a backup folder is created and labeled with the date of this day. When you add updates, this date remains the same, but your backup is not expired. The next time you perform a backup completes, a new backup folder is created and labeled with the date of this day, and updates are then added to that new folder. Do not remove the current backup folder.

  • Errors in Vista .wps file extension

I have some old files I still sometimes use that have the file extension *.wps.

I had an XP PC that would open up the files formatted in MS Works.  I just bought a new laptop Vista and when I try to open the same files, it says either they are in use or corrupt.  If I have the CD go back to my old XP PC, files opened well upward.

Does anyone have a solution for this, I need the files in the format that they were saved, open in Wordpad in Vista create a havoc-PLEASE HELP!

    Hello Fahey, welcome.

If you are running Microsoft Office 2003 Vista, this addon provided by Microsoft will allow you to open WPS files created in Works v6-9. If you run Office 2007, this addon may not work, but its worth by train.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=BF41401E-70FA-465D-AE2E-CF44DBF05297&displaylang=en

Download and install. Furthermore, if this does not work, you can try this:

    1. create a backup of the file WPS (basically copy and paste it in another folder)
    2. go to: http://www.zamzar.com/
    3. follow the instructions to convert the file online

Let us know if it works,

  • Error - backup file is not found or is not the file you requested.

Original title: restoration of Windows XP utility gives "file not found error.

    Hello
I have Windows XP SP3 on my system. I tried to restore my backup file I had created a few months back. and I get the following error:
"Backup file is not found or is not the file you requested.
even though I am pointing to the correct file.

It is possible (although I'm not sure) can I have left my backup file a different location for a more current. However, in the Restore Wizard, I'm still that it points to the current file.

I followed the instructions of Dena in the following post:
    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_xp-system/cannot-restore-files-from-computer-backup-on/4c3ac6eb-c8f5-4DB9-BA56-e158e057f828

However, it does not help. When I try to catalog them by following the steps, an hourglass appears, but there is no algorithmic activity event. So if I move my mouse even slightly, the hourglass disappears and is replaced by the pointer. Then when I try to work with the backup file, I get the same error as above.

Please help me with this restoration! There is a huge amount of data which suddenly went 'pfoosh' one morning. people say we should have backups for buffering against these events, but a pity that my backup doesn't even work! Help, please! I would really appreciate it.

    Thank you

Windows Vista backup files are in. Disc format hard virtual which is only supported in Vista. You would have to restore them on a computer that is running Windows Vista and then copy the contents of the Windows XP computer.

Vista Ultimate - trying to COMPLETE the backup of a computer

    Hi people,

I had a similar problem with Vista (64-bit edition complete edition) machine. I run automatic backups for more than a year. Suddenly, backups started fail with the following error code:

"The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable 0 x 80070570.

I thought it would be my external drive - so I tried an another one - same error. After a search of different topics around, I tried various fixes (similar to above), but none of them worked.

I managed to find the problem though. The issue is not with the drive being written - it's the current backup disc that is the problem. If you want to save your primary drive (C:, for example), try to perform a check of the errors on this drive (right click on your drive home, you are trying to save, choose 'Properties' then go to 'tools' - click 'Check now' under the control of errors - and check both boxes). Since this is the current drive, you must stop and restart - the system then automatically checks the system files and windows files on the next boot.

After doing this, my problem cleared up. Apparently, the backup software was crashing trying to read a corrupted file or a sector of the hard disk, that he was backing.

  • Vista backup does not - restore error 0x8100001A

My hard drive has been replaced, and I've tried using restore files via Vista backup and restore (Home Premium).  I followed the Advanced Restore from another PC, can see the backups, there are several dates of backup choice, but I get 0x8100001A error when restoring.

The last backup was interrupted when the drive crashed.  I'm trying to restore the one before this one.  The backup drive letter has not changed.
I have a new HARD drive, installed vista, caught all the Windows updates, installed all the programs and I'm trying to recover the backed up files.  None of the online help suggestions have worked.  Looks like the next suggestion is to recreate a corrupt Mediaid.bin file, which could have damaged when the last backup was interrupted.  How do I do that?  It is possible to rebuild is based on a previous backup?

    Hi louithibo,

You are unable to make the back because you've done your backup file in drive D: that is your recovery Partition. You are NOT supposed to do.
Recovery partiton has a very small disk space, no time to fill up the partition.
    Read this...

Your recovery partition D is implemented by the manufacturer of your computer in the event of serious problems in your system.
You use it to restore your system.

You're NOT supposed to touch it... not to add or remove anything from or to it.

Have you been using the D drive for scheduled backups of file?
If this is the case, you call the manufacturer of the computer, tell them the situation...

    1. ask for a set of recovery DVD to reinstall Vista, if you do not have a game made yourself.
    2. ask how to remove backup files or elements that are NOT supposed to be there.
They created the recovery partition, they know how to take care of it.
Let them teach how you to.

D: is the recovery Partition to your computer at the factory standards,

Contact * Dell * purchase DVD recovery and fixation of your recovery Partition.
They know exactly which files have to be there and those who you

In the future, buy an external hard drive and back up to that.

  • Restore backup files after the new installation of Vista

I recently had to replace my main hard drive as it has completely crashed and burned.  Fortunately, I thought, I had been diligently backing up to an external hard drive.   So after replaced by a fresh hard drive and a new installation of Vista, I thought I could just restore these files from backup... but no luck.  New Vista does not recognize the old Vista backup.  And it will allow me to migrate these files in any usable fashion.  Is it possible for me to get the new Vista installation to access these backups from the previous installation of Vista?

    Hi Allisonerik,

    (1) what happens when you try to restore?

    (2) you get an error message?

    (3) was it a file, or a backup system image?

I want to clarify if your backup media (external hard drive) is recognizing in Windows.
