  Please uninstall the biometric device driver in Device Manager. Download Driver validity here fingerprint sensor: sp74365.exeand install it.

  Also uninstall the HP SimplePass of programs and feature. Download HP SimplePass Identity Protection software here: sp71729.exeand install it.

  Reboot the laptop. And let me know if it works for now.

• HP SimplePass - error "sensor not connected.

  I have used successfully to my software and sensor SimplePass fingerprint for a year, but he has now suddenly stopped working. A friend of my son was using my laptop and may have changed some settings in the error. Now, when I go to the control panel and select biometric devices, he bed 'Windows don't think biometric devices on this computer. You will need to attach your device or install device drivers. I lookd in other forums and that you have downloaded the new drivers Validity Sensor and SimplePass software update, but it disappeared again. Aside from never lend my cell phone once again, any suggestions would be appreciated!

  I see that you have a simple problem with pass. Looks like something was wrong with the drivers or the installation itself.

  I suggest you get the simple pass and the fingerprint driver.

  Follow this document which will guide you on how to open the Recovery Manager.

  Like this:

  

  You want to recovery of the fingerprint driver, which should be called "Validity Sensor" and the program called 'Single Pass'.

  To retrieve the 'single Pass', you can select "reinstalling software." Then to retrieve the fingerprint driver, you need to select 'Hardware driver reinstallation.

  Retrieve the two programs.

  I posted this problem from someone else who had the same problem 6 days ago and there still must be a response from HP.  The OP has posted his problem a few days previously.  Someone took my message about the same problem as the solution to the problem when it was not. Someone else offered a solution to the problem to uninstall specific updates.  This solution does not work.

  When you try to install the update for Simplepass, I get the following error

  Dialog box AppHelp cancelled preventing the application start error - C:\swsetup\sp71729\x64\HP SimplePass.msi

  Ladies and gentlemen, a solution has been found - kinda sorta maybe.

  I went to chat with Joyce.  She was asked to take the remote access to my computer.  I hesitated because I heard of many horror stories of "technicians" to take control of a computer remotely, but I agree.

  It redownloaded the file and installed.  However, when the error message came, she did not click on the ok button.  Instead, the box has closed.  She waited about 30 seconds and viloa, the file has been successfully installed.

  Now I don't know if the box instead of clicking on the ok button of closing had something to do with fixing the problem, in fact I seriously doubt.  I suspect that an update or another, either Microsoft or HP had more to do with the real difficulty instead of how the error message has been closed.  As they say, timing is everything.

  However, after you restart the computer, I noticed that in my Start menu, all text was almost invisable when I would click the all Apps.  As time passes, it becomes a light gray, then darker and finally white.  It comes and goes, not always white, but not always completely invisable.  Yet once again, I suspect this has more to do with updates that whatever she did.

  BUT here's the part maybe kinda sorta.  When I brought this text matter to her attention, she was asked to take the remote again I delivered.  Without asking permission, immediately, she went in my Startup tab in the Manager of tasks and begun disabling and activation of the things that I know for an absolute FACT had nothing to do with why the start menu text changed color.  Then went to msconfig through the run menu and changed a few things in the service menu.  Then it restarted the computer, WITHOUT ANY CARE FOR me!  Now, when the computer has been rebooted first of all, I returned to firefox back to chat with her.  HP cat re-opened immediately in its own window, leaving the opening screen of firefox with the button restore session in a separate window.  When it restarted the computer, I never had the chance to restore my session and I actually lost all tabs through three windows of firefox.  I literally lost 5-6 hours work College that I had done previous.  Lost as in never went.  I tried to rename the previous.js file, but it was too late.  All of the tabs, all work has disappeared.

  Morale of the store, if you let someone else take control of your computer, make sure that all THE necessary work is recorded first.  I lost hours of work I can never go back and will have to start over again.  Something like that should NEVER HAPPEN.

  Hope that the solution works for those of you are having problems, and I hope that most problems are not created.  I know this well, it will be the last time that someone remote access my computer.  They can text me what to do in the future!

  HP Pavilion 17-105sa laptop-64-Win 8.1, I received 2 error messages:

  (1) OPInst64 failed to load autheng.dll and

  (2) HPSmplPass.exe - system error

  The program cannot start because storeng dll is missing on your computer...

  The two they relate to SimplePass which I don't use because my laptop doesn't have a fingerprint reader.

  It is safe and even desirable, to Uninstall Packard\-Hewlett-Packard-C:\ProgramSimplePass

  To answer your question, use SimplePass fingerprint on some laptops the reader, but it also stores a number of passwords, you can then use online.

  In order to circumvent your system .dll error message, the simplest method is to remove and reinstall the program from programs and features. If you want, you can reinstall the program for the storage of the password, or you can leave it uninstalled on your system. If you want to use SimplePass on your computer, please download and install the Software HP SimplePass Identity Protection once more.

• fingerprint reader error

  I have a laptop HP ENVY dv6 - 7247cl. Warranty is over. Problems with the Pass Simple fingerprint sensor. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver of Simple and Validity Sensor passage several times without success.  I had problems with my Norton Security software, which has since been resolved, but in doing so, somehow affected my biometric reader. I am not tech savvy at all costs. Validity sensor says something about an absence or damaged registry that is why I did the uninstall/reinstall. It indicates that the device works properly, but apparently not, since I can't Pass Simple put in place for registration even fingers. He ask me to try again after that I have 'left click' on the finger, I want to register but they keep saying there is an error, but never say what the error or how to fix it. Help, please! I bought this laptop specially for the biometric reader.  -Thanks in advance

  Welcome to the HP Forum.

  I don't trust Norton and its effect on SimplePass; However, these two programs should work at least to the extent that it does not damage the other.

  I suggest that if you always use the same version of SimplePass you have used in the past that it's time to move on to the last series of HP SimplePass version 6.x.

  Please continue to use the same version of the Validity Sensor driver you are currently using.

  Before you make any other changes, try this:

  • Create a Restore Point create a restore - Win7 Point OR create a restore point Win8
  • Close all your programs and shut down your computer
  • Unplug everything (little unifying for the keyboard / mouse external can stay)
  • Perform the Hard Reset for your laptop
  • Start the computer and connect

  If no joy:

  Refer to this Guide:

  Open the file > click Download > click 'open in Adobe Reader.

  If you get to the point where you think that need to 'Refresh' the system, remember that the discount has consequences.  READ and understand before . that launch you.  Have your completed backups.  Be ready to restore your programs, licenses and key staff. Why?  Because Refresh removes programs from your computer.

  Make additional copies of your personal data.  File history is large.  So is an extra USB key with your photos and your favorite "stuff".  Nothing like having an extra little insurance when your computer is a weight of temporary paper during the reconstruction.

• HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC: hp simplepass 2012, do not configure Windows 10

  I recently installed the Windows 10 operating system, as many have, and I'm having a problem with SimplePass 2012.

  The reader will not be 'new' prints to access my account.  (I made a new admin ACCT, after having the issue "Critical Error" with the W10 start menu.)

  I tried reinstalling the SP 2012 program to fix any problem of corruption, and the stalls of the reinstall at the stage of "Please wait while Windows configures HP SP 2012."

  Any thoughts?

  The oldest program of series 6 HP SimplePass not was not written to run on Windows 10 although I heard that it will offer service on the new operating system Windows 10 indeed.

  I hope you have at some point in the past remembered to export your Webcards. If it is necessary to remove and then install the SimplePass program, you will need this backup on importation of your Web sites / passwords again in the SimplePass database.

  I can offer the following:

  General considerations:

  • Windows updates must be installed and up-to-date before installing HP SimplePass and / or repair operations
  • You can create a Restore Point in order to protect your 'place in the sand '.
  • If you have not previously exported your Webcards: you may lose your Webcards (Web site passwords). Assuming you get the program to work, but still manage to lose the existing database, this means that you will have to perhaps start and reset (back) all of your websites and passwords. Proceed at your own risk.
  • There are two sets of HP SimplePass:
  • AuthenTec series 6 HP SimplePass and Softex series 8 HP SimplePass
  • The two series are not compatible with each other
  • You cannot migrate from series to series (or back)
  • You can "pass" series

  Driver is first!

  The pilot of validity must be (re) installed first, i.e. before the SimplePass program is installed, repaired or otherwise manipulated. It's hardware - fingerprint reader and his driver - be ready when other programs 'come on board'.

  Looking for a Driver for sensor of validity at least for Windows 8.1 - better Windows 10.  If site supports your computer Web page of the driver does not provide a driver, there may be in the document, you can use a compatible driver.

  Next: once you have installed / reinstalled your valid driver and restarted the computer, decide what methods will offer the best chance to get the HP SimplePass working on your computer program.

  NOTE: success may require more of an essay or a combination of methods. the program is old and different environments.

  • Repair your program's existing HP SimplePass (database) in programs and features
  • Download the latest version of the 6 series HP SimplePass and overload manually (installation) program on top of your database (program)
  • Remove the program HP SimplePass existing in the system > Reboot > download and install the last programme of the series 6 HP SimplePass > if available, import your file, .tsd (Webcard backup)

  Finally:

  • Switch to series 8 HP SimplePass for Windows 10. Note that you must reset it, i.e. to create all your passwords site Web from scratch. You cannot 'import' your 6 HP SimplePass in series 8 HP SimplePass series password database. Don't forget: the two series are different programs.

• Pavilion 14 - G6S68UA #ABA: of HP SimplePass - 10 Windows installation failure

  SP71729 update installation fails.  I've not got a fingerprint reader, so don't think that it is a problem of device driver.  SimplePass seems to work - at least he asks me to save (or not) passwords.

  I tried the update via the public service center and was able to get a better error message:

  Error trying to save the file: error download "'http://update.softexinc.com/HPSimplePass/x64/wyserver.wys ': unable to connect to remote server"

  I understand that after upgrade to Windows 10 when you tried to install an update for the HP Simplepass it not move not.  You do not have a fingerprint reader and HP Simplepass works for you.

  The details for the SP71729 it belongs to the fingerprint reader, which is probably why it has no installation.

  If everything works well, then as the old adage 'if it isn't broken don't fix.'

  in fact he used to work before I reset my windows after my window 10 error black screen took away all my files close to 2 months before... after that every thing has changed... I have also updated the software, but after update every time it starts to get option started

  (2) the support of cd player is not out by pressing the key at the same time... I can feel the vibration, but it does not come out

  (3) I bought for games like pes 16 wwe2k16... they used to run smoothly, but now they are starting to run very slowly after 3 or 4 minutes of play...

• Envy of HP dv7: simplepass

  My computer came with windows 8, and then I went to 8.1 and simplepass worked wonderfully, in both versions.  Stupidly, I have "upgraded" to windows 10 end of last year and has lost most of the functionality of reader (it didn't work anymore online, it worked as for computer, log).  Fast forward until a few days and 10 windows bricked my computer and I mean it bricked, it would not past the logo screen of HP with the circle of rotation without end points.  Each recovery or reset option ended in error and any attempt to recover with a 10 windows installer, that I downloaded from the HP website, failed.  After a lot of messing around, I was able to recover my computer by downloading the installer windows 8.1 (curiously she also not USB recovery but worked by burning a DVD recovery disc, another computer).   Once I got up and running simplepass is one of the first things I tried to make it work and it just keeps giving me the error message I seem to have trouble, you want to try again?  Sometimes when I click on the little finger to set up it will show the next step ask you to swipe your finger, but he just stands up for a split second and then gives me the error again.  I've updated to the latest drivers from the HP website: validity (4.4.234.0) and I tried both versions of simplepass (6.0.100.272 and 6.0.100.244).  Any help would be appreciated I would like to have it working again.

  Edit to add: I thought maybe update the bios would help and found there was an update.  I ran the update with the help of the installation and he told me it was successful before asking me to restart.  However; to restart the computer he always showed my older version of bios.  What I am doing wrong?

  OK, I have simple pass now works in fire Fox.  The guys over at http://www.softexinc.com/ are great.  Are those currently simple handling move for HP.   I went there and submitted a ticket and received all the answers very quickly (probably the fastest I've ever received).  So, flashram bottom line, is that I had to use one of your links to download version 8 of the simple pass and once loaded, I had to perform and updated by simple passage for their latest version (8.01.46).  Once this has been done was to pass simple back to FF addons section, but it has been disabled, with no option to activate.  The representative said there is a solution to this, so that it will work with FF and has been submitted to HP, but there is no release date yet.  The current problem with FF, is that it now requires a signature and that is the solution.  What it was however give me a step by step very easy job to get things working again.  I am currently using version FF 45, BTW.  I won't give this work around as one of the steps you held to thank who has a pop up saying that he could potentially void your warranty, so I'll let anyone who wants that the difficulty to communicate with them directly.  Again, they are perfect treat and are very fast with the answers.  To bring the process make sure you are running pass simple version 8.01.46 and just ask for the work of fire around Fox for fire fox 44 versions and above.  I think it's less complicated for IE and Chrome, but I do not either.

  Now I just need to understand the BIOS, problem.

  Ok. You must use the Add on Keepsafe by Authentec. The best place to get assistance so that the module is the forum AuthenTec.  The add-on Keepsafe is an application that is supported by AuthenTec.

• ENVY of HP TouchSmart laptop 17: last version of SimplePass records is not some Web sites

  I'm troubleshooting an issue I have with the latest version of HP SimplePass (v. 8.01.27) 8.1 of Windows and Internet Explorer.

  For some websites after you have signed in, I don't get the prompt to save the password.   Is this normal behavior for the application of SimplePass?

  Can anyone confirm whether or not SimplePass is suppose to work on all the Web sites that require a login username and password?

  It's frustrating, isn't it?  One might think that there is a definitive answer to a simple inquiry.

  There may be such a response; I doubt that you will find it here.

  In particular, the 8 HP SimplePass serial code could be a simplified version of a program written by Softex (Omni) that is provided to the markets of the company.   This is a personal observation based on nothing more than a guess.

  Assuming for the moment that it is indeed the case, the full blown, Enterprise program (for which companies pay a lot of money) can indeed operate differently.  The algorithm used to detect Web site connections can be written differently and may be more sensitive to the many different methods that use some Web designers to integrate the username and passwords in a Web page.  It can even possible, given a fuller, more intellgent program, we could use an identification code of the user and the user name.

  More simply put: I guess HP SimplePass program version is "only so smart" and that the code used to read the opening of website code is not smart enough to read a limited number of methods of login Web page.  If the site departs outside these methods or if there are errors in the Web page, and then poof!  HP SimplePass fails to read the Web login page.

  Yet once, these statements are entirely based on conjecture and assumptions.

  You run series 8 HP SimplePass.

  AuthenTec program series 6 HP SimplePass former, either put to date, may be a little more robust that the newest program of round 8.  Although the series 6 is indeed 'old' code, it was written by an entirely different set of programmers - by another company - and it can react differently to the same websites.  6 HP SimplePass series works with Firefox and Internet Explorer.

  You can "Switch" series; You cannot "downgrade".  The programs are "hostile" to another.  You must remove the 8 series before installing the 6 series.

  It there is no guarantee, no matter.  Many computers, laptops or desktop computers, can run 8 series or series 6.  If yours is one of them, is something you can decide to try.  Joys and constraints to be your own boss and everything.

  If you are interested:

  Open the file > click Download > click 'open in Adobe Reader.
