Message "Insert disc" DVR/RW

My DVD RW drive use to work properly. I could burn CDs and I could look at the data on previously burnt discs. I was also able to read music CDs. Have not already watched the DVD on it. Now, nothing works. I get the following message-

"Insert a disc.
Please insert a disk into drive E ".

The DVD/RW drive appears in my "My Computer" and is clickable. Once I have add the drive, the green bar state charges, but nothing happens. I can hear the disc spinning inside but no results. I tried a writable disc and one and regular music CD and disks I have photos stored on. Nothing has worked.

I ran the microsoft fix for the two questions and he has not read or the other disk. I don't know what the problem is. I made a few other fixes and it says the drive exists and happens as update, but still does not. Device Manager says it's working properly. I tried to update the drivers, and it does not solve the problem. I tried a system restore, it did not work. I tried to uninstall the software, and let Vista rediscover after restarting and it did not work as there does not seem to be uninstalled when I told him to do it on the Device Manager. I also went the registry keys to check filters down and that no longer works. I am at a loss!

Well, I'm not sure about your suggestion of the bios battery. Usually, you will see an error massage low battery BIOS or CMOS battery low.
Well, but if the battery is low, so all settings are disabled and the BIOS can't save the changes.

Pavilion DV6 will not play DVD, tells me to insert disc

When I got my DV6 I could play DVDs. Last week, I burned a few DVDs. Today, I'm playing another DVD, but when I inserted the disc, files, I burned the last time appeared in Explorer instead of the movie. I deleted these files. Now, when I put the DVD in the drive I can hear it turn. But when I click on my DVD drive in Explorer, the DVD tray opens automatically and the message "Insert disc". If it still does not work, click on the Menu start, open the all programs, open accessories, right-click on command prompt and select "run as Administrator". In at the prompt, type the following command and press ENTER.

sfc/scannow (Note that there is a space between sfc and /)

Let the entire process, then the output type and press ENTER.

Then, click on the Start Menu, open Control Panel and click Device Manager. Click to open the CD/DVD-ROM drives. Right-click on the drive and choose uninstall. Do not delete if requested drivers. When the device has been uninstalled click the icon 'Search for hardware changes' (usually just below help in the toolbar). Let windows reinstall the disc and see if it works now.

Exactly what you do when you get the message "Please insert a disk in drive A;

Your cables might be backward. Some cables I've seen can be connected backwards, but normally there is a lack of female pin and/or a physical bar that stops you place the cable correctly. In case of doubt, all cables (that I saw) have an edge that is color which is the limit where pin 1 is. Your motherboard and the floppy drive (s) should also indicate what is pin 1 (sometimes with the number 1) or sometimes by an arrowhead. In addition, the end of the cable with the twist must be connected on the floppy drive.

As you have obviously been disconnecting and reconnecting the cable, you should check for twisted on the Board and the drive pins.

The device does not show in disk management, but should appear in the Device Manager.

Have you tried a new pre-formatted floppy?

I do not recommend people to use diskettes these days. The reasons include
- reliability
- capacity
- convenience
Also, although I did not buy the disks for centuries, I wouldn't be surprised to see that memory sticks are cheaper than a box of diskettes and hold much more data.

I would say get a memory stick and use it instead of floppy disks.

I get the error message "Please insert a disc in the drive I" when I try to attach a drive external hard (in a case of hard disk) via a USB 2.0 to my Dell Dimension 8400 computer. I am running Windows XP Prorfessional.

When I attach an external hard drive that comes with its own enclosure as a Western Digital MyBook via the same cable USB 2.0 the following happens. Windows Explorer shows the new disks I and J. If I try to open the drive I have, I get the "Please insert a disc into drive I"message.» However, when I try to open the drive J I'm able to do it and see the files, in this case, the Western Digital MyBook. I can also open these files.

I searched the Internet for solutions to this problem. In some cases, the problem can be solved by renaming the drive letter, but this does not work in my case. Most of the sites I visited fail to provide a solution. Very many missions I've read on various sites, the problem seems to be related to error messages has Microsoft Windows. So I wait a minute until I see it have detected a blank cd (on the left it shows blank disc then try again, but I can't burn data or audio discs.) I installed Virtual PC 2007 on the Vista operating system, and then when he was invited by Virtual PC, I inserted my XP Home UPGRADE disk. An error message says it's a disc invalid or not a valid Microsoft disks. All solutions?

I downloaded Virtual PC and it my new system in place, but when I went to install XP using my disk upgrade Xp Home edition, an error message indicates that the disk was not valid.

You cannot use a disk/license update of XP in a Virtual Machine.

You need a Full Disk/license XP that isn't a Licence(pre-installed by the Computer Manufacturer) OEM from another computer.
