eSATA disk backup for Qosimo F60

Someone at - it recommendations for a backup drive external eSATA please. I have a Qosimo F60 with port eSATA/USB 2.0 combo

Thank you

If your laptop computer has an eSATA port, you can connect external 2.5 SSD or HARD disk drive to this port using a common external caddy which was equipped with such eSATA interface.

This 2.5 eSATA caddy is especially fitted with USB port extra too.

Serious SIN is the way to go, with eSATA, you will encounter problems not be do not recognize. even if it is recognized, you will need to format as VMFS before you create a VMDK virtual machine. you need to repeat these steps each time you plug in. so NAS is hassle free approach.

  • my mac is the display of the comment... No backups for 13 days.  Connect to a power outlet while your backup disk is available.

My Mac is the display of the comment... No backups for 13 days.  Connect to a power outlet while your backup disk is available.  For my time Machine control, everything seems to be saved.

Time Machine also creates temporary copies on your internal drive when the backup drive is not available. So you can see the 'temporary' backups on your internal drive.

I recommend that you connect your external drive and your power adapter and let make a permanent copy - ones on your internal drive are subject to deletion if space is short.

By now he may need to do a 'deep traversal' which can take some time.

    Hi all

I have an environment that have a large disks (> 2 to) Guest VM with a requirement to perform the backup.

Hi, James, you should switch to vSphere 5.5 first, because it introduced management of disks in virtual machine (vmdk) more than 2 TB. Once upgraded, you will be able to use the latest version of Veeam Backup and replication (v7 R2) which fully supports vSphere 5.5.

  • How to make a backup recovery disk (usb) for my new XPS8700?

    Hello

Please bear with me as I'm pretty much computer illiterate.

I just bought a Dell XPS8700 with Win8.1 for my partner for Christmas.  It came with 2 TB HD cache & 32 GB of SSD.  Round 6 months. from now on I intend to buy a 120 GB SSD for upgrading its system & will use for the operating system.   I do not know how to do this (I have an idea... looked. vids online, etc.), but what I need to know is > how to make a backup for its new computer recovery disk (so that I can put it aside for when I get the new SSD).  I don't even know if that's actually what you still call it (recovert disc?) or if it is called "backup of factory drive?

Basically, I want to put Win8.1 on a USB key so I can use this more later to reinstall it on an SSD.

I bought a Lexar 32 GB USB (3.0) to use for this.

Can someone "please" give me a step by step on how to go about doing this?

    Thank you!

    Hello

New laptops are available without disk recovery, but with the option of HARD drive recovery. How to install the OS by using HARD drive recovery option, you can find on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

After completion of the own BONES, please create recovery discs using the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator. These disks can be used if the HARD drive recovery option does not work for some reason any.

You can use the built-in Windows backup to create the image of your system:

  • Win 7: incrementing error backup and restore previous "Windows backup has not been implemented" and that "Windows cannot find a backup for this computer".

    * - Title original - Win 7: incrementing previous backup and restore

Last week, I did a "backup and recovery" on my Win 7 64 bit computer, create a folder WindowsImageBackup 118 GB on an external HARD drive.

I like incremental backup the same material on a base weekly, I tried to do the first incremental backup this morning.
However, my "Backup and Restore" menu control configuration\systeme and securite\ tells me that "Windows backup was not put in place" and that "Windows cannot find a backup for this computer", even if the external HARD disk is attached and recognized.
How can I set B R & to realize progressively the same backup that I did last week?  I don't want the schedule to run regularly, but will do it manually.

  • How to remove older backups for non-existent db_id

I'll put up of backups rman for our databases of test & dev. These are cloned manually using commands in the o/s. As all of these databases are clones of prod, they have the same db_id. So I've discovered that I need to use the utility 'nest' change the db_id to save in the rman catalog. However, if I create a new clone of prod and give it a new db_id, older backups for the previous db_id (i.e. the previous clone that this replaced) are still in the recovery catalog.

I see this info in the recovery catalog views, i.e.

    -----
    Select * from rc_database
    DB_KEY DBID NAME RESETLOGS_CHANGE DBINC_KEY # RESETLOGS_TIME
    1 701 3620254146 HOUTEST 3309633197328 21/04/2009 13:14:05
    341 342 3688071086 RMANTEST 1 2008-12-22 11:40:30
    919 920 3699186203 RMANTEST 3209104 27/04/2009 15:19:52
    -----
In this example, db_id 3688071086 no longer exists and I'm unable to realize by using rman commands.

So the problem is, how can we remove these old outdated backups? I tried the recovery window setting to a low value and running "remove obsolete", but the extent of the rman is concerned, it will not erase records for the old db_id and that no longer exists.

For now we are just rman configuration on our test systems, this is why it is not yet in production.
Of course, Miss me something fundamental here, maybe someone could point me in the right direction?

The platform is Sun Solaris 10 with Oracle 10.2.0.3

    Thank you

    See scenario,

    1. you have A DBID 1111 data say.
    2. register cela in the catalog and took the backup.
    3. now you have changed the DBID of 1111 to 2222 for A database.
    4. now you must save new data in the recovery catalog as in the recovery catalog database are identified by the DBID. So now, recovery catalog will take this A database as a new database.
    5. now, when do you the backup list, it will not display the backup for old DBID. Even if you try to connect to the database as old DBID, it will not be possible as long as changing the DBID of a database means logically that old database has been deleted. It's what will examine RMAN. But the information for the old database DBID will remain in the recovery catalog schema. Giving orders of overlap or remove obsolete commands does not remove this backup from old DB of the disk or tape as the old database is not recognized by the RMAN now.
So, you need to delete information on the old database to the catalog of recovery manually from the catalog schema then remove physical backups manually from tape or disk.

    Kind regards
    Navneet

  • Creating a backup for new 6s

I needed a new 6 for personal use when my business is my current 6 s for work only. I backed up my new phone to my phone work on my Mac to save all my information, aps, etc that I have to delete my work phone aps personal, so I need now two different backups, but they are saved on the same device name.  How can I create a backup for my new phone, but all by keeping all the data?

Each device that you are backing up to a computer via iTunes (or iCloud) will have a separate backup. It may be easier to tell apart them if you use a different name for each device in (on phones) settings > general > topic > name.

You can check what backups that you have made to a computer via iTunes by clicking the iTunes Preferences and clicking on "Devices" in the top of the Preferences window. You can see all iCloud backups by (on your phone) going into settings > iCloud > storage > storage management.

  • Reliable backup for Mac?

    Hi all

I wish I had a solution for online backup for my mac, since I don't trust so that site comments more that increasingly are biased, I would rather ask my other consumers based on their experience!

What are the reliable online backup solutions for Mac users out there?

Features, I would love to find:

    -Backup crypted

-Files/backups scanned and protect with antivirus and antimalware systems

-Reliable in the sense that it is 200% of course, proven and protected that they will not share or disclose my data and they have secure servers

-If possible, accessible from a Windows computer in case I need it

I was thinking about everything that I wanted to put backup password protected DMG files (which are encrypted right?) and then upload to Google Drive, since at least Google servers should be online forever almost, but you are limited to 15 GB per account, anyone has any experience with the help of Google?

    Thank you!!

The problem with online backup killer, is it will take perhaps as long as three days for any transfer out or or on your Mac. It is simply not practical.

  • First external USB disk backup from Time Machine and Time Capsule

I have a new USB drive from 4 TB to use for backups Time Machine plugged on my almost full Time Capsule.  The Capsule is connected to my network using Ethernet, so it can be used to back up my MacBook Pro and iMac (via ethernet) (wireless).

I would like to initial backups by directly plugging the USB directly on my iMac and my MacBook Pro.  I currently have the USB plugged into the Capsule of time connected to the ethernet. The initial backup for my iMac took 2 hours to make the 35GBs of 1.6TBs to back up so far.  So potentially 2 + days of initial backup...?

There must be a quicker way.

Box: to recover from my iMac support precedent (after a crash), which stood on a 3 TB USB2 drive plugged to the Capsule, it was estimated to take 36 hours.  I fly over the drive and plugged into the USB port on my iMac and the recovery only took about 8-10 hours, so it does not work for recovery.

I tried to make the backup of the iMac by plugging the USB drive of 4 TB directly on the iMac. I then moved the dUSB Time Capsule drive, but he seemed to start when plugged into the TimeCapsule. If possible, I must have done something wrong in the order.

It is extremely difficult to backup directly to the USB port and then move it to the TC because TM backup differently at local and network drives.

People have figured out ways around it... but you think that it cannot simply... After saving 1.6 TB of data.

    Here see Q18.

    http://pondini.org/TM/FAQ.html

The fact is... It is not a reliable method.

It's a little slow... is the gigabit connection and the wireless is turned off?

    What model is the TC?

Your sidebar... is absolutely true... you can easily go elsewhere... because you can mount the sparsebundle to the computer.

Box: to recover from my iMac support previous (after a crash), which stood on a 3 TB USB2 player connected to the time Capsule, it has been estimated to take 36
