Everyone got to homegroup pasword connect whit my computers?

Original title: homegroup.

I have a small question.

I have two internet connected computers whit son, so I just put in place a home group and 2 computers connected, everything works fine.

So what I want to know is, or someone else can come in my home group and all my information steel, or does it all this password to connect to whit my computers?

Ty joop

1 you should have a form any router providing the actual connection to the internet. All routers for the domestic market (DSL, ADSL) incorporate firewall preventing access to your home network from the internet.

2nd when you have set up a homegroup a user is created on all computers with the same user name, however each residential group has its own unique password and so no not a member of your home group of computer cannot access the files. Only the 1st computer in the Group offers the password, all others need to be told the password to join.

  • Residential Group / Network ID Issuee as I can't get the homegroup to connect to my home network

I am running Win 7 Pro on my laptop and can't get the homegroup to connect to my home network. I have two other computers (wired, one wireless) which are connected and share without problem and can even see (that) the name of my laptop on the network home.

When I run the troubleshooter to homegroup, it is to identify a network problem, but the next step cannot identify a because my laptop connects wireless both at home and on the road. I think that the problem is in my setting of the network ID and the Discovery Mode as when I try to change the setting for network ID for 'Home' instead of 'Business' it resets right back to business. Same thing happens with trying to turn the discovery mode 'On', it is 'Off '.

I appreciate all the help that I have been fighting this issue for awhile now and just have not had time to fix.

    Thank you

    Hello Robert,.

Here are the network discovery. Since they may not appear in the Windows Firewall, the place to download Simple Service Discovery Protocol (SSDP-In) and outside, you try to check these services whether or not they are running.

  • Try to set up a direct parallel connection between two computers in Windows XP Home edition

I tried to set up a direct parallel connection between two computers in Windows XP. I have the right cable (CAT 5 Ethernet connection) and you can set up the connection on my own laptop, but when I go through the installer on another laptop it create new connection-establishment of advanced connection--> when the next window opens asking me to choose between "accept incoming connections" and "connect directly to another computer" (which I need to select) for the second option is grayed out and not can not be selected.

The same thing happens when I try to implement the same connection between my laptop and the desktop we have. All of these computers are running on Windows XP service pack 2. I really need help with this because I'm about to start pulling my hair.

Any help would be very, very, much appreciated.

  • Impossible to establish physical connections to other computers

We have just received a new BEFSR81 router.  The first computer and internet connection installed with no trouble.  Now, I try to connect other PCs but can't seem to get a physical connection.  All computers are on XP and have ethernet cards.  I connect 2 different PCs, using 2 different cables, but don't receive a light led on the port.  The computers also not sohow not a connection.  Any ideas?

    Thank you

Here are some parameters that you can set on your computer when your computer is connected to the router by an Ethernet cable.

Click the Start button > go to RUN > type in "ncpa.cpl" - hit OK > here (network connections) right click on the "" connecting to the Local network' "icon and select properties-here click the jaspal"Set up"button - click on the tab 'Advanced' - in the area of 'Property' to highlight the link speed and duplex/connection network/type or type of media - and in the"Value"box select 10 MB/s half duplex / 10 half mode base T/10 basic and Click OK.

Now, check if you are able to browse Internet on your computers.

  • Win7 computer cannot connect to other computers Win7 network "\\computername is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource ".

I have a Windows 7 (box A) system that cannot connect to files shared on another computer in Windows 7 (box B).

    • On the 'network card' and 'See the network computers and devices', I can see box B of area A.
    • I can ping Box B of area A.
    • I can connect on MEDIA sharing on box B of area A.
    • Area C (another system of Windows 7) I can connect to the B area and am presented with a box of authentication to connect to the shares (i.e., box B works as it should).

But the box has double clicking on box B or using \\computername or \\IP_Address the dialog box run, I get the error:

    ----

\\computername is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

The network is not present or not started.

    ----

I know that the system is available, because the area C can access... But something's not on the box... It cannot connect to zone B or C. Box

I have disabled the firewall on both systems without result.

I reinstalled the network adapter and Client for Microsoft Networks is installed on the box.

Yet somehow box's not connection to other computers on the network.

Any thoughts on what I should check would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance for the help.

OK... so I was able to track down and get it fixed...

I found another symptom (that would be a good way to check and see if you experience the same problem).

In the network and sharing Center, I clicked on "Change advanced sharing settings" in the left column. I found that the radio button under "File and printer sharing" was put on the OFF position.  I started and saved the changes, but when I returned in these settings, it is once again in the off position.

It turned out that the workstation service is set to disabled (which also caused the computer browser service for not being able to boot). I activated the workstation service, started, and set it to automatic.  Then did the same for the computer browser service.

Both of these services running, the "File and printer sharing" it will remain actually on IT, and I am able to connect to other devices on the network in the way I had to.

I can't mark this message as the solution (perhaps because I posted it?) so if someone he will quote as their response to the post office, I'll be able to mark as answer.

  • How to stop the connectivity between two computers that use the same IP address... ?

Today, I managed to connect two computers with the same IP address. But now it is to be feared. for example, a person can access my computers using my IP and MAC address. So now, how can I stop the connectivity between these two computers. should what setting I use to stop.

    Tahnks.

    Hello

1 have. what measures you taken to connect 2 computers with the same IP address?

    2. How are the 2 computers connected?

    3. how exactly you want to stop the connectivity between 2 computers?

I want to tell you that 2 computers on the same network cannot have the same address. Each machine must have a unique address to identify it. A private network, as a home network connected to the internet, can be connected to a router to connect to the network, will have only 1 address, public IP address.

In addition, if we know the IP address of a computer along the user ID and password, we can access the computer/shared files.

If you are referring to the change of the IP address of the two computers, you can follow these steps and check.

    a. network connections open. Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel. In the search box, type 'adapter' and then, under center network and sharing, click view network connections.
    b. right click on the connection you want to change. Click on properties. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    c. click on the network tab. Under this connection uses the following items, click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) or Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6), and then click the properties button. To specify your IP for IPv4, click on use the following IP address, and then, at the address IP, subnet mask, and gateway boxes by default, type IP address settings.

A typical IPv4 address looks like 192.168.0.2; a typical subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. The default gateway is usually the address of your router.
For example, IP address: 192.168.0.2 by 192.168.0.12 (for computers)
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    DNS: 192.168.0.1

I hope this helps. If you have any other queries/issues related to Windows, write us and we will be happy to help you further.

  • I have problems to access the homegroup on one of my computers networked

I can't access the homegroup on one of my computers networked: I can't view/print the password or leave the homegroup.

The homegroup listener service is not running and does not start; It depends on the Server service which does not also.

All the services depends on "Server" are running, while I find not all controls bound to the drivers SMB or srvnet.

The error message when the Server service or the HomeGroup listener is tempted to start is:
Error 1068: The dependency service or group could start.

Thank you very much, Jack MVP.  I downloaded and installed ServiWin as directed by your recommendation.

It showed me that the server SMB 1. XXX driver (srv.sys) was not working.  I then used the 'Google - executable name' search option from right-click menu.

This showed me in turn to the web page of "http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2473205" entitled: "list of currently available patches for technologies in Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2 file Services.

In this page, I found a section entitled SRV component with a link to the article 2625434 knowledge base: "http://support.microsoft.com/hotfix/KBHotfix.aspx?kbnum=2625434&kbln=en-us."

This allowed me to download an a security update that contains the latest version of the srv.sys.  Installation of this repaired my faulty installation of the SMB 1. XXX driver.

This then allowed me to do things like "View the HomeGroup Password" and "Leave the HomeGroup" that I couldn't do before.

I was then able to join the homegroup, and after restarting, become visible to my laptop.

I then told the phone leaving the homegroup and then join and now computers are visible to each other.

All Windows 7 computers on my home network are now visible to the other in the homegroup.

  • New AppleID cannot connect, white screen

The girlfriend herself bought a MBP retina and recorded his own AppleID Finally, but when she tries to use it it is redirect to the site applid.apple.com and you are invited to connect.  I guess its to set his account with a credit card and verify the account that it is authentic.

Problem is when she puts her password in an empty white box appears and then nothing happens, that he is only here for a minute or two before you return to the page, log in.

I tried it with safari on his MBP, Safari and Opera on my MBP and he does on both of them!

    Any ideas what is happening?

A credit card is not required just to set up an Apple ID.

If this does not help, on Safari, go to the Safari menu bar, click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab, then click: delete all data Web site

  • MG5620 does not connect with Mac computers

I just got a new printer since the death of my old one. It's the Pixma MG5620. Set up was easy, until I tried ot connect it to my computer and install the drivers. I have a mac running Snow Leopard. I tried once to date with the Mavericks, but it really slowed down my computer. When I try to install the drivers, I get the error: this program cannot be used with the current operating system. Is there something I can do?

    Hi kittennerd,

The printer requires at least Mac OS X 10.6.8 version be installed on your Mac.  If you have already installed this version of Mac OS X, you can download the latest drivers on the Canon USA site to install the printer.  Please click here to access the drivers and software page of the PIXMA MG5620.  Once the initial download to your model page, follow these steps:

    1. check that the operating system detected in the "OPERATING SYSTEM" drop is correct and if this isn't the case, please click on the drop down menu to select your operating system.

    2. then, click the red arrow next to the "RECOMMENDED FOR YOU" section and click on the DRIVER AND PACKAGE of SOFTWARE FULL file. When you do, a red DOWNLOAD button will appear. Please click the box below the button DOWNLOAD, and then click DOWNLOAD to start the download. The time for the download process can vary depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the size of the file being downloaded.

Once the file is downloaded, please double-click it and follow the prompts to install the printer on your Mac.

    I hope this helps!
