Express unit

On the express unit

If out leave appellant a voice mail for a user, this user listens to his answering machine, the prompt is like "you have the voicemail of unknow caller", how to change that.

Change in preference to:

1. you have a voicemail phone number xxxx

2. you have a new voicemail...

With 2.0 and later (I think it's the version CUE), you should be able to set up "e-mail voice callerid ' (enabled in global configuration in the CLI) and he will announce the caller ID (assuming that it does not exist on the call). It is the only option currently.

  • Can I plug two Airport Express units with ethernet cord and have a third Airport Express Terminal receive airplay music wirelesslly? In other words, can I combine a Wi - Fi network and roaming?

I have an undesirable on the 1st floor, connected to the cable modem Ethernet event. I want to connect that AE to an another AE on 2nd floor with ethernet cable AND have a 3rd AE on the 1st floor to receive music through AirPlay wireless. I thought that linking the two first AEs with ethernet would improve the performance of web site on my iMac desktop, which is on the 2nd floor and connects to the 2nd floor AE via wifi. The EI the first two are newer model (MC414LL/A); the 3rd AE is old model (MB321LL/A) and is connected to a stereo Bose with a mini-jack to RCA cable double cord. I tried to set up this network using AirPort Utility, but have had no success. I don't know if it is possible to do what I want to do; and if this is the case, I don't know how to set the various parameters for each AE using AirPort Utility. I've temporarily implemented a purely wireless network; Do not connect DO NOT the two AEs with ethernet and everything works. I would enjoy my plan as above, or if I hold with purely network wireless. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Using ethernet network roaming between the two floors is a much better idea than anything wireless.

The installation should be automagical if you start with the two AE plugged in by ethernet.

It must be configured in standard roaming with identical names wireless.

If you have any questions... Please, just after the airport utility screenshots of the configuration... but

An express train is probably the router? You must confirm this.

The second express is so configured in bridge... It's on the network tab, disable the bridge mode.

Without thread is set to create a wireless network and simply use the same name and the same password as the other Express.

As it should be automagical when you WAN on the second AE plugged into the LAN on the first AE.

Wireless and then extend to will also be installed enough well automatically even if sometimes it works better in a client that extend wireless mode.

  • Time lag by using several units of Airport Express in different places in a House!

    Hi guys,.

I have a setup that all my equipment is in what I would call a control room in the basement of my house.

Includes the Imac, Mac Pro and a PC.

All these are connected to a switch and from there 2 Airport Express joined the network to connect to amplifiers which in turn feed the cables in my living room and covered Patio speakers respectively (2 zones)

My intention is to install an already second-hand subwoofer Pioneer in my living room and do I buy an extra unit of Airport Express.

Attach it to my network (via Ethernet in my living room) as the House is wired.

It is then if I will face the time offset between the 2 express units airport due to difference in size of audio cables used to transfer the sound to the same location, EVEN the difference in the location of the 2 Airport express units?

Someone at - he had this experience?

Synchronization problems are common with the Airport Express. I can hear the slight differences in the arrival of time signal if the audio volume is up enough level to be able to hear the music in two adjacent rooms, with both expressing equal distance from the Ethernet switch.

Unfortunately, Apple provides no parameters to adjust the synchronization of the audio signal, and no one here has a crystal ball that is good enough to be able to predict the performance of your network. So, this is going to be one of those moments where you won't know how well it will work in your home, until you try them in your home.

Let us know how things work when you can.

  • Airport Express to extend

I have an existing using a Belkin ADSL2 + 4 port modem and a Double N + Router Belkin Wireless.  These are both located in my study.

My House is wired so that it has two ethernet ports in the wall of the study that point to other parts of the House - one for the living room on the ground floor and one in the living area upstairs.

The wireless signal in the lounge downstairs is okay, but not much.  Upstairs, he's weak.  Wanted to improve the signal throughout my house, so I bought two Airport Express units.

Initially, I plugged an Airport Express into my living room via Ethernet DRC and it seemed to work.  The signal in this area seems to improve, but I don't have all the numbers to back up this feeling.

Then I plugged the second Airport Express Terminal on my floor living room via Ethernet and now, it doesn't seem to work properly.  The signal on the floor is certainly not improved.

Any ideas?  Maybe I did not give sufficient information at this stage, but I don't know what could be relevant.

    Thank you

Initially, I plugged an Airport Express into my living room via Ethernet DRC and it seemed to work.  The signal in this area seems to improve, but I don't have all the numbers to back up this feeling.

We must first check that the AirPort Express in the area downstairs is working properly until we can address the issue with the first floor of the AirPort Express. Please be patient with this process, there will be additional questions based on the answers to the first two questions below.

    (1) where this airport located Express regarding the Belkin modem/router?  In other words, how far from the Belkin device is the AirPort Express Terminal?  How many walls or other obstacles between the Belkin device and the Express down?

    (2) only the low AirPort Express provide a signal of wireless network that uses the same wireless network name and password as the Belkin modem/router...or...does AirPort Express Terminal provides a network that uses a different wireless network name?

    (3) you have Mac laptop which allows you to check some network settings?

  • Airport Express is no longer connect to Airport Extreme

OK, it's kinda a complicated question.  For starters, I will describe my current setup:

Cable modem Motorola-> Airport Express #1-->(Ethernet over powerline)-> Airport Extreme-> multiple Airport Express for AirPlay

Airport Extreme and Airport Express #1 are put in place to create wireless networks, with different names for 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz frequencies.  I love this configuration because it allows me to play music simultaneously on the four different speakers hooked to my Airport Express units while offering good coverage in my apartment together.  It worked perfectly until two days ago when two of the Airport Express units lost their connection and are now flashing yellow.  I tried to restart the Airport Express and Airport Extreme, but nothing helped.  When I launch iStumbler, it looks like Airport Express #1 and Airport Extreme both create networks of right, but who is the Airport Extreme 802. 11A instead of 802.11n - don't know if it of a problem or not.  I suspect that the Airport Extreme is not working properly because when my wireless connection when you use my iPad near the Airport Extreme, that used to be solid as a rock, is now uneven intermittently.

Any ideas on how I can solve this?  Thank you very much!

It sounds like your extreme is the very old Gen1 or Gen2 model without dual band.

Back to the factory and start over. It's the best way to solve problems... reboot is worth a trial, but in the end, you sometimes just have to redo the installation.

  • 2nd generation Airport express does not not with El Capitan

My express shares two airport were suddenly disconnected my wifi. Despite the soft resets and reset hard I'm getting nowhere.

Airport said (6.3.6) utility it is impossible to extend the network, and amber flash units.

I think that this could have happened when I updated the software to 10.11.3, iMac but I'm not sure. earlier versions of El Cap worked very well.

I run a Time Capsule and then two Airport Express units off that to extend the network. The two Airport Express are 2nd generation.

    Thanks in advance

Make sure that the Time Capsule is not save at the time and then pull the power cord to the back of the unit or remove the plug from the AC outlet

Wait 10 to 15 seconds, and then turn on again time Capsule and let it run.

Temporarily move an AirPort Express Terminal in the same room or in immediate proximity to the time Capsule. Power off of the 'other' AirPort Express for now.

Perform a hard reset on an AirPort Express Terminal by pressing the button of reset for 5-6 seconds while the airport was turned on for a few minutes. Release the reset button and allow a minute for the AirPort Express restart to a slow status of amber light flashes.

Rerun the Setup program on the AirPort Express

If things set up correctly, turn off the AirPort Express and move to the desired location, and then turn it upwards.

Turn on the second AirPort Express Terminal, perform a hard reset on the device and set up again as you did the AirPort Express.

  • Absent express PCI into Dell 11 7140 pro 64 bit win 8.1 place

I just bought this promising device of the internet store and try to get to know it better.

When you run the Dell 'PC checkup' application with a "standard scan" I however received a cryptic message. He said that the test of the system is not succsessful due to "no PCI Express unit. I repeated the test after resoring the PC with files preserved and had the same result.

Is it a material default and what can I do about it?

I just got an update of software on the PC checkup app and now the problem seems to be resolved.

  • Example of configuration, VPIM between the unity and Unity express

I neet to configure the network of VPIM between unit w/Exchange and 3rd-party voice messaging system and want to familize functionality. That's the analogy between unity and unity express research. I can understand between the unit and Exchange, but do not know how it works between Exchange and the express unit. specually the requirement of the domain.

Can I get the sample configuration for configuring VPIM between unit w/Exchange network and the express unit?

    Thanks in advance,

Networking VPIM can be used for networking between Unity and Unity Express, just as it can be used for networking with a third-party system, however, each have their own implementation. Unity Express does not connect to the Exchange. I suggest you re-read the chapter ' using VPIM for Networking with Cisco Unity Express or other Cisco Unity Systems "to http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/products_feature_guide_chapter09186a0080449a39.html and Cisco Unity Express Networking guide at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/sw/voicesw/ps5520/prod_configuration_basics09186a008035bbdb.html.

A third-party system would have concepts comparable to the implementation of unity VPIM, but would not exactly be the same - see the documentation of that system for details.

  • Why Airport Extreme disappeared from Airport utility, after adding to the mac feature?

10.11 OS, with the version of the airport, 6.3.6.  I can see is no longer my Airport Extreme Airport utility after I activated to Mac. I have Airport Extreme base ME91899/A and two Airport Express units model A1392 bolt torque.  I set up the Airport Extreme unit and the network first.  I was able to see the Airport utility. I then added each airport express unit. They were also visible. Then I added back the ability of Mac to the Airport extreme unit, and now it is no longer visible in the Airport utility.  Why is this?

Apple has problems much time with iCloud. Turn off Back to My Mac across your airport routers and then shut down and restart the entire network.

We will have to wait for a fix from Apple.

  • Extending Apple WiFi

I have a base station extreme in my basement and then 3 units Airport Express in my whole House connected through ethernet cables, creating a network of 'Roaming '. (I think that's the right terminology).

Each express uses the same SSID and password as the main base station and I am able to work transparently throughout the pipe and I have good coverage throughout.

I'm now trying to get coverage outside in the garden in a hut that I just built. When my iPhone is connected to the network, and I walk outside in the backyard in the cabin I can just about keep generally the smaller 'bar' on the wifi signal but it is very poor and spotty coverage. If I disable the wifi on my phone and turn it back on, I usually don't even 'see' my network SSID when you are in the shed in the back yard.

I have power in the cabin but no Cat5. I would get another AE and plug it into the cabin and extend my wireless network.

I read about it online, and from the Apple Web site, it reads as follows:

«If another extended ➋ terminal of Wi - Fi is placed between primary ➊ Terminal Wi - Fi and the prolonged use of Wi - Fi base station ➌, the ➌ extended station basic Wi - Fi will not allow clients join.» "Any extended Wi - Fi base stations must be direct scope of station primary base of Wi - Fi.

If my ' primary WiFi base station is my main Airport Extreme base station in my basement, so this could be a problem because I do not think I would choose the (however weak) signal in the shed of the base station, I think I have pick up one of the AE (hard wired) units I have in my kitchen (close to the backyard).» However, if because my AE units are hard wired via Cat5, and I have a "mobile network" should be ok "extension" my network with a new AE in the shed, assuming that it can 'see' some of the signal?

My apologies for the convoluted message. TIA (thanks in advance)

The example you cited applies to networks wireless extended.

You cannot have a base > AE wireless > wireless AE setup as it comes to multiple jumps wireless.

In theory, if you have a roaming network, each Airport Express device should be broadcasting from the main network and is connected via a cable, so you should be able to extend the wireless network out to the backyard using an another AE, as long as it is in the range of one of the devices on the network roaming, i.e. your AE kitchen current.

The good thing is that you can test it before buying an another AE as long as you don't mind having to adjust the configuration of one of them temporarily.

Take one of the Airport Express units around the House (i.e., not one that is closer to the backyard), reset the default device, and then use Airport utility to re - set up to extend the wireless network. It in the House at the moment so that the unit is without any doubt in the range of the network. Once you have configured and tested (e.g., is light green), take it out to the cabin, plug it in and see what happens.

  • How can I increase band bandwidth wifi between floors?

My Airport Extreme is on the floor at one end of the apartment (by necessity), and I need bandwidth better reach down to the other end.  How can I set up multiple Airport Express units to achieve this?

Use wires, sound much better then wireless (which will reduce the available bandwidth)

  • AirPort utility

I just added two AirPort Express units to my Time Capsule to expand my network.  Only one of the AirPort Express units appear in Airport utility, but both have the green light.  How can I find the 2nd Airport Express AirPort Utility?

It is possible to "extend" by connecting a fast into the Capsule of time using a wired Ethernet cable... which gives best performance... or... by connecting the Express using a wireless connection... which unfortunately will result in a loss of about half of the maximum on the network speed.  With two expresses, the loss will be unfortunately much more.

You are using Ethernet or wireless to connect Express devices to time Capsule?

There will be more questions, but to go on the right track until we can make a lot of progress.

In the meantime... try powering down of the entire network... all devices... in any order you want

    Wait a minute

Start the modem and let it run for 2-3 minutes

Starting the device connected to a modem and leaves turn a good minute

Keep the commissioning of the devices at once a minute outside until the entire network is back

    Recheck the network

    Any change?

  • Reduced after formatting ability

One of my disks in HARD disk shows a reduced after formatting ability. Why would he do that?

Binary (where a kilobyte is equal to 1024 bytes) and Decimal (where a kilobyte is equivalent to 1000) are the two different number systems which are used to express units of storage capacity. Industry standard is to display capacity in decimal places, but some programs to measure the ability of a disk in binary format. I hope that answers your question!

  • Reset Time Capsule

Recently we have updated the modem cable from our ISP.  They feared that I had "bridged" their older modem with our Time Capsule from Apple and they have suggested that may have impeded the reliability and power of the WIFI signal.

While the installation crew got TV HD on cable and update the connection wifi and pw on most of our devices, they do not affect the Time capsule and Airport Express units. I found a great set of instructions of Bob Timmons referenced as thread 7371984 I went to reset the Time capsule and everything seems OK.  My question is - O of can now disconnect the cable between the cable modem and the Time Capsule?  Or it is part of the permanent set up now?

How works the time Capsule, it's having its own network that the internet modem simply provides a wifi signal. Which means if you have the modem (thus has its own network name) plugged in you use the name of the network of the time Capsule (everything you have created) (with the modem wifi signal) and if you unplug the modem from the time Capsule... both the Capsule and the modem will continue to work separately.

The modem makes a wifi signal

Time Capsule provides a signal to connect on its own

The two will work alone, as if you didn't know it

However, unable to connect to two different wifi at the same time with the same camera signals and this is why you use the modem connected to the time Capsule so the time Capsule has the internet and you can use with the internet time Capsule.

    I hope this helps.
