Factory settings question

Hello!

I decided that I would return my HP Pavilion a4317c to factory settings again, as might be able to see, I just can't. The option is not available.

Unfortunately, I do not have the image factory discs and I do not have a backup date together that far back or even close as far behind.

All solutions?

Thank you

Peter

  • NB200-10Z - how to restore factory settings?

    Hello

I seem to have a pretty annoying problem with the NB200 - 10Z.
The operating system is WinXP SP3.

I was looking to restore it to its factory settings by using the tools of Toshiba, pressing F8 during the boot sequence, this however does not take me to a screen where I can choose 'Repair' as online guide of Toshiba said.
My only options were by selecting start normally, or start in safe mode, safe mode with network and so on. I have consulted the original manual included with the laptop, but that doesn't make the light on the problem, in fact I found the manual to be pretty empty.
There isn't any help on formats, restore to factory or other maintenance. Disappointing.

Another option is creating a recovery disk, however, Toshiba tool will only advise that it cannot find all the stations that contain writable media, simply because the NB200-10Z is not a CD/DVD/BD drive. The only available ports are SD and USB.

So my question is, how do I format/reset to factory settings the NB200-10Z without external CD/DVD/readers writers, using the USB/SD slots? Because I can't find a way to create an ISO recovery with the Toshiba tool, which I was able to get on a bootable USB device.
And even if there is a way to do it, how do I adjust the NB200 to boot from USB? Looking at the bios settings and boot options, showed that only the LAN and HARD drive are supported.

    Greetings,

    Boris

    Hi Boris,.

Usually, if you start media recovery disk creator, you can choose on which device (CD/DVD or USB) the recovery media must be created. There you should be able to change between the CD/DVD drive and USB. If you select USB you can create the recovery on a USB media.
You can boot from that disk if you connect before you start the computer, then go to the start of the BIOS (F12) menu and then you can select the USB key.

According to the manual of the drive recovery HARD can be started while pressing the value 0 (zero) key before Windows starts.

  • Cannot restore my L750-170 Satellite to factory settings

    Hi all

I have a Satellite Win 7 64 bit L750-170. I want to start the HARD drive partition recovery process, but the option does not appear in the page of rescue under the command promp option.

I have held down the 0 key, the key F12 and the process of repairing construction, but, alas, no option to start the recovery... See here... http://APS2.Toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD1303440001R02.htm

The last option next to the red arrow... I don't understand that... I have the partition on the disk, just can not access... I suspect that the o/s has been more written... What are my choices?

    Cheers in advance...

As I see in this document is described clearly that you need to use F8 at startup. If you have the European model for laptop, you use F8 to display the advanced startup options.
The first option, there are fix my computer. With this option, you should be able to enter the system recovery options and are offered option for installation of HARD drive recovery.

Please note: this works only if your laptop is always the factory settings. In case you have installed the version of the own BONE this option won't be there more.
So the question is: what version of the OS is installed on your machine?

Only way to install original recovery image is to use recovery DVDs, but I assume that you didn't create, right?

I advise holding down the power button until the computer turns off and then turn it back on and boot from the recovery media again like you did before if you still have questions after what we do more testing.

  • Toshiba A30 restore factory settings

pretty stupid question, but I need to restore factory settings, does anyone know how to do?
Ive tried the system restore forest and it goes back only to a certain point
I don't know what else to do?

    Hi Carolina,.

When you say 'Restore factory settings', do you mean that you want to restore your A30 to its original condition, with original OEM software installation etc. That you could do it using the recovery CD, but this will remove one of your own data and software as well as raw product updates that you can download.

Is it just that you have a problem with your system that may be corrected, rather than do a full restore?

  • Flag 23: Restore factory settings

This unit came with Windows 8, later I upgraded Windows 10.  If I restore it to factory settings it will stay with Windows 8 or 10 of Windows?

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

To answer your question, a factory reset restores the PC to its ORIGINAL operating system because it's what is recorded in the recovery on the PC partition when it is first created.

However, try to do it now using HP Recovery Manager is almost certainly NOT going to work - because the upgrade of Win10 is known to corrupt information HP recovery: HP Recovery Manager blocked after Windows 10 Upgrade - HP Support Forum's - 5170752

To do a factory reset NOW, you will need to order recovery HP media.

It is a set of DVD and a CD or a USB key, which will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entry and click on order to press for more details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: once you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to someone ' one - it can take a while!
    ---------------------------------------
However, HP customer care is generally not available on weekends, so you will have to wait until Monday to contact them.

If HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you can check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

  • Satellite L305D-S5938: factory settings restore Vista or Win7

Hello. Please excuse me if this question has an obvious answer.
Sorry if this has already been asked before.

I bought my computer until Windows 7 came out (around August 2009), so he came originally with Vista, and a CD to upgrade came in the mail.

I upgraded to Windows 7 for some time and used without incident.
However, one day the computer froze and I had to force-stop it. When I tried to reboot, it gave me an error saying that it lacked a critical file and I need to insert an installation disc. I looked online and tried to start the upgrade CD and a CD of retrieval from the internet. Right now the recovery CD "tried to fix" my computer for the last 20 hours ago, and I'm starting to think it never ends.
    ---
So my question is, if I restore to factory settings, it will restore to Vista or will be automatically somehow supported the installation of Windows 7.

If it goes back to Vista, and I reinstall Windows 7 with upgrade CD, I'm afraid that it will not activate correctly because I did once before. So if I reset to factory settings, I will be able to use new Windows 7?

A response would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

    > if I restore to factory settings, it will restore to Vista or will be automatically somehow supported the installation of Windows 7.

Personally, I've never used Windows Vista upgrade to 7 using the upgrade disc. But I think that if you restore the factory settings, you will get back to Vista and then upgrade to win 7 with a cd you received in the mail.

    >, I fear that it will not activate correctly because I did once before

You can activate as many times as you want :) have no problem with him. Note that you must save all things necessary before restoring the factory as local settings. you be wiped.

  • Satellite A200-17O - how to restore Windows to the factory settings?

    Hello

I have a Satellite A200-17O. I want to restore Windows Vista to factory settings, I did not need to backup all the files. I don't have the product recovery CD. When I press F8 and click on the "Repair" option, it will give me all the options, but when I click on the option to completely recover the system (the one on the bottom), it will simply open a window telling me to back up my data, then theres a button 'OK', and when I click that, the window will simply close and return to the menu options. All I want is to return Vista to factory settings.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello

Yes, normally you can restore your computer laptop initial configuration using disk HARD recovery option. Therefore, you must follow the instructions here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

If it doesn't work, you need to use the Toshiba recovery disc. If your computer laptop didn t come with such a recovery disk you create yourself using recovery preinstalled creator tool. This is mentioned in your user manual, have you checked it?

Therefore, you need a few blank DVDs. I recommend the DVD-R from Verbatim or TDK. Many users here have a good experience with these brands.

If you have any other questions, just after again! ;)

  • Satellite A300-15 has back to factory settings

    Hello!

I have an old Satellite A300-15 and I want to go back to factory settings after almost seven years of never format the hard drive.

I did a little research on this 'how... "but I still don't know if the laptop comes with a windows recovery or not.

I have another laptop with a score of "windows recovery", but in my toshiba, the only thing I see is a recovery of HARD drive file in my E: partition. I don't really know if that helps the reinstallation of windows.

So if I reset the laptop with the method 'laptop computer Tower, hold the blah blah 0 button"it completely format my C: and need to reinstall windows or not?

    (Running Windows Vista)

How it works with the recovery image installation, you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm

Start your laptop with F8 and choose the option to repair your computer. Follow the instructions on the screen and you will be able to install the original recovery image.

Installation of recovery described called the installation of HARD drive recovery. With other words, saved on the HARD disk in the folder HDDRecovery recovery image will be reinstalled on the C partition only and the second partition of HARD drive will not be deleted or formatted.

In my opinion, that you create the recovery using disc (DVD) preinstalled creator Toshiba recovery disc. You can use created bootable disks to install original Vista. When you use discs, the whole HARD disk will be deleted, formatted, new partitions created and installed Vista end.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • Satellite L350-277 - how to recover to factory settings?

I had a lot of problems with my Satellite L350-277. I had already created a recovery to help drive the Tech that was installed on the laptop guy.

In any case, it is time to reinstall again to the State of the plant. Thoughtless I pulled a drive of my computer Vista laptop satellite (I thought it was the original disc). All goes well until it restarts after you install windows system. On the screen was the warning that the product key was wrong, that's when I noticed the Vista on the screen. So I tracked down to the copy I made, it was not in the channel where I put the original his was among all the garbage I've had in the area (where I put all the waste). He was full of scratches and it does not load.

What I had actually done using the Vista disc has been clear the program on the D drive that reads from Windows 7. I ended up going to the PCWorld Tech guys. They have reinstalled windows 7 for the cost of £50. I didn't mind that I got my laptop working again. What I did not know according to them, was I can't create a recovery disk.

So to my question. Can I get my laptop back with all Toshiba knick knacks, so that its possible to create a restore disk. If not, can I get a Windows 7 disc installation program, download all drivers & create a restore disk in case of something that happens and I can reinstall windows 7? Get cramps in my fingers now. I'm not going on a little lol.

    Hey Buddy,

That s a little confused is your story...

Normally you get factory settings if you are using the Toshiba recovery disc. It will restore the pre-installed Windows version that came with your laptop.

If you have Windows 7, you can t create a Toshiba Recovery disk. Only possible on what s preinstalled Windows from Toshiba, but if you install your own copy, you can create such a floppy.

If you have the original operating system back, you can order a recovery disc Toshiba here:
