Factory warranty of blackBerry Smartphones

Hello, I'm getting rather desperate to not be able to solve the problem with my white Bold9780.

I have a 1 year BB bold 9780 white. I bought this smartphone on the web 10/19/2011 to an official supplier of BB (Gigavolt) but without SIM-lock and subscription. Then I bought a SIM only at T-mobile subscription. This combination well until last October when problems with the key to the lock and the key Board has begun to spoil my communications.

Unfortunately, Gigavolt went bankrupt in May this year. now, we took their warranty obligations so a dead-end.

I can't go to T-mobile, because they give me the phone. So now I'm trying to use the warranty service factory RIM since the phone has a 2-year warranty. So I'm still whithin the warranty period.

The only phone number, that I could find on the web was to the United Kingdom, but it seems more to be in use.

So I sent an email to [email protected] about where to go. The answer was a general response indicating that the email has not been delivered and that I had to go to the be my wirelss supplier (which would be in this case does not, but T-mobile, see above) or on the forum. It would have been different, of course, if I was a professional company with a technical support contract.

So this forum seems to be my last resort before considering my BB to be trash and throw it away. Of course I can always try a smartphone repair shop, but that would be the guarantee of course.

If anyone knows what to do in this case special? Where can I go to with my Bold 9780 for repair or replacement to the title of the factory warranty? The problem is 2 times: a key that does not 'lock' and a problem of keyboard (letters do not appear or the wrong letters appear after pressing the keys).

Antoine

Antoine, just so you know, this is a support forum for user community. We are not employed RIM, but volunteers who enjoy helping other users. ON-BOARD staff rarely comment on queries posted here. We are users like you.

If your machine was purchased in October 2011, it would be under warranty, regardless.

The question that you specify ("a key that does not 'lock' and a keyboard problem (letters do not appear or the wrong letters appear after pressing the keys") is not uncommon with devices with moisture damage.

This looks like what I've seen several times on a device with moisture damage.
Even sitting on a countertop bath during a hot steamy shower or bath can cause problems with keyboard and trackball up to this JUST-withered. Really, it is more common than you think.
1 the battery immediately! Do not turn on your BlackBerry device.
2. allow the device to dry in a warm, dry place for 3 to 5 days * (see below)
3. DO NOT "check it every day" by placing the battery in. Leave what would to dry completely. It takes time. Replacing the battery to check it can damage only (humidity + power = disaster).
4. If the unit is hot after the drying period, let it cool to room temperature before placing the battery in the.

Suggestions on your BlackBerry in a warm dry place (open, with battery):
* Place the BB in a container of rice uncooked dry, and then you can also place it in one of the locations mentioned below.
* On top of any heat dry emitting electronic components: TV or CRT, LCD, TV cable box / Satellite or plasma monitor
* On the dashboard of your car on a day sunny

  • Browser blackBerry Smartphones has cuts/white blanks?

My Torch 9800 is three months old now, and last week, the browser started to act weird. In any website I'll twitter, yahoo homepage or tumblr, there's always the whitespace or cuts that doesn't let me see the whole page. Is not that a Cup, I scroll down there will be white discounts every now and then.  It is not something bad internet connection either, I tried to test it located next to our router with full signal and always the page load like that.

It is not a centre for Blackberry here in the Philippines and the closest is Hong Kong or Singapore. The telecom brand I got the phone to advised me to try to reset my phone back to the factory settings, while perhaps this glitch could clarify. I asked them if it was something that could be solved by putting up-to-date or is the result of accidentally change some options of the phone. In the end they told me back toward the top of my phone, it brings them so they could restore it to factory settings, bad comes to worse that he is still not back to normal, since it is still under warranty, they'll gladly give me a new.

ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS? It has something to do with the update? lack of storage space? accidentally change browser options/settings?

OK... Here are the steps that you need:

Beware of all the warnings, he said. Later, when you make your restore, don't do not restore basically this will just put it on your BB policy... rather a selective restore of only those databases that you absolutely need and especially leaving off anything to do with COMPUTING strategies:

Hmmm... Sorry to sound as I do not understand, but well I don't. Does this mean that the steps, has worked exactly as described, but do not resolve the symptoms you have described initially? Alternatively, the steps even not worked exactly as described?

    EmmanuelSmith911 wrote:
I'm starting to think that this could be the it policy which could cause this problem. How can I remove the it policy?

It is possible. But if you stay on BES, you cannot remove the it policy... you have to work with your BES admins to solve the problem.

If you are not on BES, you must first check if you have a latent policy on board:

    • Article ID: KB30076 How to check for an it on a BlackBerry smartphone policy

If you have one, then this is the only method to remove:

    • Article ID: KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

Beware you warnings... it's completely destructive to everything you have on your device now, then you must know how to recover from that after the withdrawal of the policy. If you choose to use the backup/restore as your method of recovery, so make sure you do selective and not wholesale... If you restore databases who say company policy or something similar, then you just put it on your device policy, and be right back where you started.

    Good luck!

With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) Remove and return Service books

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot-~ 5 minutes...
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

N ° of BB devices lack a complete email client on them. Instead, they depend on the BIS service to provide messaging functionality. BIS is active when you have also listed Internet/personal email where you currently see only Enterprise. All services of BIS, are sent to the device via data carrier network... contact them are therefore the right approach to discover why their network is no longer to deliver to you the services that you pay for.

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not CONNECT to THE SERVER

Hello need help. My Blackberry Curve 8520 (OS 5.0.0.1036) does not connect to the server. It shows my network (Vodafone) and gets a strong signal; makes and receives calls; connect wifi; but it is also completely static. After the first Setup email screen I get: your device has a connection to the server problm.  (I think it means the Blackberry server?)  So I can not connect any email.  Very well in my other near-identical Curve 8520 Sim Card work.  How can I do please?  Y at - it a reset or software update is complete I can undertake? Thank you, Michael

I can help you with the it policy... lack of procedure for access to the BES server, this (and only this) cleanse a BB to an it policy:

    • Article ID: KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

If you do a backup/restore, don't do this basically... rather, backup/restore only the databases specific you need (for example, calendar, contacts, messages, etc.) and more precisely to avoid data bases having something to with COMPUTER policy, business, etc.. If you restore those, the it policy will be conscientiously restored to the device, and you will be right where you are now.

As for a BES Server trying to reach out... There is nothing that I can offer you. Your best bet is to talk to your provider and make sure you have no BES-level service enabled on your account of them. Who should (note 'should'... is there no guarantees) prevent a BES server to reach out and the reactivation of your device.

    Good luck!
