  I solved this problem by replacing the applications folder and the Adobe folder in the library - folder of Application support with the files from before the last update of Mavericks using Time machine.

  It worked for me.

  I'm running Thunderbird 31.5.0 on Windows 8.1. Trying to install a certificate (Options-> advanced-> Certificates-> view certificates-> import), the Certificate Manager brings me a master password (as expected), who is never accepted. No matter what I'm typing, the password prompt will appear again and so will never install the certificate. This product for .p12 as .pfx files.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Problem solved. If someone stumbles across this post, I couldn't make it work because it was not sufficiently clear that Thunderbird has been asked for the password master and not the password to import the certificate.

  If you have set a master password (recommended), you will need to enter (if you have not already in the same session) before you can import a certificate.

  You can try to uninstall all entries of "Microsoft Visual C++" from the windows control panel and see if the error message disappears.

  To successfully install the update, uninstall all versions of the .NET Framework on the computer, and then reinstall all the versions of the .NET Framework on the computer. You may need to work through more than one of the following methods.

  Method 1: Manually remove and reinstall .NET Framework

  To remove and reinstall .NET Framework manually, follow these steps:

  1. remove the .NET Framework.

  a. Click Start and then click Control Panel.

  b. double-click Add or remove programs.

  c. Note each version of the .NET Framework is already installed on the computer. Then, uninstall all versions of the .NET Framework.

  d. When you are prompted, restart the computer.

  2. use the Windows Installer CleanUp utility to clean up the State of MSI database for all versions of the .NET Framework.

  This will be fixed in the next version of NOR-KAL (1.9).  The problem is that we used ' gcc - version "instead of"gcc - v", which matches the string by the kernel.  You can either wait for the official release of NOR-KAL 1.9 or if you are comfortable playing with shell scripts, you can change:

  Search for currentGCCVersion and replace it with something like:

  UPDATE of SECURITY FOR SQL SERVER 2005 SERVICE PACK 3 (KB970892) fails to install. All I get is error CODE 7358. I tried to turn on all SQL servers but two refuses to start giving me several error codes. Both are SQL SERVER ACTIVE... ERROR CODE 1073741724 and CODE17113 of ERROR SQL SERVER (MSSMLBIZ).   The analysis of windows update says that no critical updates are available.  However, Secunia scan says my Windows is vulernable because the security KB2686509 patch is not installed.  My tool bar constantly shows the yellow shield indicating that an update is available. When I click it, it initializes successfully but gives a message that KB2686509 has failed to install.  There is no other error code of the message on the nature of the problem.

  I am running Vista Home Premium.  Windows update fails to install KB2656368 and KB2686827.  Download error code641 which seems to mean that Windows cannot identify the problem.  In the past, it was caused because the installer has been damaged.  In setting the Microsoft Support took control of my computer; Download a new installer and solved the problem.  However, it seems that there is no way of contacting Microsoft Support for them to fix the installation program.  The installation program be fixed right now.  Moreover, the tool "Fixit" said that everything is fine.

  Microsoft paid $99 for the support.  Tech uploaded a new installer.  Problem solved!
