Feature of Smartphones blackBerry unlocking password problem!

Hey all. I password protect my BB tour so that I'm not dial Pocket accidentally someone while it is in my pocket. I know what my password that I have not changed, he never.

I connected it to my computer to see if there was the only updated to use for him, and he asked me to enter my password. At that time, I didn't know that the password he wanted was that I used to unlock the device, so I tried some I thought that may be the right ones. They did not work of course. So I unplugged my phone because had to go to work. It is at this time that I realized that she wanted the password that I use throughout the day. But when I went to get in, I noticed that, instead being in default to digital, this is abc. I hit alt shift and locking the keypad and typed in my pwd (which is a numeric sequence). That did not work. So I tried again... no dice! Now I'm on my LAST ATTEMPT or I could lose all my info! I'm sure that I have a backup at home, but I don't want to have to deal with a wipe of phone.

So my question is... are the brains scrambled here, (and non-blocking of numeric type, which I don't normally do by default) and are rather flip flop, should I just type numbers and let him show me letters and press enter? I only have a single blow to this! But I know for a fact that has not changed my pwd, and I entered the right one.

Thank you!
Jason

SOLUTION:

I managed to get into my phone during the final attempt... but I thought it was ongoing, was not the case. As explaing to me in another forum, when a person creates his password for the first time... keyboard rules still apply. Many people like me, assume that for some reason any that the pwd they are entered is digital. Probably because on non-smartphones when you enter a pwd, as for voice mail or something, it is by default to digital without having to use a modifier key. But this isn't the case, unless they first hit alt/shift for numberlock the keyboard when creating their password for the first time. So if you think you type in "1234", you actually type in "Walker", UNLESS you first hit alt/shift and type in 1234. At this point, it's definitely digital. If you do not use the alt or SHIFT key, you actually type the lowercase.

I tested this theory by changing my password what I thought was 1234 (but was in fact Walker), and on the creation of the new DDT, I hit alt/shift (which does not count as a combination of keys!) who has locked the keypad and then typed in 1234. I did it twice, and the new DDT has been set. Then I locked my phone and then tried to unlock it. I tried to type right 1234 and it did not work. I then [I] locked number [/ i] of the keyboard by selecting alt/shift, typed in 1234, and it worked! Yet once, the keyboard rules STILL APPLY in all situations.

Hope it will be useful. Someone should make this a sticky, because this problem is widespread and many people have the same impression that I was... when they create a password it defaults to digital. But this is not the case, unless you use the modifier keys!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry ID password reset email does not contain a link to reset the password!

I'm having the same issue that this guy had in this forum (which appears not to be a solution?): http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-PlayBook/Blackberry-ID-Password-Reset/m-p/1745415#...

Basically, I'm trying to reset my password for my Blackberry Curve Blackberry. I receive a password reset email when I ask, but the email does not contain a link to reset my password. ALL of the email is the following:

"This email has been automatically generated. Please do not respond to this e-mail.

Does anyone know what is the problem? It is not my web browser which distort the enamel - I tried to retrieve the email from Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer.

It is very strange indeed... with only 2 causes possible I think.

    (1) your e-mail (on your PC) application blocking the link provided in the email... a lot of apps email will do that and sometimes you have to replace them. If you have another interface to use (for example, webmail interface, GMail and Outlook), then try the other and see if that helps. According to the messaging environment (for example, private corporate e-mail system), it is also possible that some bridge along the trail is stripping on the necessary link for safety.

    (2) the installation of e-mail to reset is actually broken, and enamel does not contain what it is supposed to. If this is the case, then it requires a formal attention to the RIM. The only way to achieve this is for you to contact the Association and to degenerate the RIM of your case.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry ID password recovery

    Hello world

Does anyone know if there is another medium can recover their BlackBerry ID password? I saved my password on my password keeper who was scratched with everything else and the security answer I give is apparently wrong. • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry correct password is not accepted and it shows what I'm typing instead of hide with asterisks!

I'm locked out of my Blackberry again because she seems to be defective.  When I type the password, it shows what I'm typing, instead of hide with asterisks and returns to the alphabet except if I press Alt + the key.  Even when I enter the password carefully, he always says that it is false.  I have 2 or 3 attempts left.  Last time that this happened a few months ago, he found himself any wiping.  I would like to avoid losing some valuable audio files stored on the phone.  Thank you!

I think you have some misconceptions about the BlackBerry device passwords.

    1. When you have entered the password incorrectly about five times, the * mask will show you the characters you type to help you see what you typed.

    2. often users with several figures in their password will only press the ALT key to the first digit and not those who follow, so for example, if your password "1234", you could put pressure on 'Alt 1234 "on the device, making the real password to be"1st".

Who is? It sounds familiar to your use? In order to verify the manner in which you enter your password on the device... do you think that you enter several numbers, but in fact are not?

FYI - Your indignation is misplaced. This site has nothing to do with any formal support. On the contrary, this site is a community of users to volunteers who do their best, while also living their own lives occupied, to troubleshoot other kind souls to the best of their ability. There is no requirement for all voluntary meet any position whether... everything is voluntary, which is given to you by the goodness of their hearts. All they ever receive in return is gratitude... so unworthy of these volunteers can be a bit off-putting, I think.

In any case you say you reboot and for a while, things are OK, but then the problem shows once again. Which could be a few different things... a bad OS... a bad app behave... maybe same material (although I doubt that your description so far).

Have you checked for an OS updated for your BB? Since you said only 7.1 (OS levels have 4 bytes, not 2) and later does not reveal your carrier, there is no way to help you... but you can help you in this regard:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry ID zero problem

I created an id blackberry initially and connected to the start. Next day I could not connect using my password. I tried several times and it didn't work. That's why I checked my email for any link reset password, and unfortunately, I clicked on another link that says that "If you're not created this id click this link to remove" (something like that). I confirmed and deleted this ID and created a new. However while trying to connect with the new id I am not able to connect because it is said that a different id is attached to the phone and calls the previous id for the realted password. Then I tried to reset the gap even ' OPTIONS---> DEVICE--> BACKBERRY ID, but I couldn't because before clicking or change any String he takes me directly into the previous log in page. ". Finally, I tried to erase the data by using the option 'security' option does not work also. Please let me know how I can fix this problem. Thanks in advance.

    Thank you

    Hello

    Welcome to the community

As I understand it, all you need to do is use the new Blackberry ID, but the phone it does not accept because of the former an integrated into the phone. If it also only allows you to clear the phone, please reload the device software by following the steps in this link.

  • Smartphones blackBerry with emails problem

    Hello

For some time (2 or more weeks), I have problem with my emails. Some of them come with delays to the aircraft, some of them come at all. Resemble delays of 15 minutes up to a few hours. For example: today last email I received at 07:40 on the interval, during the day I got 30 + emails and I don't have on the device. I called to the Poland of T - Mobile, but it seems that they don't care. "We're sorry, we're working on that, we'll fix it...". ». I called them last week, yesterday, an official complaint was sent by post 3 days ago. Still nothing. Is there another solution for this problem? My camera BB9900 with OS 7.1 worm 2061 (v. 7.1.0.714, platform 5.1.0.532).

    Thanks in advance

Hello and welcome to the community!

Your device, that's all that you can do the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

If this does not it, it's on the door-side (as they have told you), and unless you have a way to fight them, you must wait for them to solve. You can, of course, check your contract documentation to see if it is at any point in the required resolution that they must respect... that normally would require so some financial remedies to their users. I have no idea what your contract might say in this regard, however.

    Good luck!

  • Smartphones blackBerry calendar sync problems on handheld after download from 4.5 to Pearl

I have download software 4.5 my Pearl, and now events calendar on my handheld won't synchronize with my desktop.  I reinstalled the software 4.2 on my desktop and have restarted, but it is not always sync right as your handheld still has 4.5 software.  How can I undo what I did to make my pocket calendar and my desktop calendar can be synchronized?

    Hi all!

This problem is actually caused by the incorrect default service on your BlackBerry smartphone.  This article should be able to explain in more detail and instruction to fix it:

    www.BlackBerry.com/btsc/KB10374

In addition, if the service bureau is the only service listed from your BlackBerry smartphone, this means that your handheld is missing your BIS service books email account.   The service books can be easily send from your phone smart BlackBerry or the BIS E-mail Web Site.  For instructions to return the address maintenance of your handheld, you can follow the article below:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/KB16383

    Have a wonderful day!

  • Contacts synchronization to Smartphones blackBerry and calendar - problems with Outlook Connector (and other things).

    Hello world

I just got my first BlackBerry (storm) and this is my first post on the forums.  I read around a lot and found pieces of this problem but no definitive answer (which I understand).  So, I know it's a delicate subject, but really hope that someone can help you.

FYI, I use Windows Vista and Outlook 2003 with the connector Outlook synchronize my e-mail, contacts and calendar on my Windows Live Hotmail account.

I installed the Desktop Manager software V.4.7 and crossed to set up > sync and selected Outlook for Contacts.  The wizard all seems to work OK but then when I press "Finish" I get the error message ' file is does more part of the system data source or the couldnot folder is located.

I partially understand the idea that my Contacts are not in Outlook, they are in my hotmail/live account.  My question is how can I work around this problem and import my contacts to the BlackBerry?  It will not accept an exported .pst file or can it link directly to hotmail?

(On the basis of the advice on the forum), I found is you go into Outlook and adjust the settings of your e-mail account to send incoming emails into "Personal folder" instead of "* @hotmail.co.uk ' then he manages to pass the error message, however, I found no data calendar or contact in my outlook personal folders for BlackBerry to synchronize with a time that I did."

I'll try to do a few requests on a Microsoft forum on the features between Outlook and Hotmail to see if there is an easy way to get my data anywhere in the personal folders so that the BlackBerry it can sync from there.  I'm afraid to lose emails or functionalitly to the Outlook Connector on my PC to subsequently change the default e-mail folder.

Sorry for the length of the message but thought the more detail the better - thanks in advance for any help you can offer,

    Al.

Just in case anyone else has this problem, I got a work around (not a solution, but it works).  In Outlook, go to Contacts - export to file and select: separation by comma (Windows). CSV file - save it to your PC.

Then open a Yahoo mail account (if you have not already one) go to Classic view, Contacts and to the right of the screen, there is an option to import/export.  Select the location of the CSV file you saved on your PC and transfer it on Yahoo.

You can now go through the DM Assistant and select sync with Yahoo.  It is ideal to add contacts to the phone for the first time.  Don't forget to make sure that everything is up-to-date and complete in Outlook Contacts before export to the CSV file.

If you want to add contacts to the future, the best way is to add to Outlook first and then go through the process of exporting the CSV file again - this will ensure that all records are the same.  Although if you wanted too, you can also export from BB in Yahoo, then in Outlook as Yahoo also exported contacts to a CSV file.

    Hope that helps someone...

    Al.

There is your problem. Rogers doesn't have a plan PAYGO for the BlackBerry data Plan.

You need a contract, and add the BlackBerry data Pan, to get the BlackBerry features you want. There's no other way.
