Fingerprints ID number

Having a real problem. Just going in circles.

Just did a restore and now the connection of the fingerprint reader is apparently spent some password which is not known. The fingerprint is read and recognized, but then it asks me to enter a new password to windows update. I do this twice, but then he says it is not able to update and asks me to do it again.

Tried to just use the regular typed password on the login screen, but says that it is invalid. Seems that he changed something on a few accounts because two out of the three users are blocked including the ID of the administrator.

Any solution on how to undo the restore I just did, or how to circumvent the obligation for the typed in login/passwrod update?

There are recovery disks (Neosmart) Vists to do a startup repair, and that's all.

And there are vista recovery disc to factory settings you get from the manufacturer of the computer.
You say that yours came with it.

We don't know what you have.

Ask your computer for problems manufacturer using their recovery disk.
This isn't their recovery process, Microsoft.

How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

    Thanks for posting this...

The driver works for me on a 8570p here, although I had to foce it a little...

I've upgraded an install of Windows 7 (not original) to Windows 10 and decided to try the new build-in OS support sensor. On Win7 I didn't use it because you have to installed the HP tools and it was more bloating, so I'm comfortable with... of course the problem is to get the drivers... Windows seems to have installed a driver that is over 2 years old and seems not even compatible with the OS API footprint. I'm not entirely sure if Win10 is the same as using Win7, but in any case, updating the driver did not find a newer version which is compatible with the BONES of characteristic fingerprints.

I downloaded and installed the version that lucadebe posted (link removed for error in the link). (Note that the Setup program seems to disappear all of a sudden, it's normal I think, there is no that add the driver of windows, it does not actually update the device).

I rebooted, but unlike others that wasn't enough in my case. The reason was that the shift driver does not actually list the VFS491 as a compatible sensor...

So basically, I had 2 options:

    1. use the driver (from lenovo) published by the creator of the thread that is accredited as a Win10 compatible, but do not officially support my sensor.

    2. use an old (but still relatively recent; a few months old) driver (from lenovo) that supports my sensor, but is not certified as compatible Win10. There are several versions to choose from here, although not RECOGNIZED HP...

The first driver lists the new probe of VFS495 (mine is VFS491), so I thought I could force and see if it works, rather than use a somewhat older driver (Lenovo) are not not as compatible Win10.

I went into the Device Manager and open the properties for the biometric sensor. On the driver tab, I selected "Update driver"-> "Browse local dirvers"-> "Let Me Choose from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.

Then, because the new driver does not actually list my compatible sensor, I had to uncheck "Show compatible hardware".

If you use the provided HP driver it will by default have a driver selected in manufacturere "Validity Sensors, Inc.". They were acquired by Synaptics, so the new driver will be available under "Synaptics PS sensors". I installed in fact a number of more recent drivers, but one displayed above should be included amongst the "Synaptics PS (WBF) (PID = 003d) sensors '." Select it and click next to install...

After installing the new driver, open the Sign In options screen suddenly showed a header additional 'Windows Hello' with a button to add a fingerprint...

So far, works like a charm.

@PeerOne: I would like to get the driver from the HP site with the game of the right driver... IF HP has bothered actually updates driver. As is the case, the only recent drivers for the VFS491 are available through lenovo.  I installed the HP Softpaq Manager... While the application itself got an update for Win10, only "driver" always updated through it is the BIOS. Everything else is old...

I find it particularly disappointing because they are generic drivers provided by Synaptics... manufacturers have simply repackage the... but even that is too much effort, it would seem.

Also, considering windows 7 can switch itself to windows 10 in place, there will be many people who will need drivers compatible win10...

It has saddened my we rely on another manufacturer provide us drivers for HP products... Lenovo is always provide drivers for laptops that are older than mine, even drivers for newer operating systems...

Will be probably considered as when we need to replace our phones current...

    Hello

  • Fingerprint reader - Windows 8 - HP Pavilion DV7 connects not

Have searched high and low for a solution to my problem to scan fingerprint - tried instructions on many site without solution.

    Please help-

    I have a HP DV7-6c27cl (Pavilion) - purchased 11/2012.

Updated from 8 to 64-bit Windows to purchase and fingerprint scanner quit job with TrueVision HD webcam.  HP driver update for webcam works perfectly - running.

Software HP SimplePass is responsible for the current 5.20.233a (DigitalPersona) version.

East went to HP and downloaded the new driver (SP58834) for the fingerprint reader.  We sought their updates using the specific model of this laptop and he gave me this driver up-to-date with.  Software starts but no joy on the drive...

Simple pass still said "the fingerprint reader is not connected.  "Connect to the reader."

Earlier today when trying a number of different patches I had a tap of biometrics in my device manager and another in the Panel... on one of my attempts to find a solution, I deleted these.  Is gone now.

Don't know what to do from here.  It doesn't seem to be any solution on the Web Digital Persona site either.

  • Zbook 15 G2: Zbook 15 G2 - which required software for the connection of fingerprints on Windows 7-64 bit (company)

The problem is quite simple, but the answer seems to be quite elusive.

I have a new Zbook 15 G2.  It is a work laptop and they apply a standard image using Windows 7 Enterprise.  Unfortunately, it does not all support for the fingerprint readers by default.  I have admin access so I am allowed to load the appropriate drivers/software

But I can't seem to find the correct drivers.  When I search by serial number I get the driver of fingerprints of validity, but it doesn't seem to be a specific software for the use of the connection for Windows 7.  I had several years ago, under the old HP of ProtectTools.  Now, I also see references to Client Security Manager and SimplePass (the latter being the most recent according to a table).  I installed SimplePass but he doesn't seem to see the fingerprint reader (or it is not optional).  Device Manager shows the fingerprint under Biomentrics reader and shows it works normally.

Can someone clarify the situation exactly WHAT must be loaded on the assumption of a new installation of Windows 7?  I can take it from there I think, but without a list looks a bit like a crap-shoot to get the right software installed in order to support.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello:

It has always been my experience that workstations and laptops professional use security software to protect the tools which has now been replaced by the customer Security Manager software on the newer models like yours.

Consumer class specifications use the security software simple past.

So, if you have installed the validity fingerprint driver, my recommendation would be to install the last client security manager software to register your fingerprint.

    Hey Midsyork,

Looks like you run Digital Persona SimplePass flavor.

Two things to try, in order:

    • Hard reset
    • Remove and reinstall the validity sensor driver

    Hard Reset:

Sometimes, all you need to do is the computer suddenly.  This method works for a variety of connection and "glued" program issues.

    • Disconnect all the external devices first.
    • Remove the AC power and battery
    • Press and hold the power button while in the minus 30 seconds
    • Reinstall the power supply for the first start only * see Note
    • Power on - connect
    • Next time you shut down the system, replace the battery.

    * Note: You can ignore the little battery aside.  If you wish, replace the battery the first time and do it with her.

    Check the software...

If it still does not work, go ahead.

    • Control Panel > Device Manager > biometric devices > Validity Sensor > uninstall > delete
    • Reboot ...

    Validity Sensor V2.1.0.2

    • Install the validitysensorDriverinstallationpackage: it if called sp*.exe - the package will be most likely located in the downloads folder.  If you have control of "Admin", you can highlight the package and "double-click on ' to install it, otherwise just right-click, select"Run as Administrator"and install.

This can kick things hard enough to restore the Digital Persona software.  You can hit him harder, but first...

    ======================================================================================

    What about the rest...

You could consider running a full system scan.  I'm a demon for this.  I like a healthy file system.  It cannot solve the problem, but it will ensure that the issue is not a messed up system files, which CAN cause all sorts of unpleasant and troubled issues.  You do not really have to 'look' like a mother hen during analysis, look at the logs or 'DO' something.  He's going to take care of yourself and try to fix what it can.  The only time where that must involve it is things do not go well...  Is there a doc to help at the end to tell you what does this thing.  It is not harmful and, unless your system is broken, and it's going to die anyway, it will only make things better than they are now.

    scannow SFC

Analyze and fix the system.  The sfc/scannow command. who will do - it will scan the operating system, looking for corrupted files and inconsistencies; He will replace or repair everything he can.  If it finds corrupted programs or libraries, it will try to correct them.

    • Start menu > all programs > Accessories > right click on guest > select ' run as administrator'
    • In the command prompt window, type (or copy / paste) sfc/scannow , and then press enter.

(Note the space between sfc and the ' / '.)

The sfc scan will report its findings and you can look at the results:

    • Open an command prompt (it doesn't have to be as an administrator):
    • Use the command copy to create a copy of file readable by the output:

    %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log copy %userprofile%\desktop\cbs.txt

If "scannow" does not properly complete, try running:

    SFC /verifyonly

Copy the results to a text file, extract the output file in Notepad and look for errors that could not fix the full scan.

Help file for the System FIsland Checker command:

The Windows Vista or Windows 7 System File Checker tool
