All I can do is to stop and restart using the power button. I tried to reinstall the operating system, I deleted the extensions - such as Flash, adblocker, etc., empty the cache, all to nothing does not. My other browsers, Chrome and Firefox work fine. Any ideas? Thank you

• IdeaPad Z575 - Webcam freezes computer

Hello

We recently bought a Z575. When we had first, he had a lot on her factory default software and we used Skype with a webcam integrated without any problems. Then my nephew made a "tune up" and also ended up uninstalling a lot of the factory and the Lenovo software and uninstalling the webcam, without knowing it, we used Skype!

After you have reinstalled the driver, Skype and many other things, we now have a serious problem: every time we activate the built-in webcam to try to post a picture of it, the computer will freeze / lock-up. And it doesn't seem to matter in this program we use: Skype, YouCam, or any other third party software. If he tries to use the webcam, the computer hangs and must be hard-started using the power button. The confusion, it's that everything worked fine before that software and drivers got uninstalled!

Event logs does not provide guidance on what goes wrong; There is no material errors; Device Manager indicates that everything is "working properly" and I tried a variety of genertic, default and special drivers for the webcam - nothing seems to do the job.

I'm pretty computer, and I must say I am puzzled. Can anyone help?

We do not have an external webcam to test, in case you're wondering.

Well, so much for all the help of people here.

Reformatted, installed all the drivers, then the camera driver and the modified software. Works fine now.

• Chess Titans freezes computer with Windows 7

Upgrade to new computer from Windows Vista to Windows 7 and everything seems to work fine except the game Chess Titans in the beam of Microsoft games. When you run this game, the display shows the program splash screen and then displays a black screen in and out; and freezes the computer how far I have to restart. It actaully has worked well when I had Windows Vista, it just started to have problems of the the intall of Windows 7. Also I don't have the most current version of Directx 11. I would really apreciate if someone can give me input on how to solve this problem.

Hi Swinget,

After the upgrade to Windows 7, I recommend you update the drivers for the graphics card, this could be a problem with drivers for the graphics card, follow these steps to update the drivers:

1. click on Start.
2. enter Device Manager to launch the search.
3. expand display adapter in the Device Manager window.
4. right click on the device.
5. click on Properties.
6. click on Driver tab.
7. click on update drivers.
8. click on OK.

Check if the exclamation points are displayed with the device. The exclamation point indicates a problem with the installed driver.

See the link for update drivers: update a hardware driver that is not working properly: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work properly

Even if the update of drivers does not help, I would say that uninstall you and reinstall the Windows feature set could solve the problem.
1. click on Start.
2. type Optionalfeatures.exe search.
3. click on the symbol + for games for Windows features.
4. uncheck the Chess Titans.
5. click on OK.
6. now restart the computer.
7. follow step 1 to 3 of the .
8. put a checkmark for Chess Titans.
9. click on OK.

Give it a try with the above steps and check if you are able to play the game without freeze him more.

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

(a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

(b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

(c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

(d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

Any ideas on how I would go about fixing this problem. I have a Dell XPS M1530 and I'm running a Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit. If you would like more information to help, let me know and I will provide you :)

Hello

• Have you received an error message?
• How long you have been faced with the question?
• What were the changes made before the problem occurred?

I recommend you perform the clean boot.

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

• Updates Windows installation freezes computer

Hello. I don't know if this question is familiar with anyone, but I saw a close incident of it. But as of March 26, 2011, my computer began to freeze in minutes, whenever the update of windows runs. I have troubleshooted by stopping the process of difference in msconfig and it's only when I put the windows update to run at startup of my computer screen would be blocked and I can not access explore or other programs. There is no blue screen or black screen and the movements of mice after the question starts but then it freezes as well and I do a forced shut down using the power button. I have since blocked from running, windows updater but y at - it a fix for this problem? I use Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 on a laptop ASUS Kj50i.

[1] I have been using mechanic registry for probably over 5 years and never a problem. It is the only registry cleaner I use. I'm not sure a backup of changes...

[2] installing Firefox has a default installation upgrade... Since the fix earlier it was not an accident...

A1. You had the back-ups or you don't.

A2. However, the fact that put up-to-date installed and the history of the update is not a good sign. That being said, this gives a shot...

• Symantec deleted from the registry and now my often freezing computer

I recently deleted my Vista registry Symantec because the uninstall feature wouldn't let me uninstall it. After rebooting my computer, it worked fine... for 5 minutes. Within an hour, he froze 4 times. How can I stop my computer from freezing?

You can also use the restoration of the system to a point before you uninstalled Norton Product (especially if you have changed the registry). Do you know when this problem started (when you uninstalled it)? Try a system restore to a point in time before the problem started (give him room to manoeuvre a little if you can). Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/. Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points. If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two. NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.

THEN use the Norton removal tool posted above by Michael Murphy to uninstall Norton product correctly. I suspect that this works very well and you won't have any trouble you are experiencing now. This can solve the problem without causing other problems or necessary steps (such as the need to do a scan CFS or more, a repair/upgrade re-installation of the system). Of course, you can run the SFC program if you want to check your file system corrupt system and perhaps correct if any exist - it's a good thing to do from time to time.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

• Photoshop & Illustrator CC 2015 freezing computer at the opening

I just set up a monthly subscription (student) for more creative cloud, and after installation as well Photoshop and Illustrator cause my computer to freeze when they are open. My computer is a Dell Alienware 18, is 2 years old and has the following specifications:

Speccy Info.JPG

I checked and my graphics card (nvidia geforce 700 series) seems to have been tested and approved by Adobe, but I initially received the following error message:

Photoshop CC Error Message.JPG

I tried every solution workaround mentioned in web pages troubleshooting, all to nothing does not. Either by the way, I also version CS6 of Photoshop and Illustrator, and they both work perfectly. I have to hard restart my computer everytime I try to launch programs of theses. I tested also with all the equipment and found no problems. If the CC versions are not compatible with my computer, I'll be forced to cancel my subscription. Any help would be appreciated gratefully.

Best regards, John

Good news! The latest updates for both programs has solved my problems.

• CD burner freezes computer

I have a Dimension E521 with Windows Vista and a CD burner that works very well for a year, but now it suddenly freezes my computer when I put a CD that has already documents or pictures on it. I put in a blank CD and the Dimension he reformatted and I can burn my documents to it, but I can't put in the same CD a few minutes later without him totally freezing the computer. Can someone tell me what is happening? The only thing I can think of that is different between working and nonworking CD is I downloaded (and uninstalled since) Adobe Flash Player 9.0.

• Cc of Photoshop keeps freezing computer

So I just got Photoshop CC and my computer seems to have a lot of trouble, just the race for more than 2 minutes. I tried to lower the ram it uses, disable the gpu and changed "scratch disks" to see if that would do anything, but it doesn't seem to work. I check my graphics card and it said its updated. I updated my computer also and it still does not work. I saw someone say to try to reset the preferences and that seems to work for like a minute, and then it would freeze again. It is so bad to the point where I can't even do ctrl + alt + delete to get to the Task Manager or right click on the taskbar and clicking Start Task Manager.

My physical characteristics are:

Windows 7

Intel Core i7 - 2600 K @ 3.40 Hz CPU

16.0 GB of ram

64-bit operating system

AMD radeon hd 7700 series

Any help would be great. Every time I tried to do a different test, it freezes and I had to do a hard reboot every time. I don't even get a blue screen of death, everything stops.

So I was able to understand that if I checked all the hard drives to be used as a scratch disk that it actually works very well now. I have 4 hard drives I have used, and everything is very smooth. I opened documents, rearranged, panels, etc. There is no slowdown whatsoever.
