Full Screen anti-aliasing

Well, today I have a question about disabling Full Screen anti-aliasing.  I installed Windows 7 on my Windows Vista OS in October when Windows 7 is released in stores.  I had a few games installed on my PC before upgrade me to Windows 7, but since I tried to install any game on my PC now that it works on Windows 7, the game will not play either or he advises me to disable the Full Screen anti-aliasing to play the games that I install.  The thing is, I don't know where to go to turn off Full Screen anti-aliasing.  I hope that it is in fact the resolution to resolve this issue.  Otherwise I won't be able to play the games that I like on my PC. Help me with this problem please.

As a work-around to try to reduce accerelation of hardware on the computer and check.

Here are a few steps to try following these steps and check:

1. right click on the desktop and click on personalize.
2. click display settings, and then click Advanced settings.
3. click on the Troubleshooting tab, and then click on change settings.
4 move the notches on both hardware acceleration slider to the left.
5. click OK and then click Restart now.
6. once the computer has restarted, test the game.

It will be useful.

  • Problem with refresh PDFKit full screen

I do a lot of presentations in PDF format (they are usually created with LaTeX, but I as explained below, this detail has nothing to do with the problem).

Very often a slide appears in increments - think of several chips which are revealed one by one.

What is really happening, is that each step is a separate page, but the user should not notice it.

So if you have a bulleted list

    •A

    •B

    •THIS

There are really three separate pages (one that contains just A, an and B and a with A, B, C).

When you advance to the next overlay, it seems that a and B has been added to the screen, and then a C (even if every time an entire page is replaced by the next).

In the Sierra this screen refresh is not smooth and the public can clearly see the screen "shaking."

I tested it on two machines. I did a test of the Keynote presentation, which looks great; and then did the same with the PDF version and it is fragile. It was regardless of what program I used to view (Preview, Skim, TeXShop), which indicates that the problem is in the common framework, they use all - PDFKit.

I already submitted comments to Apple, but I'd like to hear if people also see this; just to make sure that it is not something weird on my machines.

Yes, I confirm this. It seems that PDFKit "re-focuces" fonts whenever we turn the page. While this might be great for static pages (best font anti-aliasing) is certainly a problem for presentations: you can clearly see the fonts from blurry to sharp in the slides with incremental changes. That's all just awful. On the other hand, PDFKit is not smooth images embedded in pdf files in the Sierra at all: those with straight lines will look on-screen civet. Once again, all just awful. Bad bad, Apple!

  • Freeze YouTube videos in full screen with Firefox, but not other browsers.

I had a hard time watching YouTube videos in Firefox in recent weeks. Basically, the video does not start and if I keep using small video player it works fine. But if I click on full screen, the video stops for a few seconds, then catch up and repeat this operation until the end of the video. However the sound plays always continuously throughout the video, even though the image is frozen. I don't have this problem in Internet Explorer or Google Chrome, and it only happens on one of the three computers that I use Firefox on. I ran Malwarebytes Anti Malware, Kaspersky Internet Security, and Windows Defender full scans, so I'm fairly certain that it is not malware or a virus that is causing the problem.
I also tried the following without result: reset Firefox, Firefox run in SafeMode with no addons, reinstalling Firefox (more an another clean reinstall), reinstall Flash player

I can't understand what is wrong, and Firefox is my favorite browser, so any help would be appreciated.

Before restarting my OS in safe mode, I checked to see if I still had the problem and now he is gone magically. I did no change at all since yesterday when it was not working properly and now it's fine. Kind of strange. anyway thanks for your help, that's why I love Mozilla so.

  • View full-screen media back to the small window after 20-30 minutes of play. WMP - 11, Classic, VLC, all media players.

Did you recently clean reinstall of the operating system, no malware present, all drivers up to date, no media questions before you reinstall, now, when playing video files in any format, on any media player, full-screen doesn't "stick", but she climbs to view more small window for no apparent reason.  I tried to temporarily turn off anything that might interfere: malware apps, anti-virus, auto updaters, etc., even all the processes which seemed sure to stop temporarily, but after about 20 to 30 minutes to play any video format (mpeg4, avi, DVD disc, etc., full screen will jump to the small window for no apparent reason. When the problem persisted I even downloaded fresh copies of WMP 11, WMP Classic and VLC, but no joy, screen size change continues to happen with all the players, all types of video files. I'm out of ideas. What could possibly be the cause?

[XP Home Edition, Service Pack 3, Intel 2.5 gHz, 1 GB Ram, 80 Gb HDD, SiS 661FX/GX Mirage Graphics... Yes, old, I know, but it worked well for me so far.]

Thank you for your response. I tried your suggestions but they do not solve the problem.  You did, however, lead me to looking at my system settings instead of the settings for the media players - behavior was going on with WMP 11, Media Player Classic and VLC.  I found that, I hope, will prove to be the solution: in Device Manager > Sound, video & Game Controllers > media Remotes > properties I found my video controller (mciavi32.dll) opened its properties > settings > watch the video of 'window' or 'full screen '.  I selected "full screen" and for extra measure of value WMP 11 always open it in full screen. I have not done a test yet further with these three players, but I hope that these parameters will cure the problem. Oh yes, I went to SiS, I already had the latest display driver, but I have downloaded/installed a new copy anyway, just to be certain that my old one was not corrupted in a non-obvious way.

Again, thank you for your help.

  • Windows 8 and anti-aliasing of fonts

    Hello!

This is my first post in the Microsoft community.
I'm a big fan of this company, and that I usually use their products in my studies, work, mail... etc.
I've used Windows since XP, and I'm very happy with the last windows8.
Windows 8 is much more fluid and more "BOLD", I love it!
There's only one small problem, but it's really important me: font smoothing.
I started using Ubuntu lately in my brother's laptop, and I was completely impressed by the display of fonts on it.
It seems bigger, more professional and more :-)
The police is 'acceptable' on windows only when it is greater than 50px.
I see an evolution on this way on IE for ie9, but it certainly not the same as Ubuntu
Can they take this thinking in mind when working with blue windows, or they will ignore it and continue with the fonts as 15years ago...

    Hello!

I would like to offer a way to adjust your font smoothing.  To account for many types of LCD monitors and different types of pixels, Windows has adjustments to the police of smoothing method it uses.  It is possible that an optimal method of inferiority is currently used.  Here is how to adjust it:
    1. Open your startup screen and type the word "clear" (search results appear when you start typing).
    2. Select the category of settings on the right, then click on the result of research called "adjust ClearType text' to start the ClearType text.
    3. Click next in the wizard and then step through the calibration.  At each stage, you will be asked to click on the text that is best for you.  This will allow Windows to use better anti-aliasing of fonts for your system and your preference.
  • Icon anti-aliasing problem

    Howdy all

I'm trying to edit vector files to icons of vector shapes with a black fill with a transparent background. I managed. However, large icons, when reduced to 64 x 64 or 48 x 48 who have anti-aliasing have pixels that are white or light color that doesn't look great on background dark or gradient, where I want to place them.

I guess I could reproduce the background then drop forms. Whenever I have downsize, pixels have a light shade of gray, whatever the origin.

Does anyone have experience with this problem? I guess I could downsize without anti-aliasing that would be better than having a variable light contour!

    Thank you

    Doug

Does this mean that all icon sets that still exist must be twisted hand based on the background that they are intended?

Yes, most are and no doubt you'll agree you can always such good ogical of bad ones that have not been refined. Yet, there is no need to create different sets for different background colors. The common consensus on the older types of pallet-based icon like you create them set them against black and make sure that the transparent color is set evenly. The specific format will depend on your target platform, in any case. Windows Vista and Win 7 can scale life the large icon formats to smaller sizes and solitary wil resort to the smalelr versions, if they are incorporated in the icon resource. They also support full 24 bit png with transparency. Other operating systems will use png 8-bit or dedicated icon file formats. Mobile devices use png and SVG... So it's really not a whole answer here. You can of course reduce the size without interpolation using the method of nearby neearest, Botr, it can do more damage than good. A better workflow would be to downsize conventioanlly, then convert to indexed color and unify the colors that have been stripped...

  • Which past now and not days ago = > publication of text captions with anti-aliasing off the coast looking for really bad.

I reported the bellows of text and I'd like to know if it happens to someone else.

    Concise problem statement:

When you publish buttons with text or text with antialiasing off the coast, the result is very bad.

Last project I cancelled 2 months ago and it seems good. But when I did a few changes yesterday and I published it again all the buttons and links that they looked very bad.

I tried with different computers, where they have installed captivate and I have reproduced the bug how I show below and in any place of same problem.

I can't show the client the changes because the evil look textfields.

I tried to reinstall all the options, Captivate and install older versions of flash and nothing plugin, everything looks the same. Probably a windows update may cause the problem, I don't know.

    Steps to reproduce the bug:
    1. black background or dark color
    2. create the button and select Properties
    3. Select the text color color yellow or clear, size of large font (24-30) and transparent background
    4 publish

Results: no text no embattled arround White halo, eat as the text. The part of the text is a bit fuzzy.

Resemble the translucent color part of the text to produce somehow anti-aliasing is white in color.

Expected results: the net image as html on browser text.

    Hi again

    Well, it give a try.

Minimize all applications that you can see the desktop.

Right click on the desktop, then select Properties.

    Click the appearance tab.

    Click on the effects button.

You see an option called use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts?

If so, disable the option and click OK.

Report back if you still have this option and, if so, if you erase it helps.

    See you soon... Rick

  • Anti-aliasing of fonts not embedded

I read that Flash Player 10 introduced a new text engine that provides anti-aliasing of device fonts, or fonts that are not incorporated.  How can I take advantage of this in Flex?  I have Flex Builder 3.0.214193.  The documentation says I should use built-in fonts to get anti-aliasing.  And indeed, if I do not incorporate fonts, I certainly don't get any anti-aliasing.

    Thanks in advance!

None of the Flex 3.x components can use this feature.  You can put your own text on screen using flash.text.engine classes, if you want.  Flex 4 components will be able to do.

  • macOS Sierra - auto restart when you watch in full screen youtube videos

After the upgrade, El Capitan for macOS Sierra, whenever I try to Watch youtube videos or videos online on full screen, the computer just automatically restarts itself, why? Anyone with a similar problem?

I have the same problem. Goes directly to the display of connection and after I log in, all applications to restart.

  • iMAC OS 10.12 unable full screen

Installed OS 10.12 two days ago. Whenever I try to go full screen with an application, the screen goes to the screen of "sigh in" computer. I have to enter my password of the computer and the screen goes back to where I was earlier. I restarted my iMAC without help. Same thing happens with Safari and several applications. 16 GB, 1 TB with 999 GB available storage memory.

    Hello Radaniel2,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I see that you have problems when you access mode full screen in several applications. Start by booting your iMac in safe mode. If you are unsure how to do this, see this article: try safe mode if your Mac does not start while this article addresses in safe mode to startup problems, it can also isolate the problem you are experiencing.

    Best regards.

  • Full screen does not work after upgrade; OSX hangs

Immediately after the upgrade later El Capitan in Sierra, full function display has stopped working at the end of a disastrous. Not only can I not enter or exit the mode full screen on any application (Safari, iBooks, Terminal, etc.), but in addition, I can't event begin any application which was mode full screen before upgrade (essentially all other applications that I use on my mac). Nor can I drag-finger-three to any application full screen. OSX just hangs and displays the login screen as it has not started.

Indeed, my mac is useless now, I can't do anything with it. I tried to restart the PRAM, has tried to repair my disk, tried various 'normal' things, which none worked. Can someone help me with this?

    Hello konkere,.
Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

If I understand your message that after upgrade to macOS Sierra as your MacBook Pro doesn't work well for you. I know how it is important for your MacBook Pro to be in place and functional after the software update. Reset the PRAM and repair the disk are key steps in troubleshooting. I also recommend reinstall macOS Sierra of OS X Recovery.

    How to reinstall OS X

OS X can be installed on the same version or an earlier version of Mac OS X, without deleting your data. You don't need to remove or disable the existing system first.

    1. Start of OS X Recovery now command-r immediately after start-up or that you restart your Mac. Release the keys when you see the Apple logo. Start-up is finished when you see the OS X Utilities window.
    2. If you do not want to wipe your drive before reinstalling OS X, open utility disk in OS X Utilities window, then use disk utility to erase the drive. Quit disk utility when done.
Erase the disc is not necessary unless you're your Mac transfer to a new owner, partitioning your drive for use with Boot Camp, or attempt to solve a problem this as disk utility can't repair.
    3. Choose to reinstall OS X OS X Utilities window, and then follow the instructions on the screen.
This installs the latest version of Mac OS X, which has already been installed on your Mac.

    Best regards.

  • split mode will just in full screen?

I just upgraded to El Capitan - partly to take advantage of the split view.   When I hold the cursor on the green button with arrows of the window just goes full screen (fill page).   I read some support and went to Mission Control and checked the box on "screens have separated spaces."   And I opened a session and having done this.  There is no change.   I still can't get it to work in split view.   The same thing is happening: doc moves to full screen.

You need to click and the green button until the screen turns blue on one side and then release the mouse button. Then click on the second app that you want to fill the other hald of the screen.

Use both Mac applications side by side in split view - Apple Support

I did another post on this topic, but the solution was only a few days. I erase the data from the Web site: Safari preferences > privacy > remove data from the Web site. (solution for a few days) y at - it something wrong with my software? Material? material, not because I did the verification of hardware (d before the ringtone to start command) and I know that I have no error with my flash drive. So what is the problem? OS X? also is it normal for a macbook to erase data to the Web site every day?

  • opening window for Safari is small box.  When I enlarge to full screen there is no option to reduce to a minimum.

This has changed since the window full screen all of a sudden and I can't find anything in the settings or preference to retrieve.

Position your pointer at the top of the screen and menu bars will appear. Click on the green button of Safari to exit full-screen.
