  HP g62-347NR

  I just bought a g62-347NR and try to level the best I can. So far, I've upgraded to 6 GB of ram. Only other thing I can think of the upgrade is the CPU, but I can't find the details it if its possible to do or any details on the motherboard. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

• G62 Touchpad lock stuck

  When I use the touchpad on the laptop lock feature (the little orange button at the top left of the touchpad) I can't unlock. It's something that only started happening recently, not that I use it all that often, but I know at the end of may, it worked. Don't know if it was an update I did or what, but I need this feature.

  OK, after spending the last hour on the phone with tech support. Here's what we were doing this corrects the problem.

  1) updated the driver from HP. (I had already done that, but we did it again).

  2) updated the BIOS F.07 to e.17 using the download on the HP website.

  After that, a message box pops up saying that the keyboard and pointing devices errors had been restated. After a reboot, everything worked as usual again.

• HP G62 layout problem

  I have a laptop G62-347NR which does not go beyond the 'starting windows' screen I tried both the sytem recovery and the ability to solve the problem. Both screens lead to a background of windows with nothing appear. I tried a test and it said "disk 1 hardrive error" or something similar. Is it possible to have started working again?

  BTW I'm not totally tech savvy to get detailed instructions are really appreciated.

• Ethernet RJ-45 for Pavilion laptop connector must be replaced

  I have a Pavilion Notebook, which has broken into the RJ-45 socket (Ethernet) contact.  I need to replace it and can't find the spare part.  Hoping that this is just a simple removal and replacement operation and the jury is only in layers.  I should be able to handle this.  I don't want to remove until I have to order the part.  Any suggestions on where I can find the part?

  Thanks, just what I thought...  Too bad, they do it.  At the same time I tried to load Linux on this laptop, and almost everything is a patented device, so I gave up on it.

  I'll check with my wife and see how much she wants to hang on it.

• HP - g62: bios set up locked

  Hello! I have a laptop hp - g62 and my BIOS set up has been locked after I entered 3 wrong passwords. the key is 73251517. Please help me it unlocked.

  Steps to follow:
  1. use the posted above unlock code to access the BIOS
  2 disable all passwords that are enabled
  3. If the request for current password - enter the unlock code
  4. for the new password, simply press the ENTER key
  5. repeat the same thing to check the password column.
  6. then exit the BIOS saving & output option to save the changes.
  
  Troubleshooting:
  Incase if the password does not work please try a Hard Reset as follows.
  
  1. power off the laptop
  
  2 disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery
  
  3 hold the Power button for 30 seconds
  
  4. connect the power supply/AC adapter (leave the battery at the moment) and start Notepad
  
  5. If now see you a password, please enter the same password I've shared before and press on enter

  I understand that when you start your laptop, you get a black screen with no error message, but you see the flashing lock light.

  I have a HP G62 - 229WM Notebook PC that will not start.  It is consumed, but black on screen.  I have a fixed light at the power button / stop and the caps lock has a flashing regular, only 1 in the series.  I replaced the processor and still have the same question.  Is it the motherboard?

  Sorry, but it doesn't seem to be the motherboard. I've seen other posters have the same processor Flash error but no luck when his replacement. I think that it can actually be a bad cpu socket causing the blink code.

  Try a hard reset as follows:

  Remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
  Press and hold the power button for more than 15 seconds.
  Plug the DC power adapter (leave the battery for now)
  Press the power button

  I have a HP G62-355DX PC and the battery will not move.  If you have the means to solve this problem, I would be really grateful.

  I had this happen once. I took a knife with a thin blade and carefully worked along the edge looks a little at time until what he let go. Work slowly to avoid damaging the case and / latch. Worked for me. Good luck!
