  I have a HP Pavilion g7. It's a little more than 3 years now. The product number is XV343AV and the model number is g7t-1000.   You can replace just the fan, but you must remove the Fan/Heatsink unit. It's pretty obvious, how once you get the device from the laptop. The radiator is a piece of metal and really can't fail. The fan is the part that fails. When you put everything back together make sure to use good thermal paste applied sparingly and properly.

The cooling fan seems to be playing it just started, the high efficiency of speed and barely making a noise before cutting again, it does until finally the laptop overheats and shuts down, which gives the error message on loadup, that there is a problem with the fan. So, I tried to take part my laptop and cleaning on the openings of ventilation and inside the turbine, which I did, and reassembling it and still no change. Will it get a new fan? My warranty is exceeded so get it fixed is not a viable option for me, not a cheap option at least.

  Please go to start and Panel and Windows updates

  On the top left click on change settings update.

  Switch to never look for updates,

  

  

  After the above, restart your machine.

  After reboot see if these updates are installed if not install it.

  F30 is a little older series laptop I think about 3 years or more... you cleaned the cooling modules in the meantime?
  I think there is a lot of dust and debris inside the laptop and I think that keeps air from traffic and therefore fans run faster.
  Try the compressed air jet that should help to remove dust and debris.

  I own TOSHIBA Satellite A660 - 10 X
  the problem is that fan will slow (when the laptop starts its goes much faster that slowing it down). Problem is that the laptop is overheating and that it stops without any warning. I'm working on it and must be reliable.

  I tried the power management but there are only "optimized batery' or 'up', but at least it won't max for sure.

  Is it possible to check the speed of the fan? I tried several aplications to see fan speed but they do not work.

  And I never found fan in BIOS.

  Please don t understand me wrong but acitivy fan will be controlled automatically and is based on the CPU temperature. Still, the fan will start if the CPU is running on a high temperature to protect the equipment. So it of normal.

  Ive recently bought toshiba satellite a660 11 m, its great, but his fans are very noisy even when im doing nothing (zero open applications)
  When I open the toshiba pc health monitor he always says temp: 50 c on avrg and fans * always * on 68 to 70%. (now when im typing this fans are at 68% and only google chrome opens sometimes it looks like his office, no cell phone)
  Note that laptops is 3 weeks old, so I doubt there is any dust in the cooling system.

My a500 is also great noise even I tried upgrading the Bios, play with power settings, cleaning of cooling system. fan control utility like speedfan and many other things but still... I just don't pay attention to the noise of the fan. You can reduce the noise loading the Cpu with some applications so that the fan continues to constantly operate at 54% with a less noticeable noise.

  I put t really believe that there are many options to do better. Of course if you use a USB device, the CPU usage goes over the limit of use and produce more heat.

  Try to check all the processes running and finish a useless manually.

  The laptop needs to be cleaned every 3-4 months and I do this every 3 months. Whenever I do I m wondering how much dust out and after this procedure the portable is a lot cooler.
