Graphics cards (what will work?-Minimum to run CS6)

Hello

The community has been very helpful so far, thank you!

I'm looking for purchase first CS6 and run it on a computer with a processor AMD Phenom II 6 with 8 GB of ram. The video card is a Radeon 2 gig model, not on the list supported for graphics acceleration. It'll work at all, or do I need to have a new graphics card (I don't like on the GPU acceleration)? The rest of my configuration meets or exceeds the minimum requirements.

Keep in mind that I don't do much in the way any type of newsreel of the effects etc., shoots and interviews for my portfolio. CS6 is the only version available in my school at a discount and will be going to the service cloud in may, so I want to act now and get a copy to use in the coming years.

Thank you

CM

Your system should work OK but will modify you half-resolution instead of the full resolution when you use AVCHD. You can watch the video link. An i7 and inexpensive GT 640 would work well for editing native AVCHD but a GTX 650 it would be even better.

Two of these GPUS are somewhat unbalanced with a processor i7, mainly due to their relatively low graphics memory bandwidth: 28.5 Gbps and 86.4 GB/s, respectively. However, there is a new version of the GTX 650 it which just introduced: the GTX 650 it Boost (make sure that it says specifically "push" after the "GTX 650 Ti"). This GPU has the same 768 hearts CUDA as the regular GTX 650 Ti, but with a lot more bandwidth memory (144 GB/s against 86.4 GB/s).

You are incorrect about the GTX 650 it. It can read several layers of matttes of track using native AVCHD in full resolution. The GPU GTX 650 it is infact a bottleneck by the CPU. The i7 will choke and 100% after four layers of native AVCHD. The GPU GTX 650 TI could easily reproduce only 8 PIPs provided native AVCHD i7 CPU can decode as many layers, but it may not. Don't forget that the original poster of this thread won't do a lot of fancy effects. As the GT 640 might be a better buy based on the users needs. I agree the GTX 650 it boost would be peform better than the standard GTX 650 it but the i7 would be the neck of the bottle not GTX 650 it. I just wanted to correct Miss information.

    Supaman4040, welcome to the forum.

I think that your problem is related to the BIOS.  The 700 series video cards require UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI in its motherboards up to mid-October 2012.  Your computer was released January 25, 2012.  You must contact the card manufacturer to see if they have a VBIOS update which will allow the card to work with your computer.

    Hi there @murray62east,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome! It is an excellent site to find answers and ask questions. I understand that you are curious about a replacement of a graphics card.

Unfortunately the graphics cards are not replaceable on laptop HP Pavilion dv2000. They are directly attached to the motherboard. The only way to replace a graphics card would be to replace the entire motherboard.

Hope that I have answered your question.

  • What is the cheapest video card that will work in a Dell Studio XPS 8100?

Map of 5770 in my Studio XPS 8100 seems to be dying.  The screen keeps have corrupted and I can't do anything until I restart, then it happens after a few minutes.  I have a corsair cx430 power supply installed.

This machine is my server machine, so I only need to make a minimum of working directly on the machine.

I think I should just replace the video card.  What is the cheapest video card / lowest which will work in my 8100?

    Hello:

I think the GT 610 works perfectly in your PC.

I'd go with this as the form of State that it has a 128-bit memory interface.

This will be a more powerful card on one with a 64-bit memory interface.

  • Recommendation for the new graphic card for the Pavilion a1250n Office running windows xp service pack 3

trying to upgarde my pavilion a1250n computer of office for graphics card MSI r5450 radeon. After installation of the new card in the PCI express and turn on the machine, does not start, screen goes black and the fans to run at top speed. The card and the machine starts fine with the ATI radeon 200 exprees edge. I went into Device Manager and disabled the ATI radeon 200 adapter, and the system still wouldn't start with the new card. Went into the Bios at startup and changed the setting of the adapter PCI E, the slot where I put the card, and still won't work, even with the Bios and Device Manager changes I made.

New card right out of the box, could be bad, or perhaps not compatible with my system? If is not compatible, what would you recommend? Currently I am running windows XP SP3 and am looking for a card that can be upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit. I know that the ATI integrated graphics card cannot be upgraded, so I'd appreciate some advice really.

  • HP Pavilion 15-n057sr: AMD graphics card does not work on windows 10

    Hello!

I have an AMD graphics card in my laptop, but there is no drivers for windows 10 forher.

Installation driver Windows 8.1, latest drivers from amd or windows has always led to a screen of death, and after him, he appears each time you start. To solve it, I fix it using restore points. So, why hp doesn't have a driver for his own material? I'm looking for a working one?

    Thank you in advance.

OK... so what this means is that, while HP provides two models of this laptop, with pre-installed Win8x and the other with Win10, they have different hardware.  The Win10 version apparently does NOT use the AMD chipset, so HP provides no driver for it.

This means that you're stuck with having upgraded a laptop computer for which there aren't the necessary drivers for HP Win10, and given that HP no longer produces Win10 drivers for older laptops, this situation will not improve over time.

If you want to have all the features on your laptop, you should consider to return to Win8xs - and that the upgrade of Win10 is known to corrupt recovery information HP OEM, the ONLY way to do that is using recovery media HP to restore laptop factory.

Well, here's the deal that I go back to Japan for about 3 months and during this time I will borrow my laptop Cousins (in Exchange for my office) for Skype etc.. As well, when I get back gamer I ~ ('voice of Yoda"aka How Japanese works...)

So I looked on Newegg / Amazon read comments and planned my purchase but the question is can this case and the Board of Directors manage what I use? lazy to measure everything out / busy.

So first thing, I would like to replace:

Replace the 2 x 2 GB ram cards default with:

    4 x Corsair blue Vengeance 4 GB (2 X 4 GB) 1600 mHz PC3-12800 DDR3 SDRAM of 240 pins

For a total of ram 16 GB with my x 64 bit PC of course

Replacing power 250w with an overkill rather one but it is the same price as a 550w then why not eh? After all the future upgrade/ability to use it in future builds?

1 x Corsair Enthusiast Series 650 watts 80 Plus Bronze Certified Power Supply Compatible with Intel Core i3, i5, i7 and AMD platforms

For the graphics card + overclocking.

    1 x EVGA GeForce GTX 580 1536 MB GDDR5 PCI-Express 2.0 2DVI/Mini-HDMI SLI

    Hello

According to Corsair, the DIMMs that you chose is detected only at 1600 mhz, which is not in the specifications published by HP.

You can roll the dice on the DIMMs that you chose, but I wouldn't recommend that buy you them until you contact Corsair and get a confirmation.  Computers HP can be very finicky with DIMMs, especially if you try to mix them with other DIMM modules.  If you do buy these bars and want to be them mixed with the existing DIMMs, then make sure the timings of latency CASE corresponding information validated HP. Also mix DIMM sizes will cause the memory function in unbalanced mode that adversely affect the performance of the memory.

You should be able to make your own decision on whether to roll the dice.

  • Satellite M30X graphics card does not work correctly

The best I can describe the problem is that the display looks like he has a trellis in front of her.
I connected a remote screen I know works fine and the problem is the same, so I'm sure that the problem is not the LCD display itself.
Looks a bit like a screen of matrix of the film of the same name. I also tried to replace the motherboard, but the problem remains.

The laptop itself works very well and always does everything its supposed to but the screen make it practically impossible to read.

    Any ideas?

Unfortunately, it's really not easy to say what could be bad exactly.
Maybe it's a problem of graphics card chip.
According to your description this fault could be possible.

Most of the time it s advisable to ask and laptop for an audit technician. He could run a diagnostic test and could locate the hardware failure more quickly.

Sorry, but that's all I can suggest.

  • Monitor question: is constant ripple read something difficult - if this isn't a problem with my graphics card, what else could he be >

It is difficult to describe. I run XP and later that yesterday to fuel my system, I noticed that the monitor was something different for the first time - the perifrial on my hp2011x monitor field had developed these mirco-wave that makes viewing anything a bit difficult. Thinking that it was temporary, I just moved everything I was working on the center of the screen - which remained essentially stable. After having finished up last night, I turned off.

Today, however, it's another story. Now, the whole screen was made in such a way that everything is now visually corrugated - which seems that ripples are moving up and down in a horizontal jet across the entire screen. And this annoying effect is much more important, making it difficult for the eye to read anything for a long time.

What could be the problem here?
Thinking it might be a problem of monitor, I borrowed a friends monitor - exactly like mine, but the effect continues.
If not, a sign that the graphics card is out, what else could be the problem?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

You think that this problem could be related to the graphics card.

Method 1: You can see the steps mentioned in the article below

Resources for troubleshooting problems in Windows XP
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/307960

Method 2: Start your computer in VGA mode, then check if the display problem persists. To do this, follow the steps mentioned in the link below

Activate the Mode of VGA (Video Graphics Array)
    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_overview.mspx?mfr=true

If the problem persists, you can communicate with the computer or the adpater manufacturer to address this display problem.
