  Why don't you talk and you have a Comcast modem?  You can't receive faxes unless your machine is connected to a regular telephone line.  It was always connected?  It is always connected?

  Normally, the 4500 JO receives the fax.  If you want to receive the fax directly to the computer, you must configure the fax HP special PC software accessed via the "HP Solution Center" application which should be installed when you installed your printer.  Did you do then?

  Assuming that your OfficeJet 4500 is connected to a phone line, if it meets a fax call is a function of the JO 4500 and not Windows.  You may have disabled the function address.  It is also accessible via the HP Solution Center, you can also set up automatically to the control panel of the printer.  See your user's guide.

  Update this post.  I just change the telephone line of the fax to the wall and it works.  The telephone line, I connected is the one that came with the fax.  Never heard of a front faulty telephone line.

• User32.LLB call does not work after compilation

  I am trying to determine if running the LabView program has the focus, and I realized that when I run the program in LabView, but as soon as I compile and try to run the program it freezes and spits out this error.  The program worked end until I added the User32.llb calls.  If anyone has ideas of how to do to solve this problem would be great.

  Make sure you have only user32.dll in the control of 'the library name or path' in the configuration of the node library call and not the entire path to him. Also, make sure you don't end up with a copy of user32.dll in your data inside your built-in application directory folder. All the core Windows dll may not be be copied like who will be upset Windows resources management seriously.

• the fax log is not up-to-date.

  I have a HP Officejet 4500 Desktop which I am running with a Windows XP system.  The fax log is not up-to-date.  How can I get the software to update the journal?  Everything seems to work fine, just does not update the log when faxes are sent or received.

  The software does not control the log of faxes.  The printer's firmware.  If not keep along as it should, there is something glitching in the firmware, or the internal connetion of the newspaper's fax modem has been disrupted.  If the internal connection was cut off, there is nothing that can be done, so let's try everything that can be done for the firmware.  There is no updated firmware for this printer, in order to fix this way came out.  The next thing to try is a couple of resets.  A hard reset first and a partial reset if the hard reset does not fix.

  To do a hard reset:

  1. Make sure that the printer is turned on.
  2. Pull out the power cord from the printer.
  3. Pull out the power cord from the wall.
  4. Wait 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back in the printer and turn it on.

  To make a partial reset:

  1. Follow steps 1-4 for a hard reset, but will not go past step 4.
  2. Plug the power cord into the wall, but connect are not in the printer.
  3. Press and hold the # and 3 buttons.
  4. While now the buttons, plug in the printer.
  5. When the lights come on, release the buttons.

  If reset does not solve the problem, then the connection was cut off, and there is nothing more we can do.

  I have a Satellite A30 here and I can't get the modem to work. I tried to uninstall the drivers and download and run the drivers from the toshiba web site. (mdm-sa30-xp-31116all5 - gb.zip)

  The modem gets versions and automatically installed by Win XP... (He uses the right drivers?)

  When I query the modem, I get the error message:
  "The port that the modem is attatched could not be opened. This could be the result of a hardware conflict. Check the Device Manager to verify that all devices are functional.

  It uses com 1 now it was com3 and com 1 was used next to him. Now he doesn't.

  Can you please tell me what is listed in the phone and modem options in the Modem tab? Normally, the Toshiba software modem is detected to use COM3 port.

  If I understand you right you use portable too for internet connection. Mobile phone should also be which are listed there. Which port to use mobile phone? Have you ever tried to remove all and first of all once again reinstall modem TOSHIBA after mobile phone?
