Hard drive full of reports of errors of AV software uninstalled.

Recent update is a problem with the sound, as in the total lack of it. In the meantime, I improve my Kaspersky IS 2010 AV software, after you have uninstalled Kaspersky 7. Annoyed by his problem, I restore the computer to a restore before installation point, thinking that I can reinstall Kaspersky 2010 thereafter. It follows a constant series of warnings saying my AV software has stopped working, and my hard drive (72GO, with 18 GB of rescue) filled in a few minutes. Best advice?

It is a Kaspersky problem and not a problem of Vista.  You should contact the http://support.kaspersky.com/support or better http://usa.kaspersky.com/support/consumer-contact.php to help with this problem.  They will need your registration number.  We do not know what generates messages or how to stop it (but probably some files remain despite the restoration system - either the new facility prior installation).  There may be a special removal tool to uninstall the product, you need to use to do it properly (because SOMETHING generates messages and it's certainly Kaspersky) - and there is: http://usa.kaspersky.com/support/home/208279463/ (which goes far in explaining the reason of this problem).

Since he filled out your drive with these messages, there is no way to re - install the product (there is apparently no space) to get messages to stop and then it would be a simple matter to locate and delete (or maybe this is not simple stuff – I don't know this particular AV product).  But you can run the removal tool, and perhaps stop messages (assuming that the tool works when the program has already been partially or almost totally uninstalled).  But it is a matter for their tech support people.

In short, you need to talk to Kaspersky to fix this.  If they're doing their thing and there are tasks that are related to Vista and you need some help with that, so feel free to post back and we'll do our best to help (but provide us a summary of what they did and what they said should be done).

Sorry we can not help you more, but it's really a problem to Kaspersky and they need to help you to solve.

    I reinstalled the OS and nothing has changed. I did the diagnostic system and I got an error on the full Test of the hard drive:

  • Hard drive data from the sector error on desktop HP Pavilion magnesium grey Edition p6404y

    I have a HP Pavilion p6404y desktop computer. I uninstalled and reinstalled the HP Support Assistant. When I run the wizard it tells me this - "WDC WD10 EADS-65M2B1 CMSS Disk Device-4 errors in data sectors make unusable sector." He suggested I have a scanner. If I run the quick scan, it ends and shows just as fine. If I run a full scan, it reaches 62% complete (i.e. 99% of the "left foot" criterion) and seems to freeze. I left alone for two hours to get that last percent of this test, then I just give up and cancel, so I was not able to complete a full scan.

    Also, often, when I start my computer first, I get a screen that says: "one of your disks should be checked for consistency.

    Then, he turns his thing and says it is finished and then starts.

    It seems to be very slow all the time, too.

    I also, lately, get a box saying my performance is slow, I want to move from Windows Aero to Windows basic to help performance.

    So I wonder, my hard drive takes a dump, or what? This system is only two years old.

    Thank you!

    Hi techrex, I would say by restarting and pressing F9 to enter the Diagnostics screen and run diagnostics on your HARD drive.  If you get an error I'd say calling HP support to see what they suggest - could be that your HARD drive is on its way.

    If this is the case, immediately save all your work, photos, emails, etc..  Make your recovery DVD (press F11 at startup and have up to 4 ready virgins of DVD quality to make your recovery disks.

    If you need to replace the HARD drive yourself, it will be easy to recover the PC with your recovery discs.

    Remember: use esd protection and always disconnect your PC from the network if you plan to open the chassis and replace the HARD drive or perform another task on your PC, like blowing any dust with a can of compressed air.

    I would like to know if this suggestion helps.

    Hello

    The error codes 24 Smart character or drive Self Test (DST) chess - in both cases, this would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  It is also compatible with the slow performance that describe you

    If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP (with two error codes) and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

  • External hard drive gives USB not recognized error

    I have a Western Digital Passport 80 GB HD, which worked fine with XP until today.  I plugged this morning and received an error not recognized USB.  I followed the troubleshooting tips and online help.  It seems that in most cases, if you go to computer management / disk management, you can see the external hard drive.  This is not the case with mine.  I don't see the player.  I downloaded the recovery software, but everything is based on the premise that the drive appears.  Mine does not work.  Can someone help me?

    Thank you.

    Unfortunately, this drive has probably went wrong.  Have you tried another cable to connect your player to your computer?  It may be a long shot, but it is possible that the cable could be damaged.  You may need to take your car to a specialist in recovery to recover the data.  I apologize for the bad news.

  • Dell XPS 420 with Vista Home Premium, replaced the hard drive, download now blue screen errors

    My girlfriend has a desktop Dell XPS 420 quit working a year or 2 ago. A computer technician told me that it sounded as if the hard drive was bad, recently I purchased from Dell, a Seagate 1 TB hard drive (the original is a Western Digital 320 GB).

    I bought also, once again from Dell, a copy of its installation discs for Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit.

    I installed the new hard drive, correctly, as far as I can tell, but I tried several times over the past days to install Vista and a few times I got errors (BSoD) STOP and a few other times, Windows Installer errors.

    What's wrong?

    I run Dell diagnostics that took almost a whole day, but I don't think anything. I have not partitioned the hard drive, it's like 931 GB.

    I think that may be something related to the RAM, but I'm not sure.

    Thanks for any help.

  • Windows Explorer: Impossible to copy an external 6 GB ISO on hard drive file - file too big error

    I am trying to copy a 6 GB ISO on my external hard drive file, but I get the error "the file is too large for the destination file system . My external hard drive is a FAT32 file system.

    Is there one solution other than the formatting of my external to NTFS? And if not, what are the dangers of do?

    Thank you.

    Michael Murphy is correct to identify the problem, but I do not share his solution (more specifically requested an alternative formatting).

    There is another solution it's your external drive to NTFS format - convert to NTFS (which means that you will not lose your data, programs and settings just as you would if you formatted).  It is the best way to convert a drive to NTFS and is specifically designed for this purpose - I wouldn't format the drive unless I had no other choice (and you can) - it is not the process of corroct for this task (but to be honest it will work, but again it will be wpe the external drive clean information in the process when this is not necessary).

    Here are the steps to perform the conversion.  It is very easy.  http://techblissonline.com/fat32-to-ntfs-conversion-in-windows-xp-or-vista/.

    I hope this helps.

  • Hard drive erased, now receive the error occurred trying to read the boot configuration

    I erased my hard drive but when I restarted my computer, it said that there is an error then produced than that to read the boot configuration, I tried to use the windows vista download recovery disc but when I turned on my computer nothing the same thing appeard. HELP PLEASE!

    * original title - I erased my hard drive but when I restarted my computer, it said that there is an error then produced than that to read start configuration.*

    Here's how to use the Vista startup repair disk. is NOT a Vista reinstall disk.

    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html

    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

    ISO Burner:http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.

    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.

    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    How to reinstall Vista:
    Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .
    There is no Vista free download legal available.
    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
    They will tell you how to do this.
    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, Acer, recovery disk/s etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  • Received error BSOD, ran Diagnostics, got the error code 2000-0146, tried to boot from different HARD drive, got the same stop error message

    So my friend gave me his computer dell laptop. The thing would boot normally for a few days until he would give me a blue screen of death with the "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME" message constantly to not even upward. I ran the diagnostics and got the error code 2000-0146. What I've read, this code error means that the HARD drive is bad and must be replaced. So, to make sure that it's the hard drive, tried to boot from an old hard drive, I got around the installation by USB and windows gave me the same stop error message. May - so that means it's a motherboard problem?

    No, it isn't - unless the operating system was installed on this drive AND the system in question, that it won't work as a bootable drive.

    Unplug the system, remove or disconnect the battery and hold the power for 30 seconds approximately.  Turn on and re-run the diagnostic tests - if the same error appears again, the drive is bad.  Replace it.

  • External hard drive not detected with the error: "You must format the disk in the J: drive until you can use it."

    Hello

    I have an external hard drive to work perfectly. I'm back from vacation, and it does not appear under "My Computer". It appears under "Devices and printers", however. This is a link to a screencap of Device Manager: http://i.gyazo.com/9e91e1d71ed32c55dba0419e79b499d5.png

    The device in question is that of J:, and it says here that he has 100% free space, that worries me, because he had only 50 GB of free space when I used the latter. After that I open the disk management, I get a pop up message saying: "You must format the disk in the J: drive until you can use it."

    How can I get my hard drive appears again?

    Thank you
