  You have any 3rd party programs that you have installed on the device?

  This is a new feature or you've had for a while?

  Try a warm reset to stop every 3 rd party applications to see if it solves the problem. You will find the warm reset procedure on the link below for the hard reset procedure.

  You may need to hard reset the device and retrieve it at the factory out of the box. The hard reset erases all data on the device, so make sure you hotsync before resetting.

• Hard Reset damaged Treo 680?

  Some time ago I've nailed my Treo 680 mounted belt on a sharp angle, causing the key 5-way such as the 'up' command is no longer available. I have now changed to a replacement of 680 and want to erase everything from the original before disposing of it, but of course, ordering "mounted", what confirms the deletion of all data during the procedure to hard reset!

  Does anyone know of another way to do a hard reset which does not have this command? Any other suggestions to clean all personal data?

  Hello and welcome to the forums of Palm.

  You can download the HARDRESET program from www.palmpowerups.com. This program will be hard reset of your device as soon as you click on it - it will give you 10 seconds to press a button to cancel the hard reset. After 10 seconds, you must perform a soft reset of your device (remove the battery and then put it again) to complete the hard reset.

• Trying to Hard reset Palm Treo 500v

  If you follow the instructions online - press and hold the power button, remove the battery and replace it, I can't do the screen to resurrect to continue the procedure.

  When I remove the battery, it is as if the mobile turn OFF.

  Any suggestions how to solve this problem or is it useless?

  Hard reset my device forget that to get it going again, I had to go through the stage 'Please touch the screen with your stylus' things.

  Screen on my device has long been dysfunctional, I was doing around the use of scrolling.

  Is it possible to use the buttons to go beyond this screen, so I can use my phone as before?

• Updated the Treo 650, Palm Centro, unable to synchronize all the data of the device

  Hello, I bought a new palm centro once my treo 650 took a bath.  I was able to load all my previous data on the new device with no problems, but I've been unable to hotsync since.  If I do a hard reset I can load it all on the property.  The only third party application that I use is datebook5.  I bought the program dbfixit and repaired all the blobs on my calendar entries, but I am still unable to sync anything (even memos, todos, address book, make a pocket computer > computer replacement).  I also deleted my palm desktop user name that I use a new fresh user profile and I still get the same error messages.  I also ran the palmhotsyncsetup.exe of Pimlico software.

  Welcome to the Palm Forums. A quick question for you. Do you use wireless sync to get your email on the phone?

  If you are, then this is your problem. If not, skip the rest of this post. Wireless Sync disables the Palm Desktop software. If you want to get your e-mail and synchronization, I advise to use VersaMail instead. If you really want to use Wireless Sync and still cradle sync, here are steps on how to re-enable the lines: http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=37678. This will allow you to start the synchronization again, but beware, you might start to get copies of your data.

• Sync Outlook 07 for Palm Treo 650 Sync Conduit product Contacts DUPLICATES in Outlook... Help!

  I downloaded the Palm sync Conduit, linked a Treo 650 sync with Outlook 2007 (Vista 32) and it created duplicates for most of my CONTACTS in Outlook 07, not all but most, weird.

  The hotsync Manager create you any duplicates.

  Clean the database of contacts in Outlook, you need hard reset your Treo, set the desktop hotsync conduits replaces handheld and then synchronize.

  One thing that you may not be aware is that Palm desktop 6.2 lines already installed Outlook 2007, there is no need to install the update for Outlook 2007 lines.

  You can remove the update 2007 conduit using the control panel.

  I'm running a motheboard Foxconn ATX with chipset i5 intel, 12 GB RAM, card Matrox Quad M9148 graphics, 120 GB SSD and 650 GB Seagate drive spinning.  OS is W7 Home Premium 64-bit.  The problem seems to arise with several windows open and I wonder if it has nothing to do with IE.  I get this problem since a few weeks ago, I built the machine after my Acer motheboard destroyed car.  A couple of days, I replaced IE8 with IE9, hoping it would make a differnce but he did not.

  A upadate with what seems to have solved the problem - although a little late...

  The problem seemed to relate to IE9 and in particular Web sites using flash (I think)

  For example call graphs of the stock on www.igmarkets.co.uk or watching live video feeds on CNBC or Reuters would cause the machine to freeze.  Sometimes I would get a blue screen telling me it's 'security preparation options' that could only be cleared by a power reset.  Well, I seem to have solved the problem, or got around him at least... I installed Google Chrome and (fingers crossed) everything seems to work fine - I've not had a crash for more than two weeks now.  I will update if anything changes.
  Safe mode startup mode minimum etc. etc. is a bit beyond me.  For example, after following some instructions on the internet on the topic where to find a log file that records what is happening as a machine going AWOL, I got in the folder and open the file, but it was not exactly written in plain language and what am I supposed to do with it?

  -hard reset
  -Locate the backup under Palm Desktop folder folder
  -Rename in backup_old
  -synchronization, select old id. This will bring back PIMs (calendar, Contacts, tasks and Memos) but no settings or programs
  -Reinstall the applications one by one AFTER having checked that they are compatible with the device target.

  I'm not savy computer jargon and generally struggled to move around the computer.  Here's what I want to do.

  Move my calendar and contacts from a computer (Windows XP) to a newer Windows 7 computer.

  I don't have the Treo 650. He died and I was caught between no more Treo 650 is available and no new Palm not sold by Verizon at this time here.  I had no other choice but to move to a Blackberry.

  I have the Palm software on both computers and I think that it is an export > import operation.  I don't know how to get to where I am now.

  You are doing well so far!   On the new computer, open Palm Desktop and select 'File' and then 'import '.

  Live Palm Desktop in the flash player and file appropriate for whatever function you are importing.  If for some reason, the computer has a problem importing from the flash drive, try to copy files to any location on your hard disk, and then try again.

  Take a look at this page on the Palm website.  It gives you directions to move data from your Treo to your pre.

  With respect to the data on your SD card, the Pre and Pixi use SD cards.  Palm has included the storage space on the device.  To move your data, use an SD card reader to make the card appear as a hard drive on your Mac or PC.  Then, once you have your Pre or Pixi, connect it to your computer in USB drive mode and copy the documents that you want to move to your new phone from the SD card to the storage space on the pre or Pixi.

• Restoration of hotsync after Hard Reset Palm Centro

  My Palm Centro was freezing randomly and in particular whenever someone called me. As this was very annoying, I performed a Hard Reset of the device. Before I did I did a Hotsync to back up everything (or so I thought).

  Now when I do another hotsync after Hard Reset nothing is restored, the only things on the device that were there before are the photos that were on the memory card. All my Contacts, phone numbers, notes, calendar entries and everything disappeared. How can I restore them?

  EDIT: Ive since found all my contacts, calendar entries, memos, etc. in the application of "Palm Desktop" in Windows XP. How to I move from the computer on the Palm Centro?

  When you hotsync it will ask for a user name, be they existing or invites you to create a new.

  you remember what username you assigned when you do the front hotsync.

  You also said that you can see your information in palm desktop, check the user name in the upper right corner where you see the user name.

  regardless of the user name displayed in the area where you can also see your data, this is the username correct to decide when you hotsync.

  now, your device is empty so kindly do the hard reset on it and then try to hotsync, but this time, you should be able to know what username to choose.

  I have a treo 650 window XP, I was not able to sync since March of ' 08.  I just downloaded the latest version 6.2 and I plug in my usb cable to the PC and it does not at all recognize the palm 650.  I just bought the treo 750 and wanted to put all my info on my computer so that I could synchronize my 750.

  What do you mean by a hard reset? This term is not the troubleshooting steps. There is no reboot, reset, restore from backup, restore to factory. A reset here is the sleep/wake and home together buttons until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will restart. No data is assigned to this procedure.
