Help cascading two Linksys routers

Hi, I tried to cascade two Linksys routers, but it did not work for me. Maybe you could help us. The first (which has the connection of the cable modem) is the brand new E4200, and the second is the former WRT54GCv3.

That's how I want cascading them:

···································································
Linksys E4200 ----(wireless)----(Desktop PC)·······················
gw: 192.168.1.1 ·············|--(Laptop)···························
······|······················|--(iPad)·····························
······~······················|--(Home Server)······················
····(PLC)··························································
······~····························································
······|····························································
Linksys WRT54GCv3 ·················································
(Router mode|DHCP/NAT disabled) --(wireless)----(Playstation 3)····
gw: 192.168.1.2 ·····························|--(Samsung BD-C8500)·
···································································

However, the WRT54GCv3 does not receive the IP address of the DHCP E4200. I also tried to connect directly (without the PLC), even specifying a static IP address on the router second, but I got the same results.

I have to State, that I will not change the gateway IP/first router because I have a web server and game works with a static IP address and I don't want to put it temporarily offline due to adjust the network settings.

Thanks for your support!

I searched the forum for you and found your answer.

  • Cascading of wireless routers. How?

    Hello!

I need 2 routers cascade, but I can't use threads (at least for the moment), to extend the coverage of my private home network.

First router is a WRT610Nv1, connected via PPPoE for my ISP and Internet. The two radio freq (2.4 & 5 MHz) are activated but I use mostly the 2.4 with the devices.

Second router is an E2000, 2 floors below. During this second device, I would like to connect some cables (XBOX) and some wireless device (computers). It would be ok to configure E2000 as an Extender (same IP subnet) but I can't find any option or similar configuration to use WDS.

Currently the E2000 place is taken by a 3rd router (WRT150Nv1.1 with firmware WW - DRT) acting as a Repeater bridge (over 2.4 MHz) but I want to dismiss this 3rd possibly using 5 MHz and didn't want to put the dd - wrt firmware in E2000.

Is it possible to connect WRT610N and E2000 cascade wireless? How can I configure them?

Thanks in advance for any suggestion...

    Concerning

    Roberto

No you can not mount cascade two Linksys wireless routers, you must use a thread.  However, there are 3rd party firmware that can do this.  Make a search for DD - WRT and discover their firmware.

    Hi Mohammed Ehsan Jourah,.

Thanks for posting the request in the Microsoft community forums.
I understand that you need to know how to make a wireless bridge between two different routers

What version of the operating system is installed on the computer?

To connect multiple computers, install a network adapter in each and run a network CAT5 cabling to connect each one to a hub (and thus the other.) The computer that will serve as a transition will have a standard network card for wired and a wireless network adapter that will connect to the wireless (WAP) access point or gateway on the second network.

A network bridge is software or hardware that connects two networks or more so that they can communicate. You can create only a single bridge network on a computer, but a bridge can handle any number of network connections.

You can try the steps at the bridge between two different routers wireless.
    a. determine the coverage area. When using two or more routers, the coverage area should be divided, and each router should be placed in a central location in each subdivision. If you add a wireless router to an existing network, this may mean moving the first router.
    b. decide which router is the main router. The main router is connected to the Internet, a LAN cable or other networks. It should be as close to the wired network connections or who has the best line of sight to another wireless network. In addition, the main router should be a high range router, allowing large tables of State and more users.
    c. buy a spare antenna, as the antennas that come with most routers do not have very good range. Quality omnidirectional antennas can push the range and signal strength of each of the routers, which, in turn, will reduce the cost by allowing routers less cover more space overall.
    d. deploy the primary router carefully. This router is the most important and requires most of the time of installation and options. Set the WEP (Protocol) encryption Service Set Identifier (SSID) and wireless, set up the Internet connection and test the router with some clients (computers). Once you get the main router deployed, deploy other routers should be easy.
    e. deploy the secondary routers, which must be configured to operate in "mode of transition." Secondary routers should be deployed around the perimeter of a large area or 'hot spots' where users placed - for example, will convene a bench Park or the table.

  • With the help of two routers to share in may neighbors connection

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help?

My neighbors gave me it is code WPA to share it is on the internet and I was picking up using an antenna usb plugged into a portable tops that will share its ethernet connection to router wireless WRT54G linksys so send the signal to my house. Because it means that the laptop must remain in the same place and always be on, I decided to implement my old Wi - Fi tp-link router point in client mode and now pick up the signal on that instead of the antenna usb but when I connect directly to the WRT54G Router I get limited access, are there changes in the settings of the WRT54G to make ethernet direct feeding from the work of tp-link? Any help would be appreciated.

Guest access to Router 2 is not available. Should work the Router 1 however.

DHCP server on the Router 1 will provide addresses IP to all PCs no matter if they connect to Router 1 or 2.

  • Two Linksys EA6200 at the same time

Hi all, I bought two routers Linksys EA6200. Before buying, I have read the manual and confirmed that it can act as a wireless (bridge mode) access point. I had no problem setting up one as a router and connect to the internet via the modem from my ISP. Then I tried to set up the other as a wireless access point so that other devices can connect to the internet through it, but it didn't work. The two networks are separated despite having the same SSID configuration.

This configuration was working with a point of access to another brand and I am surprised that it does not work with this router. What I am doing wrong?

Yes even I know the EA6200 does not support the Wireless Bridge Mode.

  • How is it that we still have the ssl_error_weak_server_cert_key error when you try to access the Linksys routers?

We had this error pop up in FF 32 and 33 and 34 FF fixed it. How is it that since FF38.1 returned error and even now with 40 FF, the error is still there. Why is no longer an exception option Add to these routers? Even some of the most recent always give this error.

You probably cannot update the key, but you can complain to Linksys.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 more sees two wireless routers - does not connect

I bought a HP Officejet 8600 and tries to connect to my wireless network.

I have the printer connected directly to the computer.

I restarted the computer, the printer and the time capsule.

I am running OSX 10.8.4 on my imac.

My wireless router is a time capsule that is in common with all the firmware.

When I try to connect the printer to the wireless network it tells me that "more than one access point/router wireless was found which corresponds to your wireless network (SSID) name".  No 6 other devices that use the connection without wire see what second SSID with the same name and I can't find in Airport utility where there is a second network.

    Any ideas?

Did you go in the settings of the router? Looks like it is set to dual band and sends two signals. If you go into your settings and change, it is only broadcast at 2.4 GHz, which should help you to connection problems.

  • Need help with two questions about preinstalled WXP Tecra A11 - 10F

In win7 there is a power management option with which this can prevent to met, but how can I do under XP?

2 - is there a way I can put a fixed amount of RAM on the graphics accelerator? (The two o/s)

    Thank you in advance.

    Alessandro

    Hi Alessandro,.

    1. as far as I know that this option is not available on Windows XP. Vista and Windows 7 provide several obsolete as XP power management features. All you can do is to install Toshiba Power Saver if it s not installed. Here, you can set power saving for the processor, cooling fan, etc., but USB is not available.
In your case, I'll try an update of the chipset driver.

    2. No, fixed the amount of RAM can t graphics card game. This will be controlled automatically.

  • With the help of two channels of my 6623A

Hey there, I'm looking for help reguarding a power supply HP 6623 A DC using Labview 9... I'm working on a project where I need to control all 3 channels of power and switch back and fourth to change their output. I tried to change the code in the example, but it will only be 1 channel and clear the other. I can't get the two simultaneously. Thanks for your help

OK, let's take a step back.

You control a single instrument.  Therefore, you shoud have only 1 resource that is initialized once and closed once.  You must perform initialization before your loop and close after the loop.

What I recommend here, is that you use a Structure of the event for the control when you send commands.  The idea here is that you only send orders when your settings change really.  You can use the case of timeout to make the statements.

And since you claim that you're new, here are some tutorials that you may find useful.

  • With the help of two GPIB-ENET/100 boxes with ibconf - gpib1 selection?

I hope this is the right forum for this post.

I'm trying to use ibconf on Solaris to configure a workstation to use 2 boxes GPIB-ENET/100.  I have never tried to configure a computer to use multiple boxes GPIB-ENET/100 at the time, so I don't have a lot of confidence that I'm doing it correctly for two boxes.  Especially given what I describe below.

According to the manual page 4-2 of the "Getting started with your GPIB-ENET/100 and NOR-488.» 2 for Solaris. "

To identify your GPIB-ENET/100 in ibconf, perform the following steps:
    1. press on to select the option rename.
    2. type the alias name of host, host name, or IP address assigned to your
    GPIB-ENET/100 and press .
    3. press to exit, chooose to save your changes.

I followed these steps for both boxes, but the banner at the top of the menu always says 'Card device for Council gpib0' and he always says "gpib0" just to top the host name that I go.  Shouldn't he State gpib0 first Board and gpib1 of the Committee on the second?  But I don't see a way to move to gpib1, or the unit of the second box ("Board") map.  Instead, it seems that I crushed the entrance of host name for the first box, I've identified using the steps above with the host name of the second box, that I've identified by following the steps above.

I looked through the manual as well as fact a search online, nothing helps.  Which brings me to this forum.

How should we do to get the pilot configured to use the GPIB-ENET/100 boxes?

Thanks in advance.  Out of my ibconf is below (that's what it actually looks like, either incidentally - the strange on the line with dev2, dev13, and dev24 is not an artifact of copy/paste):
