Hibernation program

Apparently, I lost the program of hibernation in Vista Home Premium when I used the disc "Cleanup to remove temporary files.  How can I get that back?

Thanks, I got it solved!

Don't forget, in order to get running as an administrator, you must right click on command prompt, then left click on command prompt

  • Running back from standby/hibernation program

    Hey there,
I want to launch a program every time I come back/sign my computer after the standby/hibernation mode. I only found a possibility to play sounds of a logon each time that this happens, but I can't run programs like that. Is it possible to do it on Vista?

PS: If it isn't, can you send this request apparently simple functionality to the Windows 7 development team?

While the mark's instructions look as if they will work, there is a more elegant way to achieve, using Vista built in Task Scheduler.

To create a task that runs whenever you unlock your profile:
1 open the Task Scheduler [start > Panel > system and Maintenance > administrative tools > Task Scheduler (or just type "Task Scheduler" in the box start search)]. You will need an administrator account/password for access to this.
    2. Select "Create a task" to create a new task.
    3. a panel with several tabs will open.
    4. fill the 'Général' tab to meet your needs.
    5. go to the "Triggers" tab and choose "new". Another panel will open. At the top of this Panel, you will see a (see below). Open it and choose ' to unlock the workstation. Then choose if you want this task to run just for your profile or for everyone. Click on 'ok '. (You can find it useful to use the option "Delay task" to delay the task for 15-30 seconds to give your office a chance to load before the program runs.)

    6. go to the Actions tab, select 'New', choose 'Run program' and locate the program you want to run.
    7. Select the tabs 'Conditions' & 'Settings', respectively and change various settings according to your needs. (Make sure that the "Run on AC Only" option is disabled if you are using a laptop and want the task to run when it is unplugged).
    8. click OK to save your new task.
Now, whenever you unlock your profile after the standby or Hibernate mode, your program runs.
If you follow these instructions, but choose "connection to" rather than "To unlock the workstation", your task will run whenever you connect (unlock and logon are not the same thing as the computer is concerned, so keep that in mind).
This may not work if your profile is not protected by a password, but all mine, so I couldn't test it in this situation.
I hope this will satisfy your needs.
    Best wishes

  • Which folder or file not hibernation process store open files or programs on the hard drive?

Which folder or file not hibernation process store open files or programs on the hard drive?

    Hello

The Hiberfil.sys hidden system file is located in the folder root of the drive where the operating system is installed. The Windows Kernel Power Manager reserves this file when you install Windows. The size of this file is approximately equal to the amount of memory (RAM) is installed on the computer.

  • Program shows just like a small strip at the top left after the resumption of the hibernation

My program shows itself sometimes only as a small strip once Windows comes out of the hibernation.

Everything seems to be the program. Only sometimes.

I can maximize and it will go the the corner, but always shows only the small band.

I can move it around, but it will show more than the small band.

I can close it from the Task Manager, but lose all the data that I didn't save.

    It will open normally again.

Running Windows 7, 1920/1080 with the latest AMD video drivers.

    Hi Mark,

    Thank you for the update.

If possible, I'd suggest to uninstall the program and re - install to see if that solves the problem. If this is not the case, because this application is developed using .net, I would recommend to post your query in MSDN.

    Hello

For me, it looks like you don't have Toshiba drivers all installed and necessary.
Have you used the Toshiba recovery disc after the HARD drive has been replaced or have you installed the Windows XP using a clean CD Microsoft?

Please note that the common Module are very important!
You must install this software first!
The Toshiba Power Saver help you to enable Hibernate mode and also to access standby mode!

On the Toshiba European pilot page you will find all necessary drivers and you'll also find installation instructions.
Follow m this and I sure will get you everything works again!

I've updated the energy program from toshiba, but it stills do not work.

    Hello

Go into the Control Panel Power Save-settings. Click the Advanced tab. Enable support for hibernation.

If this does not help to the next step.

have third-party software installed additional 3rd ay that disrupts power management? Try to uninstall all of the software that are considered step by step.

    Hi kkle4,

You use the preinstalled version of Windows 7 in Toshiba? I can t find any information in your posting on OS :(

Otherwise I agree with Akuma and you should check the BIOS version and probably an update would be useful. Before you begin to update of the BIOS here are some useful tips:
-Close all running programs (also, antivirus, firewall, etc.)
-Make sure that you are logged on as an administrator
-Unzip all files from zip archive
-Connect the AC adapter before you can update the BIOS and make sure the battery is fully charged

  • Satellite U400-128 does not start after hibernation

    Hello

I currently have problems with my Toshiba laptop. I use it for internet, games, multimedia, programming... Yesterday, when I went to bed, I close the lid that does the same thing as usual--went to hibernation. But today when I tried to start the following things Notepad occur:

    1. If battery is in and laptop is plugged into AC - Laptop starts but after 1-2 seconds it stops again
    2. If the battery is out and the laptop is plugged into AC - same thing
    3. If battery is in and laptop don't is NOT plugged AC - computer laptop starts but nothing is displayed on the screen (it's not far, it looks like even a wink or something). Strange thing is that I can't turn off the laptop and then pressing the power button / stop. The only way is to take out the battery.

The lights seem to work - well they are the right things.

THX in advance for any guy advice;).

    Hello!

It's strange and looks like a hardware malfunction.

In your case, I'll try to remove the battery and the AC adapter. Wait up to an hour and then put in the battery again und plug in the AC adapter. Try it and maybe it works.

In the worst cases, you must go to a local ASP and ask a technician for help laptop.

    Good bye

  • Tecra M4 problem with hibernation

    Hello

The Toshiba power saver is responsible for standby and hibernation.
I recommend to remove the delete and add energy-saving programs. Then try to install this app again.

  • Put into hibernation - insufficient system resources exist to complete the API (Tecra M4)

I just thought I'd pass on my experience with this problem.

I recently updated my Tecra M4 2 GB of RAM memory. Everything was fine except everyonce in a while he would not hibernate. However, it would suspend to RAM (standby). It seemed to happen after the antivirus software has managed to (which I had changed at the same time). I studied this way, but it also happened if I had a lot of programs running. So, a quick google search revealed why almost all laptops come with only 512 MB of RAM.

There is a problem with Windows, freeing the memory in a way that allows it to be written to the hard disk, preventing the hibernation and to create the very vague error message "insufficient system resources exist to complete the API".

The solution is to contact Microsoft by phone and ask them for the fix for the #909095 of the Knowledge Base article. The fix is free but the MS site makes it seem as if you have to pay £200 to contact Ms support

This seems to have solved my problem!
    Hooray!

This is the Knowledge Base article:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?kbid=909095

Here's the Blog I found the solution on:
    http://www.ntwizards.NET/2004/10/13/Hibernate
Of course, the only problem with contacting MS support is that I received a LOT of phone calls asking me what I thought of their support... it was very good, so I don't really mind, but I find it funny that I continue to have called and asked the same questions!

  • Satellite L30-PSL33 does not illuminate after hibernation

    Hello

as I said in my previous post, I also have a problem with the Hibernate. The thing is that when I leave to transform a hibernation on this more later sometimes not loading Windows - the load bar coming to an end and then it stops 'thought' so I have to stop it and start it...

The operating system is Win Xp Pro SP2 on Toshiba Satellite L30-PSL33. For example, it loads Windows hibernation 2 or 3 times, and then after that it will not load the operating system.

Please give me an advice how to fix this...

    Thank you

It's not easy to say what s may be wrong because like you say so this problem happens sometimes and that's why he of not easy to reproduce this error.

I m an owner of a Sat L30. I use Vista on my L30 and received no similar problem.
I talked to some people, and also read on some sites Internet computer that this error could be related software.
One question; what OS came preinstalled on this notebook; XP or Vista?

Maybe you have updated the operating system on your laptop to the last State.
Please also check if the third-party programs 3rd n t assigned the wrong operating system.

  • Vista satellite A110 - idle in hibernation

    Hello

I saw a Satellite A110-225, 2 GB memory and under Vista Home Premium.
When I was still running XP, when I closed the lid, he went to mode sleep for as long as I kept it closed.

Now I have installed Vista for 8 to 9 months and when I close the lid (or via the start menu) it goes too in standby mode. So far, so good. However, a random number of minutes or hours the system wakes up without touching me, for the treatment of certain data as preparation to go into hibernation. When he wakes up and I quickly open the lid, the screen remains white, I can't see anything.

This happens in 99.9% of the time when I put it in sleep mode. So sometimes after 15 minutes, other times after a few hours, he wakes up to go into hibernation. Sometimes, very, very sometimes it remains on standby.

I changed manually automatic updates to manual defragmentation, to and there is another option that I have disabled or changed manually (I forgot the name, though), I took the UTP cable, turn off WiFi to make sure was not a wake on LAN... but no luck! Turn it on, it out of hibernation, works very well... but I just want to use sleep mode.

Everything works well and really is the only problem I have with Vista and it starts to irritate me more every day.

Does anyone have an idea, what the problem?

    Hey Buddy,

Unfortunately there are won´t be anyone (I think including toshiba TEC) which could help you since the powersave program is just microsoft and toshiba.

The only thing you can do is to update your BIOS and watch out for the driver updates for your machine (like chipset or maybe you should check the site toshiba driver).

Otherwise, you must wait until MS brings some fixes for their buggy system, because I ve not tried to optimize my Vista and installed XP back. I'll wait until redmond will come out some piece of software to do this strange bugware calling Vista works PROPERLY. I Don t know if they are able to pronounce, but they know very well is the DOLLAR Word. :(

    Welcome them
