Windows 7 does not come with a native email client. If you do not use Windows Mail or online webmail (Gmail, Yahoo, your email provider's webmail, etc) then you will need to download/install an e-mail client and configure it with the settings of your e-mail provider's server. Thunderbird is a free e-mail client well. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • How to find which version of Windows Live Mail I have?

The death of my last computer, my beloved Outlook Express died with him.  I was shocked to know that I had to have Windows Live Mail and he did not support by e-mail.  I'm still scratching my head trying to understand why they would take it away from us when WLM is supposed to be better than OE but can't get a response from Microsoft on this one here.  Best buy got Thunderbird a stationery, but I couldn't use it with Windows 7.  So for two years, I didn't have a paper mill.  I recently discovered that I have Thunderbird on Windows 7, I installed it and have all the stationery that I could wish.  However, for ease of use and the folder options I prefer WLM.  Now, someone just told me that WLM 9 supports HTML for stationery.  By that, I mean like in Thunderbird, I can pull up a 'file', (an image or picture) to My Documents or my pictures in a new e-mail message and use it as stationery and can I download WLM 9 and remove WLM 11.

Firstly, I bought my computer in 2012 so I guess I have WLM 11, but I can't find out how to know which version I.  Does anyone know how to find out who?

In addition, WLM 11 doesn't have a lot of stuff that's not WLM 9?  I would make a big mistake by changing from 11 to 9?  How can ensure me that all my information is changed in the course of 9?

Any advice would be appreciated.  I really, really enjoy my stationery in Thunderbird, but it save me a step if I could do it in WLM instead to run two programs of stationery.

    Thank you.

Certainly, you do not have Windows Live Mail. It is quite
    as an option.

and he has not supported by email.

    He certainly fact e-mail support.

You have the choice of many e-mail programs, some by Microsoft and some
by others, some free and others for sale. As far as I am
concerned, Windows Live Mail is not a very good choice and there is
many of the better ones. I recommend that you try several and choose the
    the one that you prefer.

  • How can I download a file of old emails from Windows Mail (not Windows Live Mail) to a flash drive?

Left Sode of the screen of Windows Mail are the names of files where the old emails can be stored. How to find the and then download them to a file separately on aflash drive as a back-up? They can be found using Windows Explorer or by using the regular 'real estate' research given to you by right-clicking on the name of the file in the Mail window.

Messages are stored in a hidden folder that you can locate it in Windows Explorer.  To do this go to the control panel. Folder options | View and uncheck Hide extensions of known file types and also to verify the possibility to see the hidden files and folders.  Then in Winmail opener you can go to tools | Options | Maintenance | Advanced | Store the folder to view the location of the message store.  You can then navigate to that folder in Windows Explorer and slot that you will find a subdirectory "Local Folders" and by whom are all of your boxes to the letters and messages stored as eml files.  You can copy this store of the entirety of the message, and then on an external drive to back it up.  I believe you can also use file | Export | Messages in Winmail to save outside.

  • Windows Live Mail is no longer allowing permission to retrieve emails.

    Hello

I use Windows Live Mail for years to see the emails from a verizon email address.

After the opening of Windows Live Mail, I get a prompt for my user name and password (that I ticked 'remember me'). I always clicked 'OK' and in a few seconds all new messages are imported and everything works.

As of today, I received the same login for authorization screen, which I clicked 'OK' and he keeps coming back to the top and not allowing the authorization to import new e-mail messages. I double checked to make sure that the password is correct. Who is that I can connect to my account/Outlook Live. This isn't a shared computer.

So my question/problem is: why isn't Windows Live Mail recognizing the right login and password more and can do something to fix this? Also, I can't export my contacts to my email from verizon because of an "internal error" after following the steps, otherwise I would use just that. Thank you!

I have seen this problem several times.

Usually, if you to your ISP (in this case Verizon) and the Journal devoted to their web mail service, then log out, the problem will be solved.

Other causes are possible, but less likely:

    1. Your e-mail account may have been hacked on Verizon and the hacker has changed your password.  If you can't connect to your Verizon webmail, you will need to change your password
    2. Verizon may have changed the ports or the features you need in your WLM account configuration.

You must help Verizon with your contacts exporting problem on their server.
