How to enable virtualization on Satellite Pro P100-PSPAE

HY uall,
I have a Satellite Pro P100-PSPAE with a CPU T5600, it is a core 2 duo CPU with Intel virtualization technology (B.t.w was one the reasons I chose this laptop in particular).

Now my XEN-Manager tells me that this technology is not enabled in the BIOS but I can't find any switch to enable it in the BIOS. What I am doing wrong?

Greetings Michael

Hello

Virtualization can be enabled in the BIOS.
But several versions of BIOS don't support such function.

If your BIOS does not have option, then you will not be able to activate!
Sorry to say it buddy, but there is not much to do! :(

  • How to enable virtualization on Satellite L300-1DN?

    Hello
I would like to know how to enable virtualization on Satellite L300 1DN please?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello

General virtualization is not available on all computers laptops because it s based on the material and it must be supported on the CPU.
On many models with processor supports virtualization, this option is added in the BIOS. Sorry, but if this option is not available in the BIOS settings nothing you can do about it.

  • Satellite Pro P100 PSPAEA - irritating noise of the fan

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro P100 PSPAEA and need honestly the laptop more irritating I have ever owned.
The problem is the cooling fan which tends to regularly turn up to maximum, sat there for a few seconds then turn down.

Rather than simply successively increase to cool a little screaming for a second or two, then reduced speed. It can do like all the 15 seconds and is driving me crazy especially in a silent room. I am running Windows Vista and the latest version of the BIOS V4.4. I am ready to throw this thing on the door and never buy Toshiba again.

But before I do that does anyone know a solution?

    Thank you

I think the BIOS v4.4 requires a newer graphics NVIDIA driver.

Install the latest graphics driver from the Toshiba site and see how it goes.

  • How to enable virtualization on Satellite C850D - 10 X (Insyde H2O BIOS)?

    Hello
I just bought C850D Satellite w / E2-1800 AMD processor. Now, I would use some applications in Windows XP mode and want to enable hardware virtualization in the BIOS.
    Unfortunately, this option is hidden.

Could someone help and provide patch or modded BIOS to be able to use this feature?

    Thanks in advance.
    EM

I think that you will not be able to activate this if the option is not available or greyed out in the BIOS.

  • Satellite Pro P100 (PSPAEA) and the 64-bit virtualization

    Hi all

I hope that someone tried to do this before and has an answer.

I am currently running Windows Vista (32 bit) on my P100 with the last BIOS V4.40 (also 32 Bit Version). I am trying to install a Windows XP 64 Bit Virtual Machine using VMWare Workstation. However it is said that even if my hardware is capable VT I need enable VT via my BIOS support. Of course there is no setting that I can find in the BIOS. I need to install the 64-bit BIOS? Or is there something that I am missing? Or is it simply not really able to do what I want?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

If you say; + your hardware is capable VT + do you mean the CPU?

    What CPU do you have?

I ask because the VT (virtual technology) is not supported by all Intel processors!

Then please post some details about your CPU!

  • Satellite Pro P100 - how to enable Intel virtualization technology

    Hi all

    I have a Satellite Pro P100 P/N PSPA4E-00X00HEN, which I just installed Windows 7 RC.

I desperately need to run Virtual PC 2007 (other versions do not work) on this subject, but he wants that Hardware-Assisted Virtualization allows in the BIOS (Phoenix Technologies V4.70).

I've just updated to the latest version of the BIOS, but it didn't ease for SIAS in it.
I checked the specifications of the processor and there is no installation of Intel virtualization technology.

From what I've read on the internet, even if the processor is capable manufacturers on the computers/laptops, in the Toshiba case, program the BIOS to their liking which will turn on or off certain functions.

What I want to know is, it will be another update to enable virtualization or there at - it another way to do it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

To my knowledge, the use of Virtual PC 2007 does not require a virtual technology supported by the hardware (CPU).
I have used Virtual PC and Virtual Machine on PC without the ability to VT.

But you're right. Intel CORE2 DUO T7400(2.16GHZ) processor supports VT

Unfortunately my knowledge the P100 BIOS does not support the option to enable/disable VT.

I tried to enable the setting of virtualization in the BIOS and the setting is disabled and I was unable to change the setting to activate. I have flashed the BIOS to the new version, and now how to enable virtualization has completely disappeared.
The laptop model is Satellite Pro A300-28R with Windows 7 Professional and BIOS version 2.10.

How do I enable virtualization setting so I can run Windows Virtual PC mode to run compatible programs XP?

    Hello

Did you check the specifications of your laptop first?

The fact is that the processor must support this virtualization and according to the Web of Toshiba site, your laptop is equipped with processor Core 2 Duo T5870.
I checked this on the page of Intel CPU and virtualization isn't supported. That means t, you can use this feature!

Hello to the members of the forum,

I have the Satellite Pro P100 (PSPAHE - 002001GR) and I installed the WIN 7 Enterprise 64 free trial. I have Modules of memory 2 x 2 GB Corsair, a T7400 processor and Bios version 4.7. Everything works fine without their memory. Known BIOS all 4 GB, Windows see it uses but only 3 GB. I know im not alone with this problem, but I have not found a solution to solve it. In msconfig, all right, there's max, and the number of processors. RAM not activated.

If someone knows a way to work to use all 4 GB of installed Ram?

I would be much obliged if anyone can help.

Something else. Intel VT - X is not enabled by BIOS. Also, there is no option to do this. When I bought the laptop it is a feature that I want to use, and now the BIOS does not support it. Why didn't pay much for the laptop so characteristic specific card do not work propably?

Thanks to everyone for reading my post and want to help.

    Hello

Perhaps than that you seem stupid now, but I think that this model laptop was never supported for 64-bit operating systems, and I think the BIOS is also not designed for this.
If you wish, you can call Toshiba nearest service and ask for help. They have access to the database of Toshiba and they can check it for you.

  • How to connect the Satellite Pro P100 to Hifi

I've got Satellite Pro P100. How to connect this laptop to stereo
It's probably easy, but what I can say... Call me stupid.

I have head that comes out of the headphone jack, it connects to my friendly hifi.
Ill be there is a unpleasant hissing in the background. Trying to hook up my boys in head mp3 player, and that works very well.

Any chance of some help... Thank you

    Hello

To my knowledge, you can connect the satellite Pro P100 to HiFi only via a cable 2 RCA Audio Y adapter. To my knowledge the laptop doesn't support the S/PDIF audio output so you only to use an analog audio port.

You can also buy a stereo adapter with 2 x cinch sockets to connect the laptop to the stereo. This card can be plugged into the headset jack

    Check this box:
    Stereo adapter

I think you should visit the nearest dealer of portable. It can show you the right and taken in charge of cables and adapters.

  • Satellite Pro P100: How to recover BONES after replacing HARD drive

    Hello

I bought a satellite Pro P100, and I want to change my hard drive
I have the CD restored, but I think that this will not work with a new hard drive!
What can I do to recover my windows?

    Sorry for my englich!

    Thank you

    Hey Phillipe,

Your recovery CD works on what hard drive install you in your laptop. Are the only factors affecting the hard disk of your choice: -.

    1. compatibility of the BIOS (should not be a problem with the P100 model)
This model mainly old laptop impact where the BIOS could not recognize larger drives.

    2 form factor
You should make sure that the disc you choose has the same physical dimensions as your
    existing drive.

    3 speed
Disks hard more quickly improve access times so check out 5400 and 7200 RPM. (there may be a problem
with the generation of heat so 5400 RPM is probably better than 7200)

The are no problem with Windows licenses as the license applies to the operating system itself and not on the hard disk on which it is installed.

    Kind regards

  • How do I reset the fan on Satellite Pro P100 control?

    Hello

My PSPAEE - 00E006EN Satellite Pro P100 turned on his car in his carrying case the other day.
He got very, very hot. Now on the side fan runs all the time but otherwise his work as usual.

An easy way to restore control of the fan? TKS.

    Hello

There is no function that could restore the cooling modules.
I guess that your laptop was put in standby or in hibernation mode and somehow, she woke from sleep or hibernation mode

You stop simply laptop (windows start-> closed) and then should power the unit.

Just FYI; You can change some settings of cooling modules in the Vista power management.
To do this, see this FAQ:
