HP 15-d053sr HARD drive protection
This model has a HARD active/passive disk protection to break?
Thanks in advance
..... This model has a HARD active/passive disk protection to break?
Nothing can stop it when it breaks. You're probably takling about 3D or HP DriveGuard protection technology. Because it comes with FreeDos so No:
I have the Satellite pro 200 u. I instaled the new system (windows xp professional service pack 3). OK, I installed most of the tools and utillities and all work, but I have a problem with the HARD drive protection. I start out by the system. When I try to open or open the settings window appears and it says:
TOSHIBA HDD Protection - definition
HARD drive Protection service cannot find.
What can I do?
> I installed most of the tools and utillities
What tools are installed exactly?
Toshiba tools to install first the common Modules. It of necessary for all of the other tools. Check it!
More sure that Satellite Pro U200 is equipped with the protection of the HARD drive?
So the story is, I bought a HP Pavilion dv6-6b07tx Entertainment Notebook 2nd hand and quickly got fed up with the slow loading with the 5400 RPM HARD drive time... I upgraded to a 250 GB SSD HARD drive and Windows 8.1 at the same time (super fast loading times now), I now get the error ACPI\HPQ0004 dreaded in the Device Manager. I get that it's the stuff of HP ProtectSmart and found where to find the driver for it, but do I need? What is doing? Can I just leave it like that?
At soon knightwolf153
That error is for the ACPI/HPQ0004 unknown devicefor spinner traditional hard drives.
HP ProtectSmart hard drive Protection software protects the hard drive of "parking the heads ' if the laptop fell accidentally, or is suddenly hit by another object.
You now have an installed electronic reader so that you can ignore the error message. Your drive has no head to the Park. If the error message really bothers you, then you can install the Hard Drive Protection HP ProtectSmart software.
I think the upgrade from 80 GB to 500 GB HARD drive, but I was wondering how this affects the protection against vibration - I should get a player that has not integrated it and the new disc will have the same protection against vibrations the original - that is I presume the protection mechanism is outside the drive and just parks the drive head when it detects a movement.
... actually looks that most have detection of shock, I'll go with a Toshiba drive because it stresses peace.
Hmm... First of all I'm not sure if a 500 GB will work in your laptop if only 80 GB HARD drive is installed. I m also asks that you need as much disk space in a laptop. For example, 160 or 250 GB is enough for me because I store most of my data on s to external HARD disk or DVD.
Let me give you a little advice: in this case I'm going to my local computer store and talk with the seller which HARD disk, it can recommend. After that, I was able to test the HARD drive in a computer store and, for example, it doesn't work, you can buy a new one. Who is really nice and it should be possible in most computer stores. ;)
Regarding your question of vibration and shock protection, I think that a new drive HARD doesn't affect this feature because they don t have such a feature built-in so it makes no difference what HARD drive you buy.
I did a clean install of windows 7 64 bit on my laptop, when I put the drivers on I got a system restore on reboot after installing the HDD protection (I went through 2 restorations to this functioned as the problem) the eco button worked on both of these first attempts.
I now work properly but the Eco button refuses to work now, I've tried several times to uninstall and reinstall, but without any result
When I select the actual program eco mode it works and brings the button 'eco', as it must also goes off to do likewise.
When I push the button on the keyboard eco everything get if the beep and it flashes briefly on the screen of the laptop.
I also left the protection of the HARD drive, no matter what you have any suggestions on the foregoing?
See you soon
To be honest your ad is a little difficult to understand, but about the Eco button, the page of Toshiba Eco utility do you have installed? It is necessary to use the Eco button.
Also the value-added package must also be installed. It contains Toshiba components common driver which is necessary to make the other Toshiba programs work.
Why did you do a clean install of Windows 7? What about the factory settings? I mean the version preinstalled Windows with all the drivers and tools. Can you confirm that he of working with these settings?
I have a brand new E530 with 16 GB SSD. Product Code: 3259A 29.
I installed the ExpressCache with the C:\SWTOOLS\APPS\ExpressCache installation program. Everything went well and the thing ran faster, for a day.
Now I have updated the Protection of hard drive, such as recommended by the ThinkVantage System Update to Version 126.96.36.199.
Since then, I get an error message during startup: "2102: error detection on HDD2 (SATA Mini).» Press ESC to continue. "After ESC the machine starts.
But ExpressCache doesn't work anymore. On the command line the command eccmd.exe - info says "* ERROR * ECCmd required peripheral is not available: 2
I guess, the update of the ruined the ExpressCache HD-protection - hide.
How can I fix ExxpressCache? All eccmd.exe options, it returns the error message above.
Thanks for your help!
You see the error message:
«2102: error detection on HDD2 (SATA Mini).» Press ESC to continue. »
is from the BIOS. You say that the mSATA SSD (or the port that it attached) is bad.
I recommend you call the support phone number in your country to apply for warranty repair.
The update of the software APS could not cause this, given that the APS software runs only under Windows. You see the error message is BIOS. I think it is purely a coincidence that HW failure is apparently happened as you updated the software of the APS.
After Vista installation professional in my Service for the Protection of the drive HARD A8 - 185 has stopped working, I need to update the software HDD P.S. Shock Sensor but can not find anywhere.
Someone knows how to fix this? Help me please :( Thank you.
Please do not post twice! And you follow the first thread
After you have reinstalled windows, I not recognized device
ACPI\HPQ6007\3 & 2411E6FE & 0
I managed to find it's a HP 3D HD protection device thing – I'm guessing sensor of acceleration?
and if I'm correct required driver is sp67280.exe
I swapped the HD with the SSHD manufacturers so it seems a bit pointless to install in particular that it is quite as he would have a negative impact on the performance of the PC.
What do you think? Would it not be better to ignore the unrecognized device or install this useless from my point of view function, since it could be used by other components and lack of it may have a negative impact on the performance actually?
I like a 'clean' Device Manager
The software of the unit doesn't bother the performance of the laptop. Is not a very large file.
I installed it on my HP Elitebook 6930p, who runs a 330 of Intel SSD, and I can tell you that I noticed zero negative impact on disk or laptop with 3D driveguard installed.
After the upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista, I lost HDD protection and integrity monitor.
Any help would be appreciated.
Visit the Toshiba download page and download these two tools for Vista and install it on your laptop Win7 preinstalled.
I did the same thing on my Satellite A500 and everything works fine.
I'm trying to upgrade to windows 7, but I keep coming with remove the Toshiba HDD protection control panel but I can't locate it in the control panel.
Another form, I checked and he gave ideas but they do not work but they were for a laptop Toshiba differnet. I tried to install different HDD as well and it does not get recoginized and the same thing when I try to upgrade to windows 7 with original hard drive, that he cannot see the hard drive. Just telling me to uninstall the hard drive protection.
Please help me and tell me how to disable and remove
> I am trying to upgrade to windows 7, but I keep coming with remove the Toshiba HDD protection control panel but I can't locate it in the control panel.
You should look in the control panel-> programs and features
Here you will find all the programs that are installed in Windows Vista. To remove an any of them click the program you want to uninstall and then click Uninstall/change, and follow the prompts.
After Toshiba HDD protection has been uninstalled, you can try to keep up with the upgrade to Windows 7.
I have a Toshiba Satellite A660 1F6, unfortunately the usefulness of Toshiba HDD protection does not enable protection because all the buttons are gray, and when I try to open it, a message appears: "He was not able to set up properly for the Service of HARD drive Protection System."
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the situation does not change.
Are you using the original operating system preinstalled that you got with your laptop?
I am trying to upgrade my Portege M300 with a hard drive bigger, as seen on the Portege forum, I posted the thread after that two hard drives from samsung does not similarly, shortly after the installation of the new.
I just want to know if the protection of Toshiba HARD drive utility is simply made for Toshiba hdd or if it can work on any other brands of hard drives of brand. As I say, I want to upgrade a 60 GB to 160 GB and 2 new hard drive failed. I've since updated my bios to the latest version and I also consider not to install this hard drive protection feature, just in case where it will cause problems once more with my 3rd HDD replacement of same nature.
I appreciate any thoughts on this.
Thank you very much
Usually it s any manufacturer is.
If the HARD disk supports the CHIP so it should be possible to use this HARD drive.
The HARD disk protection tool verifies the parameters of the HARD disk.
But the settings are configured by HDD manufacture then it might be possible that the HARD disk will not work if the tool would not choose the settings correctly.
file of the utility of HARD drive protection seems to be corupt for Qosmio laptops - have tried to download a few times with the same answer corupt (for file hddprot) all other drivers to do the same thing?
Maybe you should put some useful information:
Computer laptop Qosmio do you have?
What operating system do you use?

I was fully successful in downgrading to Windows XP PRO on my laptop dv7 - 2177cl. I was also able to successfully backup my system using the backup & restore disk Paragon. The only thing I strongly feel should be available was HP protect Smart Hard Drive Utility that protects the hard drive against accidental impact. Is there a version of this utility for XP PRO. Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you.
Yes, your model must be installed ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection:
In XP, this software is known as:
HP 3D DriveGuard here
After a clean install of windows 10 in my laptop S11-160, Device Manager does not recognize HARD drive Protection sensor, so in the HARD disk Protection settings, this option cannot be enabled. Is it possible to fix it, or I come to windows 7 and then move to 10?
Another problem is that when I try to burn a dvd or a cd, I get an error: "write speed is too fast or too slow. The reader, MATT * A DVD-RAM UJ890AS, worked perfectly on windows system 7.
Any help would be appreciated!
After you install clear 10 Windows in my laptop TECRA S11-160, Device Manager found no sensor HARD drive protection, so within the parameters of this protection cannot be enabled. What I have to go back to windows 7 and upgrade to Win 10, or is there another solution?
