HP 2000 NOTEBOOK PC: Factory reset

Hello, I need help with something. I was wondering how to factory reset my computer. I called customer service and they did not help. I just need to know how to reset and I'll be on my merry way! Thank you.

Hello

There are three main ways to restore your laptop to its 'Condition of the factory' - see the document at the link below.

Perform a recovery of the HP system - Windows 7.

    Product: HP 2000 Notebook PC

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit

    Hello

I backed up my notebook complete and ready to factory reset, but I am unable to do this.

I was not able to find the Manager HP recovery on the computer nor a download available for it. I held the F8 key during reboot, but I only have a system restore point option, not a factory settings option.

Unfortunately, I don't have a CD of Windows 7 ultimate

Don't know not where to go forward and help is appreciated.

    Hello

If the recovery Partition is still intact, you can launch it by closing the notebook, then typing away at f11 as soon as you start the laptop.

  • HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC: Can't activate Windows 8 Pro after a factory reset (hard drive reformatted).

    Hello:

I had to make a drastic clean the C drive of my ENVY 17 laptop and did a Factory Reset. I was able to reload Windows 8 Pro to my USB stick recovery.

However, Windows 8 Pro cannot be reactivated indicating that the product key is invalid or blocked. I understand that this is due to having the OS completely cleaned and formatted drive.

    My questions are:

    1. Will be the HP (which is available on order) recovery disks be able to help solve the situation described above?
    2. It will allow me to reactivate my Windows 8 Pro?
    3. Will the recovery be HP discs/media contain or are marked with the correct Windows product key?

    Thank you

    Hello NateY3k,

When you receive the disks, you want to turn on your computer and insert the first, then turn off the computer. Wait about 10 seconds and then turn on the computer and it should load discs.

Here is a linkthat will help you with the process, when you open the link, click on "recovery from recovery discs", and which should also help a little.

Please respond back promptly with more questions.

  • Cannot perform factory reset to Satellite L650

    Hi team, support

Hope you will be well :)
I have some problems and hope that you will help me solve them. Here is the description of my problem:
I have a Toshiba Satellite L650 - 17R laptop computer I want to reset to the factory settings. I used the following instructions to do that (http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm), but when I'm in pressing the F8 key when starting laptop it appears a list of choices on the display that does not contain 'Repair your computer' or "??" or something like that. The first entry in this list is 'Safe Mode', second is 'Safe Mode with Networking' and so on. Also, I tried the other method described in many places in the internet, which is to press 0 and the whole power button when you turn on the laptop. In this case again, he starts to do things as described in the instructions (example here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5dEOm1EJBw): it beeps, then when I let go of the 0 key, it prints "starting Windows" and shows the Windows logo, after that it goes to market as always and no other dialog boxes appear.

Is there another way to do the factory reset?
I have doubts that the "Toshiba HDD recovery" tool of my laptop is corrupted, so is it possible to download this tool on the internet, on dvd disc and install from there? If so, then can you please give me a link of this tool for my model?

    Best regards
    Mihran grabbed.

Hello Mihran and welcome in the Toshiba forum

    Let's see what's not there.
First some general info. Each new Toshiba notebook is preinstalled with original recovery image. This image is also saved on the HARD disk on a separate partition. With the factory settings repair my computer option will appear in the advanced start-up (F8 at startup) and HARD drive recovery option can be made as described in Toshiba document you posted in your first assignment. If nothing is changed, this option will be there and you will be able to do the installation of HARD drive recovery again ad again.
    > when I'm in pressing the F8 key when starting laptop it appears a list of choices on the display that does not contain "repair your computer".
This occurs if you have installed the version of the OS using the Microsoft installation disc. After having this option to fix my computer will disappear, and you will not be able to start the installation of HARD drive recovery.
    > Is there another way to do the factory reset?
Yes. You must use the disk for the installation of the OS restore DVD. After that it all will be the same. Repair my computer option will be available again and you won't be havce factory again.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

I brought a laptop that has been the view at Sam model yesterday.  I tried to do a factory reset, but once he gets to "Windows Setup" it makes a continuous loop.  It will start at 64% go to 100%, then restart.  When it turns on, it is always 'Windows Installer' and goes right to 64% and then 100%, then restart.  I started at 22:45 (28/07/2016) last night and it's always the same.

What can I do to stop the program?

Please try the steps prescribed by my colleague. The path to resolution would play a HP System Recovery. You can learn more about this process here. • How can I only restore contacts and calendar but not the system after factory reset settings?

    Hello

I have an iPhone 5.  I forgot the password of restrictions long ago and no backups prior to that date.  I want to do a factory reset.  How can I do this while keeping a copy of my contacts, notebooks, lists and schedules, so I can re - sync after the reset?  I don't want to re - sync system settings that my backup plays up and want to do a clean install of the main parameters.

    All advice appreciated.

    Chris

You need to store your contacts and calendars on your computer or Cloud Computing service.

    AR you not do?

  • Laptop HP 15-g019WM: factory reset

Product delivered with Windows 8.1 (not sure if 32 or 64-bit).  Try recovery for a friend who isn't technically able.  Recovery HP to factory using a complete factory resets using all DVD 5, created during the initial setup of the machine.  Have since upgraded to Windows 10, but that the upgrade can be done again after a reset complete.  Am page preparation of Factory Image Recovery and I have the lines of reformatting and copying the files audited.  Progress goes to 12% with 18 minutes from the end and process freezes (several attempts and still freezes 12%). After a long wait, an error message appears indicating that the target drive is not connected.  Tempted to use a DVD player external as suggested in a tech forum, but it did not work as the system cannot read from the external drive. Is there a solution to this problem, which does not require disassembly of the machine to take the external drive as suggested in another tech forum?  Or is it a clean image DVD set which can provide HP that won't cause this problem.

    Hello

The machine originally shipped with Windows 8.1 64 bit (home).

If you wish to order a replacement set of media recovery for Windows 8.1, you can make from then on the link below.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/mediaorder/HP-15-G000-notebook-PC-series/6545564/model/6761879/softwareitem/819421-001/STEP1

Another solution, if you intend to upgrade the laptop for Windows 10 once again, would be just to perform a new installation of 10 - as the machine has been previously upgraded to 10, a hardware profile (digital rights) will have been saved by the activation servers.

As long as the previous installation of Windows 10 had activated Ok after upgrade from 8.1, you just create your own installation media and perform a new installation as described in the guide on the following link.  Note: On the activation screen, select "I don't have a product key" - Windows will activate automatically once installation is complete.

  • HP Pavilion dv4: can I factory reset with an external monitor attached to my laptop?

I got a laptop HP Pavilion dv4 entertainment PC. It has a cracked screen and I use an external monitor attached. Can I do a factory reset with the attached external monitor? The monitor is an HP w1815 LCD, case ini that matters.

Thanks for any help on this.

I would like to add that I can see on both screens only on screen cracked that I can't see the bottom of it due to cracking. As recovery options are visible on the external display, it would be prudent to start the recovery process? I made a few choice, but I am now at the point choose to 'pull the trigger' and click next to start it or hit Cancel.

  • Pavilion 6b50ei: try to factory reset but the recovery partition/drives created are defective

I have a pavilion dv7-6b50ei notebook pc purchased 2012. He always gives a command prompt pop up who don't stay long enough to read. I felt too there is a virus on it that my anti-virus did not solve so I tried the factory reset, but when I restart and press F11 it gives an error (something like a boot... is missing). so I tried my recovery disks. CD 1 of 4 ran fine but disk 2 continues to stop with an error. Now, the laptop will not charge because I think that the operating system was formatted during the recovery and do not know what to do. I feel disc 2 is bad too because he also gave an error trying to copy on a USB key. I also tried an external dvd and run the hp hard disk test; the hard drive passed the test. If I can get a new set of recovery discs, it would solve my problem. In addition, I look forward to ideas. Help, please.

    Hello

    There are two options available.

    1. you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

    Order HP recovery disks.

2 another option that you might consider is to create your own Windows 7 installation disc.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can still read all the key character product activation 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the Disk Image correct ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn offerings) to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  The source of the Windows Image is Digital River.

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1.

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

  • TouchSmart HP ENVY 17-j005ea: Factory Reset how long normally take...?

    Hi all.

I bought this laptop in 2012 and now it's time to say goodbye to the laptop because I just bought a Pro 3 of Microsoft Surface and flashes of light. Then it is time to back the laptop to factory settings, and I already have an interested buyer. But... I wonder about the time scale of the factory reset. This notebook 2 x 1 TB HDD I estimate about 4 - 5 hours, eventually 5.5hrs to complete a factory reset ready for the new user.

Which is just that I have not run before...?

    I thank in advance.
