HP 840 G3: Issue of 840 HP DriveLock G3

Hello

I just received the new HP 840 G3 model and installed with the latest version of Windows 10 64 x 1511.

Everything works well, but when I put a laptop in BIOS, computer DriveLock password does not start in Windows. It says there is no disc, after a while it restarts and after that I can type my DriveLock pass and start up in Windows.

This problem occurs only when the laptop is Windows stop, when I turn it off by holding the power button, everything is normal.

I have the latest version of the BIOS (1.05) and Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver

Could you please provide me with any suggestions?

Thank you

Jan

Try this.  (be ready for the unit stops).

Open CMD as administrator.  (clé key Windows, type in CMD, press SHIFT + ENTER, click on Yes to UAC)

Type Shutdown /s /t 0 (enter)
After the break when the unit stops upward with success.

The question should be solved by an update of the firmware in the future because now you must disable hybrid shutdown.

Google - hybrid stop windows 10
The first shot will give you a nice tutorial.

The question is, UEFI is to see the S4 state as an active state, the hard drive does not work.  The system is not the boot record as if it comes out S5 (Full power off) and can not find the disk accordingly.

Currently the factory many have problems with the new windows power States, I'd be willing to bet that the above is the problem.

    Hi Guenter,

It is "Synchronize with tree" option in "preferences > Data Modeler > diagram" and it works for me.

  • SDDM 4.0.2.840 - timing issue with redirect Option

    Hello world

I imported a model of the creator, then I imported the data dictionary (DBSRC). The 'Designer' model is therefore associated with a physical database.

I changed the tables in the model (SDDM) and script alter on the physical database (DBSRC) (right click, "synchronize... »). These are the works very well.

When I try to do the same synchronization with another data base (option redirect to DBTRG), SDDM show me that the object does not exist in the target and it will create the object. What did I miss?

But if I use 'File\Import\Data dictionary' and use the connection on DBTRG (swap target model), this is excellent work.

The last solution works, but it's a little longer...

I look on the various articles on http://www.thatjeffsmith.com without a solution.

Could someone tell me what I missed or if I do not correctly use SDDM? Or maybe it is not possible...

    Thanks in advance,

    Cedric

    Hi Cedric,

You can try changing the settings in ' preferences > Data Modeler > model > relational '-'synchronization of the database. Also, make sure that associated physical model is open.

  • Allows you to TRIM on Samsung 840 Pro SSD without danger?

I'm still in Yosemite because of compatibility issues with some software that we use at work. I saw OS x 10.10.4 you can activate the TRIM of the terminal, which would help a lot on my MBP of 2011 with a 840 Samsung 256 GB Pro. When I bought it, it's the tip about 500 MB/s as well read/write - excellent! But more recent benchmarks shows a sad note:

It's obviously a part of poor cleaning result and the lack of support from TRIM on OS X. whereas it's easy to activate the TRIM, I'm not so sure that it is safe to turn it on. There are many items from 2014 and 2015 mentioning bugs in the firmware from Samsung regarding FILLING in queueand bugs in the Linux kernel regarding sequentialTRIM that created a different problem. Most people would have problems because of the firmware on the disk problem.

-Where are we now? Is this even a question? I can't find a more recent post on what are the potential risks. I do a lot of video Import/Export at the time (where the wish for a faster drive) and I can't risk of corruption. We're talking perhaps about 50-60 hours of material, all the corruption in exports would probably take long to notice (before anyone looks at everything).

A quote from the post to MacRumors: 'so if you have a modern Samsung drive, it is important that your operating system uses regular sequential TRIM. Linux is the only OS that uses queued. All versions of OS X (same El Capitan) and Windows (last) always use sequential TRIM and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. »

So is it true? I can easily activate topping on my Samsung SSD, no risk that I'm suddenly stuck with random corruptions on my files in a few days/weeks?

As far as I can see 'about tech' article there is no problem on Mac, only Linux distributions that uses queued TRIM, which the Samsung 840/850 readers wrong informs that it supports. Sequential TRIM and Mac/Windows should not see any problem.

"Samsung TRIM questions seem to appeared only when used with the TRIM controls in queue." OS X uses only sequential TRIM of orders at this time, so allowing the FILLING with the line of Samsung SSD should be OK, such as reported by MacNN. »

  • HP EliteBook 840 G3: Why BIOS version 01.07 (sp76235) is pulled? (G3 EliteBook 840)

Anyone know why the BIOS version 01.07 (sp76235) for EliteBook 840 G3 is taken?

    Link to the BIOS:
    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?swItemId=ob_167436_1 & swEnvOid = 4054

The date is 1 January 3000 so he has obvisoly something wrong and HP do not want to install, I have deployed it to a large number of machines and would like to know what kind of questions, it is hoped.

A new version 01.10 came out with these fixes:

-Fixes a problem that causes the display to become visually distorted (flicker).
-Fixes an issue where a system running Windows 7 with active hard drive encryption is unable to power (boot) after the BIOS is updated.
-Prevents the BIOS downgraded below the 1.09 version.

NOTE: After loading the BIOS version, older versions of BIOS may not be installed.

  • EliteBook 840 D1F44AV: Legal re-installation of Windows / COA

    Hello

Having a sticker of COA that reads HP Windows 7 Pro OA to the back of the laptop means that the laptop comes with legal pre-installed Windows, if so can I use any windows media to reinstall as long as it's the same version, or should I use a HP recovery DVDs? that is important if the Windows I'm trying to install is 32-bit or 64-bit? I ask because I have an Elitebook 840 that has what I think a windows no legitimate Pro 7 32bits and there is no recovery partition.

    Thank you

    b_read

The presence of a Win7 COA sticker means that the PC has been preinstalled at the factory with a version of Win7 OEM HP.

You cannot use any version of Win7 to replace that, because only an OEM version will activate using the product key that came with your PC.

IF you are using an OEM HP's version, it will activate, but HP is more for older PC Win7 recovery media.  Instead, you must check this site to see if they still carry the media for your PC: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

From the point of view of activation, it doesn't matter if it's 32-bit or 64-bit, because they use the same product key, but if you are installing a different version, you may not be able to find the HP drivers for it, as HP mainly provides 64-bit computers.

    Good luck

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx - do not pick up the Samsung 840 Evo SSD for clean installation

    Hello

    Laptop model: HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx

I bought a new Samsung 840 Evo 500 GB SSD and going on to replace the main HARD drive. Tried to install Windows 7 Ultimate on it using the USB bootable Win 7, it loads the installation and starts ok and then he asks to load the driver for any device and gives you an analysis of the option to see if there is any storage device to select for installation. It clearly shows that it does not pick up the SSD.

Unfortunately the bios insydeh20 V3.5 has no possibility of even check if it is detected or so.

What do you think is the problem? The BIOS update would solve this issue? or is there any other work around that.

    Thank you

    Mike

Before I went ahead with the method you suggested, I tried updating the Bios with the latest version and voila... system picked up the SSD and all is well now.

    Thank you

    Hello

I can't find any strange or mysterious messages in the log file.
You suggested that the drive can burn CDs but not DVDs.
The calibration lens dysfunction is sometimes responsible for these issues.
Unfortunately, I have no solution for this problem. The replacement drive must resolve.
The unit is fairly new in this case, you should ask for help ASP.

  • HP 840 G1: update the BIOS

    Have a HP 840 G1 about a year - provided with Windows 7 preinstalled.

Upgrade to Windows 10 in early January and had a number of problems (instability, no sound, etc).

Did a clean recovery, re-installing Windows 10 using the Windows Recovery feature and delete some files from the user to get the cleanest version.

Seems to be running very well so would load my files and other software but tune gave me a few updates, including the 01.35Ap1 of SP74659 Version of the BIOS upgrade.  Trying to finish the upgrade but I received a message upgrade installation ahd failed - could stop and start normally again. I just checked my BIOS level and it shows L71 worms 01.20. However, HP has the latest version of the BIOS as 01.35.Rev.A which seems a lot more recent than the 1.20 that I apparently.

Given my limited technical skills, have I missed something or can I safely download and try to install 01.35.Rev.A

    Thanks in advance

    @DJS10

This update is for Intel VBIOS.

The VBIOS provides a set of graphical functions that are used by programs to access the video hardware. The graphics controller built into the Chipset Intel® is an example of the video material.

You can try to update manually here.

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?sp4ts.Oid=5405097&swItemId=ob_160587_1&swEnvOid=4192#tab2

It is the recommendation of Intel.

You don't need to update your VBIOS if you do not experience a graphics issue with your computer.

Here are a few reasons why you can update your VBIOS:

    • To solve a problem of graphics (for example, visual corruption when playing a new game, an error reported by the Windows operating system * which is linked to the video BIOS, etc.)
    • Recommendation of the manufacturer of your computer
    • Recommendation of an Intel customer support agent

  • T440s kills 840 Samsung SSD pro

    Hi all

I have a T440s new, bought with HARD drive. That I wanted to use a reliable SSD, I bought a Samsung 840 pro, I already running in another system. That's when the problems started. In a German Forum several users report similar problems, so I just wanted to give a summary here, so that perhaps the international community can help. I consider myself as being an experienced user, built the various PC systems in recent years and currently have a desktop running with Samsung 840 pro system. Here are the details:

I installed Windows 8.1 (several times, first clone HARD drive and later after recurring problems, clean full install win DVDs of 8.1), value UEFI Bios only + Intel Quick start disabled before installation.

The question now is with the SSD I get constant HDD (visible in EventViewer) mistakes, while usually after a few hours of operation, the operating system is damaged to the point that it cannot start more. I should mention that the same system is running stable with the original HARD disk. First I thought that it is a faulty SSD and I replaced it by Samsung. However, with the new SSD replaced I am facing the same problems. Earlier this year, I have corrected a problem on a desktop with 840 pro where symptoms were similar. In the case of a desktop system, the issue could be fixed by replacing the SATA cable (which is obviously not an option on the T440s).

And Yes, I use the latest firmware SSD, the BIOS update, the drivers of Lenovo. Now, the problem is that I do not seem to be the only one with these problems. Other users in similar problems Thinkpad German forum report not only on Windows systems, but also on Linux installations (we even got the motherboard replaced by Lenovo and yet, it does not solve the problem).

I contacted Lenovo support and they told me that they support only of original Lenovo SSD. I must say that I am really disappointed that my new system from a renowned manufacturer constantly does not work with one of the most widely used SSD. Currently, some users in the report of the German forum they have better luck with Samsung EVO SSD. However, after this experience, I really lost confidence in the T440s. If the design should have problems with Sata 3, I don't know if I can trust this laptop in a business environment.

    Comments/suggestions very welcome.

    Kind regards

    Frank

  • HP Elitebook 840 G1, G2, G3: Showing empty HP 2013 Ultraslim Docking station

    * It seems to connect has a new dock in a configuration that we already know works fixed whatever issue the dock. After connection to a working configuration, we can move to some other computer/editing we need to, and it continues to work. Not a real solution irritable, but it seems to work.

When you try to use an adapter Displayport to VGA or DVI DisplayPort cable / to connect a HP 2013 Ultraslim Docking station to an external monitor, the screen comes up with no signal and goes to sleep. Connection with a VGA cable, it works very well. We have been able to reproduce this problem with several new, fresh out of the box docking station. The problem occurs on all monitors that connect us, even those who work with the other Docks to see.

It seems to be the topology of Displayport Intel is picking up on the screen and making it so that the displayport cannot be enabled without connect 3 screens.

The old version of the Ultraslim Docking station that had 1 displayport seems to work very well, it's just the most recent version 2013 which has 2 displayports who has this problem.

Does anyone know if there is a newer firmware or where I can disable/stop the topology Displayport to pick it up a monitor and try to do 3 screens? If this isn't the case, we will probably have to go back to USB adapters and those who are no funny.

    Thank you

    Andrew
