  I have exactly the same problem. I have reset the printing system, installed the drivers and created a "Preset". Yet, I must go to the menu settings/options to check the 'duplex' box AGAIN EVERY time in all applications.  I would appreciate a fix. I have a HP Officejet 6500 has more and Mac 10.11.5.

  Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

  I understand that you have some problems with the duplex option when printing from your Mac OSX 10.11 machine to your Officejet 6500 a Plus e-All-in-One. I can help you with that.

  To resolve this issue:

  1. If the printer is connected via USB cable to your Mac, delete it.
  2. Click on your Apple icon, system preferences and printers and Scanners.
  3. Hold down the CTRL key and click the icon of the printer on the left.
  4. Click on reset printing system.
  5. Restart your Mac.

  Now, if you removed the USB cable, plug it. If this is not the case, click on your Apple icon, system preferences and printers and Scanners.

  1. Click on the button "+" in the corner.
  2. Click on your printer in the list.
  3. Click in the box next to and select your printer from the list.
  4. Click on Add.

  At this point, the duplex option must remain active. If not, the next step would be to communicate directly with the Apple Support. You can do so by clicking on this link.

  Thank you for helping me to get my laptop working again - after contacting the Microsoft Community, Microsoft and my ISP, my email seems to work so I can get all my incoming messages.

  The specifications have not any information on restrictions "margins".  In general, the high margins and the size may be restricted a.11 inches, while (for some printers / paper) the background may etre.5 inches.

  IF the printer like / limit top / bottom margin a.5 inches, so that the word 'Narrow' margin setting may be in conflict with the ability of the printer to print the document.

  Maybe you can change the margins of the document 'Normal' or something similar.

  You can also adjust the settings individually.

  Word Document > file > Print > click on layout > layout tab

  Check to see where your headers and footers are defined compared to the whole "Narrow margin" setting.

  You can adjust the header and footers downwards / upwards away from the title of the document / paper edge.

  Example:

  Word Document > Insert > footer (drop down menu) >

  (look at the bottom of the parameters available footer) Change the footer > adjust as you wish

• 8500 a909n scan & print of Readiris Pro 11 and Acrobat 10.1.3 is distorted

  Scan doctor says everything is OK, but Readisis 11 pro and Acrobat 10.1.3 scans fall dpi required (600-> 300) and when the scan is printed, the image is shrunk and 0.5 "white space is added at the top and bottom. Said update drivers are up-to-date (Windows 7-64 bit, HP a909n, Readiris pro 11, & Acrobat 10.1.3). Kaspersky full scan shows no virus. Readiris is unable to find the edge unless the page is in the middle (flat). See the native mode is defined, but no properties don't pop up. .   It's the thing.  It is not a question or a problem with the duplexer.  It's just how it works.  The duplexer reformatted the verso of a print out differently than it does the front.  Inkjet printers, it leaves space so that the ink will not smear.  Laser printers, it leaves space to avoid the toner smears.  It's just the way is designed the duplex function.  I'm sorry.

  The Forums of HP is a great place to find answers to the questions/problems you may have, welcome! I see that you are facing some print quality problems when you print to your HP Officejet 8500. It is printing in pink only and partial pages. You have performed the steps in troubleshooting without success.

  1. When you performed the cleaning and printed the test page, have you seen all the colors on the page or is - this only rose as well?

  2. are you able to make a black copy?

  3. When you upgraded to Windows 10 you would update the software and drivers for the 8500 JO so?
