HP Advisor dashboard does not recognize my Antivirus tool

-J' have a HP Pavilion with Windows 7 p6516f. In HP Advisor dashboard PC - Security said under Virus Protection "we don't have an Anti Virus software installed on your system". Yet I have Mcafee Total Protection installed and ran it without problem for more than a year, and my Action Center in Control Panel also pointed out that "Mcafee anti-virus and Anti-spyware reports that it is up-to-date and virus scan is enabled.

-My problem is that for the in recent weeks, while analyses fast and tailored analysis run successfully, the planned McAfee comprehensive analyses have failed to finish, suspended several times on the system such as .dll and .sys files.

-Could you HP Advisor failed to find my Anti Virus Software be causing it is impossible to analyze some of the HP system files?

HP Advisor usually doesn't recognize or acknowledge is a better description, no matter what other than if Norton antivirus is what is preinstalled.

However, advise has no control over the antivirus, AFAIK. Never had any problems with it. Of course I usually uninstall buggy Adviser soon.

Your problems with likely McAfee are within the app. If their support has no idea you can just uninstall and do a fresh install.

    What a fool one program is Roxio for not being able to uninstall their own stuff more graciously.  I read their directions.

    I'm a little confused abouut your problem. you try to RUN the software and complete functionality to your direct printer from the Hp Web site? If so, Hp does not recommend this process.

    Better to save full feature software and driver first before installing because by clicking RUN directly connected to the internet, you will have a problem to install - some will get instaalation error-corrupted files.

    Pls. click the download button and save it to your desktop.

    Also, before you install it, also try a different USB port on the computer, disable any third-party software on your computer like antivirus, firewalls and spyware because it could block some of the drivers for your printer specifically for scanning. Re-enale the protection again after installation.

    If still not detected, you can try inserting a USB stick to the USB port on your computer. If it works, doesn't mean no problem with the USB PORT.
