HP Compaq dx2300 format microtour CPU Upgrade requires the bios update

Hey, my Hp compaq dx2300 format microtour came with a core2duo E4400 processor, I had an E8400 CPU because they share the same socket LGA compatible on the motherboard and it fits perfectly, only the pc does not start, then read around some sites say it is supported by my MSI motherboard A 0, 90, others only reported up to E6700 what I don't understand, is why it wouldn't work? I BIOS v1.14 (latest news on the list of dated drivers '2008'!) and can't seem to find a solution for this, please tell me what to do I don't want to be stuck with a CPU, I can't use cause it isn't a way to map mother read it, thanks in advance!

Hello:

Unfortunately, you're stuck with an E8400 which won't work in this PC.  See page 4.

Here are links to the quickspecs for your model.

http://h18000.www1.HP.com/products/QuickSpecs/12668_na/12668_na.PDF

An E8400 processor will not work in any case with x chipset Intel 94 or 96 x chipset.

In order to run an E8400 into a PC, there need an Intel 3 series chipset or 4 of the series.

Of course a processor must adapt to an outlet, but is not the only criterion needed to make it work.

  • HP Compaq dx2300 format microtour missing PCI Simple Communications Controller Driver (Modem?). WinXP

    Hello

I had to restore a HP Compaq dx2300 format microtour Win XP system from the recovery partition.

Everything seemed to work fine except no driver found for PCI Simple communication controller.

There was no modem in Device Manager.

I downloaded the driver for the modem on the HP website, but it will not identify / install the driver.

Remains of the error. (no driver found for PCI Simple communication controller.)

    Any Suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

    My apologies to Paul.

Your label says HP Expert 2014. I made a mistaken assumption that you were part of HP.

I agree that it probably isn't a standard part of HP. I also looked at their specs and the database driver.
I tried to use never version on the HP web site for their standard model for Agere 56 K PCI Modem driver. He did not consider it as one appropriate driver.

However, I could only identify a compatible driver using a new pilot identifier utility (new to me at least).

    It seems to work.

I think I'll keep it in my toolbox in the future.

  • HP Compaq dx2300 format microtour

I have a HP Compaq dx2300 microtour with the following BIOS:
    Phoenix Technologies, LTD MS7336 1.08, 25/05/2007

I want to upgrade BIOS, but apparently there are no BIOS version unless
you are running Windows 2000, XP and Vista.
Since I have Windows 7 installed and working, can someone point me to an update of the BIOS
    It works on my computer?

    Thank you.

    Xlator1, welcome to the forum.

The only way that you can update the BIOS is to return the computer to its original configuration. including the operating system.  I don't think that HP will be an update of the BIOS for Windows 7, if there is not a list currently.

Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

I cannot access the bios by pressing F10.the bios version was F16 and flash by F20 .will help thank you very much.

I'll have to return a verdict of laptop motherboard bricked due to a failure of the BIOS upgrade. Sorry, but it happens.

  • HP Compaq dx2000 format Microtour - upgrading graphic support dual monitor?

Hi, I have a question about the HP Compaq dx2000 format Microtour. The link to the form is here:

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DocumentIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&ContentType=support...

I was asked to provide a solution for this machine that will support dual monitor. Can someone tell me please on a possible graphics card I buy (probably second-hand) that will be compatible with the motherboard on this machine and will also support dual monitor?

    Thank you very much!

    Paul

    Hello:

If you only run XP and don't have no plan to upgrade to Windows Vista or Windows 7 and just VGA (not DVI) output, this PCI video card should work for you, and your machine has only PCI slots.

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/PNY-nvidia-fx5200-Dual-VGA-DDR-256MB-video-card-PCI-/160704820819?PT=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item256ac0f653

You will need to read the installation manual on the support page and the driver of your PC because I believe that you need to change a setting in the BIOS to the PCI card to the video card main.

Or you can search for a similar PCI card with a DMS-59 output with video split cable that goes to two monitors.

  • Compaq dc5800 format microtour: Compaq dc5800 format microtour - 4 TB hard

I bought a 4 TB harddrive and installed in a HP Compaq dc5800 microtour.

The drive is recognized by the computer, but in the BIOS indicates that the capacity of the disk is just 1.8 to.

I checked all BIOS storage options and doesn't see any clear way to solve this problem.

    Is it possible to do?

    Hello:

If you use it as a main drive, it won't work because your PC lacks a UEFI BIOS.

The maximum size of hard drive, you can install a HARD primary as 2 TB in your model drive.

If you use it as a secondary disk (storage), you should be able to format in GPT to use all 4 to.

  • HP DX2450 format microtour slow start on the POST screen.

    Hi all

The product name and number: HP DX2450 format microtour

Operating system: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

When I turn on the PC, it takes the computer about 20-30 seconds to access the menu of POST/HP screen.  After that, it starts in Windows 7 pretty quickly and is normal.

Then, when I hit the power button the screen is black with "no signal" displayed for about 20-30 seconds, then upward appears HP POST screen and it starts fine.

I tried everything under the Sun for this remove:

1 pulled all the system RAM and started with inserted individual sticks.

2 MemTest not ran - no error

3 HDD Regenerator only ran - no error

    4. the disk check is ran - no error

5 disabled floppy, USB, LAN boot, groups of CD-ROM, diskettes groups, internal speaker audio in the BIOS - do luck

6 reset CMOS - cannot set date/time - no luck

7 Ran HP Diagnostics to start - CPU, RAM and disk hard everything is OK

8 Ran SMART test on hard drive - everything is OK

    9. disconnect all USB devices at startup - no luck

10 reinstalled Win 7 on another hard drive plugged into PC - no luck.

11 upgrade BIOS to the latest worm (5.63) - no luck.

I'm out of ideas.  I'm starting to convince myself that works it's just the way the PC and its normal for it to take 20 to 30 seconds of kick.

The only other thing I did is upgrade RAM to 4 GB, but memTest doesn't show any errors.

    Any ideas, guys?

    Kind regards

    Jonathan.

    Hi Danjen,

I finally discovered what the problem was.  It was the dedicated AMD Radeon 5450 graphics card I have installed!

I took the card and returned to the integrated graphics card and it starts instantly.

I should have known, really.  I just forgot the graphics card.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello:

When you download the BIOS file that is run, and the first thing that will pop up is a set of web page - and the instructions for all the BIOS flash methods.

I like the easy way to format a USB drive in the file system FAT 32, copy the contents of the flash BACK to the usb flash drive folder, plug the flash drive on the PC, start PC, tapping on F10 key to access the BIOS at the beginning of the HP welcome screen and using the 'Flash ROM system' menu in the BIOS.

  • Update satellite A200 - 14F CPU T7400/T7600 and BIOS update

    Hello

I want to upgrade my current Core Duo T2450 CPU to something faster or T7400, T7600.

I know that PM945 will manage it but what about the BIOS? I have 1.80 which is the last for my model.

Where can I find that some BIOS change log to see if the newer processors are supported?

Are you sure that you want to upgrade the processor?
An upgrade of the CPU will not bring much more performance but mobile CPU's are fairly expensive and maybe they are not supported in the BIOS or motherboard.

Moreover, Toshiba doesn't support a CPU Exchange. You can do this, but at your own risk.

Normally a BIOS change log you can find on the driver of Toshiba download page, but if you can find t we Web does not exist on the site.
But I'm pretty sure that Toshiba doesn't add new taken processors supported by a new BIOS because it s not supported.

  • No sound in Satellite P105-S6024 - upgrade of the BIOS, Windows XP SP3

I changed the BIOS - 20090304153829.zip BIOS and put the new processor T7400 and I don't have a present, I have Windows XP SP3.
You are welcome to this question, it depends on my sound

    Help me.

    Hello

According to http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm CPU upgrade is not supported, and what you have done is at your own risk.

Anyway, is sound the only problem, you have now?
What is with the Device Manager, have you tried to install the audio driver?
    Some unknown device appears there?
Can test you the functionality of hardware using the recovery image?

  • Re: Upgrade of the BIOS in a Toshiba Satellite L640

Hi all, how is life. I have a Toshiba Satellite L640 with LUbuntu 12.10. My BIOS is v 1.70. I think I should update, because the latest version is 2.70 and he could solve some battery problems.

The problem is that the bios upgrade software for the toshiba site is only for Windows. He is not yet back, in this case I could start from a USB Pendrive with FREEDos installed and do the upgrade.

Then, someone knows some way? I read you try to run the upgrade through wine application is not recommended. Also, I guess that it is not advisable to pass by VMWare, but I don't know about it.

Of course, I have no system to dual-boot, just Lubuntu Qantal.

    Thanks in advance

You are right. Toshiba offers WIN version only, so it cannot be used with Linux or by using the external device as BACK up to date.

What problems do you have with the battery?

  • Satellite A65 - Crash during the upgrade of the BIOS. Not now boot.

I have a satellite A65 s-1064, and I was upgrading the BIOS from windows. Suddenly, the computer turns off, and I thought that it meant that the update was made. I pressed the power button, and booted the laptop, but remained at a black screen. I thought maybe the BIOS was always something, so I left for a while. After an hour, I returned to find even on the black screen.

I pressed the power button to restart, but nothing happened. I finally had to pull on the power cord and the battery. Once I did, I plugged it back in and put the battery in, but nothing happened. No battery charging lights. No power lights at all. Nothing happens when I press the power button. My question is, could do a BIOS upgrade failure, and could I somehow reflash the BIOS without power?

    Hi Brandon,.

It is very unusual for an upgrade of the Windows BIOS cause this kind of problem. Normally, the power subsystem is quite independent of the BIOS.

Is there a reset button that you can use to reset the system your A65? (Sorry, but I'm not familiar with the A65). If so try to press it to see if this will allow you to restore the power of your laptop.

If you get no power at all (try removing the battery and then connect to the AC adapter), then it is possible that the power supply or the motherboard did not in this case, you will need to contact an approved Service Agent for the laptop repaired.

As for your question about flashing the BIOS without power, I'm afraid that this is not possible. You will certainly seized the restoreds power to your laptop you can proceed with your upgrade of BIOS.
