Hello:

I mean by this is... I think that your laptop has only a single antenna, and that is why the reception is so low.

For some reason, HP wants to include only 1 antenna wireless in notebooks with this model Realtek wireless card.

All wireless cards have two terminals to connect antennas to-including yours.  A main terminal as well as an auxiliary terminal.

The second wire connects to the auxiliary Terminal to improve wireless range and a reception.

So basically your card is only half the reception should be with a single antenna.

    Hi @dberkley ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked into your problem on your laptop and get HP ENVY with wireless connections. Here is a link for the wireless connection troubleshooting.

I would use the network of Windows 8 and resolution of the problems of the Internet section.

I looked for a solution for this and that they indicate on the forums that if you change the channel of the router on a different channel, that might solve the connection problem.

You could disable IPv6 for the laptop. Some say this helps.

Solve this problem Microsoft Fix it 50413 here is a link to help as well.

Make sure that all of your windows updates have been supported and discovered on the network.

    Hope it will be useful.

  • HP Envy 7640: Wireless issues when connecting to a VPN

    Hi all

I just got this printer (HP Envy 7640) of my company. I work from home, I need to be connected to a VPN.

When I connect to this VPN, my printer (wireless) does not work.

As soon as I stop my VPN connection, all of my prints are made.

    How to solve this problem?

My COMPUTER support explained to me that the only why do the job is to stop the wireless connection and use a USB connection.

    Do you have another solution?

Also, how to change USB connection wireless connection? I found the solution on the other hand, but not like I need.

Thanks a lot for your help!

    Kind regards

    Juliette

    Hello

You can print to the printer from a computer connected to the same local network as the printer, by connecting to a USB port, you can print from the same local computer on the pritner, you will not be able to print from the remote desktop, the PC and the printer must be connected to the same LAN to print.

You should be able to use the wireless on the other laptop, as long as this laptop is connected to the local network and the printer is connected too you can print on it, by connecting the USB cable, we did not unplug the pritner from the local network and therefore printing wirelessly from other computers on this network is available with no difference.

    Hope that helps,

  • HP Envy 4500 to connect with the USB or wireless

I just set up this printer on a wireless network to use with my laptop.  I would also like to set up a usb with my desktop computer connection.  Can I install the software on the desktop and then just pass to set up as a usb connection?  Did I meet access the printer wireless to my laptop?  Thanks for your advice.

    Hello AtlantaAH,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you want to install the 4500 want on your desktop via USB, and it's already setup on your laptop is connected via the wireless.

You would be able to install the printer without problem on the desktop, as long as you plug the USB cable when prompted.

The wireless connection, the laptop has the printer will not be changed either. Impression USB to a computer and wireless to others is a way to support the use of the printer.

    See you soon,.

  • HP Envy 5530 wireless printing

I recently bought the HP Envy 5530 for wireless printing after a terrible experience with an Epson wireless printer. Set up the printer on my desktop running Windows 7. The printer is connected to the desktop computer with a direct line-in (not of wifi capable office) and the printer is connected to my wireless network by connecting it to the router (Apple Airport Extreme). The printer connects, it appears so when I check the router (via Apple Airport Utility on my Macbook Pro) as well as tests of what the printer does it for wireless connectivity.

Despite be connected to the wireless network, the printer does not register anything. I can't print from my iPhone or my Macbook Pro. The printer will work with the line-in directly on the desktop. I was wondering if what he touched, I deleted the line hoping wifi printing would be available. Not the case. The iPhone and Macbook both "send" the document to print, but nothing ever happens. All of the tools provided by HP diagnostic show that everything works fine. The router is about 10 feet to the printer and the printer indicates a high signal strength.

If anyone has any advice or suggestions, I would be very happy.

    Hello @teedeewhy,

Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! I see that you're running into some problems when trying to print on your HP Envy 5530 from your iPhone or your MacBook, it shows as connected but do not print. You have not the 5530 connected with a USB to your computer Windows and you have no problems.

You should not have problems with both wireless and USB connection. There seems to be some sort of communication wireless with Mac problem, so let's go and start troubleshooting it:

First I want to make sure that the printer is properly connected to the router Airport:

Install your HP printer on a network with Apple AirPort

Follow the steps and I would like to know if you are now able to print to your HP Envy 5530, I'll watch for your reply.

Hi it is @ TK4GT, welcome to the forums!

I'm sorry to hear the issues you had with your 7410xi not to connect to your network. I' that my suggestion offer you, which I hope to get rid of the problem.

Please follow these steps to keep the connection: printer does not maintain the wireless connection

    All the best,

  • HP Envy 4500: Printer connected to the network; laptop computer connected to the network; laptop cannot find the printer!

I searched through the forums and read a few threads about similar questions, but do not yet have a solution to my problem.  The printer is connected to the network (even printed page "Congratulations, you're connected" with all the relevant information).  It is on the same network as my laptop.  However, when I run the exe to install on my laptop, it does not find the printer, even when I put the IP address the printer gave me on the congratulations page!  I have run Avast Free Antivirus 2015 on my machine, but don't see any particularly troubling parameters which could interfere.

Any thoughts on how I can get the laptop to see the printer?

    Henchman21,

Thank you for the information you have provided to us. I will be you initial steps that could solve the problem.

    Solution

    1. do you have the HP Envy 4500 connected to your computer via the usb cable

    2. If you have installed the correct software for your HP Envy 4500 and the drivers on your computer, you will need to run

    * Note: If the software and drivers for the HP Envy 4500 does not work or does not work the .exe, you must uninstall it in add it and remove programs.

2 1a, you should download the drivers and software for the HP Envy 4500 on-site HP click on this link.

2 2 b If you have correctly downloaded it you must connect the HP Envy 4500 device to the computer via a usb cable and launch the installation. Usb printers will be automatically detected by your computer. Installation of HP Assistant there will be a point he will ask you if you want to configure the computer for wireless connectivity, it's time that all wireless information stored on your computer will be transferred to the HP Envy 4500. If this does not work! and I know that it will not...

I hope that the solution I provided will work for you.

Let me know if the steps above don't work for you

  • HP Envy m6 wireless problem

    Hello

I have a HP Envy m6-1207TX notebook PC (product no. D5F64PA #ABG). According to the tag in the battery Bay, it has a Ralink RT3290 wireless network adapter.

Since the upgrade to Windows 8.1, the wireless connection is no longer working. Small bright blue on the f12 key (IE which indicates that the wifi connection is active) is currently orange and will not change to blue when the key is toggled.

I checked on the download page from HP for a updated driver for my wireless card, but the brand name for the driver, it is not the network wireless adapter Ralink.

My ethernet connection works correctly, and all the other devices that I have (for example, iPhone, tablet PC, etc.) can access my wifi without problem.

    Kind regards

    Nick

    Hi, Nick:

    Sorry, that didn't work.

Try to uninstall the card from Device Manager, reboot and see if Reinstall driver and the adapter works this time.

If this does not work, then I don't have any other ideas you can try.

Sometimes you have to wait until enough problems is reported and new drivers are available to fix bugs.

    Best regards

    Paul

  • Bluetooth wireless connection

MacBookPro OSX El Capitan; Version 10.11. Retina display - MacBookPro connects to the printer HP C6150 help electrician with no problems. not then attempt to use the bluetooth connection.

To a printer wireless connection works using old MacBook. Bluetooth connects to the mouse and works very well.

    Select the Bluetooth device-

The computer icon shows - not connected

    Apple mouse - connected

    Hello analyst.1,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I understand that you can print from your MacBook Pro to your HP using Ethernet and wireless printer, but not via Bluetooth. I know how it is important to ensure that you can connect to your printer via Bluetooth. I'll be more than happy to help you with this.

Use OS X El Capitan: Add or remove a printerand make sure you have the latest version of the software installed and printer connection instructions, specifically, this section:

    Add a Bluetooth printer

    1. Update your software: choose the Apple menu > App Store, click updates, and then install the listed software updates. Even if no updates appear, this ensures that OS X has the latest information on printing software you can download from Apple. If you don't do this, you see a message that software is not available when you connect your printer.

If you have a printer AirPrint, you have no need to check the software updates.

    2. Prepare your printer: use the instructions that came with your printer to unpack the printer, install the ink or toner and add paper. Turn on the printer and make sure it is not the display of errors.

    3. Connect your printer: follow the instructions that came with your printer to make sure it is ready to connect through Bluetooth. You must also make sure to activate Bluetooth and set up the printer Bluetooth as a new device.

After connecting your printer, if you see a message prompting you to download new software, be sure to download and install it. OS X will automatically use AirPrint if your printer supports.

    Have a great day!

  • How to configure a printer wireless connected to Time Capsule?

I just bought a printer HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M577z MFP Flow. It has capabilities of wireless printing. So far, I was able to connect wirelessly to one of my MacBook Pro computers, but only by having the printer create an Ad - hoc network that allows up to 5 devices to connect to the printer. But that of not what I want because every computer should manually disconnect the Wi - Fi network, connect to the Ad hoc network, the print job and then reconnect to the Wi - Fi network whenever a print job is required. It is very difficult and frustrating.

What I would like is striking is the printer act like a network printer by wireless connection to my Time Capsule. I can't connect the printer to the USB port of time Capsule because they are far away from each other, and I don't want to use cables throughout my place. But I have no idea on how to do it because I can't find this option in the menu of the writer or configuration of the United Nations the HP utility software.

I hope someone here could help me, please. Thank you!

I have an Epson printer, so some of my experiences may or may not apply.

I also have a time Capsule, and my printer and Time Capsule are far apart.

My current configuration looks exactly what you are looking for: a wireless network provided by Time Capsule than all my Apple devices to a wireless connection, and my printer connects to the same wireless network.

When I first bought the Epson printer, I needed to connect it to the Capsule of time via a USB port.  This sounds as if it were true for you as well.  So, for this very short period. I moved the printer via the USB port next to the printer, the connected Time Capsule, made the setup and then the printer recognized my standard wireless network.  I've returned to steady state, which I use now, with the printer and the far (actually on different floors) Time Capsule.

  • 7520 HP loses the wireless connection. What can I do?

I've seen lots of talk about HP products, loss of wireless connection.  I have the same problem with my 7520.  Initial Setup is perfect, but he began to lose the connection when it went into standby mode.  Someone at - it a solution?

    THERE IS A FAST SOLUTION!
On April 18, 2014 (page 11 of this thread), I posted a quick solution. My HP7520 printer has worked on Netgear router WIFI 7550 flawless since then. I suggest you read this post.
From long experience with HP, I found they have great hardware, but their software has always been dismal. The ultimate "fix" would be for HP address their failure of a software that allows to my difficulty in working.
A single "tweak" in the router security settings wifi will do. The rest of settings changes other people have suggested are short lived (about an hour in most cases), while they don't be reconnected unless they restart everything. It makes sense because of what is happening.
The single "twist" parameter should logically point HP programmers to where in the firmware, there is the problem. They listen to? And, really, it doesn't matter on all other settings printer and router. All mine are back to the default settings and it all still works very well.
Go to a BBQ and stop wasting your time on this issue.

  • Very limited wireless connection

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 - 3153ca with a 64-bit windows system 7 and I'm only able to get a wireless connection when the laptop is very close to the modem. Once the laptop is moved, for example, to another floor of the House, the connection is lost and cannot be re established until I have the back next to the modem. He has no problem with the wired connection. This has happened while he was trying to pass my McAfee security provider, although I don't think this is the problem that my other laptop (a Dell) converted without this problem. The other laptop continues to maintain its connection Wireless throughout the House, so the router and the modem is not the issue. I downloaded and re-installed the adapter without modification. I have scanned the laptop and nothing is reported in the mess. Are there any ideas as to why the wireless connection works only when the laptop remains close to the modem? Thank you.

It seems I may not have been very clear in my previous post.  I wanted to suggest was to reverse the connection of the antenna.  As mentioned in the thread I linked, the connections might have been reversed from what they should be from the factory.  If this is the case, then connect the antennas in a factory setting would not solve the problem.

Have you tried to reverse the antennas?  If they are in the deformities, then this would fix it.  If they are in the right position, then the worst you would have (only in the deformities) would drop signal strength.
